Best mobile phones under NPR 20000 in Nepal:
5. Vivo Y19s
Moving on, the newly launched Vivo Y19s takes the fourth medal on our list of best phones under NPR 20000 in Nepal. Vivo has gone with a sharp look here with flat frames. While, Vivo has also secured IP64 dust and splash resistance for this guy.
A bright display
And there’s quite a bit to talk about on the display front as well. The Vivo Y19s has a typical 6.68-inch IPS display with a hole-punch cutout for the front camera. Likewise, it has a 90Hz refresh rate instead of 60Hz. Plus, the Y19s can hit an impressive peak brightness of 100 nits with HBM (High Brightness Mode) on. So if you’re outdoors a lot, then this is gonna be quite useful.
Then again, the Y19s’s performance is nothing extraordinary. It’s powered by the UNISCO T612 (12nm) chip that we’ve seen on a lot of other budget phones, although the one thing I like about Vivo phones is that they don’t compromise when it comes to memory. And you get up to 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage.
The Vivo Y19s enjoys a big 5150mAh battery, which should last you a couple of days at least. As for cameras, you get a 50MP main sensor at the back that can take decent photos, although that 0.08MP auxiliary lens is totally forgettable.
Vivo Y19s Specifications:
- Display: 6.68-inch IPS LCD screen, HD+, 90Hz refresh rate, 1000nits peak brightness
- Chipset: Unisoc T612 (12nm) 4G (12nm mobile platform)
- Memory: 4/6GB LPDDR4X RAM, 128GB eMMC 5.1 storage (expandable)
- Software & UI: Funtouch OS 14 on top of Android 14
- Rear Camera: Dual (50MP primary, 0.08MP auxiliary)
- Front Camera: 5MP sensor (teardrop notch)
- Security: Fingerprint sensor (side-mounted)
- Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 5 (Dual-band), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS / AGPS / Glonass / Galileo / Beidou, USB-C, 4G LTE
- Sensors: Accelerometer, Ambient light, E-compass, Proximity
- Battery: 5150mAh with 15W charging (15W adapter inside the box)
- Price in Nepal: NPR 16,999 (4/128GB), NPR 18,499 (6/128GB)

4. Redmi 13 4G
The newly launched Redmi 13 4G takes the third spot on our list of best phones under NPR 20000 in Nepal. It’s the successor to the Redmi 12 (which also makes a cameo on our list), and it brings a couple of upgrades here and there. Although there are some disappointing downgrades too.
Most notably in terms of cameras because while Xiaomi has swapped that 50MP main camera for a 108MP one here, the Redmi 13 4G gets rid of the useful ultrawide shooter for some reason. But when we tested them both, we found that the new 108MP sensor performs significantly better. It now has a 13MP selfie camera instead of an 8MP one.
HyperOS ftw
Getting to performance, the Redmi 13 4G enjoys MediaTek’s new “Helio G91 Ultra” chip. Having said that, this is nothing but a rebranded Helio G88 found on the Redmi 12. The good news, at least, is that it boots on Android 14-based HyperOS right out of the box.
Other than all this, the Redmi 13 4G has an identical 6.79-inch IPS display with a 90Hz refresh rate. This one is also protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass, but Xiaomi hasn’t clarified exactly which generation of Gorilla Glass has been used here. Then there are a few upgrades in terms of both battery capacity and charging speed as well.
Redmi 13 4G Specifications:
- Display: 6.79-inch IPS LCD screen, FHD+, 90Hz refresh rate
- Chipset: MediaTek Helio G91-Ultra 4G (12nm mobile platform)
- Memory: 6/8GB LPDDR4X RAM, 128/256GB eMMC 5.1 storage (expandable)
- Software & UI: HyperOS 1.0 on top of Android 14
- Rear Camera: Dual (108MP primary, 2MP macro)
- Front Camera: 13MP sensor (hole-punch)
- Security: Fingerprint sensor (side-mounted)
- Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 5 (Dual-band), Bluetooth 5.4, GPS / AGPS / Glonass / Beidou, USB-C, 4G LTE

3. Samsung Galaxy M14
Galaxy M14 (4G) is yet another option you can consider when shopping for the best phones under NPR 20000 in Nepal. It’s available in two memory configurations: 4/64GB and 6/128GB and let me tell you one thing right away, if you can extend your budget, then definitely go with the 6/128GB variant. Definitely.
Price drop!
Because while Samsung’s One UI is great and all, that experience is simply not that enjoyable on the phone with just 4GB memory. And the good news is that the 6/128GB variant of Galaxy M14 recently saw a price drop in Nepal as well. It originally sold for NPR 22,999, and you can get it for NPR 20,999 these days.
Anyway, this is a typical budget phone from Samsung. It’s got a similar design language to what we’ve seen on most Samsung phones recently, you get an average display with a teardrop notch for the selfie camera, while its performance is nothing to write home about either. The Galaxy M14 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 680 chip, which means you gotta be quite patient with this guy in everyday use.
In terms of software, it boots on Android 13-based One UI 5.0. Samsung has committed to 2 years of OS and 4 years of security updates for this guy, and it has already tasted the One UI 6.0 Core (Android 14) update. But even on a budget phone, Samsung flexes its camera muscles since the Galaxy M14’s 50MP main camera can take pretty impressive shots. Granted that there’s sufficient light and all that.
Samsung Galaxy M14 Specifications:
- Display: 6.7-inch PLS LCD screen, HD+, 90Hz refresh rate
- Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 4G (6nm mobile platform)
- Memory: 4/6GB RAM, 64/128GB storage (expandable)

2. HMD Crest
HMD Crest is the latest entry to our list of best phones under NPR 20000 in Nepal, and it rightfully takes the first spot. Under the hood, it brings a fairly capable UNISOC T760, a 5G chip fabbed on a 6nm processor. It is paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
OLED on a budget
This phone brings an OLED panel with an FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate for this range and it’s very commendable. So, you can expect great visuals and good contrast. On the optics side, it brings a dual-camera setup, comprising of 50MP main camera and a 2MP depth sensing unit. Upfront, there is a 50MP selfie snapper.
In terms of design, it features a flat frame design with slightly curved edges. For ingress protection, there is an IP52 rating as well. One peculiar feature here is that HMD offers home-based repairability for the screen, charging port, battery, and back panel. Likewise, fueling the HMD Crest is a 5000mAh cell with 33W fast charging support.
HMD Crest Specifications:
- Display: 6.67-inch OLED screen, FHD+, 90Hz refresh rate

1. Moto G35 5G
Moto G35 5G ranks at no. 1 in our list for best smartphones you can buy under NPR 20,000 in Nepal. This phone gives you 5G connectivity at a really affordable price, which is hard to find in this budget range. The design looks clean with three color options, and you can get vegan leather on the red and green variants if you want something different from the usual plastic phones.
The 6.72-inch display with 120Hz refresh rate feels smooth for scrolling and gaming, and it’s protected by Gorilla Glass 3 so it won’t scratch easily. The Unisoc T760 processor handles everyday apps fine – you won’t have issues with social media, messaging, or light gaming. You get up to 8GB RAM and can expand storage to 1TB with a microSD card, which is plenty for most users.
The camera takes good photos with its 50MP main sensor, and the ultrawide lens is useful for group shots or landscapes.
