Apple first unveiled the iOS 26 update back in June at its WWDC event. iOS 26 marks one of the most transformative updates in iPhone history. Skipping from iOS 18 to 26 to align naming across platforms, this update introduces the visually striking “Liquid Glass” design language, deeper integration of Apple Intelligence (AI), and a host of new features. And now, Apple has rolled out the stable public release of iOS 26 update to various iPhones as well.

Liquid Glass design

The standout feature in iOS 26 is definitely the new “Liquid Glass” interface. This design brings a fresh, fluid aesthetic to the iPhone experience, replacing static elements with dynamic, translucent layers that respond to movement and touch.

Inspired by visionOS, this new visual language gives the interface a glass-like sheen, making it feel more immersive and alive. From floating widgets and rounded tab bars to animated transitions that mimic liquid motion, Liquid Glass adds depth and personality while maintaining the familiar usability of iOS.

From icons and widgets to tab bars and the keyboard, everything now exhibits a floating, glassy aesthetic. Even system animations have been reimagined, such as the water droplet effect in the Clock app’s tab bar or translucent layers over wallpaper and text.

Moreover, the Lock Screen adapts dynamically to images and notifications, while wallpapers gain 3D-like spatial scenes, reminiscent of Nintendo 3DS effects. Customization options extend to app icons and widgets, now offering a clearer and more expressive look.

Apple Intelligence comes alive on iOS 26

iOS 26 deepens the integration of Apple Intelligence, ensuring that tasks are not only smarter but handled on-device for better privacy. From live translation in calls and messages to on-screen visual understanding, AI now plays a central role in user experience.

This update also brings a new “Ask” tool and image recognition, which lets users take a screenshot and highlight elements for more information, shopping, or contextual actions. We have already seen something similar in Google’s “Circle to Search” on Android devices.

A newly added feature on iOS 26 called “Smart Shortcuts” now incorporates Apple Intelligence, unlocking context-aware actions, auto-suggested responses, and even personalized order tracking from email content. Developers can also tap into Apple’s foundation models using a new API framework.

Communication, reimagined

The redesigned Phone app now includes tabs for Favorites, Recents, and Voicemail, all in one scrollable view. “Call Screening” only rings your device after unknown callers state their name and purpose. Whereas “Hold Assist” will alert users when a customer service rep is available after long waits. Once again, these are something we’ve seen on Pixel phones for a while now.

The Messages app adds support for AI-generated chat backgrounds, polling in group chats, and Apple Cash transfers on iOS 26. Screening tools now silence and sort messages from unknown senders into a dedicated folder until reviewed.

FaceTime introduces video messages and personalized contact posters. Integrated Live Translation offers real-time audio and caption translation during calls.

Redesigned core apps

The Camera app gets a simplified Liquid Glass interface with easier access to quality settings. In Photos, 2D images can now be converted into immersive 3D Spatial Scenes. Tabs for Library and Collections make organization simpler.

Safari now features a floating, adaptable tab bar that shrinks during browsing and expands when needed, offering a distraction-free experience.

Apple Music gets lyrics translation, pronunciation tools, 3D album artwork on the Lock Screen, and AutoMix for seamless transitions. Music Pins lets users bookmark favorite songs, artists, or genres.

Enhanced experiences with iOS 26

iOS 26 transforms the in-car experience with a Liquid Glass-inspired CarPlay design. Widgets, Live Activities, and Tapbacks come to the dashboard. CarPlay Ultra allows for total system integration across vehicle screens, including climate and audio controls.

Apple Maps now learns user behavior for better commuting suggestions and introduces Visited Places to revisit previous locations. The Wallet app features a more intuitive boarding pass UI and supports Find My trackers and flight status sharing.

A new playground for gamers

iOS 26 introduces a dedicated Games app, consolidating the gaming experience under one roof. Users can discover new titles, track updates, and join multiplayer sessions via tabs like Home, Arcade, Play Together, and Library.

The new generation of the Acer Aspire Spin 14 with Intel Core Ultra Series 1 “Meteor Lake” processor is finally making its way to Nepal. And the good thing about this 2-in-1 laptop is that Acer has provided a stylus for free, which you can securely store in the laptop itself. So without any delay, let’s dive into the specifications, features, and expected price in Nepal for Acer Aspire Spin 14 2025.

Design and display

Starting with design, the new Spin 14 is much like its predecessor. With a minimal look and thin bezels upfront. And since this is a 2-in-1 laptop, you can also fold it to use it like a tablet. The Aspire Spin 14 is pretty lightweight at just 1.5 kg, it’s available in a single “Steel Gray” finish, and you also get a standard backlit keyboard here.

Acer hasn’t wowed us with the display on this thing. We’re looking at a standard 14-inch IPS touchscreen with a WUXGA (1920 x 1200) resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. The company also mentions that this screen supports “BlueLightShield” technology to minimize the effect of blue light emission on your eyes.

It supports stylus input as well, and as I mentioned in the beginning, you get a stylus for free. The Acer Active Stylus has 4,096 pressure levels, support for tilt detection, and it sits inside the dedicated stylus slot on the right side of the laptop.

Performance and Memory

Getting to performance, the Acer Aspire Spin 14 2025 is powered by Intel’s 14th Gen “Meteor Lake” CPU. You have two options in total, which include:

Acer has paired it with either 8/16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of PCIe Gen4 SSD storage.

Battery and rest

The Acer Aspire Spin 14 features a modest 50Wh battery, which is pretty average for a 14-inch thin and light laptop. But according to Acer’s internal testing based on the MobileMark 2025 benchmark, this 2-in-1 laptop has a maximum battery backup of up to 9 hours. Moreover, it supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 wireless connectivity.

