Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga L13 Gen 4 with Core i7 launched in Nepal

Lenovo announced their iteration of the ThinkPad L13 lineup at MWC, 2023 which consisted of the ThinkPad L13 Gen 4, and ThinkPad Yoga L13 Gen 4 laptops. Just about a year later, the Yoga variant with a 2-in-1 body is now available in Nepal. In this article, let’s take a look at the Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga L13, its specifications, features, official price in Nepal, and availability.

Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga L13 Gen 4 Overview:

Design and Display:

Not a lot has changed when it comes to the design of the Yoga L13. You get a similar 2-in-1 format but now in a slightly lighter and thinner form factor. The Yoga L13 Gen 4 is 100 grams lighter than its predecessor (1.31kg) and measures just 17.06 mm thick. It features the same semi-premium aluminum top + plastic bottom build and is available in typical ‘Storm Grey’ and ‘Thunder Black’ color options.

Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga L13 Gen 4 Design

On the display side, you get two pretty similar configurations to choose from. The ThinkPad Yoga L13 Gen 4 features a 13.3” IPS LCD screen that supports multi-touch and an anti-reflection coating. The laptop features a taller 16:10 screen with WUXGA (1920×1200) resolution. But while the higher-end display can go up to 400 nits, and brings TUV low light certification, the base variant available in Nepal can only hit 300 nits and doesn’t boast extra bells and whistles.

Performance and Memory :

Under the hood, ThinkPad L13 Gen 4 offers a number of choices for a CPU. Starting with the modest 6-core i3-1315U, and going up to a 10-core i7-1365U processor, L13 Gen 4 can be configured with i3, i5, and i7 U series Raptor Lake chips. While the i3 variant features Intel UHD graphics, other models bring the more capable Iris XE.

13th gen Intel Core CPU

As for the memory, you can get up to 32GB of LPDDR5-4800MHz RAM alongside 1 TB of M.2 SSD with Opal 2.0 protection. Unfortunately, the RAM is soldered, and there is only a single M.2 2242 slot.

The Core i7-1335U model with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage is currently available in Nepal.

Battery Life and Extras

Moving onto the battery life, the Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga L13 Gen 4 houses a modest 46 Wh Lithium Polymer cell with support for Rapid Charge. That means you can get up to 80% juice in just under an hour with the provided 65W AC adapter. You can also charge the machine via the two USB-C ports on either side.

Talking of ports, you also get two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, an HDMI, and a 3.5mm audio jack. As for wireless connectivity, you have your WiFi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.1. Similarly, there’s an FHD webcam, a backlit ThinkPad keyboard (with TrackPoint), and 3-button trackpad.

Excessive use of Apple Vision Pro may lead to physical and mental risks, scientists warn

0

As technology continues to evolve, the Apple Vision Pro emerged as an innovation feat, offering users a personalized, screen-filled world. However, recent warnings from scientists shed light on potential health risks associated with its extensive use. While touted as a groundbreaking advancement in augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) technology, the Vision Pro’s immersive experience may come at a cost to users’ physical and mental well-being. In this article, we shall discuss more on the Apple Vision Pro, including what scientists say and potential health risks.

Apple Vision Pro Health Risks Overview

Potential Isolation

The Apple Vision Pro, designed to immerse users in a virtual environment, could inadvertently isolate them from reality. By creating a personalized digital realm, the device may detach users from their immediate surroundings, hindering face-to-face interactions and social connections. While technological advancements aim to enhance user experiences, concerns arise about the unintended consequences of prolonged engagement with virtual environments.

Apple vision Pro isolation

The prospect of widespread adoption of the Vision Pro sparks discussions about loneliness in an increasingly digital world. As users immerse themselves in virtual environments, the risk of social isolation has become more prominent than ever. The allure of digital escapism may lead individuals to prioritize virtual interactions over real-world connections, experiencing feelings of loneliness and detachment.

