The X200 Ultra’s engineering prototype has a main camera with a default 1.5x zoom (35mm equivalent), while the ultra-wide lens starts at 1x instead of 0.5x or 0.6x.

The vivo X200 Ultra is set to bring significant camera improvements, with a new partnership between vivo and Japan’s Fujifilm to enhance image quality and color reproduction. While the device will retain ZEISS optics and bokeh flares from previous X-series models, it will also introduce an A1 chip with improved intelligent processing power for a better photography experience. The X200 Ultra will support 4K@120fps HDR video recording, feature a new Live Photo mode, and include 5-axis stabilization. Additionally, a special camera mode designed for photography enthusiasts is expected to be part of the package. The phone will also allow smoother camera switching while recording video.

New Imaging Chip and Design

The camera island has been slightly redesigned for a more polished look compared to previous models.  Meanwhile, the X200 ultra was understood to feature the Dimensity 9400 at its helm, now the new reports claim that it will instead be powered by the latest and greatest flagship chip from Qualcomm, i.e, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 3nm.

In terms of storage, this handset will carry three different configurations: 12/256GB, 16/512GB, and 16GB/1TB. For power, the X200 Ultra will pack a massive 6000 mAh battery with 100W wired and 30W wireless charging.

Sony is a veteran player in the market when it comes to cameras. The company’s ZV Series has been pretty popular among bloggers, thanks to its lightweight and handy form factor. Now, the company has finally launched the  Sony ZV-E1 in Nepal. It features impressive specs such as a BIONZ XR engine, and a full frame 12MP sensor. 12MP Full-Frame Sensor

The key highlight of the Sony ZV-E1 camera is its full-frame 12MP CMOS sensor. To note, the previous gen ZV E10 camera had a 1.5X crop lens and this one becomes the first ZV model to use a full-frame one.

For starters, full-frame lenses provide a higher dynamic range and shallow depth of field alongside a wider field of view (FOV) as compared to crop sensors. The latter one takes zoomed-in shots, for example, using a 24mm lens on 1.5X crop sensors will generate 36mm images. On the other hand, full-frame sensors will provide a 24mm output with the same lens.

With a 12MP full-frame unit, the ZV-E1 uses a full-pixel readout with no binning in all modes. This 35-mm CMOS image sensor also ensures better low-light imageries thanks to backside-illuminated (BSI) technology. It can capture up to 4K 60p videos currently but the limit will max out to 120fps, for which Sony plans to air an update, by the way.

Furthermore, the ZV-E1 is capable of 10-bit 4:2:2 videos for more flexibility for color grading. On top of that, the lens gets the support of Sony’s BIONZ XR engine providing precise gradation rendering, color reproduction, and better low-noise performance.

Design

As a vlogging-centric camera, the Sony ZV-E1 is a lightweight machine at just 483 grams. The camera includes a single rear dial and a motor zoom control in place of the front dial. Talking of additional controls, you get three programmable buttons, an Fn button, and Sony’s customary D-Pad.

The first one is said to reduce shakes while walking. And the latter one ensures more smoothness for rapid movements with some extra cropping though.

The vlogging camera borrows the Real-time Recognition AF from its A7R sibling. This helps the lens to detect different subjects like humans, animals, birds, insects, and moving objects like cars/trains, and airplanes.

Moving on, the ZV-E1 also features an AI-based auto-framing mode that crops the frame to keep the subject in focus for those solo vlogging actions. For two persons, it employs multiple face recognition, which modifies the aperture to allow for the sharp focus of both subjects.

It can simultaneously capture two different image types: a full image for an HDMI output and a cropped image for an internal memory card.

After years of development delays and a couple of redesigns, the company has confirmed that Ballie will be available this summer in the US and South Korea. So, what’s new, what can it do, and how does it stand out in the growing home robot scene? Let’s break it down.

