Last month, Oppo teased a new A-series smartphone with a MediaTek Helio G35 chip. The new A57 4G is now available in Nepal. So, let’s get into the specs, features, availability, and the latest official price of the Oppo A57 4G in Nepal.

Oppo A57 4G Overview:

Design, Display

Oppo A57 4G sports a 6.56-inch display with a water-drop notch for the selfie camera. As with most budget smartphones, this is an IPS LCD panel with a 60Hz refresh rate. But you also have to make do with its HD+ resolution.

Likewise, the phone is listed to have a typical brightness of 480 nits and a peak brightness of 600 nits. The screen is covered with Panda MN228 glass to help the phone resist minor scratches.

Sennheiser launches a new wired and closed-back headphones

Sennheiser does not need an introduction to the audiophiles. The company is quite popular for its flagship MOMENTUM series of earbuds that received its fourth iteration at the CES 2024. Now, they launched a successor to the HD 600 headphones which is the highlight of this article. Here, we will discuss the Sennheiser HD 620S in further detail including its price in Nepal.

Design

The Sennheiser HD 620S looks like any other headphones on the market. They come in an over-ear fit with a closed-back design. Moreover, they feature a lightweight chassis with steel-reinforced headband sliders and artificial leather earpads with internal venting. The company says that this combination makes these headphones durable while providing all-day comfort.

ZTE launches two new phones under the Axon 60 series

ZTE launched the Axon 60 Ultra last month and presented it as an iPhone replacement in its home country. Now, the company has unveiled two new offerings and becoming an iPhone-like quite literally! In this article, we look into the new ZTE Axon 60 and Axon 60 Lite including their expected price in Nepal.

ZTE Axon 60 and Axon 60 Lite Overview

Design and Display

As I mentioned earlier, the ZTE Axon 60 and Axon 60 Lite are quite literally iPhone-like. They come with the squircle camera island with three camera cutouts. Meanwhile, the rest of the back panel comes in a glossy monotone finish. The titular phones come in Gold, Purple, and Black colours, while the Lite variant replaces the Black with a Blue option.

While the outlay of the two models appears to be the same, they vary from one another in displays. The ZTE Axon 60 Lite comes with a 6.6-inch HD+ display while the Axon 60 sports a larger 6.72-inch FHD+ screen. Both the phones likely have an LCD panel, the type of which has not been specified. In the meantime, they offer a 90Hz refresh rate and a Dynamic Island knock-off feature dubbed the “ZTE Live Island”.

Performance

The performance on both the ZTE Axon 60 and Axon 60 Lite is driven by UNISOC silicon. The former packs the T616 processor while the latter comes with the T606 chipset. Both these processors come with the same architecture and 12nm lithography. However, the former can reach a higher clock speed of 2.0 GHz while the latter settles in for 1.6 GHz frequency.

Other than that, the ZTE Axon 60 comes with 6GB memory while the Axon 60 Lite has 4GB RAM. In contrast, both the phones have 256GB internal memory and boot on Android 13 out of the box.

The ZTE Axon 60 comes with a triple camera setup on the back. This includes a 50MP primary unit, a 2MP macro, and a depth sensor of unspecified resolution. After recently dropping the price of the regular F19, Oppo has finally dropped the price of its flagship Oppo F19 Pro in Nepal. Let’s take a look at the new Oppo F19 Pro including its pre-order offers, official price, and availability in Nepal.

Oppo F19 Pro Overview:

Design and Display

Oppo F19 Pro features a 6.43-inch Super AMOLED panel with an FHD+ resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels. There is no support for a higher refresh rate as these phones use a 60Hz panel. Still, you get a 135Hz touch sampling rate which can be increased to 180Hz in the Game Mode. The display is capable of producing over 16 million colors. It covers 100% of SRGB and 92% of the DCI P3 color gamut. Under normal conditions, the brightness can get up to 430 nits with the peak brightness listed at 800 nits.

Talking about the design, the F19 Pro is available in two color gradients – Crystal Silver and Fluid Black. As expected from the F-series phones, it is sleek and comfortable to hold. In fact, F19 Pro is just 7.8mm thick and weigh around 172/173 grams.

Performance and Memory

Oppo is still holding back in the performance department for the Pro model which comes with the same processor that powered its predecessor, the Helio P95. Other than that, it features Oppo’s new System Performance optimizer that reduces lag and improves swipe responsiveness.

Moreover, it comes with a dedicated Game Mode with support for Bullet Notification extended to WhatsApp and Telegram. In terms of memory, the F19 Pro is available in a single memory configuration of 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 internal storage.

Camera

In addition to the design, cameras are another highlight of Oppo’s F-series smartphones. The 48MP primary camera here has an f/1.7 aperture and uses a 6P lens. It is capable of recording 4K 30fps videos. With EIS enabled, users can record up to 1080P 30fps videos. It is accompanied by an 8MP ultrawide camera with an f/2.2 aperture. Completing the setup is a 2MP macro camera and a 2MP mono camera.

