Samsung Galaxy A07 coming soon with 6 years of updates for budget users

0

Samsung’s budget lineup might be getting a new member soon. Word is that the Galaxy A07 is in the works, and from what we’re hearing, it’s packing some decent specs for what’s likely to be an affordable price point. This article will discuss everything about the rumored Samsung Galaxy A07, including leaks, specifications, and expected availability.

Samsung Galaxy A07 Rumors

Display and Design

Samsung Galaxy A07 Design and Display

You’re getting a 6.7-inch HD+ LCD screen with 90Hz refresh rate. That’s pretty solid for a super budget phone like this – as most cheap devices still stick to 60Hz, so Samsung’s stepping up their game here. Meanwhile, for resolution, the display runs at 720 × 1600 pixels.  The phone comes with IP54 water and dust resistance. It’s not full waterproofing, but it’ll handle light splashes and dust without breaking a sweat.

Performance and Software

At its core will be MediaTek’s Helio G99 chipset built on 6nm process. This isn’t Samsung’s own Exynos, but the G99 has been doing well in other budget phones, so for a phone that is sub 15,000, this is actually good. You’re looking at either 4GB or 6GB RAM options, with storage likely starting at 64GB and going up to 128GB.

Rumors suggest it’ll launch with Android 15 right out of the box. That’s pretty impressive for a budget device, especially since many phones are still catching up to Android 15. But the most interesting part is the 6 years of software updates. If true, that’s flagship-level support for a budget phone. Samsung’s been pushing longer update cycles lately, so this could be real.

Camera and Battery

Details are still sketchy, but we’re hearing about a dual rear camera setup with a 50MP main sensor. Battery capacity hasn’t leaked yet, though Samsung usually packs decent batteries in their A-series phones.

Samsung Galaxy A07 Specifications

  • Display: 6.7-inch HD+ LCD, 90Hz refresh rate
  • Processor: MediaTek Helio G99 (6nm)
  • RAM: 4GB/6GB options
  • Storage: 64GB/128GB, expandable via microSD

  • Water Resistance: IP54 rating
  • OS: Android 15 (rumored)
  • Colors: Grey/Dark Blue, Green, Light Blue

Samsung Galaxy A07 Rumors and Availability

The Galaxy A07 is expected to launch sometime in July 2025. Based on leaked pricing from India starting at ₹9,499 (around $115), when it makes it to Nepal it would start at no less than NPR 15,000.

Honor’s next flip phone, the “Magic V Flip 2”, is launching next week

Honor has officially confirmed that it’s launching the Magic V Flip 2 next week. It’s the successor to the original Magic V Flip, and it seems Honor will once again be collaborating with fashion designer Jimmy Choo for this guy. So let’s jump into all the details regarding its launch, specs, and availability.

Honor Magic V Flip 2 Overview

A new design

The official images show that the Magic V Flip 2 will come with 4 tints. Those being white, purple, grey, and blue jewel. The blue jewel design will be the special edition in collaboration with designer Jimmy Choo. There was also a special edition for the Magic V Flip featuring Mr. Choo.

Honor Magic V Flip 2 design

Honor has decided to keep the large external display as seen in the Honor Magic V Flip. However, it will come with a dual-camera setup now. This change will replace the previously mismatched lens that we found in its predecessor.

Along with that, the flash will be placed in the lower half of the phone, which was done to maximize usable screen area. We will also be seeing an edge-to-edge 4-inch cover screen, one of the largest in its segment.

From what we know so far, the Magic V Flip 2 will feature a 5,500 mAh battery that supports 80W charging. The company plans to equip the device with a 50MP main camera, and we’re hoping the second camera is a telephoto unit this time. And unfolded, it will host a 6.8-inch FHD+ LTPO OLED display.

A Snapdragon chip

When it comes to performance, the Magic V Flip 2 is said to have the Snapdragon 8 series chipset. The first-gen Magic V Flip had Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 instead of the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, so we’re expecting Honor to follow a similar pattern this time as well. By maybe going with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4.

Apple could launch an affordable MacBook powered by its iPhone chip

Apple is reportedly preparing to launch a new low-cost MacBook powered by the A18 Pro chip — the same processor found in the iPhone 16 Pro. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, this could mark the first time an iPhone-class chip powers a Mac, diverging from the M-series chips used in current Apple Silicon Macs.

Apple A18 Pro MacBook rumors

iPhone chip in a Mac?

Kuo shared via X (formerly Twitter) that the upcoming MacBook will feature a 12.9-inch display and the A18 Pro chip. Unlike their M-series chips, which support higher core counts, more memory, and advanced external display configurations, the A18 Pro is designed for mobile performance and efficiency.

