Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G launched in Nepal with some changes in camera and battery

0

The Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G was unveiled a while ago in China and India. And this guy has gone official in Nepal with some changes to the camera and battery side. Let’s discuss more on the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G in further detail including its official price in Nepal.

Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G Overview

Design and Display

Right from the get-go, it is pretty clear that Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G is trying to emulate what the higher-end Note offering did last year. Among the available designs, a single purple color option sticks out the most with a vegan leather finish — similar to the Note 13 Pro+! Additionally, the phone comes with IP68 water and dust resistance — pretty reminiscent of you know which phone. It also dons a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front adding to its toughness. The overall design has been overhauled with a reshaped and relocated camera island.

Redmi Note 13 Pro Design

We are getting a 6.67-inch 12-bit OLED screen with 1.5K resolution on the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G. Moreover, it is capable of up to 120Hz refresh rate, 3,000 nits peak brightness, and 480Hz touch sampling rate. In the meantime, the instantaneous touch sampling rate on the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G is much higher at 2,560Hz. Not only that, but it also offers wet hands touch support, 1,920Hz PWM dimming, DCI-P3 color gamut, HDR10+ and has a triple certification from TÜV Rheinland for eye protection features.

Performance

Along with the aesthetic, the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G gets an upgrade on the performance side of things as well. Firstly, the new phone houses the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultra, which is decently better than the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 on its predecessor. It is available in two configurations, those being: 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB. Likewise, the battery is 5,110 mAh. However, the charging speed has dropped to 45W from 67W, which is still plenty fast.

Camera and the rest

The camera department gets some adjustments too. Xiaomi has once again gone for a 200MP main sensor on the global variant, ditching the 50MP Sony LYT-600 sensor found on the Indian and Chinese variants. Other than that, the auxiliary lenses remain unchanged with an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro shooter. Meanwhile, the selfie snapper is now a 20MP unit instead of the 16MP on the previous iteration.

Redmi Note 13 Pro Camera

The Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G supports dual SIM 5G cellular and dual-band WiFi 6 connectivity. Furthermore, you get Bluetooth v5.4 alongside high-quality codecs like LDAC and LHDC-V. There is also NFC, five-way navigation support, and IR blaster as additional wireless connectivity options. Other than that, there is a stereo speaker setup and an X-axis linear motor to enhance the gaming and multimedia experience.

Redmi Note 14 5G launched in Nepal with Dimensity 7025 Ultra

0

Xiaomi just updated its popular midrange offering under its sub-brand — the Note series. Given that, the Redmi Note 13 5G has now been succeeded by a newer phone with welcome upgrades in Nepal. We will discuss the Redmi Note 14 5G further in this article along with its official price in Nepal.

Redmi Note 14 5G Overview

Design and Display

The core design of both phones remains the same, however, the Redmi has given the Note 14 5G enough tweaks to be visually distinguishable. The camera cutout has grown larger, while the back panel has gone back to being curved. Similarly, the camera island has gone a bit softer with the edge and the LED flash has shifted a coupled millimetres up. The phone offers an added level of durability with an IP64 rating, reinforced internal design, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

Redmi Note 14 5G Design and Display

On the front, the Redmi Note 14 5G has a 6.67-inch OLED screen with FHD+ resolution. It offers a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and a peak brightness of 2,100 nits. You also get a standard and instantaneous touch sampling rate of 240Hz and 2,160Hz respectively. The display is capable of HDR10+ and covers the DCI-P3 color gamut. Moreover, it has received TÜV and SGS certifications for eye care features like low blue light.

Performance

The MediaTek Dimensity 7025 Ultra serves as the brain of the Redmi Note 14 5G. With 6nm fabrication and a higher 2.5GHz clock speed, this chipset offers a decent upgrade over the Dimensity 6080 on its predecessor. Furthermore, the chip is paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and 512GB of UFS 2.2 storage. However only the 8/128GB and 8/256GB are likely to launch in Nepal For battery, it has a sizable 5,110 mAh cell with 45W charging support.

Camera and the rest

The primary shooter on the Redmi Note 14 5G is a 108MP OIS-enabled lens coupled with a Sony LYT-600 sensor. Additionally, there is an 8MP ultrawide unit and a 2MP macro sensor. The latter barely adds to the photography experience though. Meanwhile, a 20MP camera sits on the front for selfies and 2D face scanning.

Redmi Note 14 5G Camera

Connectivity-wise, you get dual-SIM support with 5G cellular, dual-band WiFi 5, and Bluetooth v5.3 for wireless medium on the Redmi Note 14 5G. On the other hand, a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack handle the wired connections. For additional security, there is an in-display fingerprint sensor. The company also mentions “Heart rate detection” as a feature on this phone, but refuses to elaborate any further.