The rear camera now supports AI Color Portrait Videos. Similarly, users can now record videos using front and rear cameras simultaneously thanks to the dual-view video mode. Other features include Dynamic Bokeh and the new Night Plus mode. On the front, there is a 16MP selfie camera.

Rest of the specs

Fueling the devices is a 4310mAh battery that is slightly bigger than that of the F17 Pro. As for charging, t has the same 30W VOOC charging as its predecessor.

The fingerprint scanner is placed underneath the screen. The phones ship with ColorOS 11.1 based on Android 11 out-of-the-box. Talking about the box, Oppo ships the phones with both earphones and chargers which are quite rare at this price.

Nokia surely has not forgotten when it used to be the golden standard of phones before the smartphone revolution outpaced it. Given that, the company updated one of its iconic feature phones in collaboration with HMD after 25 whole years. In this article, we will discuss the Nokia 3210 (2024) in further detail including its price in Nepal.

Nokia 3210 (2024) Overview

Design and Display

The Nokia 3210 (2024) gets a design overhaul from the 1999 variant and comes with an updated look. It has that standardised keypad layout with soft buttons. Moreover, it comes in a dual-tone finish on the front, while the back panel is all the same colour. Talking of colour, this phone ships in three options — Y2K Gold, Grunge Black, and Scuba Blue.

On the front, the phone gets an update as well. While the 25-year-old variant had a grey screen, the 2024 update of the Nokia 3210 comes with a colour screen. Even though the company has not clarified the type of panel on this phone, it is probably a TFT LCD. Other than that, the display stretches 2.4 inches diagonally and spans QVGA in resolution.

Performance

The company is going all in on the “good old days of before social media” for their marketing. Therefore, it would be quite an oxymoron thing to do if they made it a performance-centric phone. This is why the Nokia 3210 (2024) comes with very humble hardware under its hood.

It packs the UNISOC T107 processor which is crafted for feature phones. This silicon comes in a 22nm fabrication, has a single core, and clocks in at a maximum frequency of 1GHz. In addition to that, you get a 64MB memory and 128MB storage combo on the Nokia 3210 (2024). Yes… it’s “MB” as in Megabyte and yes, it’s quite low. This is why, the company offers a MicroSD card support of up to 32GB on this phone. Additionally, it boots on the S30+ operating system.

Features and the rest

This phone is a homage to the days of the past and comes with MP3 Player, FM Radio, and the classic game — Snake baked inside it. Similarly, it skips WiFi connectivity but includes a 3.5mm headphone jack instead. On the other hand, the Nokia 3210 (2024) has received some updates to meet modern-day standards. Such as a USB Type-C charging interface, Bluetooth v5.0 support, and a modest 2MP camera coupled with an LED flash on the back.

The Nokia 3210 (2024) might not have WiFi connectivity, but, it is not totally off the grid though. It can tap into the internet, that too at 4G LTE speeds. Realme unveiled the successor to the GT Neo 5 in China today with a powerful chip, capable cameras, and a super-fast charger. In this article, let’s take a look at the Realme GT Neo 6, its full specifications, expected price in Nepal, and availability.

Realme GT Neo 6 Overview:

Performance

The new GT Neo is powered by the recently launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 that we saw on the Poco F6 and a few other performance-centric devices. Being based on the same foundation as the flagship SD 8 Gen 3, it’s quite a beast and positions the GT Neo 6 as a midrange powerhouse.

Realme also provides users the flexibility to adjust CPU and GPU frequencies using their
‘Geek Performance Panel 2.0″ software. To keep things cool during gaming, the phone features a large 10,0014 squared millimeter vapor chamber.

Memory-wise, you can get up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 1 terabyte of UFS 4.0 storage.

Display and Design

The Realme GT Neo 6 uses the same 8T BOE panel that we saw on the SE version before. It’s a 1.5K AMOLED screen with wide colors, 0.5-120Hz LTPO support, and an outstanding 6000 nits of peak brightness. Moreover, the display also has a bunch of other bells and whistles like 2160Hz PWM dimming, 2500Hz touch sampling, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection that make it stand out from the competition.

Design-wise it’s similar to the GT Neo 6 SE with triple circular cutouts on the back and a striped backdrop. The phone features an IP65 dust and splash rating and is available in Purple, Green, and Silver color options.

Cameras and Battery

Moving on to the cameras, we see two sensors on the back and a 32MP IMX 615 sensor on the front. The primary is a 50MP IMX 882 with OIS complemented by an 8MP IMX 355 ultrawide.

