Are you trying to build a website for your business or personal brand? Then one of the first things you would need — is a domain name. Let’s talk about this “domain name” thingy, and how to get one in Nepal.
How to get a domain name for free in Nepal?
What is a domain name?
Before getting into the “how to” part, let’s briefly discuss the “what” and “why”. So, a domain name is a unique address to access a website that you can read. For instance, on our website i.e. www.gadgetbytenepal.com — the “gadgetbytenepal” is the domain name, while the “.com” is a domain extension.
If it were not for the domain name, we would have to remember numeric IP addresses instead. Imagine having to pull up a long chain of numbers every time you try to open Google. Yikes.
Why get a domain name?
So, domain names are vital for easier internet surfing, alright… But why? What other benefits do they even have? There are a few reasons for that too:
Branding
One of the major reasons why you would want a domain name is for branding. Every company needs a website to connect with its audience or to boost sales. For this, they generally go with the exact brand name for their domain name, which adds to the company’s identity.
Credibility
A proper and professional domain name offers credibility. For example: let’s say you want to build a tech website and decide to go by the name “rpq”. Now, when you put up a website having “rpqtech.com” sounds way more credible than just going by “rpq.com”.
I am just giving an example obviously, I recommend you name your venture something tech-related rather than just some random alphabets like “rpq”. If they happen to be your initials, then that’s a different story.
Likewise, the domain extension adds even more credibility to your website.
How to get a domain name for free?
You can get a domain name with our country code (“.np” for Nepal) for absolutely free! All you have to do is follow these steps:
Click “Search” to check the availability of the domain name If the domain name is not available, try some variations
Click on the “Register Now” You will be redirected to the User Sign In/Create User page
Fill in the necessary details and proceed accordingly
Fill up the form and attach the requested documents
Wait for the approval
Things to consider
While getting a domain name in Nepal isn’t all that complex, you need to consider a few things during the process. They are:
A company or an organisation can only get a domain name based on its name, product’s name, service’s name or brand name
In the case of individuals, one can only register a domain name based on their legal names
You can submit the required documents in .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .gif, and .svg file formats
The submitted document cannot exceed 200KB in size
Documents Required
For Local Entities
Certificate of company/firm/partnership/organisation registration
For Foreign Entities
Certificate of branch office or liaison office registration
Certificate of affiliation with Social Welfare Council
(Either one can be submitted)
For Non-incorporated Entities involved in business in Nepal
PAN Registration Certificate
(Applicable to likes of Permanent Establishments or Non-incorporated Joint Venture Entities)
For Any Entities (Local or Foreign) with business interest in Nepal
Certificate of Trademark Registration in Nepal
Official filing receipt of trademark application issued by the Department of Industry. In this case, the actual Trademark Registration Certificate needs to be submitted within three years of domain registration
For Individuals
Nepali Citizenship
Nepali Passport
Nepali Driving licence
Nepali Voter’s Card
Non-Resident Nepali (NRN) ID Card
Nepali Resident Visa (For foreign nationals)
(Either one of the documents mentioned above can be submitted)
How to get a domain name for free in Nepal: Conclusion
By following the above steps, submitting the supported documents, and keeping the aforementioned points in consideration, you can easily get a domain name in Nepal. That too for absolutely free!

Samsung just launched its next-generation midrange processor. This one succeeds the Exynos 1480 bringing some incremental upgrades with a redesigned architecture. Let’s discuss the Samsung Exynos 1580 further in this article and its eventual availability.
Samsung Exynos 1580 Overview
Internals
This new Samsung processor is built on the company’s in-house third-generation 4nm EUV FinFET process. Its predecessor was also built on a 4nm process, however, the company has not specified the lithography generation. While that may be true, the Exynos 1580 likely has a better fabrication than the last-gen chipset.
