Samsung is preparing to launch Galaxy A56 in couple of days

0

Samsung is preparing to launch its next mid-range smartphone, the Galaxy A56 in the first week of March. Part of the popular A50 series, the Galaxy A56 is set to follow the same trend of offering a premium build and reliable camera performance. The A50 series has consistently been a strong performer in the mid-range market, and the A56 looks to continue that tradition. In this article, I will be talking about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A56, including its rumors and leaks.

Samsung Galaxy A56 Rumors

Design and Display

The images of the Samsung Galaxy A56 have surfaced online and this somewhat looks like the Samsung Galaxy A16. It has a sleek, minimalistic aesthetic with a triple rear camera setup arranged vertically in a black module on the left side. You will also see an LED flash next to the camera island. Rumors hint that the button you see (below) on the right side is ‘Key Island’ — not sure what exactly this is for!

Samsung Galaxy A56 leaked image

This smartphone has a flat display with rounded corners. Moreover, the bezels look slim and on the top, you can see a center hole-punch selfie camera.

New Exynos 1580 Chipset

One of the key changes in the Samsung Galaxy A56 is its new Exynos 1580 chipset. This is a significant update from the Exynos 1480 used in the Galaxy A55. The Exynos 1480 had issues with overheating during gaming and could not match the performance of competitors like Snapdragon and Dimensity chips in terms of FPS stability.

exynos 1580 chipset

In contrast, the Exynos 1580 shows improved specs that could resolve some of these performance problems. The chipset comes with 8 CPU cores, including:

  • 1x prime core at 2.91GHz for single-core performance,
  • 3x mid-cores at 2.60GHz,
  • 4x efficiency cores at 1.95GHz.

Graphics and Gaming Improvements

The GPU is also upgraded to the Xclipse 540, which could be based on AMD’s RDNA 3 architecture. This GPU is a step up from the previous Xclipse 530 and might offer better gaming performance and graphics capabilities.

Software and Rest

The Galaxy A56 is expected to feature 8GB of RAM, though other configurations may also be available. It will run on Android 15, offering the latest software updates. Additionally, this smartphone is expected to offer 45W wired charging.

Samsung Galaxy A56 Pricing and Launch Date

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy A56 will launch on March 2nd in India. It will priced in the NPR 60-66k range just like its predecessors.  We can expect more details about the device soon.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra is launching soon with exceptional camera sensor

The most anticipated phone from Xiaomi is finally official! I am talking about the Xiaomi 15 Ultra here. This phone packs an impressive camera sensor. Let’s dive into everything you can expect from the Xiaomi 15 Ultra.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra Overview

Xiaomi has officially teased a promotional poster with some of the specs on it. The phone will be launched in China on February 27, 2025, and we’re already hearing a lot about what it’s bringing to the table.

 The star of the show

When it comes to the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, the camera is definitely the highlight. Xiaomi claims that this camera setup will raise the bar, especially when compared to rivals like the Vivo X200 Ultra and Oppo Find X8 Ultra. The phone is packed with a brand-new 1-inch main sensor and a massive 200MP periscope telephoto lens.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra Camera samples

The periscope lens offers a larger 9.4mm aperture for better light intake, as well as ultra-high resolution, a 100mm focal length, and an f/2.6 aperture. What makes this even more exciting is the 200mm and 400mm lossless zoom capabilities, letting you capture sharp and detailed images from a distance.

Plus, Xiaomi is introducing the “Lecia Ultra-Pure Optical System” to enhance clarity. The company has named this lens “Night God” which emphasizes making low-light photography a snap. Rumor has it that the camera will feature a Samsung HP9 lens, replacing the 50MP Sony IMX858 from the Xiaomi 14 Ultra.

Design and Display

On the design front, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra looks fine as hell. The large, circular camera module on the back holds the Leica-branded quad-camera setup. The phone will come in White, Black, and Black/Silver Chrome color. The latter has a dual-tone color scheme, with a matte black finish and a silver chrome option for that extra premium touch. “Ultra” is carved next to the camera island for a finishing touch.

New Lenovo ThinkBooks just landed in Nepal but…

A couple of new Thinkbooks and ThinkPads just landed in Nepal and we are on the way to giving each of them their own spotlight. While the modern ThinkPads were certainly exciting, and the Yogas had a unique value proposition, the ThinkBooks we are covering today have a little less intrigue to them. Regardless, these are pretty good notebook-style devices so let’s take a quick look at the spec sheet and official prices of the Lenovo Thinkbook 14 G7s in Nepal alongside with their availability details.