Apple A18 Pro Chipset

This change signals Apple’s effort to broaden its MacBook lineup to appeal to more budget-conscious users, including those switching from Windows and Chromebook devices.

The affordable MacBook from Apple is expected to come in multiple finishes that include Silver, Blue, Pink, and Yellow, which is reminiscent of the colorful iMac lineup. These new additions could make the product more appealing to younger users or students.

Production timeline and strategy

Mass production for the new MacBook is expected to begin either late in Q4 2025 or early in Q1 2026. Apple aims to ship around 5–7 million units of this model in 2026, which could boost total MacBook shipments from the current 17–18 million units by 30–40%, reaching 25 million — a level last seen during the COVID-era boom. The company is also expected to rely on Everwin Precision, a Chinese manufacturer, as a key supplier for the MacBook’s casing.

Apple A18 Pro MacBook Pricing and Rumors

The upcoming MacBook is rumored to be priced between USD 599 and USD 699, making it around USD 400 cheaper than the current most affordable MacBook — the USD 999 13-inch M4 MacBook Air.

Vivo’s mixed reality headset — the Vivo Vision — is launching pretty soon

Vivo Vision, which was first showcased at the Boao Forum for Asia, is finally approaching its official launch. This Apple Vision Pro competition has a strikingly familiar design, although the company says its challenger will be a lot more comfortable and “addictive”.

What is the Vivo Vision?

A familiar design

The Vivo Vision is a mixed reality (MR) headset that — as mentioned before — looks almost identical to Apple’s Vision Pro. Its grey fabric facial interface, rear strap, external battery, and connector look almost identical.

The only notable difference is the side arms of the headset, which appear to be shiny with a metallic finish.

Vivo Vision Unveiled in China

Vivo’s Product Manager, Han Boxiao, highlighted key impressions from his experience with this device. He claimed that the Vivo Vision felt extremely light and compared its comfort to wearing AirPods Max over-ear headphones.

Although the details remain undisclosed, they are likely to be around 350 to 400 grams when it launches. Which would make it a lot more lightweight than the Vision Pro (600 – 650 grams).

Functionality

Till now, Vivo has not released the technical specifications of its first mixed reality headset or what it can do. Since only a handful of people inside the company have had the opportunity to test it. Alongside CCTV (China Central Television) host Zhu Guangquan, who got to try it out as well.

And based on that demo, we know that the Vivo Vision will have similar gesture controls as the Vision Pro. While it seems this mixed reality headset will have a separate battery puck as well. Vivo also confirmed that the headset will be powered by a Qualcomm processor, including it among high-end mixed reality devices.

You may also like:

When is the Vivo Vision launching?

Just today, Vivo has officially announced the launch of the mixed reality headset. The company has decided to unveil the Vivo Vision on August 21 in China. This headset will be the second MR headset from an established Android company. However, it will not be commercially available but rather as an “exploration edition,” where users can register for an in-store trial to test the product.

Honor Power 2 to house a gigantic 10,000 mAh battery!

Back in April, Honor launched a mid-range smartphone — the Honor Power — with a huge 8,000 mAh battery. And now, we already have reports coming in claiming that the Honor Power 2 will take things a step further with a bigger 10,000 mAh battery.

What to expect from Honor Power 2

According to the reliable tipster Digital Chat Station, we now know that Honor has already started testing Honor Power 2 with a 10,000 mAh battery. And of course, what makes this feat super impressive is that it’s not a rugged phone.

Honor Power design
Image: Honor Power

And instead, we expect it to maintain a slim profile as its predecessor, which measured just 7.98mm thick. While weighing just 209 grams. That is diabolical for a smartphone with a battery of that caliber!

You may also like:

Chipset combination

Another piece of the puzzle that has been revealed is the chipset that will be suited to the phone.

MediaTek Dimensity chip

The rumor hints that Honor Power 2 will be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 8500. This yet-unannounced chip looks to be a sub-flagship processor built on TSMC’s 4nm process, which reportedly scores a 2 million+ score in AnTuTu.

If that turns out to be true, the Power 2 will brag an impressive performance upgrade over the original Honor Power’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 3.

When will Honor Power 2 launch?

Since Honor has already started testing this phone, we expect it to launch by the first half of 2026. It will likely follow a similar timeline to the Honor Power phone, which launched in April 2025.

However, Honor is not the only one working with a larger battery phone. We know Xiaomi has started developing a phone with a 9,000 mAh battery as well. We will keep you updated with all the latest details on these phones, so watch out for this space for more.
