MSI Modern series with both Intel and AMD options now available in Nepal

When MSI introduced the new Summit series of business laptops, it also updated its existing lineup of business and productivity lineup including the Prestige and Modern series. Now, the latter has made its way into the Nepali market alongside the Summit series. In this post, we will be taking a look at the specs, features, price, and availability of the MSI Modern series of business and productivity laptops in Nepal.

MSI Modern Series Overview:

Unlike the Prestige and the Summit series, the Modern series focuses on everyday computing. It is targeted at small businesses and normal PC users. The laptops in this lineup sport a modern and colorful design. With the series, MSI has tried to provide features of the Prestige and Modern series without much compromise. Thus, the laptops under the latest Modern Series come with 11th-gen Intel Tiger Lake processors and Xe graphics. You can decide to go with AMD Ryzen 4000-series variants as well.

Design and Display

Here, MSI Modern laptops are available in two different screen sizes – 14” and 15”. Modern 14 and Modern 15 are practically the same devices with some differences here are there. Both feature an aluminum chassis and are available in Carbon Gray color. Other color options differ between Modern 14 and Modern 15.

Needless to say, MSI Modern 15 comes with a bigger screen and weighs heavier than its smaller sibling. Regardless of the screen size, users get an IPS-level panel with an FHD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

Performance and Memory

As mentioned earlier you can choose between 11th-gen Intel Core or AMD Ryzen 4000 series CPU. Fortunately, both options are available in Nepal but the ones with Ryzen processors are limited to the Modern 14, which is available with either Ryzen 5 4500U or Ryzen 7 4700U. These don’t have dedicated graphics support so you will have to rely on the integrated Radeon graphics. Likewise, these laptops feature two slots of DDR4-3200 RAM and one M.2 SSD combo slot.

On the other hand, you can choose between 11th-gen Intel Core i5-1135G7 or Core i7-1165G7 too. In addition to the integrated Iris Xe graphics, the Intel variants also ship with a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce MX450 GPU. The Modern 14 comes with a single SO-DIMM slot whereas there are two of them in the Modern 15. Similarly, MSI Modern 14 has a single M.2 (NVMe PCIe gen4) slot, while its bigger sibling has an additional M.2 PCIe Gen 3 slot.

Rest of the features

Both MSI Modern 14 and 15 series laptops pack a 3-celled 52Whr battery. The Intel variant ships with a 90W adapter whereas the AMD variant includes a 65W adapter. Regardless of the choice you make, you will get a backlit keyboard, HD webcam, a combo audio jack, and a dual speaker setup in all of them. For connectivity, the new Modern laptops support WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1. However, you would want to double-check the specs given that few of the AMD variants come with WiFi ac and Bluetooth 5. The port selections also differ between variants.

MSI Summit series of business laptops now available in Nepal

MSI introduced the Summit series of business laptops to take over the market of premium business & productivity laptops. The good news here is that the new Summit laptops from MSI are now available in Nepal. In this post, we will be taking a look at the specs, features, price, and availability of MSI Summit laptops in Nepal.

MSI Summit series of business laptops

Like mentioned earlier, the Summit lineup from MSI is catered towards business professionals. As of now, there are two series under the lineup – Summit E and Summit B series. The former offers more advanced specs than the latter and thus can be utilized by content creators as well.

MSI Summit E Series Overview:

Design and Display

There are two laptops under the Summit E series – E15 and E14. The E15 comes with a 15.6-inch FHD display whereas the E14 comes with a 14-inch panel. As of now, only the E15 is available in Nepal. There is no option for a touch display either.  However, users can choose between FHD and 4K UHD panels. The latter even covers 100% of Adobe RGB color gamut too. The chassis is made up of aluminum and it is available in Ink Black color.

Performance

The laptop is powered by the latest 11th-gen Intel Core processors. The top-end variant is powered by Core i7–1185G7. It boasts a dual-core turbo speed of up to 4.8GHz. Intel claims that it is 1.5 times faster than the i7–1065G7. The new 11th-gen Intel Processor comes with Iris Xe graphics which boasts 4.5 times better speed than last-gen UHD graphics. If it is not enough, it is available with up to NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti Max-Q. It’s a toned version of the regular GTX 1650 Ti with the compromises done to fit it on a slimmer chassis.

Battery and Security

The E15 sports a bigger battery of 82Whr compared to E14’s 52 WHr battery. MSI claims battery endurance of up to 16 hours and 10 hours on the E15 and E14 respectively. The two laptops feature TPM 2.0 for hardware-based security. There is Windows Hello support for both fingerprint scanners and Face Unlock.

Connectivity

In terms of connectivity, MSI has included two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a micro SD card, and an HDMI port, and a mic/headphone combo jack on both laptops. However, the E15 has two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports while E14 only has one USB 2.0 Type-A port. Other notable features include Hi-Res Audio and MSI Sound Tune-powered noise cancellation.

MSI Summit B Series Overview:

The MSI Summit B series consists of two laptops – B14 and B15. The B14 features a bigger display of 15.6-inch while the B14 sports a 14-inch screen. Both are IPS panels. There is no option for touch panel and UHD resolution like in the E series. These laptops are also powered by an 11th-gen Intel Core processor. Users will have to be content with the Intel Irix Xe graphics as they do not have discrete GPUs. They include a 52Whr battery like the E14 but with support for a 65W power adapter.

Both the B14 and B15 features one Thunderbolt 4 port, one HDMI port, and a micro SD card. The B14 also has two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports whereas the B15 has an additional USB 3.2 Gen 1 port.

If you are looking for a gaming laptop, there are a bunch of options available in Nepal. MSI’s GP66 and GP76 Leopard with 10th gen Intel CPU have been around for a while but you can now get the one with the latest 11th gen processor as well. In this post, we will be taking a look at the specs, features, price, and availability of MSI GP66 Leopard (11UG) and GP76 Leopard (10UE) in Nepal.

MSI GP66, GP76 Leopard Overview:

Design and Display

The biggest difference between the two lies in their display and dimension. The GP66 is the smaller of the two and also weighs the least (2.38 kg). On the other hand, the GP76 is bigger and weighs around 2.9 kg. A lot of it has to do with the bigger display that the GP76 Leopard has.

Getting into graphics, you will be getting NVIDIA’s RTX 3060 on the 10UE models. This GPU comes with 6GB of GDDR6 VRAM and it can utilize max power of up to 130W using Dynamic Boost. Similarly, the 11UG has a more powerful RTX 3070 GPU with 8GB GDDR6 VRAM and 140W of TGP.

Samsung has finally launched its much-awaited M8 monitor in Nepal. The 32-inch smart monitor allows for PC-Less productivity and also doubles as a smart TV. So, let’s go through the specs, features, official price, and availability of the Samsung M8 monitor in Nepal.

Display

The Samsung M8 is a 32-inch VA monitor with a 4K Ultra HD resolution, a refresh rate of 60Hz, and a contrast ratio of 3000:1. It can get as bright as 400 nits which makes it visible in most office and home environments. Besides this, the screen has a standard 178-degree viewing angle, HDR10+ support, and 99% sRGB coverage.

The Samsung M8 monitor features a minimal design language with four pastel colors green, blue, pink, and white. It has slim bezels and a bottom chin that matches the color of the monitor.
