Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5i Gen 10 (2025) announced with an OLED screen!

Among the many refreshes at CES 2025, Lenovo also updated its IdeaPad Pro lineup with a new Pro 5i Gen Gen 10 with a powerful Intel processor and a beautiful OLED screen. Here’s let’s explore the new Lenovo IdeaPad 5i Pro Gen 10 (2025) alongside its features, and specs, with expected price in Nepal and availability.

Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5i Gen 10 (2025) Overview

Design and Display

The Idepad Pro 5i is catered for those users who want an on-the-go productivity machine. As such, despite housing powerful H-series processors, it is quite sleek (<16mm thin) and easy to lug around (1.72 kg). It’s available in Luna Grey and Polar Blue colorways with an all-aluminum chassis.

Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5i Gen 10 Design

As for the display, you get a gorgeous OLED screen with a variable refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The spacious 16” canvas paired with a high pixel density (~221 PPI) makes for an immersive viewing experience for both productivity as well as entertainment. The panel can dial down to as low as 30Hz (refresh rate) to preserve battery or can go up to 1100 nits (peak brightness) during movies to amplify immersion. The display is also X-Rite color calibrated out of the factory and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 gamut.

Performance and Memory

The IdeaPad Pro 5i (2025) is an Intel Evo machine running up to a Core Ultra 9 H series processor. That’s a pretty beefy chip and can go up to 135W in the IdeaPad. There are no dedicated graphics in such a slim notebook but you do get Intels’ upgraded Arc graphics integrated alongside the CPU.

A similar story is the memory which is pretty fast (8533MHz) but non-upgradable. But 32GB of RAM alongside 1TB of NVME SSD should be plenty for most office and productivity needs. Nevertheless, there are dual M.2 slots for future expansion just in case.

Battery and Extras

The IdeaPad Pro 5i Gen 10 is running off a large 84Wh battery powered via the Type-C port at up to 100W. There’s another Thunderbolt 4 port as well, alongside two type-A ports, an SD reader, a full-sized HDMI, and an audio jack. The ultrabook also has WiFi 7 support for fast wireless connectivity.

On the top, there’s a 1080p IR webcam with Windows Hello support while you also get a dual speaker setup with Dolby Atmos. The keyboard and trackpad look pretty nice too with 1.5mm of travel and glass topping respectively.

Nepali IT companies now allowed to invest abroad

0

The Nepali government has approved a decision allowing IT companies to invest and open branch offices abroad. The Cabinet approved the move on January 26, following amendments to the Foreign Regulation Act, 2019. This article will discuss the latest decision by the cabinet in more detail.

Foreign Investment for IT Companies Overview

Whats new?

IT Company

The amendments to the law now enable Nepali companies to repatriate income earned from foreign markets. This legal change encourages global expansion for Nepali IT companies while supporting Nepal’s economic growth. The primary goal of this decision is to help Nepali IT companies compete internationally. In addition, it aims to generate foreign income, which is expected to strengthen Nepal’s economy.

Process for Foreign Investment

Companies looking to invest abroad will need to apply to the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology. The Ministry will assess the company’s capacity before granting approval. After approval, Nepal Rastra Bank will assist with the foreign currency exchange process.

Industry Reactions

According to Kantipur, some industry experts welcomed the decision, seeing it as a positive step for the growth of the IT sector and a move towards achieving the $6 billion export target over the next decade. However, others raised concerns about the lack of clarity regarding earlier investment provisions and the potential for restrictions. There were calls for more flexible policies to manage investments and skilled manpower effectively.

Economic Impact

In 2022, IT exports contributed $515 million to Nepal’s economy. IT services accounted for 1.4% of GDP and 5.5% of the country’s foreign exchange reserves.

Additional Provisions

The government plans to offer tax benefits for IT companies operating in special economic zones, aiming to foster job creation and attract foreign contracts. This move is also expected to help maintain backend operations in Nepal.

Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G launched in Nepal with some changes in camera and battery

0

The Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G was unveiled a while ago in China and India. And this guy has gone official in Nepal with some changes to the camera and battery side. Let’s discuss more on the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G in further detail including its official price in Nepal.

Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G Overview

Design and Display

Right from the get-go, it is pretty clear that Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G is trying to emulate what the higher-end Note offering did last year. Among the available designs, a single purple color option sticks out the most with a vegan leather finish — similar to the Note 13 Pro+! Additionally, the phone comes with IP68 water and dust resistance — pretty reminiscent of you know which phone. It also dons a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front adding to its toughness. The overall design has been overhauled with a reshaped and relocated camera island.

Redmi Note 13 Pro Design

We are getting a 6.67-inch 12-bit OLED screen with 1.5K resolution on the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G. Moreover, it is capable of up to 120Hz refresh rate, 3,000 nits peak brightness, and 480Hz touch sampling rate. In the meantime, the instantaneous touch sampling rate on the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G is much higher at 2,560Hz. Not only that, but it also offers wet hands touch support, 1,920Hz PWM dimming, DCI-P3 color gamut, HDR10+ and has a triple certification from TÜV Rheinland for eye protection features.

Performance

Along with the aesthetic, the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G gets an upgrade on the performance side of things as well. Firstly, the new phone houses the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultra, which is decently better than the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 on its predecessor. It is available in two configurations, those being: 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB. Likewise, the battery is 5,110 mAh. However, the charging speed has dropped to 45W from 67W, which is still plenty fast.

Camera and the rest

The camera department gets some adjustments too. Xiaomi has once again gone for a 200MP main sensor on the global variant, ditching the 50MP Sony LYT-600 sensor found on the Indian and Chinese variants. Other than that, the auxiliary lenses remain unchanged with an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro shooter. Meanwhile, the selfie snapper is now a 20MP unit instead of the 16MP on the previous iteration.

Redmi Note 13 Pro Camera

The Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G supports dual SIM 5G cellular and dual-band WiFi 6 connectivity. Furthermore, you get Bluetooth v5.4 alongside high-quality codecs like LDAC and LHDC-V. There is also NFC, five-way navigation support, and IR blaster as additional wireless connectivity options. Other than that, there is a stereo speaker setup and an X-axis linear motor to enhance the gaming and multimedia experience.

The core design of both phones remains the same, however, the Redmi has given the Note 14 5G enough tweaks to be visually distinguishable. The camera cutout has grown larger, while the back panel has gone back to being curved. Similarly, the camera island has gone a bit softer with the edge and the LED flash has shifted a coupled millimetres up. Redmi Note 14 4G goes official in Nepal with Helio G99 SoC

0

Redmi is going bonanza with the Redmi Note 14 Series launch. The Xiaomi subbrand took the curtains off from the 4G iteration of the Note 14 as well alongside the Note 14 Pro 4G. And the former has launched in Nepal. This vanilla model gets a Helio G99 SoC and a 108MP camera. In this article, we’ll walk through the specs, features, and official price of the Redmi Note 14 4G price in Nepal.

Redmi Note 14 4G Overview:

Design and Display

To start with, the Redmi Note 14 4G slightly distinguishes itself from last year’s Note 13 4G. The frames are still flat here while the camera module gets a refresh with a squarish look. Meanwhile, the IP54 rating remains unchanged.

Redmi Note 14 4G Design and Display

On the display side, you are greeted with a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1800nits of peak brightness. This 8-bit panel gets Gorilla Glass 5 protection, 960Hz of PWM dimming, and 240Hz of touch sampling rate.

Performance

Running the things from the core on the Redmi Note 14 4G is a Helio G99 SoC. The same 6nm chip from the Note 13 Pro 4G from last year, which is actually fine for the price, this thing carries. Memory-wise, the base variant starts at 6/128GB while the upper trim is 8/256GB. Meanwhile, booting the Note 14 4G is Xiaomi HyperOS based on Android 14.

Optics

Getting to the cameras, you get a triple-camera setup. But the 8MP ultrawide camera bids farewell this time and all we have is a 108MP main camera with useless 2MP + 2MP macro and depth units. But thanks to HyperOS, you do get some flavor of some AI stuff such as AI erase, AI Sky, and such.