Challenges in Sharing Experiences

One of the primary challenges users face with Vision Pro is sharing experiences. Interacting with others or sharing content becomes cumbersome within the confines of a headset-dominated environment. The inability to seamlessly transition between virtual and real-world interactions do raise questions about the device’s practicality in facilitating meaningful social connections and shared experiences.

Apple vision Pro Health risks

Faux Marketing

While Apple markets the Vision Pro as a versatile replacement for traditional devices, such as iPhones and iPads, concerns linger regarding its potential isolating effect. The promotional video, showcasing solitary use at home, contradicts the notion of seamless interaction. Users may find themselves immersed in a solitary digital realm, disconnected from the communal experiences that define human interaction.

Impaired Genuine Connection

Facetime, a key feature of the Vision Pro, offers a photorealistic representation of users. However, this representation may hinder genuine connection, leading to a sense of disconnect among users. While technology endeavors to bridge geographical distances, the digital facade presented through Vision Pro may exacerbate feelings of loneliness and disconnection.

Health Concerns

Researchers caution against prolonged use of headsets like the Vision Pro, citing potential health implications. Reports suggest users may experience eyestrain, neck pain, and fatigue, raising concerns about its long-term effects on physical well-being. Additionally, the Vision Pro’s immersive nature may disrupt users’ spatial awareness and cognitive functioning, posing risks to overall health and productivity.

Conclusion: Apple Vision Pro Health Risks

While the Apple Vision Pro represents a remarkable leap in technology, its widespread use raises significant health and societal concerns. As scientists urge caution and further research, users are encouraged to consider the potential risks before fully embracing this immersive experience. In the quest for innovation, it’s essential not to overlook the human cost of progress.

Huawei Pocket 2 launched with “Hyperspectral” camera and vapour chamber cooling

0

Foldable phones are getting more impressive as time passes. Now Huawei has launched one such powerful clamshell phone — Pocket 2 with stacked hardware across the board. In this article, we will discuss the Huawei Pocket 2 in greater detail including its expected price in Nepal.

Huawei Pocket 2 Overview

Design and Displays

As mentioned earlier, the Huawei Pocket 2 is a clamshell foldable phone with IPX8 water resistance. This phone comes in four regular colour options: Tahitian grey, Rococo white, Taro purple, and Elegant black. The first two variants flaunt a pearl-inspired design with a glass back while the latter two come in a leather finish. Additionally, this foldable also has an Art Custom Edition named the “Blue Dream”. This version of the phone has Kunlun Glass 2 protection on the back. It also has lines drawn all across its back that appear to shift depending on the angle.

Huawei Pocket 2 IPX8

The primary screen on this phone measures 6.94 inches diagonally and boasts an FHD+ resolution spanning 2,690 x 1,136 pixels. This screen supports an adaptive refresh rate of 1–120 Hz, a touch sampling rate of 300 Hz, and a high-frequency PWM dimming of 1,440 Hz. Moreover, it is supported by a Xuanwu water drop hinge offering a gapless fold and a flat unfold.

Meanwhile, the external screen on the Huawei Pocket 2 measures 1.15 inches in diameter and sits below the camera module. This screen offers an adaptive refresh rate of 1–60 Hz and a touch sampling rate of 120 Hz. The resolution here spans 340 x 340 pixels and comes with added functionality like displaying QR codes for smart payments. Finally, both these screens are OLED panels with a colour depth of 1.07 billion and P3 wide colour gamut support.

Performance

The chipset powering the Huawei Pocket 2 is a mystery since the company has not listed it in its listing. While that may be true, sources are assuming the silicone to be the Kirin 9000S. It is Huawei’s in-house flagship chipset, however, it doesn’t hold much water against other processors in the market. There is a whole lot of fiasco that goes on with Huawei, its phones, chips, and all. Meanwhile, you can learn more about the Kirin 9000S in our dedicated article. While that’s there, it is an octa-core processor built on 7nm lithography and peaking at 2.62 GHz clock speed.

Other than that, it comes in two memory options 12GB for the regular ones and 16GB for Art Custom Edition. On the other hand, the Huawei Pocket 2 offers storage choices of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. It also allows you to add up to 512GB of external storage via the company’s proprietary NM card.

