If you’ve spent any time browsing Nepal’s wearable market lately, you’ve probably noticed the flood of budget smartwatches. They’re everywhere. On the other end of the spectrum, there are plenty of high-end flagship models that cost a small fortune. But the middle? That midrange smartwatch segment has all but disappeared.

There used to be solid options like Amazfit’s GTS and GTR series in this price range. But Amazfit hasn’t been active in Nepal recently — and that gap hasn’t been filled. Not until now.

Huawei Fit 4 Review 

The Huawei Watch Fit 4 just launched in Nepal for around Rs. 20,000. And honestly, at this price, I don’t think there’s a better smartwatch available in the country. Alongside this, Huawei also launched the Watch Fit 4 Pro, which costs nearly twice as much. Yes, the Pro version gets you better build quality, more advanced health tracking, and upgrades in almost every category. Huawei has even borrowed several features directly from the Apple Watch Ultra 2 for the Fit 4 Pro.

Still, I think the regular Watch Fit 4 is the better deal. Especially if you’re a fitness enthusiast — you’ll want to check this one out.

This review is going to cover everything you need to know about the Watch Fit 4 — design, display, health tracking, software, battery — all of it. So stick with me until the end.

Design

Let’s start with the design. I probably don’t even need to tell you this, but the Watch Fit 4 looks a lot like an Apple Watch. The square-ish case, the rotating crown up top, and the side button below — it’s all very Apple. But I don’t mind that at all.

It’s super lightweight and comfortable on the wrist. I’ve got the basic color option here, but you can also pick it up in white or purple. That rotating crown? It doesn’t just look good — it actually works. Scrolling through the UI gives you a surprisingly satisfying haptic feedback.

It’s rated at 5ATM water resistance, so you don’t need to worry about getting it wet. Though, I was a little surprised to see Huawei didn’t include any kind of dust resistance.

Durability

And speaking of durability, another thing to keep in mind: the display doesn’t have any kind of protection. None. So I’d recommend using it carefully — or better yet, just get yourself a solid screen protector.

Display

Display quality on the Watch Fit 4 is absolutely excellent. It features a 1.82-inch AMOLED panel with a smooth 60Hz refresh rate and responsive touch input. Brightness? Don’t even worry about it — it hits up to 2000 nits, so even under the harshest sunlight, visibility won’t be a problem.

Maybe it’s because I’ve been using the Apple Watch Series 10, but I did feel like the bezels could’ve been a bit slimmer. That said, for me, this is still a 10/10 display.

OS and Software Experience

I’ve always enjoyed the software experience on Huawei watches. Sure, you don’t get Wear OS here — I’ll say that upfront. That means no Google Play Store, and no installing apps like Google Maps, WhatsApp, or Spotify. But even without those, Huawei’s own HarmonyOS 5 feels surprisingly well-designed and fun to use.

Once you start using it, I’m sure you’ll feel the same way. And without Wear OS in the picture, battery life gets a serious boost — more on that in a bit.

One thing I especially loved in HarmonyOS 5 is how Huawei uses color and animation across the UI. It looks and feels genuinely refreshing. The variety of watch faces available is also excellent. So while the third-party app support may be limited, HarmonyOS 5 still manages to stand out.

Fitness tracking

Now let’s talk health and fitness — because this is where the Huawei Watch Fit 4 absolutely excels. It supports over 100 workout modes, all of which can be customized to your personal goals. Thanks to dual-band GPS, the location tracking is phenomenal. Even in Kathmandu’s dense streets, the GPS locked on instantly. And as you can see from these screenshots, the actual location tracking is very accurate. If you do outdoor workouts like hiking, running, or cycling, this is going to be a huge plus.

Health tracking 

Another thing I’ve always liked about Huawei’s watches is the accuracy of their health tracking — heart rate, stress, sleep, SpO2 — it all works reliably. But what matters even more is how the watch turns that raw data into actual insight.

It tells me how much I’ve worked out, how many calories I’ve burned, and how high my heart rate reached — sure, that’s all useful. But when I check the Huawei Health app, it gives me much more: I can see the actual effects of my workouts, and how long I need to rest before committing to my next session.

And this goes beyond fitness. The overall health monitoring on the Watch Fit 4 is integrated incredibly well.

Right from the start, it tracks not just physical health, but emotional health as well — offering helpful tips when needed. Lately I’ve been more calorie-conscious, and I’ve been planning my diet and workouts accordingly. The “Stay Fit” feature has been a real help for keeping up with my calorie goals.

Sometimes I don’t sleep well, and when that happens, it offers tips on how to improve sleep quality. Features like “Activity Rings” and “Health Clovers” also do a great job of keeping me motivated to stay active every day.

I could keep going, but here’s the short version: the health and fitness tracking on the Watch Fit 4 is not just accurate — it’s insightful. And I absolutely love it.

Battery 

Battery life? Also impressive. Even with all the health monitoring features fully enabled, the watch easily lasted me a full week. And charging takes just over an hour — around an hour and 15 minutes. That’s solid.

To sum it up: I really liked the Huawei Watch Fit 4. There’s hardly anything to complain about here. The design, the display, the battery, the app, the health tracking — everything about it is excellent.

If you’re health-conscious and thinking of picking up a great smartwatch under Rs. 20,000, I can easily recommend this one. As for the Watch Fit 4 Pro, which costs nearly double — I don’t think I can recommend that to everyone. But if you’re someone who wants more premium build materials, or features like ECG, diving, or golfing, then yes — it totally makes sense.
