Infinix has been offering budget smartphones under its Hot series for a long time now here in Nepal. The latest to join this lineup is the Hot 30i which brings quite impressive specifications for the budget price. So let’s go through the specifics of the Infinix Hot 30i, including its official price in Nepal.
Infinix Hot 30i Overview
Design and Display
To begin with, the Hot 30i features an eye-catching design with a prism-style print on the back. Infinix calls it “Premium Diamond Pattern Design” and it is available in Mirror Black and Glacier Blue shades. There is also a Marigold (Orange) color option with a faux leather finish.
Moreover, despite being a budget phone, it adopts a boxy design with a flat frame. On the front side, you are looking at a 6.6-inch teardrop screen with an HD+ resolution. This IPS LCD display is protected by Panda glass and supports a 90Hz refresh rate and 500 nits peak brightness.
Performance
As for the performance, the Hot 30i packs a Mediatek Helio G37 chipset under the hood. This 4G silicon is based on a 12nm fabrication process and features 4x Cortex-A53 at 2300 MHz and 4x Cortex-A53 at 1800 MHz. Handling the graphics here is the PowerVR GE8320 GPU.
Memory-wise, the chip gets coupled with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB of expandable internal storage (up to 1TB). You can also virtually expand the RAM by up to 8GB. However, the smartphone boots on Android 12 OS-based XOS 12 custom skin.
Talking of the optics here, the smartphone sports a dual camera setup led by a 50MP sensor alongside an auxiliary lens. On the front side, there is a 5MP camera for snapping selfies and taking video calls.
Rest of the Specs
The Infinix Hot 30i draws its juice from a 5000mAh battery with 10W charging support. For connectivity, the phone supports 4G, WiFi 5, A-GPS, Bluetooth 5.0, a USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Meanwhile, you get a bottom-firing single speaker for audio and a side-mounted fingerprint reader for biometrics security.
Storage: 128GB internal storage, expandable up to 1TB via microSD
Battery: 5000mAh, 10W charging