Redmi Note 14 4G Camera

Battery and Others

Fueling the Redmi Note 14 4G is a 5500mAh battery with 33W fast wired charging support. Connectivity options include 4G, WiFi 5 (dual-band), Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port. Furthermore, you get an indisplay fingerprint reader and Dolby Atmos powered dual setup speaker.

The new Nitro gaming laptops have slightly different designs for the Intel and AMD versions. The prior has an accented lid while the Nitro V 15 AI (AMD) goes for a more cleaner look. Both sport the same dimensions and weight though continuing the ‘thin-light’ budget gaming legacy.

As for the display, you can configure the Acer Nitro V 15 lineup for 2025 with up to an FHD 180Hz IPS screen with 100% sRGB colors. It’s a 15.6” panel with standard 16:9 resolution but other details haven’t been disclosed yet.

Nitro V 15 (Intel)  and Nitro V 15 AI (AMD)

You can pick up the Nitro V 2025 with either an Intel or AMD chip. For the blue side, you can go up to a Core 7 (Raptor Lake Refresh) processor while the latter houses up to a Ryzen 7 8845HS Hawk Point CPU. As for the AI bit in the name, the Ryzen chip has a built-in NPU that can deliver up to 16 TOPS. However, it’s helpful to note that both versions can be had with up to an NVIDIA RTX 4050 (75W*) GPU which is far more powerful for AI stuff (194 TOPS) besides just gaming.

That being said, Acer only ships its AI-based PurifiedVoice and PurifiedView applications with the NPU-having AMD version so you’ll likely be missing out on clear calls, and background bokehs on the Intel V 15.

Memory and Extras

On the memory side of things, you can get up to 32GB of DDR5 alongside up to 2TB of NVME Gen 4 SSD. Number of SO-DIMM and M.2 slots hasn’t been disclosed but you’ll likely have dual RAM slots and a single M.2 2242 slot just like its predecessor.

There’s much that’s not out there yet including the battery size, WiFi chip, generation of ports, and whatnot but they’ll likely be similar to the older Nitro V 15 models

Redmi Note 14 Pro 4G is official with Helio G100 Ultra and 200MP camera

0

The Redmi Note 14 Series has gone global with two additional models: the Note 14 4G and Note 14 Pro 4G. This article will focus on the Pro version with a Helio G100 Ultra SoC and 200MP camera. Without further ado, let’s head straight into the specs, features, pricing, and availability details.

Redmi Note 14 Pro 4G Overview:

Design and Display

Design-wise, the Redmi Note 14 Pro doesn’t distinguish it from its 5G sibling. The square camera module, curved middle frame, and a curved display upfront. Unlike the 5G version with a proper IP68 rating, you only get an IP64 rating here. Talking of the latter, it’s a Xiaomi favorite— the most used— 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 1800nits of peak brightness, and a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. Redmi ships this guy in three colorways: Ocean Blue, Midnight Black, and Aurora Purple.

Performance

Under the hood, the 4G version goes for a Helio G100-Ultra chipset. It’s a 6nm fabbed silicon which is more or less similar to Helio G99 used on the last-gen Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G. So, do not expect a major performance boost, except slight ones. Likewise, Redmi has paired the chip with 8/12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128/256GB/512GB of internal storage. Meanwhile, booting this guy is Xiaomi HyperOS built on top of Android 14, not Android 15 sadly.

Camera

Talking of the optics part, the setup remains unchanged from the last year. Yeah, a 200MP main (OIS), an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro unit. But with some AI features like AI Erase Pro and AI Beautify. In terms of videography, there is still no 4K recording here sadly. So, 1080p 60fps is all you can go at max. Moreover, you get a 32MP snapper upfront for taking selfies and video calls.

Battery, Charging, and Others

Moving on, fueling the smartphone is a 5500mAh battery paired with 45W of fast charging. Connectivity features include WiFi 5, 4G, VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. Furthermore, you get an indisplay fingerprint scanner for biometrics and Dolby Dolby-powered dual stereo setup for music and media consumption.