Redmi Note 14 4G goes official in Nepal with Helio G99 SoC

0

Redmi is going bonanza with the Redmi Note 14 Series launch. The Xiaomi subbrand took the curtains off from the 4G iteration of the Note 14 as well alongside the Note 14 Pro 4G. And the former has launched in Nepal. This vanilla model gets a Helio G99 SoC and a 108MP camera. In this article, we’ll walk through the specs, features, and official price of the Redmi Note 14 4G price in Nepal.

Redmi Note 14 4G Overview:

Design and Display

To start with, the Redmi Note 14 4G slightly distinguishes itself from last year’s Note 13 4G. The frames are still flat here while the camera module gets a refresh with a squarish look. Meanwhile, the IP54 rating remains unchanged.

Redmi Note 14 4G Design and Display

On the display side, you are greeted with a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1800nits of peak brightness. This 8-bit panel gets Gorilla Glass 5 protection, 960Hz of PWM dimming, and 240Hz of touch sampling rate.

Performance

Running the things from the core on the Redmi Note 14 4G is a Helio G99 SoC. The same 6nm chip from the Note 13 Pro 4G from last year, which is actually fine for the price, this thing carries. Memory-wise, the base variant starts at 6/128GB while the upper trim is 8/256GB. Meanwhile, booting the Note 14 4G is Xiaomi HyperOS based on Android 14.

Optics

Getting to the cameras, you get a triple-camera setup. But the 8MP ultrawide camera bids farewell this time and all we have is a 108MP main camera with useless 2MP + 2MP macro and depth units. But thanks to HyperOS, you do get some flavor of some AI stuff such as AI erase, AI Sky, and such.

Redmi Note 14 4G Camera

Battery and Others

Fueling the Redmi Note 14 4G is a 5500mAh battery with 33W fast wired charging support. Connectivity options include 4G, WiFi 5 (dual-band), Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port. Furthermore, you get an indisplay fingerprint reader and Dolby Atmos powered dual setup speaker.

Redmi Note 14 4G Specifications:

  • Dimensions:163.25 x 76.55 x 8.16 mm
  • Weight: 196.5 g
  • Display: 6.67 inches AMOLED, 1800 nits (peak)

Redmi Note 14 Pro 4G is official with Helio G100 Ultra and 200MP camera

0

The Redmi Note 14 Series has gone global with two additional models: the Note 14 4G and Note 14 Pro 4G. This article will focus on the Pro version with a Helio G100 Ultra SoC and 200MP camera. Without further ado, let’s head straight into the specs, features, pricing, and availability details.

Redmi Note 14 Pro 4G Overview:

Design and Display

Design-wise, the Redmi Note 14 Pro doesn’t distinguish it from its 5G sibling. The square camera module, curved middle frame, and a curved display upfront. Unlike the 5G version with a proper IP68 rating, you only get an IP64 rating here. Talking of the latter, it’s a Xiaomi favorite— the most used— 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 1800nits of peak brightness, and a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. Redmi ships this guy in three colorways: Ocean Blue, Midnight Black, and Aurora Purple.

Redmi Note 14 Pro 4G Design and Display

Performance

Under the hood, the 4G version goes for a Helio G100-Ultra chipset. It’s a 6nm fabbed silicon which is more or less similar to Helio G99 used on the last-gen Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G. So, do not expect a major performance boost, except slight ones. Likewise, Redmi has paired the chip with 8/12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128/256GB/512GB of internal storage. Meanwhile, booting this guy is Xiaomi HyperOS built on top of Android 14, not Android 15 sadly.

MediaTek Helio G100 Ultra

Camera

Talking of the optics part, the setup remains unchanged from the last year. Yeah, a 200MP main (OIS), an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro unit. But with some AI features like AI Erase Pro and AI Beautify. In terms of videography, there is still no 4K recording here sadly. So, 1080p 60fps is all you can go at max. Moreover, you get a 32MP snapper upfront for taking selfies and video calls.

Battery, Charging, and Others

Moving on, fueling the smartphone is a 5500mAh battery paired with 45W of fast charging. Connectivity features include WiFi 5, 4G, VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. Furthermore, you get an indisplay fingerprint scanner for biometrics and Dolby Dolby-powered dual stereo setup for music and media consumption.