For a 14-inch laptop, the Aspire Spin 14 brings a pretty impressive port selection. Honor just dropped the Play10T in China. Recently, the company launched the Play 10 4G, which itself followed the Play 10c. But this new phone improves on that line with the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset and a massive battery. Display and Design

Starting off the display, the Play10T has a 6.77-inch LCD display with 2412×1080 resolution. For 2025, seeing a mid-range LCD smartphone feels a bit tired now as they could they not have perhaps afforded an AMOLED display? Anyway, the panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate and peaks at 700 nits of brightness. Which means, the chipset is not performance heavy, but you can still game Pubg and genshing impact at low settings.

It supports 45W wired charging and reverse charging, which means it lets you top up other devices. Oppo A6i launched in China with rugged design and 6000mAh battery

Oppo just launched the A6i in China as part of its entry-level lineup, alongside the A6 Pro (which we have covered here). The phone focuses on durability, a large battery, and 5G support. Now, let’s jump in this article, where i will discuss everything about the latest Oppo A6i, including its price, specifications, and practical relevance.

Oppo A6i Overview

Design and Build

The A6i uses what Oppo calls a Diamond Shield Frame, made from strengthened glass and high-strength aluminum alloy. But whether the name is just marketing or genuinely adds extra toughness remains to be seen, but it’s good to see companies at least trying to highlight durability, when budget phone appears so fragile these days. And at 7.99mm thick and 194 grams, the phone is reasonably slim and light for a “rugged” entry-level device. IP65 dust and water resistance and SGS 5-star drop certification give it an extra layer of protection as well.

Display

You’re getting a 6.56-inch LCD with 1604 × 720 resolution. The 120Hz refresh rate is nice, but that’s becoming standard even in budget phones. I wish entry-level devices came with AMOLED panels too that would really make the display pop. Oppo claims the screen is touch-responsive even with wet, oily, or gloved fingers. If it actually works as well as they claim, that’s a welcome addition as well.

Performance

At its heart, the A6i runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset. This chip is now on a spree, showing up in almost every budget 5G phone. I was literally talking about this in yesterday’s Realme P3 Lite 5G article and now the market is flooded with the same chipset. Although this chipset does handle daily tasks fairly well, light gaming is also fine, but midrange performance for demanding apps is limited here. Honestly I really hope phone makers start putting midrange chips like the 7 Gen 3 in budget phones soon, rather than recycling a 3–4-year-old chipset again and again.

Camera

The rear packs a 50MP main camera and a 2MP depth sensor. Daylight shots should be decent, but low-light performance will likely struggle. And even though Oppo has provided the 2MP depth sensor, which in all honesty is practically useless, something no better than a dummy camera inserted for marketing checkbox. The front 8MP selfie camera is fine for social media and video calls. Oppo includes AI features like portrait mode, dual-view video, object removal, and pixel-level zoom upscaling as well.

Battery and Charging

The A6i comes with a 6000mAh battery using graphite cells and “electrolyte recovery” tech. 45W SuperVOOC fast charging tops it up quickly. According to oppo, it charges 50% in 37 minutes, even at –20°C. Oppo claims up to 22 hours of calls or 19 hours of video playback, and the battery is rated for five years of use.

Software and Features

Running ColorOS 15, the A6i has AI functions like handwriting recognition, English tutoring, and math correction. Family and safety tools, health tracking via wearables, regional alerts, and fraud detection are also really nice touche by the Chinese company.

Vivo just dropped the Y31 5G in India. This budget-friendly device surprisingly features a flagship-level dust and water resistance and quite a large battery. Vivo Y31 5G Overview

Display and Design

The Y31 has a tall 6.68-inch LCD panel with HD+ resolution. The phone measures at 8.39mm, which i wouldn’t call a slim device in any meaningful sense of the word, only because most smartphones these days now measure less than 8mm, and almost at 8.8mm, you would also get the likes of Magic V5 and Z Fold 7. But considering the battery and for the price it comes, i think it’s commendable. Similarly, you get a simple, clean design with two color options: Diamond Green and Rose Red.

Performance

Under the hood, the Y31 runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, first launched in June 2023. The last device we covered with this chip was the X7c 5G, and Vivo isn’t new to it either — the Y300 and Y37 Pro in India used this SoC about a year ago. The 4 or 6GB RAM and 128GB storage handle things just okay. Heavy AAA games might need much lower settings, but for most users, performance is decent and reliable.

Camera

On the rear, there’s a 50MP AI dual camera setup that should takes decent daylight shots. The 8MP front camera works well for selfies and video calls. Vivo adds AI-powered features like AI Erase and Circle to Search, the latter is by far the best AI feature i have come across.

Battery and Durability

The 6,500mAh battery is big, but many budget phones today push 6,500 to 7,500mAh, so the number alone isn’t a head-turner. The real gem is the IP68 and IP69 rating full dust and water resistance at this price is rare. . The 44W wired fast charging is a welcoming factor for this device. The Y31 supports Bluetooth 4.2, dual-band WiFi, and a USB Type-C 2.0 port.

This 12-inch tablet, as Tecno calls it an ‘Essential AI Tablet’, is at the same time a “think study aid, productivity tool, and AI assistant all in one.” Although the company has not disclosed what chipset this guy uses, or what memory is paired with that chipset, the MegaPad Pro is still worth looking at with its new AI-related features. The MegaPad Pro packs a 12-inch 2K Ultra Sensory Display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 450 nits brightness. The screen covers 86% of the body, and it comes with low blue light certification.
