Taking the sixth spot in our list is the Zenbook 14 Flip OLED from 2023. It is a compact 14-inch 2-in-1 convertible with a sharp 2.8K screen that refreshes at 90Hz. The OLED panel has 100% sRGB coverage and even has VESA HDR True Black 500 certification. You can use the laptop with the Asus Pen 2.0 stylus, which is included in the box along with an official sleeve.

Zenbook 14 Flip OLED sports a MIL-STD-810H-certified chassis 15.9mm thick and weighing 1.5 kg. There is no dedicated number pad on this laptop, but you can always turn the touchpad into a virtual number pad simply with the button on the top right.

5. Lenovo Yoga 9i (2023)

At number five, we have last year’s Lenovo Yoga  9i. It brings all the good of a premium 2-in-1 convertible laptop and takes things up a notch with exclusive quality-of-life features. This includes the 360° rotating speaker, which along with the other two speakers, sounds really great. The display is also among the best in the segment. It has a 14” OLED touchscreen with 100% DCI-P3 space. It also has support for Dolby Vision HDR and has VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification.

The 360° hinge lets you flip the laptop and use it as a tablet. Lenovo Precision Pen 2 is included in the package but there is no internal component in the laptop to store and charge it.  For security, Lenovo has included an IR webcam and a fingerprint scanner. If ultra portability is what you’re searching for instead, do consider the Dell XPS 13 Plus. It’s super compact at just around 15mm thick and 1.26 kg in weight and features a crisp 3.5k display. The 13.4″ OLED panel is touch-compatible and has minimal bezels all around. The chassis and the keyboard deck also feel high-end and premium.

Under the hood, you are getting a powerful i7 1360P chipset paired with 16GB of fast LPDDR5 RAM. For memory, you get a 512GB NVME SSD that can be swapped in the future for a higher-capacity one. There are 4 speakers with an even woofer + tweeter combo alongside an HD webcam, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, and an IR camera for Windows Hello.

3. Acer Swift Go 14 (2023/2024)

The XPS was a solid ultrabook but it is on the pricier end, so if you want a superb ultrabook without breaking the bank, Acer’s Swift Go is the way to go (pun intended). 

It features (almost) just as crisp OLED display with a faster 90Hz refresh rate, the same tall 16:10 aspect ratio, and full DCI-P3 colors while the performance is even better with an H series processor. There’s ample memory for ultrabook needs and you get it all in a very light 1.25kg package. The only downside might be the lack of Thunderbolt 4 support despite a Type-C port but besides that, everything else is bang for the buck.

Moreover, you can even opt for the newer model with a Core Ultra 7 155H processor with better Intel Arc GPU (integrated) but that guy will bring you an IPS panel with a slightly heavier package.

2. Asus Zenbook 14 OLED 

Zenbooks have always been popular in the ultrabook segment so it’s no surprise that the Zenbook 14 OLED from Asus has managed to secure the second spot in our list of best ultrabooks available in Nepal right now. Here, we’ll list two different options that you can choose between according to your preference and taste.

Both Zenbook 14s are 2024 models but ship with different chips and display configurations. On the blue side, you can pick up a Zenbook 14 OLED (2024) with a Core Ultra 7 155H chip and an FHD OLED screen. That being said, the Ryzen 7 8840HS variant features a crisper and faster 3K 90Hz OLED and also costs less so it might be a better value proposition after all. No matter your choice, you get 16GB of soldered memory alongside ample Gen 4 SSD storage. There’s WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 for connectivity and a 75Wh Lithium battery for powering the laptop.

1. Apple MacBook Air M2/M3 (2022)

Taking the number one spot in our list of best Ultrabooks in Nepal is the Apple MacBook Air (M2/M3). This one comes with the second/third-gen Apple Silicone chip. The M2 is based on an improved 5nm process and brings an 18% faster CPU and a 35% faster CPU while the M3 brings slight improvements on top of that.

Apart from the SoC, the newer Apple MacBook Airs have an overhauled design. They skip the traditional wedge-shaped design in favor of a more Pro-like look.

You’ll not find any differences between the M2 and M3 models. The display is the same 13.6″ Liquid Retina panel with WQXGA resolution. You get a similar 8/256 GB base configuration, and other aspects like battery life, and speakers also don’t see upgrades. The only other change is the inclusion of WiFi 6E and newer Bluetooth on the M3 model.
