Honor just dropped the X7d, yeah god knows how many more X7x phones are yet to come, but hey this looks like it will last for a decent time. Anyway, you’re getting a massive 6,500 mAh battery paired with a 120Hz display among other stuff. You’re getting a 6.77-inch LCD panel with 120Hz refresh rate, which is a clear upgrade from previous models. The resolution is still 720p+ though, which is really poor to tell you honestly, but this will work you fine for basic usage. The phone comes in four colors: Desert Gold, Ocean Cyan, Meteor Silver, and Velvet Black.

But anyway you do get a SGS 5-star drop-survival certification. That means this thing should handle accidental drops pretty well. It also packs IP65 certification, so it’s protected from dust and strong water jets – not full immersion, but better than most budget phones.

All things considered, Honor seems to be positioning this as a phone for people who are rough with their devices.

Performance and Memory

At its core is the Snapdragon 685, which is honestly a nearly three-year-old processore. Obviously, it’s not that great of a chip, as i know this for a fact, because i was once using Redmi Note 12 couple of years back, but its decent enough for average usage. But overtime, this thing will start getting lag like crazy.

But here’s where it gets interesting – you can get this thing with up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB storage. That’s unusually high RAM for this price category, which should help with multitasking even if the processor isn’t the newest.

Camera and Battery

The camera setup includes a 108MP main sensor with f/1.75 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor that’s basically just there for portrait blur. The front camera is an 8MP unit with f/2.0 aperture.

Yeah, I think it makes sense to focus on that 6,500 mAh battery though. Combined with the 720p screen and mid-tier chip, battery life should easily last two days for most users. It supports 35W SuperCharge, which isn’t class-leading but should get you topped up reasonably fast.

Software

It runs MagicOS 9.0 based on Android 15, so at least you’re getting the latest Android features.

The Dell Pro 14 business laptop powered by Intel’s Core Series 1 processor has finally arrived in Nepal. It is basically a “Latitude” laptop but with Dell’s new confusing naming scheme. So in this article, we will discuss all the features and specifications, including the official price of the Dell Pro 14 in Nepal.

Design and display

Looking at the Dell Pro 14, it seems like your typical entry-level business laptop. It’s got a metallic finish in the “Platinum Silver” finish and a textured finish in the “Magnetite” color option. Dell also says this laptop has been MIL-STD tested for durability, while the Pro 14 is pretty lightweight at just 1.35 kg.

NRB orders the shutdown of Nepal’s only 100% digital banking platform, OrangeNXT

Nepal’s first fully digital banking service, OrangeNXT, is being shut down. Yeah, the one and only. You might think, “wait, wasn’t this supposed to be the future of banking?” Well, apparently not. Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has just ordered Laxmi Sunrise Bank to close the service, which means OrangeNXT’s customers now have to move back to traditional banking services.

OrangeNXT has been around for over one and a half years, launched in January 2024 by Laxmi Sunrise in partnership with FoneNXT. This neobanking platform was a fully digital experience, with no paperwork or visiting a physical location. Just a smartphone and a stable internet connection were all you needed.

OrangeNXT to be shut down

No wonder the young people loved it, and so did Nepalis living abroad. In fact, over 65,000 users signed up to OrangeNXT, holding deposits worth NPR 170 million. And it had some pretty clever features too. Gamified savings, personalized accounts, video KYC, etc. All that jazz. But now, all that gets undone because NRB says the proper legal framework for all-digital banking platforms isn’t ready yet. Which is quite strange because NRB’s own monetary policy for 2025/26 is clearly pro-neobanks. And did I mention that OrangeNXT had already been up and running since January 2024?

How does this affect the customers?

With NRB’s cruel directive, all those 65,000 OrangeNXT customers will now need to migrate to traditional banks for their services. Imagine trying to explain that to your parents or relatives who are not tech-savvy. And speaking to The Kathmandu Post, Laxmi Sunrise Bank’s information officer, Mr. Piyush Raj Aryal, said:

“We are the first bank to launch a fully app-based digital banking product, so the central bank is examining its potential risks, compliance issues, and other legal dimensions. Once the NRB completes its assessment, it may provide a way forward. For now, the product has been put on hold”.

A global perspective

The concept of neobanking may be news to our parts of the world, but it’s absolutely huge in countries like India, Brazil, the UK, China, Germany, and the US. Some rely on partnerships, some have independent licenses.

Brazil’s NuBank, for example, became Latin America’s largest fintech bank with over 122 million customers across Brazil, Mexico, and Colombia. The Philippines has multiple neo-banks. Even India has fully digital banks like OrangeNXT. And yet in Nepal, the first attempt is being shut down before it has had the chance to fully spread its wings.

The bigger picture

But of course, this isn’t the Nepal Government’s first rodeo. We have seen a similar fate handed out to ride-sharing apps like Pathao in the past as well. Yatri Motorcycles struggled with regulations, too. Whenever something new comes along, instead of making rules and frameworks, the government’s first instinct seems to be shutting them down.

My final words

Yeah, I think it makes sense to question this official approach. NRB’s action leaves Nepal behind in fintech adoption, frustrates users, and halts progress. And yet, the discussion about neobanks is still alive on paper. Will neobanking ever truly arrive in Nepal this year? We don’t know. But if OrangeNXT is any indication, the road ahead is going to be… bumpy.

OPPO’s new foldable, the OPPO Find N5, made its global debut in February of this year. And now, the company has brought this phone to Nepal as well. This article will include the device specifications and features, along with the official price in Nepal of the OPPO Find N5.

The Find N5 measures 8.93 mm thick when folded and weighs around 229 grams. That sounds impressive for a foldable, although it’s slightly thicker and heavier than Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7, which is just 8.9 mm thick while weighing just 215 grams.

Camera and Battery

The Redmi Note 15 5G now has a similar camera design to its “Pro” siblings. And it now includes a 50MP f/1.8 Light Hunter 400 main shooter on the Redmi Note 15. Which is actually a downgrade compared to the 108MP f/1.7 ISOCELL HM6 main sensor on the global variant of Note 14 5G.

Itel just dropped the Zeno 20, a budget phone that’s trying to pack some decent specs for less than hundre bucks. As you might already noticed, this isn’t really any specticular phone worth thinking about, but yet, you’re still getting a 90Hz display and Android 14 Go Edition, which is not bad for this price range. You’re getting a 6.6-inch IPS LCD display with HD+ resolution and up to 90Hz refresh rate. For a budget phone, that 90Hz is actually nice to see – most phones in this range are still stuck at 60Hz.
