Honor is on the spree of launching new products. The Honor 300 Series was unveiled some days ago and the Chinese company has also launched two new laptops. Dubbed the Honor X16 Plus and X14 Plus, the duo share the same chip Intel Core i5-220H processor. The 2025 iterations of the Magicbook X Series bring a familiar design with Honor branding on the rear. The X16 Plus model weighs 1.79kg with an 18mm profile. Moving on, the Honor Magicbook X16 Plus gets its juice from a 75Wh battery while the X14 Plus has a 60Wh battery under the hood. Alongside its 300 series that housed the Honor 300, Honor 300 Pro, and Honor 300 Ultra, Honor also announced a pair of buds simply dubbed ‘EarBuds X8’. These are affordable TWS earbuds that don’t bring any kind of noise cancellation or fancy codec support but they do have a few tricks up their sleeves. Honor has finally unveiled the Honor 300 smartphone in China with a premium-looking design and Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset. It acts as a direct successor to the Honor 200 smartphone. In this article, let’s get into the specs, features, and expected price of Honor 300 in Nepal.

Design and Display

Starting with the design, the Honor 300 boasts a sleek profile with 6.97mm thickness and a flat frame build. The camera module takes an irregular pattern, although it maintains an aesthetic. Likewise, you also get an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance. Honor ships this guy in five shades: Luyan Purple, Yulong Snow, Cangshan Grey, Chaka Green, and Moyan Black.

Which is a very decent midrange chip as per our tests. Likewise, Honor has also infused a large area of stainless steel Bionic Vapor Chamber cooling to keep the thermals in check during intensive tasks and gaming. It is paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. Meanwhile, booting the Honor 300 is MagicOS 8, built on top of Android 15.

Getting to the optics section, the Honor 300 sports a dual camera setup, bidding farewell to the telephoto lens, sadly. So, you get a 1/1.56-inch Sony IMX906 main sensor with OIS + EIS stabilization and a 12MP ultrawide camera that also doubles as a macro camera. Upfront, there is a 50MP front camera for selfies and video calls. On the contrary, the Honor 200 had a 2.5X tele lens with Harcourt Portraits that turned out to be pretty nice!

Successor to the popular One X2, Insta360 launched the X3 in Nepal back in November last year. It has now received a sweet price drop in Nepal. Also, starting with this model, the company has dropped the “One” branding for its X-series action cameras. So let’s go through the specs, features, availability, and updated price of the Insta360 X3 in Nepal.

To begin, the X3 retains the candy bar shape of its predecessor. It does, however, include a new 2.29-inch touchscreen that replaces the X2’s circular display for easier viewing and control. Complementing this are two new glove-friendly buttons: one for accessing the customizable “Quick Menu,” and another for quickly switching between 360 and single-lens mode.

As for ingress protection, the X3’s screen is covered by tempered glass, and the device is waterproof to 33 feet. It’s also a pocket-sized action camera, weighing 180 grams and measuring 11.4 x 4.6 x 3.3 cm.

Features

There’s a new headliner in the Honor 300 series rocking the Ultra moniker. It’s got superior camera hardware, a fast chip, and great specs overall. So here, we’ll be taking a look at the Honor 300 Ultra, its specs and features, alongside expected price in Nepal and availability details.

Camera

Honor’s 300 Ultra boasts an impressive spec sheet with attention-catching camera hardware. The main sensor is a Sony IMX 906 with a size of 1/1.56″, and an aperture of f/1.95. There’s also a 12MP ultrawide lens with AF support while the star of the show is a 3.8x periscope zoom with up OIS and f/3.0 aperture. The periscope offers up to 100x digital zoom and is the only differentiating factor (in the camera department) from the Pro.

Regardless, the memory goes up to 16GB while the storage tops out at 1TB. The Ultra runs on Honor’s MagicOS 9.0 skin with lots of quirks and features of its own which we have covered in a separate article.

Like the Honor 300 Pro, the Ultra sports a boxier look based on last year’s 200 series. There’s a new ‘Portrait Master’ branding on the side with a triple camera island housing the headlining periscope lens. Overall the 300 Ultra is just as light as the Pro and shares pretty much the same dimensions with a sleek glass sandwich aesthetic and a curved screen on the front.

The 6.78″ FHD+ panel is shared among the Pro and Ultra siblings with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 4000 nits of peak brightness. However, the differentiating factor is a more secure ultrasonic fingerprint reader instead of an optical one found in the other Honor 300 devices. Regardless, the screen is protected by an ‘Honor Jurh’ glass and has a few noticeable features like 100% DCI P3 coverage and 3840 high-frequency PWM dimming.