Lenovo ThinkBook 14 G7 Overview

Yet another new MediaTek chipset with the same old story!

MediaTek has officially unveiled two new chipsets in its Dimensity lineup. Here we are talking about the  MediaTek Dimensity 7400 and Dimensity 7400X, successors to last year’s Dimensity 7300. The latter is particularly focused on flip-style foldable phones with dual-display support. Let’s dive into the details of these two new processors.

MediTek Dimesity 7400 and 7400X Overview

Performance

When it comes to raw performance, there isn’t a massive leap in improvements. Both the Dimensity 7400 and 7400X feature an octa-core CPU with 4x Arm Cortex-A78 cores running at 2.6GHz and 4x Arm Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0GHz. So, it’s pretty much a slight bump in clock speed from the previous generation. The good news is both chips are built on TSMC’s 4nm process, and they bring power savings by 14% less power for the 7400 and 36% less for the 7400X during gaming in comparison to other chips in the market.

As for graphics, MediaTek hasn’t made many changes here either. Both chips feature the old Arm Mali-G615 MC2 GPU but this time with support MediaTek’s Advanced Gaming Technology (MAGT) 3.0. On the good side, the Neural Processing Unit (NPU) has been upgraded with a 15% performance boost over the Dimensity 7300.

Memory and Rest

In terms of memory, the Dimensity 7400 supports LPDDR5 and LPDDR4x up to 6400 Mbps (same again), with storage compatibility for UFS 3.1 and UFS 2.2.

For camera performance, you’re getting the Imagiq 950 ISP, which can handle up to 200MP cameras and 4K HDR video recording at 30fps. It also comes with AI-driven autofocus, video EIS, and hardware face detection for better photography and video quality.

MediaTek Dimensity 7400

On the display side, MediaTek’s MiraVision 955 engine supports vibrant visuals, offering options like WFHD+ at 120Hz or Full HD+ at 144Hz. Connectivity is top-notch with 5G support, offering a peak downlink speed of 3.37 Gbps. Plus you get a tri-band WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4.

What sets them apart?

Although the Dimensity 7400 and 7400X have almost identical specs, the 7400X is for foldable devices, with a focus on improved power efficiency. On the other hand, the regular Dimensity 7400 is for more traditional smartphones. So, while there are some small improvements in comparison to the 7300, these new chips don’t bring any game-changing upgrades. In many ways, it’s fair to call them a rebrand of the 7300, much like how the Dimensity 6400 was a rebrand of the 6300.

MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Availability

The first smartphones featuring the Dimensity 7400 and 7400X will hit the market in Q1 2025. However, the Dimensity 6400 is already available on some devices now.

Apple develops in-house Modem for future devices

0

Apple is moving away from Qualcomm modems with its in-house modem lineup, starting with the C1 in the iPhone 16e. The company is now working on the C2 and C3 modems, intending to improve performance and efficiency. This article will discuss everything we know so far about the C1, C2, and C3  Modems.

Apple C1, C2, and C3 Modem Overview

First-Gen Custom Modem

Apple C1 Modems

Apple introduced the C1 modem in the iPhone 16e. It features a dual-architecture design with a 7nm transceiver and a 4nm baseband. The modem is optimized to work with Apple’s A18 processor, enhancing performance and battery life. Apple claims it allows up to 26 hours of video playback per charge. However, it lacks mmWave 5G support.

Future Modems: C2 and C3

Apple is already testing the C2 modem, expected to debut in the iPhone 18 lineup in 2026. This modem is set to support mmWave 5G, addressing a key limitation of the C1. The C3 modem is planned for a 2027 launch, with Apple aiming to surpass Qualcomm’s modem performance.

Potential Expansion to Other Devices

Apple’s custom modem development is not limited to iPhones. Reports suggest that Apple may integrate its modems into future iPads and MacBooks. The company has previously explored MacBooks with cellular connectivity but has yet to launch a model. A custom modem could make this feasible in upcoming devices.

Long-Term Transition Away from Qualcomm

Apple has been developing its own modems since 2018, seeking independence from Qualcomm. Despite this, Apple extended its modem supply agreement with Qualcomm through March 2027.