Hello everyone, so today I’m here with the Samsung Galaxy F54 review. This mid-range phone was unveiled recently and costs RS. 52,499 for the sole 8/256GB variant. Specs-wise, is very similar to the Galaxy A54, which made its debut a couple of months ago. Without further ado, let’s get into the review covering the design, display, performance, optics, and battery life of the Galaxy F54.
Samsung Galaxy F54 Specifications:
Body: 164.9 x 77.3 x 8.4mm, 199 gm, Plastic back/Glass front, Plastic frames
So, like every Samsung phone that has launched in 2023, the Galaxy F54 doesn’t come with a charger inside the box either. This means you need to buy an official 25W-rated Samsung charger separately, which goes for Rs. 2000. Plus, you also don’t get a pre-applied skin protector and a case inside the box, so the unboxing experience is pretty dull here!
Design
Anyway, the first thing you see Samsung has compromised to bring the cost down of the Galaxy F54 is in the design aspect itself. And I believe this is probably the weakest point of the phone. You get an all-plastic build here and a taller form factor, and it doesn’t feel that good in the hands.
Design
1 of 2
Front
Rear
It also has this glossy back which, as you can see, catches a lot of fingerprints. On the contrary, the Galaxy A54 is a much better-looking phone with a matte back glass body, a much better weight distribution, and overall a more premium-looking device. The Galaxy A54 also has a range of attractive color options, whereas here, you can either choose this silver color or go with the Dark Blue option.
The Galaxy F54 also lacks any kind of IP rating, while you get an official IP67 dust and water resistance on the A54. So, you can clearly see corners being cut when it comes to the design and build of this phone.
Display
There aren’t any corners cut on the display front though. You get a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus screen with a Full HD resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, and a fast 120Hz refresh rate – all protected by Gorilla Glass 5.
This panel definitely isn’t as good as Dynamic AMOLED ones that you see on the flagship S23-series, but it is still an excellent one with great light uniformity, perfect contrast, and super accurate color reproduction.
The 120Hz refresh rate is also quite fluid and responsive, with excellent touch responsiveness. Plus, it looks like Samsung has also used an X-axis vibration motor here since it has nice, precise, and detailed tactile feedback. Just like the A54.
As for brightness, It can hit an impressive 800 nits at max auto, making it perfectly usable outdoors. The minimum brightness is also quite low here, so no issues with usage while in bed at night either. This screen also has HDR10+ and L1 Widevine certification, which means watching movies on streaming platforms, especially the ones with HDR playback is going to be a treat.
Audio and Fingerprint Sensor
However, Samsung has not included a stereo speaker here! Just a single speaker which can get pretty loud, but I did miss that depth. And in some scenarios, the audio would get just too sharp with a little annoying treble.
Likewise, you also don’t get an under-display fingerprint scanner as the F54 settles for a more traditional side-mounted fingerprint sensor, which fortunately is located at a convenient spot for operation with the right thumb.
Performance
Now, for performance, we get Samsung’s in-house Exynos 1380 chipset, which you know I am not a big fan of. Don’t get me wrong, there is plenty of power here for One UI to run smoothly and snappy. There is no hint of stutter under light, everyday tasks. But it’s just that it often underperforms when compared to similar-priced phones like the Poco F5, Moto Edge 40, and the like. Also, compared with the A54, the CPU throttling is higher on the F54.
Gaming
And that’s especially true when you start gaming on this phone! Here, I was only able to get a max of 30 fps in games like Genshin Impact and PUBG Mobile. That too at the lowest of settings!
The stability also takes a hit once I try to increase the graphics setting to say Medium on Genshin and HD on PUBG mobile. So, neither are you getting higher fps nor better graphics quality on the Galaxy F54. Lighter and more optimized games like COD and Mech Arena are more stable and can hit 60 fps at higher settings though.
Samsung has also not included any proper cooling solution like a vapor chamber here. So the sustained gaming performance is not good. Plus, the phone gets quite warm if you game for 30-plus minutes. Or you are on mobile data all the time.
On the contrary, the Galaxy A54 has slightly better CPU and GPU stability in the throttling test, as you can see from these graphs.
But overall, if you are not a heavy user and don’t play heavy games at all, the Galaxy F54 should not be a problem. The UI experience here is great, there are no annoying ads or bloatware, and you get a full-fledged One UI 5.1 based on Android 13. And like the A54, Samsung is offering the same 4 years of OS upgrades and 5 years of security patches here too.
Camera
The Galaxy F54 brings a 108MP primary camera with OIS, followed by an 8MP ultra-wide, and a 2MP macro lens. On the front, you get the same 32MP selfie camera, which weirdly fits inside a bigger hole-punch cutout than on the A54.
Daylight
Anyway, I compared cameras from both these phones and found very little difference between them. The Galaxy A54 is slightly better with highlights and white balance in some situations. Still, most of the time they produce almost identical colors and sharpness. So, overall you will get some really nice shots from the F54 – both during daytime and nighttime.

The Galaxy A54 also manages somewhat better portrait shots. As you can see from these images, the A54 has better background colors. But this is something Samsung can improve with an update or two.

Ultrawide
Galaxy A54 also has a slightly better and wider 12MP ultra-wide angle compared to the 8MP on the F54. So I was getting slightly better ultra-wide-angle shots from the A54 with a wider field of view.

The selfies are also quite nice on both these phones with good dynamic range and natural detail rendering.