The battery is a larger 5500mAh cell this time around and it supports up to 120W fast charging. Although that’s a downgrade from the GT Neo 5’s godly 240W, it still allows the Realme GT Neo 6 to fill up to 50% in just under 10 minutes.

Ncell starts Carrier Aggregation in Nepal and it’s a Tri-Band one

Ncell, the private telecom operator has finally begun the Carrier Aggregation feature for its users. And that too with a bonus, I mean, a new 4G band on top of the existing two. In case you are scratching your head, fear not, I’ll explain all about Ncell Carrier Aggregation in this piece of news.

Ncell Carrier Aggregation Overview

What is Carrier Aggregation?

Carrier Aggregation is basically your smartphone using two or more than two bands simultaneously which boosts your bandwidth speed. This feature was first implemented on the 3G network which gave it the name of HSPA+. At the present time, 5G is already present in several countries while Nepal is relying on 4G network connectivity. So, herein it refers to 4G Carrier Aggregation.

In case you didn’t know, the state-owned telco NTC was the first operator to introduce VoLTE and 4G Carrier Aggregation in Nepal. It uses two 4G frequency bands in Nepal: Band 3 (1800MHz) and Band 20 (900Hz). So, NTC users having a 4G+ signal while turning mobile data on means that the phone is using Band 3 + Band 20 at the same time.

And a new 4G band enters for Ncell Network

Just a while ago, Ncell used to operate 4G with two bands: Band 3 (1800MHz) and Band 8 (900MHz). And now, the private telco is now operating 4G through Band 1 (2100MHz) as well which was previously used for the 3G network. To shed some light on this, it has finally gotten the approval, it was long seeking the from Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA).

Plus, telcos are provided bandwidth for each frequency band by NTA. As per Nepalitelecom, Ncell has a total of 15MHz bandwidth for Band 1 (2100MHz). Now, it gets segregated as a 10MHz bandwidth for 3G and 5MHz bandwidth for 4G. On the other hand, Ncell is using 20MHz bandwidth for 4G on Band 3 (1800MHz) and 5MHz on Band 8 (900MHz) for 4G. So collectively, it has now 30MHz bandwidth.

Although a bit late, Ncell has finally activated Carrier Aggregation in its 4G network. And with the introduction of the third 4G band at 2100MHz frequency, Ncell becomes the first operator to provide triple band (tri-band) carrier aggregation in Nepal. Users are getting boosted 4G speed with the combined use of 2100MHz + 1800MHz + 900MHz on Ncell. Plus, it has also implemented dual-band Carrier Aggregation (Band 3 + Band 8) as per the need and area.

Advantages of Carrier Aggregation on Ncell

As I have already mentioned, Carrier Aggregation increases your bandwidth speed with 4G+. So, it’s the same case on Ncell as well. But having a tri-band aggregation comes with more perks than a dual-band one. With this, you can get up to 225Mbps speed as Band 3 provides 150Mbps, and Band 1 / Band 3 can provide a speed of 35Mbps, theoretically.

Plus having a more spectrum bandwidth increases the throughput capacity that can allow more users in the same network without sacrificing the overall network quality and bandwidth speed.

How to check Carrier Aggregation on your smartphone

First, you need to download the NetMonster App on your smartphone.
I would recommend you to do this test from an open space or from a terrace where network interference is lesser.
Then, open the app and grant all the necessary permissions.
Also, first turn on the airplane mode and turn it off, to check Carrier Aggregation on the NetMonster app.
After that, it will show its homepage with carrier and band information.
If you are using an NTC SIM, it will show 1800MHz + 800MHz. While on Ncell, it will either show you 1800MHz + 900MHz or 2100MHz + 1800MHz+ 900MHz.

Factors for Carrier Aggregation to Work

Both your carrier and smartphone should support Carrier Aggregation.
It also depends on the area you are living in and the cell towers in your location. For example, city areas have multiple towers with more than one band frequency emission enabled, dual-band or tri-band in the case of Ncell.
Rural areas mostly include cell towers with just one band frequency enabled. So, Carrier Aggregation does not work there for most of the instances.
Carrier Aggregation requires multiple frequency bands, so, it is subject to work properly in open spaces or on top floors of a building with better network reception.
Ncell’s 4G bands, Band 1, Band 3, and Band 8 are available in almost every smartphone in Nepal. However, not every device supports Carrier Aggregation.
Meanwhile, NTC’s Band 20 is not available in “Made for India” phones. So always check Band 20 support before buying a new smartphone in order to use NTC’s 4G Carrier Aggregation in city areas and 4G network in rural areas.
Ncell Carrier Aggregation with Triple Bands is only available in certain areas while its dual-band aggregation is common in various areas.

Moreover, Samsung needs to act fast because Microsoft might announce Snapdragon X-based devices on May 20. This could be tough competition for Samsung. As both companies are in the race to create the ultimate MacBook Air killer.