Huawei Pocket 2 VC

This phone for the first time comes with a mid-frame vapour chamber and a three-dimensional heat dissipation structure. Coupled with the 1,800 W/m·K high thermal conductivity graphene material this phone offers more stable and cooler performance. Lastly, on the software side of things, it runs of the HarmonyOS 4.0.

Camera and the rest

The Huawei Pocket 2 is a one-of-a-kind flip phone in terms of camera, as it packs four shooters on the back. The camera department is led by a 50-megapixel unit with OIS capability. Additionally, the second camera in this setup is a 12MP ultrawide lens. Thirdly, we get an 8MP telephoto camera offering 3X portrait shots along with optical image stabilisation.

Lastly, this phone also flaunts a 2-megapixel hyperspectral camera with ultraviolet intensity and sunspot detection capability. With this, you can perform fluorescent photography as well as use it to take a UV Sunscreen Test. In the meantime, the front camera is a 10.7MP ultrawide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture.

Huawei Pocket 2 Camera

In the tank, you have a 4,520 mAh silicon negative battery. This battery is probably similar to the 2nd Gen Silicon-Carbon Battery from Honor. The Huawei Pocket 2 supports 66W wired as well as 40W wireless fast and 7.5W reverse charging.

In terms of wireless connectivity, you get dual-band WiFi along with Bluetooth v5.2 with high-res audio codec support. Additionally, this phone is also capable of two-way Beidou satellite messaging where you can send messages via the Changlian app even when there is no terrestrial network. Lastly, the wired connection is handled by a sole USB 2.0 Type-C port.

Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro launched with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and 120W fast charging

    0

Xiaomi announced their Pad 6S Pro 12.4, alongside the Xiaomi 14 Ultra in a launch event yesterday. The naming scheme might suggest that Xiaomi is going the Apple route and will be launching a smaller (likely 11-inch) Pad 6S in the near future. In this article, let’s take a peek at the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro including its features, specifications, price in Nepal, and availability details!

    Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro Overview:

    Design and Display

Xiaomi’s Pad 6S Pro features a uniform metal body design with a rectangular camera cutout on the top right and the company’s branding on the bottom alongside magnetic connection points. It weighs nearly 100 grams lighter than Apple’s 12.9-inch iPad Pro but is still somewhat hefty at 590 grams. The tablet is available in Black, Blue, and Green colorways.

Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro Design and Display

On the display side, Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro features an expansive 12.4-inch LCD display. It’s a 144Hz panel of 3048×2932 res and a 3:2 aspect ratio and has all the bells and whistles like professional color calibration (to the CIE2015 curve), Gorilla Glass 5 protection, Dolby Vision support, and more.

    Performance and Memory

Xiaomi has left no stone unturned in the performance department as well. Since the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is likely reserved for their Pad 7 Pro tablet, you get last year’s flagship Qualcomm SoC on the Pad 6S Pro. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is a 4nm octa-core chipset led by a prime Cortex X3 core at 3.2 GHz and other Cortex-A cores.

Similarly, it is complemented by a whopping (up to) 16GB of RAM and (up to) a terabyte of storage. Other memory configurations for the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro (12.4) include 8GB and 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and 256GB and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.

    Battery and Others

Another exciting part about the Pad 6S Pro is its battery life and charging speed. Under the hood, it is fueled by a massive 10,000 mAh battery that can be filled up in just 35 minutes via the 120W adapter in the box. Xiaomi has equipped the Pad 6S Pro with dual custom chips for monitoring fast charging (P2) and safeguarding battery health (G1). This should ensure the safety and longevity of the lithium cells, despite the ridiculously fast charging speed.

The tablet boots on Android 14-based HyperOS. The pins on the back can attach to Xiaomi’s magnetic keyboard folio, or more interestingly to their SUV7 EV and act as an infotainment system. Pad 6S Pro features dual cameras on the back (50MP main + 2MP depth) and a 32MP selfie camera
