iPhone 17 with a 120Hz display, 48MP “Dual Fusion” camera makes its way to Nepal

0

Apple, the Cupertino-based giant, launched the iPhone 17 series back on September 9 in its “Awe Dropping” event. While iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and iPhone Air may have stolen the limelight, we think the base iPhone was equally impressive this year. And the good news is that it’s now officially available in Nepal! So let’s dive into this article, where I will discuss everything about the latest iPhone 17, including its official price in Nepal, specifications, and availability.

iPhone 17 Price in Nepal and Availability

The official price of the iPhone 17 in Nepal is NPR 157,299 and NPR 197,999 for the 256GB and the 512GB configuration, respectively. Yup, there is no 128GB iPhone this year! You can buy iPhone 17 in Nepal from select Apple-authorized stores, where you will also get the following freebies:

  • a 20W original Apple adapter
  • 2 times front screen + 2 times back glass replacement within 2 years
  • 1-year extended warranty

On top of this, 117 lucky iPhone 17 buyers will also get a chance to win: Apple Watch Series 11 (for 17 winners) and AirPods 4 (for 100 winners).

iPhone 17 Overview

Display

Apple finally did something that honestly should’ve happened years ago. The iPhone 17 gets ProMotion with a 120Hz refresh rate, something that’s been standard on budget Android phones for what feels like forever. It’s rather funny that this has been news—”Apple finally introduces 120Hz!” Because at this point, 120Hz is so basic on most budget devices, these aren’t even subjects of addressing anymore.

iPhone 17 display

But credit where it’s due, the iPhone 17 now also packs a bigger 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR screen that’s brighter than ever at 3,000 nits peak brightness.

A meaningful jump from the iPhone 16‘s 2,000 nits. The bump can be perhaps explained as a representation of Apple’s attempt to find the sweet spot between the compact iPhone and the Plus-sized models they’ve been struggling to position. This LTPO OLED panel can also adaptively scale from 1Hz all the way up to 120Hz, depending on the content.

Ceramic Shield 2 is the new protective layer for the display, and Apple claims it’s 3x better at scratch resistance than the previous generation. The anti-reflective coating is another good touch in the device, although not entirely a novel entry. Always-On display finally makes its way to the standard iPhone as well, showing time, widgets, and Live Activities when the screen dims down to 1Hz.

Design

The design language is not that different from last year. Compared to whatever they’re doing with the iPhone 17 Pro’s polarizing new look, the standard iPhone 17, for me, plays it safe with a clean look. The aerospace-grade aluminum frame also gets a polished finish, and it looks pretty sweet.

iPhone 17 Price in Nepal

The new color options—Black, Lavender, Mist Blue, Sage, and White—ditch the more vibrant palette of the iPhone 16 series. Apple’s going for what they call “Magichromatic” effects with a subtle shimmer in the glass back. And of course, it’s got the “Camera Control” and the “Action” button as well.

Performance

In terms of performance, the iPhone 17 is powered by Apple’s new A19 chip. It’s built on a third-generation 3nm process, packing a 6-core CPU (2 performance, 4 efficiency cores) and a 5-core GPU. Apple claims it’s 1.5x faster than the A15 Bionic from iPhone 13.

The 16-core Neural Engine handles Apple Intelligence tasks, and the jump to 8GB of RAM (from 6GB in the iPhone 16) ensures everything runs smoothly with iOS 26’s new Apple Intelligence features. Apple’s also embedded Neural Accelerators directly into each GPU core.

But to be real about performance in 2025. The usual thing is, performance upgrades are pretty much irrelevant at this point. There’s practically no use for such high-performing CPUs that we had a couple of years back, unless we’re turning a smartphone into a portable workstation like a Mac Mini.

Camera system

Anyway, among the headlining features of the iPhone 17 is the move to dual 48MP “Fusion” cameras. The main camera keeps the f/1.6 aperture with optical-quality 2x telephoto cropping, while the ultrawide camera jumps from 12MP to 48MP with an f/2.2 aperture.

iPhone 17 Camera

The ultrawide upgrade on the iPhone 17 has also sparked mixed reactions online. Some are celebrating the quadrupling of resolution, while others argue that for casual users, the jump feels incremental. And wish that Apple would finally give a true telephoto lens on its non-Pro iPhones.

Anyway, the iPhone 17’s selfie shooter also upgrades to an 18MP “Center Stage” camera with a unique square sensor design. Its auto-framing feature keeps you centered during FaceTime with family, while you can now take landscape selfies even when you’re holding the phone vertically.