Videos
This phone can also click 4K 30 fps videos from its primary and front cameras. And overall, I like their quality with ample details, consistent dynamic range, and the right amount of white balance and saturation. It also has a wider field of view than that of the A54. But like the A54, Samsung has disabled stabilization at 4K 30 fps or 1080 60 fps. And it only works at 1080 30 fps.
Battery
Okay, lastly, getting into the battery life, Samsung has fitted in a big 6000mAh cell here. And trust me, its endurance is just amazing. I was able to achieve almost 7 hours of screen time every day on my heavy usage pattern. To compare, it is almost 2 hours more than the A54. But the battery life is still not as good as my daily driver S23 Ultra, with around 7.5 hours of screen time.
For charging, it takes around 1 hour and 45 minutes to fully juice up with an official 25W charger. So, maybe Samsung should at least bring 65W or faster charging speeds to phones with such a big battery.
Samsung Galaxy F54 Review: Conclusion
Ok to conclude, I believe this is a decent phone under Rs. 55,000 for a reliable camera. It has an excellent display and great battery life. On top of that, it is guaranteed to get years of software updates.
But by paying just a little bit more, you can get the Galaxy A54 instead. It offers a more premium and nicer-looking design. Also, the IP67 rating, better thermal management, stereo speakers, in-display fingerprint sensor, and the list goes on.
For iOS users like myself, the battery health feature is one of the essential features to monitor the quality of our batteries. It helps determine how much longer our devices can survive before needing a battery replacement. Excitingly, Android is now probably adopting a battery health feature similar to iOS.
Battery Health in Android
Android is likely to adopt the highly appreciated battery health feature. Google has made the new BatteryManager APIs to provide Android users with information regarding their phone’s battery. This information ranges from initial capacity to charge cycles, manufacturing date to battery health status.
This allows apps to report a variety of battery health statistics which is one of the remarkable improvements in the BatteryManager APIs in Android 14. To mention, Cycle count, charging status, production date, date of first use, charging policy, and overall battery health are now included in these APIs.
Mishaal Rahman, an Android expert revealed that there is an addition to Google’s new capabilities to the new BatteryManager APIs in Android 14. These include means to access and analyze battery health statistics on their Android 14 devices. However, it’s important to note that the accuracy of the data presented by Batt relies on the capabilities of the charging IC (integrated chip) and HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer). Also, it may vary between different smartphones and tablets.
I bought a used Pixel 7 Pro recently and thought it was a shame that Google’s battery health feature hasn’t been released.
It’d be nice to see how many charge cycles it’s had or the estimated % of its original capacity. Fortunately, Google’s made it possible in Android 14! 🧵 pic.twitter.com/KXGtLwhJtU
The addition of the battery health feature in Android 14 is a major improvement step in addressing a long-term desire from Android users. It offers a thorough understanding of battery health that provides users with the necessary knowledge to measure their device’s battery performance precisely. Moreover, it provides valuable insights for those considering the purchase of a used smartphone, as battery health plays an important role in the overall device experience. The introduction of this feature could potentially bring Android closer to iOS in terms of battery management and increase user satisfaction.
Finally, users can take advantage of a full battery health feature, thanks to the new Android 14. They can receive valuable insights into their device’s battery efficiency by using apps like Batt. Such apps provide data on cycle count, manufacturing date, and general battery health. Surprisingly, this new feature fills a noticeable gap in Android’s use. It has the potential to improve user satisfaction by bringing Android smartphones closer to their iOS substitutions.
It’s only been a few months since the release of the Realme GT Neo 5 (aka Realme GT 3). And it looks like the company is already planning for an upgrade as Realme GT Neo 5 Pro was recently spotted on China’s MIIT certification.
Realme GT Neo 5 Pro Rumors
According to a leak, two new Realme phones were recently approved by China’s MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology), with the model numbers “RMX3820” and “RMX3823”. Although it’s unclear if these are two different phones or different variants of one phone but one of them is speculated to be the upcoming GT Neo 5 Pro.