Redmi Note 14 Pro Specifications:

  • Dimensions: 162.16 x 74.92 x 8.24 mm
  • Weight:180 g
  • Display: 6.67 inches AMOLED, 1800 nits (peak)
  • Refresh Rate: 120Hz
  • Resolution: 1080 x 2400 pixels, 20:9 ratio (~395 ppi density)
  • OS: Android 14, HyperOS
  • Chipset: MediaTek Helio G99 Ultimate (6 nm)
  • CPU: Octa-core (2×2.2 GHz Cortex-A76 & 6×2.0 GHz Cortex-A55)
  • GPU: Mali-G57 MC2
  • Rear Camera:
    • 200MP, f/1.65, 23mm (wide), 1/1.4″, 2.24µm, multi-directional PDAF, OIS
    • 8MP, f/2.2, 120˚, (ultrawide)
    • 2MP, f/2.4, (macro)
  • Selfie Camera: 32MP, f/2.4, (wide)

Panasonic launches Lumix S5II and S5IIX with Phase Hybrid autofocus

0

Panasonic has officially announced Panasonic LUMIX S5II and S5IIX at CES 2023. Successor to the original Lumix S5, the new mirrorless cameras feature Hybrid Phase Detection Autofocus, a first for Panasonic cameras. Let’s get into more detail about the Panasonic Lumix S5II and S5IIX and their expected price in Nepal.

Panasonic Lumix S5II, S5IIX Overview:

Cameras

Both the Lumix S5II and S5IIX are advanced mirrorless cameras with a 24.2MP 35mm full-frame CMOS sensor and L2 imaging technology. The Hybrid autofocus system, mentioned earlier, combines Phase Detection Auto-Focus, and contrast detection, with a total of 779 AF points. This allows for tracking human and animal movement very well.

Panasonic Lumix S5IIX Design-1

Moreover, with twice the performance of the original LUMIX S5, both cameras can record up to 6K videos at 30 frames per second. They also have burst shooting support at 30fps which is great for capturing fast-moving objects.

Additionally, you can record in 4K at 120fps and 1080 at 180fps for smooth slow-motion footage. Panasonic has used a new heat dispersion method with a built-in fan and heat sink that allows for continuous 4K recording without overheating.

Image Quality

Moreover, the company claims that the camera has more than 14 stops of dynamic range in V-Log/V-Gamut. And they support real-time LUT applications for in-camera calibration by uploading your LUT to the camera directly.

The S5II and S5IIX also have improved dual-native ISO for better low-light performance. Furthermore, both cameras can record 10-bit 4:2:2 video in UHD or 4K resolution.

Stabilization

Panasonic Lumix S5IIX Design -2

This year, Panasonic has also improved the stabilization system, which now includes 5-axis Body IS and 2-axis lens-based OIS, which works for both photos and videos. There is also an Active IS mode for video, which optimizes the horizontal, vertical, and rotational correction ratios by detecting camera shake.

Differences

While the Lumix S5II and S5IIX are identical until now, they differ in a few areas. That is, the S5IIX can output RAW video right out of the box. This feature, however, is available as an optional upgrade with the S5II.

S5IIX, on the other hand, also supports USB-SSD recording as well as ALL-Intra and ProRes recording. There’s also wired and wireless streaming for live streaming, as well as USB tethering.

Panasonic Lumix S5II, S5IIX  Price in Nepal and Availability

In terms of price, the S5II is priced at NPR 240,000. Meanwhile, the  Panasonic Lumix S5IIX costs NPR 280,000.

HDMI 2.2 supports 16K resolution with a whopping 96Gbps bandwidth!

0

There are always new tech surprises at CES and this time we get an upgrade to both the popular display interfaces with HDMI 2.2 and Display Port 2.1b. Let’s quickly look at the improvements, upgrades, and future availability of HDMI 2.2.

HDMI 2.2 Overview

Increased bandwidth

The new HDMI standard brings double the bandwidth of its predecessor at 96Gbps. This allows support for much higher resolutions at a variety of refresh rates. HDMI 2.2 can support 4k at up to 480Hz, 8K at up to 240Hz, 10k at up to 120Hz, and even 16k resolution. That’s a whopping 8 billion pixels per second (16k at 60Hz)  without accounting for overheads. For context, the current display standards: HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 2.1 can power 8k displays at 60Hz and 120Hz respectively.

Note: DP 2.1 also supports 16k at 60Hz but is limited to 8k at 120Hz.

Same connector, new cable

Thankfully, the HDMI connector remains the same as previous generations but you are going to need a new cable to take advantage of this increased bandwidth. The ‘ULTRA96 HDMI Cable’ is much thicker than your typical HDMI 2.1 cable but it does unlock new possibilities for high FPS 8k or even 16k gaming in the future.

HDMI 2.2 Ultra96 cable

The HDMI Forum Inc. also introduced Latency Indication Protocol (LIP) that improves audio video sync for TVs and soundbars. Say goodbye to dealing with trailing dialogues and de-sync in multi-hop systems even when using multiple audio/video receivers.