Battery life and charging

The A19 chip + a slightly larger 3,692 mAh battery on the iPhone 17 enables up to 30 hours of video playback. Which is 8 hours more than the iPhone 16. Combined with iOS 26‘s new “Adaptive Power Mode” that learns your usage patterns, the battery life story is genuinely improved.

And although it’s still restricted to 25W wireless charging, you can get 50% juice after plugging it in for 20 minutes using Apple’s new 40W Dynamic Power Adapter. Other than this, the iPhone 17 has a new custom “N1” wireless chip for Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread connectivity.

iOS 26 and Apple Intelligence

The entire iPhone 17 series arrives with iOS 26, which brings what Apple calls “Liquid Glass” design language. Whereas Apple Intelligence gets meaningful upgrades, including Live Translation for real-time text and audio translation across Messages, FaceTime, and Phone calls.

The visual intelligence features let you capture screenshots and search or take action on anything you’re viewing. The on-device foundation model works offline, which is genuinely useful for privacy-conscious users. New screening tools for calls and messages help filter distractions, and there’s a new Apple Games app that consolidates all your gaming in one place. CarPlay, Apple Music, Maps, and Wallet all get updates, too.

iPhone 17 Pro launched in Nepal with a new “plateau” design, A19 Pro chip

0

Apple announced the iPhone 17 Pro in its “Awe Dropping” back on September 9. It’s now available in Nepal as well, and this compact flagship Apple phone is a very different device from last year’s titanium-clad iPhone 16 Pro. So let’s take a closer look at the new iPhone 17 Pro, including its official price in Nepal, specifications, and availability.

iPhone 17 Pro Price in Nepal and Availability

In Nepal, the official price of the iPhone 17 Pro is NPR 220,999 for the 256GB model. Whereas its 512GB and 1TB variants cost NPR 259,999 and NPR 299,999, respectively. And if you buy iPhone 17 Pro in Nepal from Apple-authorized stores, you will also get the following freebies:

  • a 20W original Apple adapter
  • 2 times front screen + 2 times back glass replacement within 2 years
  • 1-year extended warranty

Not just that, but a total of 117 lucky buyers have a chance to win Apple Watch Series 11 (for 17 winners) and AirPods 4 (for 100 winners) as well.

iPhone 17 Pro Overview

Design and display

Starting off with the design, Apple has swapped out titanium for a precision-milled aluminum unibody with softer curves and a wide camera “plateau.” But despite the switch to aluminum, the iPhone 17 Pro isn’t lighter than its predecessor. In fact, it’s actually gained some weight (206 gm > 199 gm).

But even disregarding the material used in the iPhone 17 Pro, its design nonetheless feels very polarizing. Especially with the new “Cosmic Orange” finish that some users are calling “traffic cone orange”.

iPhone 16 pro Price in Nepal

This isn’t the first major smartphone to come up with something completely unexpected and unconventional, like the Nothing Phone 3 (review). Alienating even its most die-hard fans.

The display keeps the 6.3-inch size from last year, but brightness is now up to 3,000 nits. Ceramic Shield 2 glass and a new anti-reflective coating make it harder to scratch and easier to see outdoors. The Dynamic Island remains unchanged, though iOS 26 adds a “Liquid Glass” interface that should smooth out animations.

Performance

At its core is the A19 Pro chip with a first-ever vapor chamber cooling setup on an iPhone. And with this setup, Apple claims “40 percent better sustained performance” compared to last year.

Although, in my opinion, it has no practical use as most people won’t notice that in everyday use. The A18 Pro from last year was already strong enough for gaming, editing, or whatever you’d throw at it. But if you’re a gamer, a vlogger, or someone who pushes their phones to the extreme, that sustained performance should definitely be noticeable.

Cameras

The real upgrade comes in the camera system. All three rear lenses are now 48MP — wide, ultra-wide, and telephoto. The telephoto uses a 100mm f/2.8 lens with 4x optical zoom and “optical-quality” 200mm 8x shots.

This may look like a downgrade since the iPhone 16 Pro actually had a 5x optical zoom lens, but Apple has a much higher-res 48MP camera setup this time. Instead of the iPhone 16 Pro’s 12MP telephoto camera.

iphone 17 pro

As for videos about videos, the iPhone 17 Pro improves on video compared to the 16 Pro in a few ways. Its rear cameras still do 4K at 120fps, 1080p slow-motion at 240fps, Dolby Vision HDR, ProRes 4K, Cinematic Mode, and Action Mode, just like before.