Unlike the long vertical hinge, the display now rests on two distinct pedestals. Lenovo has expanded the space behind the hinge to accommodate two exhaust vents and a few ports.
There are two more exhaust vents, one on each side of the laptop. It is not hard to notice since all four vents now have a light blue accent – a color most associated with the Legion brand. That said, the all-plastic chassis of the IdeaPad Gaming 3 doesn’t feel as premium as its Legion sibling.
Lenovo offers the laptop in two screen sizes: 15.6-inch and 16-inch. As of now, you can only grab the former in Nepal. It brings FHD resolution, 165Hz refresh rate, and 100% sRGB coverage.

Amazfit is a sensation in the smartwatch market with a range of quality products. Its GTR lineup basically revolves around a premium build with all those proprietary fitness tracking features. Today, I’m talking about the Amazfit GTR Mini which was just recently launched in Nepal at 16,400. Having used it for two weeks, here’s my Amazfit GTR Mini Review with its fitness tracking, UI, and battery performance.
The GTR Mini comes in a circular design with an aluminum frame in the middle. Taking a quick glance, you get the feel of a premium design. As usual on a GTR watch, you can find the circular dial on the right side with an Amazfit logo imprinted. And the bottom side houses a PPG sensor for those tracking duties. Amazfit ships this watch with a black strap bundled in the box. The watch didn’t feel heavy. And thankfully, I didn’t get any skin rashes or irritations from the strap at all.

Back
Let’s talk about the display. This circular thing houses a 1.28-inch AMOLED panel with a standard 416 x 416 pixels resolution and 326PPI. As an AMOLED screen, the contents on the watch look crisp with deeper blacks. Be it the inbuilt watch faces or your custom ones, it is a visual treat with flaunting colors and vibrancy. Also, the anti-fingerprint coating keeps all those smudges at bay.
While everything is on the better side, I found the sunlight readability on the slightly underwhelming side. No, you can use it on a sunny outdoors but, I wish, the brightness was a tat bit higher.
Zepp OS and Controls
Running the show on the screen is Amazfit’s Zepp OS. Scrolling here and there feels smooth most of the time on this 60Hz display. But occasionally, I encountered some UI lags and stutters which should not be common on a GTR watch. I hope Amazfit can fix this in future updates.

Weather
Feature-wise, the UI is all packed with goodies. The watch offers PAI, heart rate, Blood Oxygen, Workout, and all such modes. Besides the fitness tracking and features, you get a calendar, alarm, compass, stopwatch, music controls, flashlight, countdown, Find My Phone, Weather, World Clock, you name it.
Talking of the customizations, you can set the menu style in two styles: Hexagon and Classic Style. Plus, the widgets can be set to your preference. And about the controls, a single pressing of the dial takes you to the menu. Similarly, with another press, it takes you back to the home screen. So, to navigate back to a specific interface, you can simply swipe from the left.
Fitness Tracking and Sensors
Let’s get to the health-oriented aspect of the Amazfit GTR Mini smartwatch. With a BIoTracker PPG sensor, this guy can measure your heart rate, and SpO2, track your steps and sleep, plus monitor your exercise via various sports modes. The One-Tap measurement mode is pretty handy which takes 45 seconds to provide your heart rate, SpO2, and stress data at the same time and same page. Besides that, you get a plethora of sports modes to play with.

Sleep Tracking
Well, I’m not a fitness freak, to be honest, I mostly used the watch to track my steps and sleep. And the results were pretty accurate on my usage period. You can rely on it for casual usage for sure. Speaking of accuracy, a smartwatch would not match with a medical-grade device.
But still, Amazfit products are fairly accurate in results and the GTR Mini is also not an exception. Besides that, the inbuilt GPS is also handy for tracking your exercise data with location even though, you don’t carry your phone.
Zepp App
A smartwatch is not complete without a companion app. Here, you get the Zepp App for the GTR Mini which is undoubtedly, one of the best in the market. The app contains adequate features and options.
Zepp App
It provides the exercise history, PAI index, toggle notification options, launch the camera, and tweak other settings of the watch. Besides that, the app lets you change the watch faces and install companion apps for the watch such as a calculator, Navigation Wear, Calorie Intake, and mini games. The Zepp App is easy to use and ensures reliability.