Honor unveiled its 300 series of smartphones in China with the base Honor 300, Honor 300 Pro, and top-of-the-line Honor 300 Ultra. While the base variant is toned down with a weaker chip and fewer cameras, the Pro and Ultra bring Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 alongside triple rear shooters. In this article, we’ll shortly touch on the former including its features, availability details, and expected price in Nepal.

Design and Display

Honor continues with a similar design philosophy on the 300 series that we saw last year. The oval-ish camera island is now a bit boxier, but the curved screen and shimmery backs are here to stay. Color options for Pro include a clean ‘Ink Rock’ Black variant, the shiny ‘Chaka Green’, and a cozy ‘Starlight Sand’.

To cool the Snapdragon, there is a Vapor Chamber with a surface area of up to 36842mm². The memory here is up to 16GB of fast LPDDR5 RAM alongside up to 1TB of UFS storage. The 300 Pro boots on Android 15 with Honor’s MagicOS 9.0 on top.

Camera

Optics are a primary focus of the Honor 300 series. Hence, you are getting pretty good hardware, headlined by a 50MP Sony main camera. That’s complemented by a 12MP ultrawide alongside a 3x telephoto zoom lens.

Reading the fine print, you might notice that the primary is the IMX906 with a relatively large sensor size (1/1.56″), Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), and an f/1.95 aperture. The 12MP ultrawide has AutoFocus support and can take macro shots up close while the telephoto is the same IMX856 sensor that we saw in its predecessor.

Honor proudly marks the 300 series as ‘Portrait Master(s)’ and claims SLR-grade portraits backed up by an AI-backed photo engine. They also support the ‘Harcourt Portrait’ mode with signature lighting effects and colors from the Paris photography studio. The selfie camera is another 50MP shooter aided by a depth sensor, so expect a good show in that regard as well.

Is Starlink coming to Nepal soon? Here’s what we know so far!

A few days ago, Prime Minister of Nepal KP Sharma Oli, and Elon Musk were seen having a virtual meeting. During the conversation, Musk expressed his interest in expanding the Starlink service to Nepal, a project operated by Musk’s company SpaceX. In this article, I will explain what Starlink is and explore the potential benefits and challenges of its arrival in Nepal.

Starlink Internet in Nepal

Starlink is a satellite internet service created by SpaceX, and founded by Elon Musk. Its primary goal is to provide high-speed internet to remote and underserved areas through a network of small satellites orbiting Earth. Launched in 2019, Starlink aims to improve global connectivity while supporting SpaceX’s broader space exploration goals.

When is it coming? 

For the past two years, Starlink has been trying to enter Nepal, but the government has posed a significant hurdle. However, Musk seems determined to push forward. He recently held a video call with Prime Minister Oli, during which Musk expressed his desire to expand Starlink’s services to Nepal. Prime Minister Oli responded by stating that Nepal would welcome Starlink “with a red carpet,” but that a decision would first require an internal study.

 Additionally, the government spokesperson, Prithvi Subba Gurung, mentioned that Starlink would need to comply with Nepal’s laws in order to expand its services in the country.

What’s Musk cooking?

Starlink has already reached 113 countries, and Nepal could simply be another country in its expansion plan. But is it really about business, or is there a broader strategy at play? Given our relatively small population, Starlink may not gain significant financial benefits from the country alone. Could Musk be seeking a gateway to nearby markets like India and China through Nepal? Or is this expansion more about establishing a global presence and enhancing Starlink’s international image?

Pros and Cons of Starlink for Nepal

If Starlink successfully enters Nepal, it could bring high-speed internet to even the country’s most remote corners. Additionally, reliable internet service would help modernize and digitalize Nepal’s businesses. That being said, whatever greed Musk holds behind the start of StarLink in Nepal, I think this initiative is worth the try.

Not to mention there are a few challenges to consider. The base price of Starlink service is reportedly NPR 15,000 per month. This price is far beyond the reach of many Nepali citizens, although it may decrease over time. Moreover, local internet providers like Worldlink, Nepal Telecom FTTH, and Classic Tech could lose a significant number of customers, which might negatively impact Nepalese businesses.

Let’s hope that the government makes a decision that benefits both the people of Nepal and Starlink. With the right approach, this partnership could greatly enhance internet access and contribute to the country’s development.