But it now adds ProRes RAW, Apple Log 2, and Genlock as well. That last one is more geared towards professional video creators, which allows them to sync footage from multiple iPhones and other supported cameras.

The front camera is a bigger upgrade with the 18MP sensor, which can record stabilized 4K HDR, automatically frame people in portrait or landscape, and even adjust for groups. You can also use Dual Capture to record from the front and back at the same time.

Battery and charging

Apple has also managed to squeeze in a larger battery thanks to the new design. With this, Apple claims this phone has up to 33 hours of video playback, compared to 27 hours on the iPhone 16 Pro. Charging is faster too, since you can get it to 50% in 20 minutes with a new 40W “Dynamic Power Adapter”.

Storage and connectivity

The base storage for the iPhone 17 Pro now starts at 256GB, instead of 128GB, as they had been giving since forever. But unlike the iPhone 17 Pro Max that can be configured with up to 2TB storage, the regular iPhone 17 Pro caps out at 1TB. Meanwhile, connectivity gets a boost with an Apple-designed “N1” wireless chip to handle WiFi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread.

iPhone 17 Pro Max finally arrives in Nepal with a 48MP triple camera setup

0

Just a couple of weeks after its global debut, the iPhone 17 Pro Max has made its way to Nepal as well. Alongside the rest of the iPhone 17 lineup. Its design is easily the most polarizing they’ve done, but other than that, Apple’s latest flagship comes with some fresh updates too. So without any delay, let’s jump into all the new features, specifications, availability, and official price in Nepal of the iPhone 17 Pro Max.

iPhone 17 Pro Max Price in Nepal and Availability

The official iPhone 17 Pro Max price in Nepal starts at NPR 239,999 for the base 256GB variant, while its maxed-out 2TB model fetches a whopping NPR 397,999! You can buy iPhone 17 Pro Max in Nepal starting today from select Apple-authorized stores across the country, where you will also get freebies like:

  • a 20W original Apple adapter
  • 2 times front screen + 2 times back glass replacement within 2 years
  • 1-year extended warranty

On top of this, 117 lucky buyers will also stand a chance to win: Apple Watch Series 11 (for 17 winners) and AirPods 4 (for 100 winners).

iPhone 17 Pro Max Overview

Display and design

The 17 Pro Max keeps the 6.9-inch OLED screen, same resolution as before, but it’s noticeably brighter. Up to 3,000 nits when you’re outdoors. Apple also mentions that this screen’s contrast is twice as good in sunlight. The display is now protected by a 3x more scratch-resistant Ceramic Shield 2 glass, while the back panel gets the Ceramic Shield treatment. The exact display resolution is 2868 x 1320 pixels at 460 ppi, with an anti-reflective coating and IP68 water resistance (up to 6m for 30 minutes).

Interestingly enough, the Cupertino-based tech giant has decided to ditch the more expensive Ttanium body this time for a 7000-series aluminum body. On both the iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Apple specifically chose aluminum over titanium for better thermal management and heat dissipation, with the aluminum being heat-forged for strength and thermal conductivity.

iPhone 17 pro max camera

The 17 Pro Max comes in “Cosmic Orange”, “Deep Blue”, and “Silver” color options. And as you can see, Apple has repositioned its logo a bit lower and replaced the usual square camera module with a long camera strip.

Thickness is up slightly to 8.75mm, mostly to accommodate the larger battery. And compared to the regular iPhone 17 Pro, the Pro Max is bigger, heavier, and has more battery life. That’s it. The other difference is that, unlike the 17 Pro, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is also available with 2TB of storage.

Performance

And powering it all is Apple’s new A19 Pro chip with a 6-core CPU, 6-core GPU, and 16-core Neural Engine. Memory sees a nice bump with 12GB RAM as well, compared to 8GB in the iPhone 16 Pro Max. Apple also added a vapor chamber for the first time on the iPhone, which reportedly delivers 40% better sustained performance. This vapor chamber technology uses deionized water sealed in a laser-welded aluminum chassis to dissipate heat evenly, whose purpose is to prevent throttling during tasks like gaming or just editing videos.

Besides the A19 Pro, the iPhone 17 Pro Max also has Apple’s custom-designed N1 wireless networking chip for Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread connectivity.

Camera

Likewise, the iPhone 17 Pro Max also brags a 48MP triple camera setup for the first time ever on an iPhone. That means the main, the ultrawide, and the telephoto all use a 48MP sensor now.

iPhone 17 pro max camera

The telephoto lens has a 100mm focal length, which offers 4x optical zoom and up to 8x optical-quality zoom with 3D sensor-shift OIS. Compared to how the 16 Pro Max had 5x optical zoom with a 12MP sensor. The telephoto now features a 56% larger sensor with an f/2.8 aperture, supporting both 5x optical zoom and 8x optical zoom, with up to 40x digital zoom and continuous optical zoom.