Notifications
The watch can display notifications and alerts from your smartphone. And not to worry, you can always choose to view notifications from your preferred apps only. You can reply to the messages via the smart reply option.

Quick Reply
Plus the Zepp app offers an option to place your customized quick reply texts. And one thing to mention, the watch doesn’t support Nepali (Devnagari) fonts. Furthermore, you also get call alerts on the GTR Mini. But, you can only dismiss it or send a smart reply as the watch doesn’t contain a mic and a speaker.
Battery
The 280mAH cell on this guy tops the juice for an entire week easily. To note, this was with daily steps and sleep tracking with an occasional heartbeat and SpO2 measurement. Plus, the display lit up every now and then with tons of notifications from the social media apps on my phone.
Amazfit GTR Mini Review: Conclusion
All in all, the Amazfit GTR Mini brings in a premium GTR vibe for a price tag of NPR 16,400, which makes it even cheaper than in India. You are sorted with all your fitness tracking needs. The UI is good except for some stutters while the display quality is superb. I really wish, there was a speaker and mic for taking calls. Other than that, the GTR Mini is a viable option in the price range.
The rebranding culture inside BBK Electronics—the parent company of OPPO, Vivo, Realme, and OnePlus—is going strong now. Just a while ago, Vivo Y78 5G (global) went official with a curved 120Hz AMOLED panel and Snapdragon 695 chipset. Now, it has landed under the “Vivo V29 Lite” moniker in Europe. So let’s get into the specs, features, and expected price of Vivo V29 Lite in Nepal.
Vivo V29 Lite Overview:
Design and Display
Commencing with the design, the V29 Lite borrows the 3D arc design by Vivo. Flaunting a slim aesthetics, the frame is just 7.9mm thin. While the plastic back panel uses a seven-layer nano-level coating, creating a jade porcelain texture. Vivo ships the phone in two colors: Black and Gold.
As for the display, you get a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. It has a Full HD+ resolution, 1300 nits of peak brightness, and supports a 100% P3 color gamut and 105% NTSC color gamut.
Performance
Vivo V29 Lite is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G chipset. This two-year-old SoC is fabbed under a 6nm process and features two Cortex-A78 performance cores clocked at up to 2.2 GHz with six Cortex-A55 efficient cores backing them at up to 1.7 GHz. And handling the graphics is an Adreno 619 GPU. In terms of memory and storage, it is available in a sole 8/128GB trim in Europe as of now.
Camera
Getting to the optics, you are looking at a triple camera setup at the back. The primary camera is a 64MP shooter with OIS while the rest of the lenses are not so useful, including a 2MP macro and 2MP depth sensing units. Whereas you’ll find a 16MP selfie shooter inside the hole-punch cutout. Also, the smartphone cannot record 4K videos due to the chipset’s limitations.
Moving on, the V29 Lite is fueled by a 5000mAh battery. It is accompanied by a 44W fast charger, bundled in the box itself. Likewise, the connectivity options include 5G, WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. For biometrics security, you get an in-display fingerprint scanner.
In the Czech Republic, the Vivo V29 Lite is priced at CZK 8,499 (around USD 385 / INR 31,700) for the 8/128GB variant. We can expect the Vivo V29 Lite price in Nepal to be NPR 53,499 if and when it launches here.
The Ideapad Slim 5 series from Lenovo are value-for-money ultrabooks with premium build quality and impressive specs. Take, the Ideapad Slim 5 16 (2023) as an example. Lenovo Ideapad Slim 5 16 (2023) Review:
Design and Display
This cool-looking guy comes with a Military Standard body with aluminum casing all around. Just look at it, the lid looks premium, and the body is slim. Weighing 1.8 kg, daily commuting didn’t feel that heavy at all. Not to forget, the laptop gets opened with one hand, quite effortlessly.