Samsung also updated the CPU architecture to a tri-cluster design. Previously, the Exynos 1480 had four performance and efficiency cores each. In contrast, the Exynos 1580 comes with a Cortex-A720 acting as a prime core clocking at 2.9GHz. In addition, it has three more Cortex-A720 cores capped at 2.6GHz and four Cortex-A520 cores with 1.95GHz clock speed. The featured cores are the newer ARMv9 ones, offering better efficiency.
Graphics and NPU
The graphics department also sees an upgrade to AMD’s RDNA 3 architecture facilitating a 37% increase in peak performance than the Exynos 1480. In the meantime, the Exynos 1580 offers 20% better performance when consuming the same amount of power. The GPU also has an increased GL2 cache.
The NPU however, appears to be the same 6K MAC units. Regardless, the on-device AI might still be better as this chip has a larger 2MB cache. Furthermore, Samsung mentions that this processor supports 14.7 TOPS of AI performance.
Moving on, the latest chipset from Samsung supports LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. Likewise, it supports an FHD+ display with a 144Hz refresh rate. For cameras, you can have a single camera of up to 200MP resolution. The Exynos 1580 works with a dual-camera setup as well, albeit both lenses are capped at 32MP. Video-wise, this chipset can process 4K videos at 60FPS.
Talking of connectivity, this silicon is unsurprisingly 5G-ready and supports both NR and mmWave bands. Additionally, it also supports Bluetooth v5.4 and WiFi 6E.
Samsung Exynos 1580 Launch and Availability
Samsung unveiled the Exynos 1580 on 24 October 2024. However, it will be some time before this chipset becomes available commercially. The Samsung Galaxy A56 will be the first phone to sport the Exynos 1580, which might launch around March next year. Moreover, the smartphone has already appeared on benchmarking sites with this processor — further solidifying the case.
Oppo launched its top-of-the-line Find X8 series in China yesterday with a base X8 and a pricier X8 Pro. Since we have already covered the Oppo Find X8 in detail, let’s dive a bit into its Pro sibling, alongside its features, specifications, expected availability, and price in Nepal.
Oppo Find X8 Pro Overview
Design and Display
Oppo’s Find X8 series features flat frames and a sleek premium look. The display on the Pro version is slightly curved on the four corners while the base X8 has a fully flat front. The camera ring is more compact and less protrusive than before and the X8 Pro is available in China in typical Black and White color options with a characteristic Blue variant available as well.
The screen is a QHD+ AMOLED screen with a variable refresh rate of 1-120Hz (LTPO). It supports over 1 billion colors and can reach an all-screen brightness of a whopping 1600nits. There’s also HDR 10+ and Dolby Vision support where certain zones can reach up to a blinding 4500 nits.
Performance and Memory
At the helm, there’s MediaTek’s new hero: the Dimensity 9400 baked on TSMC’s N3E 3nm node. The chip looks super fast with its prime Cortex X925 core @ 3.63GHz complemented by a couple of Cortex X4 performance cores and Cortex A720s for efficiency. Alongside that, the upgraded Immortalis GPU promises a substantial boost in graphical workloads of up to 30%. For cooling, there’s a graphite sheet, a large vapor chamber, and some thermal gel for dissipation.
As for memory, the RAM is LPDD5X with up to 16GB capacity, and the storage can be configured with up to a terabyte. Everything’s running on OPPO’s Color 15 skin built on top of Android 15.
Cameras and Battery
For the Find X8 Pro, Oppo has offered a quad camera rear setup consisting of a primary lens, two telephotos: one with up to 3x optical zoom and the other with up to 6x, and an ultrawide. The primary is Sony’s LYT 808 sensor with a f/1.6 aperture and a focal length of 23mm while the ultrawide and 3x telephoto carry over from the base X8. The extra 6x telephoto is an IMX periscope lens with an aperture of f/4.3 and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). Housed in the hole punch upfront is a 32MP selfie camera.
Fueling the Pro is an impressive 5910mAh Silicon Carbide cell that supports up to 80W wired and 50W wireless charging. The Find X8 Pro has WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and NFC support as well alongside 5G connectivity.
