Design, Display

While not real or faux leather, the back panel on the Oppo A17 offers a leather-like feel with its textured back. It features two circular camera bumps one with the primary shooter and the other with a flash and a depth sensor. The phone is available in three color options: Lake Blue, Sunlight Orange, and Midnight Black color options.

Drawing our attention toward the display, the Oppo A17 flaunts a 6.56-inch LCD screen with HD+ resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. Unfortunately, it has an outdated-looking waterdrop notch over the display. That being said, Oppo could have opted for a hole-punch cutout to maintain the overall premium look of the device.

Performance

Under the hood, the Oppo A17 packs a MediaTek Helio G35 from 2020. It is a budget octa-core processor based on a 12nm process technology. Oppo has paired the processor with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Running the show is the Android 12-based ColorOS 12.1.

The rear dual camera setup on the Oppo A17 is comprised of a 50MP primary sensor with /1.8 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor. Likewise, the front selfie camera is a 5MP sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and fixed focus.

Oppo A17K Overview:

Design, Display

Like basically every other budget phone, the A17k comes with a familiar polycarbonate (plastic) build quality. Nonetheless, it looks quite modern with its flat frame design. It’s also not too heavy, weighing only 189 grams, and available in Blue and Navy Blue, the latter of which appears to be a shade of black.

The back panel of the smartphone has a matte finish and houses a pill-shaped flatter camera design. It is also IPX4-certified against water drips.

Up front, you’re looking at a 6.56-inch IPS LCD display with bezels on all four sides—especially on the chin. Unfortunately, the screen has HD+ resolution which refreshes at 60Hz and has a peak brightness of 600 nits. You can unlock the device via a fingerprint sensor embedded in the power button.

Powering the things inside is MediaTek Helio G35 chipset paired with 3GB RAM and 64GB storage. The device also facilitates extended RAM, which lets you use the phone’s storage as RAM. But it will have no bearing on smartphone performance since the storage used on the Oppo A17k is eMMC 5.1 which has low read/write speed. 

Anyways, you can extend the storage up to 1TB via a microSD card. It boots on Android 12-based ColorOS 12.1. And fueling the device is a 5000mAh battery that charges via a microUSB port.