So, like I mentioned before, the Samsung Ballie home robot was first introduced at CES 2020, with the company aiming to revolutionize home assistance through AI-driven technology. However, over the past five years, the company faced several challenges that delayed its release.

These included technological hurdles in perfecting its AI capabilities and mobility, as well as the need to ensure seamless integration with a wide range of smart home devices. Moreover, the company took a cautious approach to address privacy and data security concerns, all while striving to create a user-friendly and non-intimidating design. These factors collectively contributed to the extended development timeline.

Interacting with Samsung Ballie

Fast forward to CES 2024, Samsung offered a refreshed look at Ballie, showcasing a more refined version of the home assistant. Now, that version is finally making its way to store shelves. Ballie sports a ball-shaped design, rolls around on two wheels, and features a compact form factor that blends naturally into home environments without appearing overly robotic.

A group of more than 50 Chinese tech companies, under the Shenzhen 8K UHD Video Industry Cooperation Alliance, has announced a new wired communication standard called GPMI (General Purpose Media Interface). This new cable standard is designed to handle high-bandwidth data and power over a single cable, potentially simplifying setups that currently require multiple connections. This article will discuss everything about the latest GPMI Cable, including its features and capabilities in more detail.

What can GPMI do?

GPMI

The GPMI standard supports 8K video transmission, high-speed data transfer, and power delivery — all through one cable. It’s being introduced in two types:

  • GPMI Type-B: Uses a proprietary connector, supports up to 192 Gbps bandwidth and delivers 480 watts of power.

  • GPMI Type-C: Compatible with existing USB-C ports, supports up to 96 Gbps bandwidth and 240 watts of power delivery.

This means GPMI Type-C can charge a laptop, output video to a monitor, and carry data at high speeds all at once, using the same physical shape as a regular USB-C cable.

One Cable to Simplify Everything

The idea behind GPMI is simple: reduce clutter by merging video, data, and power into one cable. This means no more separate HDMI, power, and USB cords when setting up a laptop, monitor, or media box. It also supports a universal control system (similar to HDMI-CEC), allowing you to use a single remote for all connected devices.

If GPMI becomes widely adopted, we could see neater desk setups and simpler TV installations.

What GPMI Can’t Do (Yet)

While GPMI sounds promising, there are some caveats:

  • Your computer, monitor, or TV must have GPMI-compatible ports. Just having a USB-C shape isn’t enough.

  • Existing USB-C devices won’t automatically benefit from GPMI speeds or power delivery unless they explicitly support the standard.

  • Adoption is still very limited — there are no mainstream laptops, GPUs, or TVs that support GPMI as of now.

  • The Type-B connector is proprietary, meaning it may face hurdles in adoption unless widely licensed.

Also, while GPMI Type-B can deliver 480W of power, it’s still not enough to power high-end desktop GPUs like the RTX 5090, which can consume more than that on its own.

Should You Care Right Now?

Right now, GPMI is a future-facing standard. It could replace HDMI and USB-C for many use cases, especially in high-end 8K setups, gaming laptops, and all-in-one PC solutions. But until device makers adopt it, it remains a powerful idea — not a practical reality.

The Bottom Line

GPMI combines fast data, high-resolution video, and powerful charging in one cable. If widely adopted, it could simplify how we connect laptops, TVs, and other devices. But until hardware manufacturers start building GPMI ports into their devices, it’s not something you can use just yet, even if the cable looks like a regular USB-C.

Vivo has introduced its latest midrange phone, the Vivo V50e, which joins the more premium Vivo V50 (review) and the cheaper V50 Lite in Vivo’s V50 roster. In this article, we’ll explore the key specifications and features of the Vivo V50e, along with its expected price in Nepal.

The Vivo V50e comes with a 6.77-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display and a 120Hz refresh rate. It also features a quad-curved design, which is quite rare in this segment. The entire screen can hit up to 1,300 nits of peak brightness for clear outdoor visibility, while Vivo has used “Diamond Shield Glass” for added durability.