Design
Opening the lid, you are greeted with a 16-inch IPS display with a WUXA resolution (1920 x 1200 pixels– which has a very decent viewing angle and a 180 degrees hinge mechanism. Likewise, this 16:10 antiglare panel comes withTÜV Low Blue Light Certification, andSGS Eye Care Display Certification, which is pretty ideal for those hooking up to a screen 24×7. At the same time, the peak brightness is rated at 300nits which is okay for a laptop by the way. Talking of the color gamut, it covers 45% NTSC.
And on my usage period, I found out to be a “more than enough screen’ for work, multimedia, and content watching. So, you get sorted with everyday tasks, be it surfing the web, watching a movie, or writing some articles.
As for the audio, you get an upward-facing stereo speaker setup with Dolby Atmos support. For indoor usage, it’s all good while I would have loved it more if they were a bit louder.

Likewise, the laptop houses a Full HD webcam with a privacy shutter to prevent you from being snitched. The quality is just very fine and much better than 720p cameras, hence it’s good to go for your Zoom meetings or casual video calls.
Ports and Keyboard
Also, you get a pretty decent amount of port options here. There are two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports on the right side along with a microSD card reader. Moving to the left, you are greeted with two USB Type-C ports which both support fast 65W PD charging.

But as usual, there is no Thunderbolt 4 support, given that it is an ultrabook with a ‘Ryzen CPU’. (Because AMD Laptops generally do not support Thunderbolt ports). Last but not least is a 3.5mm audio jack and an HDMI 1.4 port.
And talking of the keyboard, you get a 6-row keyboard, with a number pad and also the multimedia Function keys for those handy music playback controls. The typing experience is very good on this thing while the trackpad is also super responsive. And yeah, it’s a backlit one, sufficing the need for use in the dark.
Performance
Alright, let’s head toward the performance side of things. Running the show on the core of this particular Ideapad Slim 5 model is a Ryzen 5 7530U processor. This new AMD CPU is a ‘Deja Vu’ of the Ryzen 5 5625U with minimal improvements and a higher clock speed at 4.5GHz vs 4.3GHz. And following the usual norm, you don’t get discrete graphics here, hence it relies on the default AMD Radeon graphics instead.
Day to Day usage feels smooth and lag-free. I mostly used this guy for writing blogs with multiple Chrome tabs opened, Spotify, and Adobe Photoshop running in the background. And, the experience was as expected, “Super Fine”. By the way, my unit came with 16GB RAM, hence it provided me with a superb multitasking experience.
It is soldered to the system and hence, nonupgradeable. Speaking of the storage, it is a 1TB PCle Gen 4.0 SSD but, the speed is limited to a PCle Gen 3.0’s SSD due to system limitations as per Lenovo. Still, the R/W speed is fast enough for normal users.
Let’s talk about gaming now, shall I? Okay, I played CPU-intensive games like CS Go and Valorant on this guy, and the outcome was satisfactory. On low settings, I got an average of 104 fps while Valorant on similar settings got me 131 fps.
Battery and Charging
The battery life of this laptop is just awesome. It packs a 76Wh battery and I got 7 hours of screen time on normal usage with 90% brightness turned on most of the time. If you are someone who lowers their brightness to 50% or even less, expect an hour or two extra hours of battery life. And you can fill up the juice in less than two hours with the provided 65W Type-C charger. Or else, you can use any 65W PD compatible charger too.
Having used it for more than a week, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5 sufficed my daily browsing and working tasks. I absolutely loved the aluminum build with Miltary Standard certification. If you compare it to the last year’s model, there are no major improvements on the performance side, but the 76Wh battery definitely steals the show here from the 56WH of the last-gen IdeaPad Slim 5.
Those seeking for an ultrabook with the proper build quality and enough performance for casual usage, this guy stands as a considerable option at the price of NPR 104,000. Not to forget, you’re getting 1TB SSD storage and 16GB RAM at this price.
