Lava Agni 3 arrives with a dual display setup and an “Action Key”

Lava Agni 3 Price Nepal

Lava Agni 2 was met with a lot of fanfare and rightfully so. Now the Indian smartphone brand has launched its successor, which comes with some interesting features. In this article, we will look at the Lava Agni 3 in further detail, including its expected price in Nepal.

Lava Agni 3 Overview

Design and Displays

Lava Agni 3 continues to have well-received design aspects of its predecessors. It has curved frames and edges and ships in two shades of monotone colour options. The choices are named Pristine Glass, and Heather Glass, also hinting that it has the glass for its back panel.

This phone introduces a new design element in the price segment — the Action Key button, obviously inspired by the iPhone. Similar to the iPhone’s Action Button, users can use it as a camera shutter as well as a quick switch for various activities like video recording, turning on a flashlight, taking a screenshot, SOS, and opening third-party apps. It is also IP64-rated.

The Action Key is not the only thing that set the Lava Agni 3 apart from the crowd though! This phone also has a secondary display right next to its camera layout! Yes, it has a 1.74-inch “Agni InstaScreen” just like flip phones with similar functionalities too.

Similar to the digital pet introduced by Honor on the Magic V Flip, the Agni 3 brings a doggo called “Firey”. The mini-display in here is an AMOLED panel, just like the primary screen which is much larger at 6.78 inches. Moreover, it stretches 1.5K in resolution, offers a 120Hz refresh rate, and peaks at 1,200 nits of brightness.

Performance

For the performance, the Lava Agni 3 packs the MediaTek Dimensity 7300X under its helm. This processor is the same thing as the regular Dimensity 7300, albeit it is specifically targeted at devices with dual displays. That being said, the silicon has eight cores, comes in 4nm fabbing, and has a peak clock speed of 2.5GHz.

Other internal hardware on this phone includes 8GB LPDDR5 RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The Lava Agni 3 allows users to virtually extend the memory by another 8GB, however, there is no option for external storage expansion.

For power, it packs a 5,000 mAh battery with a 66W wired charging support. Furthermore, it has a nine-layer copper-plated heat dissipation module and a 5,000mm2 liquid vapour chamber to keep things cool and running smoothly.

Software-wise, you get clean, ad and bloatware-free Android 14, which is quite a sight at its price range. This phone also has “HyperEngine Technology” which supposedly provides a 20% improvement in FPS and energy efficiency during gaming than its predecessor.

Camera and Connectivity

The Lava Agni 3 comes with a triple camera setup on the back, led by a 50MP unit coupled with the Sony Quad-Bayer sensor with OIS capability. The auxiliary shooters on this phone include an ultrawide and a telephoto lens, both of 8MP resolution.

The former has a wide 112° field-of-view, while the latter offers 3x optical and 30x digital zoom along with electronic image stabilisation. Though the inclusion of a secondary display allows for selfies with the high-quality main camera, you could also use the 16MP snapper on the front. Other than that, its front camera is utilised as a face scanner with a fast unlock time of 0.55 seconds.

The connectivity aspect of this phone is solid too. It supports two SIM cards simultaneously and can operate in 14 different 5G network bands. This phone also has WiFi 6E, Bluetooth v5.4, and six-way navigation with A-GPS support for further wireless connectivity. There is no NFC though. And for wired connections, you get a single USB-C cable that works as an OTG as well as an audio jack.