This Oppo smartphone is now available in China with a starting price of CNY 5,299 for the base 12/256GB variant. Although unlikely, if the device makes it here, we expect the Oppo Find X8 Pro price in Nepal to be around NPR 140,000.

Meanwhile, check out our video on the Oppo Find X7 Ultra vs Samsung’s S24 Ultra:
Oppo recently unveiled the curtains on its flagship Find X series with the introduction of the Find X8 and Find X8 Pro. While the ‘Ultra’ of the bunch will be revealed further down the road, the base and the pro models are now readily available in China. In this piece, we’ll take a quick look at the gateway to this X series, the Oppo Find X8, its features, and specifications, and finally an expected price in Nepal alongside some availability scoops.
Oppo Find X8 Overview
Design and Display
Oppo’s flagship X series has always sported an elegant and premium design but the Chinese smartphone maker has gone one step beyond this time to make the X8 sleeker than its predecessors. The camera bump on the back has been noticeably reduced due to the use of multi-prism technology, and the phone in general is slimmer by a millimeter, and more compact in all dimensions.
That’s to say, the display is now a slightly smaller 6.59-inch flat LTPO AMOLED panel that refreshes between 1-120Hz. It’s got all the bells and whistles you’d expect out of a flagship like vibrant colors, high brightness, durable protection, and lots of others. It’s got Dolby Vision support and a very crisp resolution yielding a pixel density of roughly 450 ppi.
Performance and Memory
Under the hood, the Oppo Find X8 is powered by the new Dimensity 9400 chipset from MediaTek. It’s a 3nm chip led by a superpowerful Cortex X925 Arm core running at up to 3.63 GHz. Others that follow are 3x Cortex X4 cores and 4x Cortex A720 cores that clock in at up to 3.3GHz and 2.4 GHz respectively. Since the new SoC has an upgraded Immortalis GPU as well, expect the Oppo Find X8 to dust its predecessor in gaming workloads. To ensure that, and keep things under wraps, the X8 and its sibling feature a redesigned thermal solution with graphite sheets, vapor chambers, and thermal gel.
From the memory side of things, the base variant of the Find X8 ships with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. But, there are many different configurations including 16/256GB, 12/512GB, 16/512GB, and finally the top-end 16GB/1TB model. As for the software, the phone boots on ColorOS 15 based on Android 15 with a new look, and many different optimizations, especially in terms of animation fluidity.
Cameras
The cameras are most in focus when talking about new Find X smartphones and this time it’s no different. While the Pro version gets an additional telephoto lens, the base X8 features a 50MP primary Sony LYT 700 sensor, a 50MP ultrawide, and a 50MP IMX 882 telephoto. The primary and telephoto feature both Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) while the latter is missing on the ISOCELL ultrawide.
All of that is now housed in a sleeker camera island that protrudes less than the previous generation. It is especially commendable considering the primary is the same sized 1/1.56 “ sensor and there’s a similar telephoto with a 73mm focal length. The trick here lies in the use of multiple prisms to save vertical space instead of a periscope layout. Anyways, that hardware is now paired with Oppo’s HyperTone image engine which merges nine frames into one for better clarity and range. Of course, there’s the Hasselblad optimization in terms of colors and portraits that has been the staple for Find X for the last few years. On the front, you get a 32MP selfie camera just like last year.
Battery and Extras
Despite the compact form factor, the Find X8 houses a big 5630mAh battery thanks to the use of Silicon Carbide technology that packs in more energy for the same volume. It’s super quick to charge right back too at 80W wired and 50W wireless top-up support. On the connectivity side, there’s the latest WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 with support for LHDC 5, 5-way GNSS, and NFC. The USB port is limited to Gen 2 speeds though, unlike the X8 Pro.
The Oppo smartphone will start shipping in China in a few days for an ask of CNY 4,200. Although very unlikely, if it makes it here, we expect the Oppo Find X8 price in Nepal to be around NPR 99,999.