DP 2.1b

Well, DisplayPort also got a small bump with new DP80LL (‘low loss’) active cables that offer 80Gbps of bandwidth for up to 3 meters utilizing a four-lane UHBR20 link rate. Previously, that kind of bandwidth was limited to just under a meter with the existing DP80 (passive) cables. There’s not much hardware that can fully utilize all its features, but NVIDIA’s recently announced RTX 50 series graphics do support DP 2.1b.

Display Port 2.1b

HDMI 2.2 Availability

HDMI 2.2 will be available to TV and display brands in Q2 of 2025. But, it’ll likely be a lot longer before we see widespread adoption and market availability. HDMI 2.1 was introduced back in 2017, and it took a few years just to see the first TVs with this tech. Widespread adoption took even longer at around 4-5 years. So, if the new version follows a similar timeline, we’ll only get to see HDMI 2.2 as an industry standard sometime around 2030.

Lenovo Yoga Slim 9i (2025) has a webcam under its 4K OLED screen!

Alongside many other refreshes, Lenovo unveiled the latest iteration of its Yoga Slim at CES 2025. The new Yoga Slim 9i (2025) features a stunning 4k OLED screen but what’s even more fascinating is that the webcam is actually hidden underneath this panel allowing for an awesome 98% screen-to-body ratio. In this article, let’s talk about the Lenovo Yoga Slim 9i, including its features and specifications, alongside the expected price in Nepal and availability.

Lenovo Yoga Slim 9i (2025) Overview

Design and Display

The pure aesthetic-driven design of the Yoga Slim is sure to catch your attention. It’s a super sleek premium ultrabook with nearly an all-screen front and a glass-topped lid. The front features astoundingly minimal bezels with a record-breaking 98% screen-to-body ratio all thanks to CUD (Camera Under Display) tech that houses a 32MP sensor underneath. Unfortunately, an early showcase by popular Youtuber Dave2D demonstrates a remarkable drop in image quality from the camera. Hopefully, Lenovo can improve its tech and deliver a more acceptable product in the next iteration.

But what we traded for in the webcam, we surely get in the display department. The Lenovo Yoga Slim 9i (2025) features the brand’s flagship PureSight Pro screen with a 4k resolution, Delta E < 1, full coverage of sRGB and Adobe RGB gamuts, and up to 750 nits of peak brightness. That’s all packed in a 14” form factor weighing just 1.25kg and protected by an ‘impact-resistant’ glass (lid).

Performance and Memory

Staying on theme, the Yoga Slim 9i features an Intel Lunar Lake processor for maximum efficiency. You can spec it up to the Intel Core Ultra 7 258V chip with in-built Arc graphics.

In terms of memory, you get up to 32GB of super-fast 8533MHz LPDDR5X RAM but it’s soldered to the systemboard. For storage, you get up to a terabyte of Gen 4 NVME SSD.

Battery and Connectivity

0

Oppo launched its new batch of products including the updated Reno-series smartphones. The titular Oppo Reno13 comes with the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chipset, AI features, and so on. In this article, we will be looking at the Oppo Reno13 in further detail, including its price in Nepal.

Oppo Reno13 Overview

Design and Display

The Oppo Reno13 comes with flat aluminium alloy frames as well as a flat-screen. It is IP66, IP68, and IP69 rated against water and dust exposure. The phone ships in Midnight Black, Galaxy Blue, and Butterfly Purple colours. Here, the latter option has a butterfly wings-like pattern while the former two come in regular faded shades.

On the front, there is a 6.59-inch AMOLED panel with 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It supports a touch sampling rate and PWM dimming of up to 240Hz and 3,840Hz respectively. Likewise, it can reach a peak brightness of 1,200 nits and covers a wide P3 colour gamut.

Performance and Software

As I mentioned earlier, the Oppo Reno13 has the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 as its primary driver. It is one of the first devices to come with this chipset and has a similar architecture to the Dimensity 8300. Other than that, the phone can come in a configuration of up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage. Meanwhile, it has a large 5,600 mAh battery in the tank while supporting up to 80W Super Flash Charge.

Oppo O+ Interconnection

The software is one of the most exciting aspects of the Oppo Reno13. It boots in the ColorOS 15 based on Android and comes with baked-in AI features. The phone can utilise artificial intelligence to locate, summarise, and rewrite documents. It can also understand what is on the screen. Similarly, the company has introduced O+ Interconnection, which is basically an AirDrop-like feature that also works with iPhones.

Camera

The AI magic continues to the camera and images as well. This phone uses software to upscale and get rid of motion blur and glares as well. It also supports Live Photos and comes with various in-built filters.

Oppo Reno13 Underwater Camera

Talking of the camera hardware, the main sensor and the selfie snapper are 50MP units each. In the meantime, the ultrawide shooter is only 8MP. That being said, due to the high water resistance of the Oppo Reno13, you can shoot underwater photos as well!