The front camera has also been upgraded to an 18MP square-shaped sensor with “Center Stage” tech that keeps your subject centered during selfies and videos. The iPhone 17 Pro Max supports 4K Dolby Vision video recording at up to 120fps. It also includes dual video recording capability for simultaneous front and rear capture. Whereas the iPhone 17 Pro Max now supports ProRes RAW recording, Apple Log 2, and Genlock to “precisely synchronize video across multiple cameras and inputs”.

Battery and the rest

This is also the first iPhone to cross the “5,000mAh battery” territory with a 5,088mAh cell. Apple now claims 33 hours of video playback, compared to 27 hours on the 16 Pro Max. And in select markets like Bahrain, Canada, Guam, Japan, Kuwait, Mexico, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, the US, and the US Virgin Islands, the iPhone 17 Pro models are eSIM-only.

Xiaomi 17 Pro launched with a secondary rear display and triple 50MP cameras

0

Xiaomi just unveiled the 17 Pro alongside the standard 17 at a recent Xiaomi event in Beijing. The Pro model brings something we haven’t seen much lately – a secondary rear display built right into the camera module. It’s not the first time we’ve seen this concept, but never a device this powerful. Now, let’s jump into this article, where I will discuss everything about the latest Xiaomi 17 Pro, including its price in Nepal, specifications, and availability.

Xiaomi 17 Pro Overview

The Secondary Display

Xiaomi 17 Pro secondary display

The 2.7-inch secondary display sits around the camera module on the back. It’s roughly 2.5 x 1.8 inches, though the rounded corners and camera lenses eat into the usable space. This isn’t entirely new – Xiaomi tried something similar with the Mi 11 Ultra back in 2021, and we’ve seen rear displays on phones like the Yotaphone series and more recently the Nothing Phone 3 (although it’s slightly different).

What’s different here is how they’ve integrated it. Instead of being a separate element, it’s built around the camera bump. The rectangular lozenge design replaces Xiaomi’s previous circular camera layout, with two prominent lenses on the left side.

The display can show customizable themes, simple clock styles, step counts, animated wallpapers, or even animated pets that reflect your phone’s state. When your battery gets low, the pet looks tired.  For notifications, you get real-time updates for flights, trains, ride-shares, deliveries, and music playback. Pull down for standard phone notifications. There’s also an “AI Pin” feature that lets you pin items like schedules or QR codes for quick access.

Design and Display

Xiaomi 17 Pro Design

The phone is 8mm thick and weighs 192g, which seems reasonable to me given the secondary display and large battery. You get an in-display fingerprint sensor, and the build includes UWB (Ultra-Wideband) support for precise spatial awareness. The colors include Black, Cold Smoke Purple, Forest Green, and White.

The 6.3-inch M10 LTPO AMOLED display is the same panel technology as the standard Xiaomi 17. You get 1220 × 2656 px resolution with variable refresh rates and 3,500 nits peak brightness. The M10 designation represents Xiaomi’s latest display generation with improved power efficiency compared to previous panels.

The LTPO technology allows the refresh rate to drop as low as 1Hz for static content, which should help with battery life, given that massive battery. Peak refresh hits 120Hz for gaming and scrolling.

The bezel implementation is also similar to the standard 17, with those 1.18mm uniform bezels using LIPO packaging technology. The Dragon Crystal Glass protection carries over from the standard model, though Xiaomi hasn’t detailed exactly what improvements this brings over their previous Shield Glass.

Camera

The Pro packs a triple 50MP camera system with Leica tuning. The main sensor is the Light Hunter 950L, paired with a 50MP ultrawide and 50MP telephoto. The telephoto lens differs from the Pro Max’s periscope setup – the Pro Max gets 5x optical zoom and 30cm macro photography, while the regular Pro has a more standard telephoto implementation.

Since we are talking about a camera, i think it’s worth mentioning that the secondary screen’s most practical use might be for selfies. You can use the main camera setup for selfies while previewing on the rear display.

Performance and Battery

Both Pro models and the regular Xiaomi 17 run the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, which we’ve covered in detail elsewhere. You’re looking at AnTuTu scores around 4 to 4.4 million. And this chipset would be more than enough to play games, and in fact overkill for normal social media usage.

Xiaomi 17 Pro

Xiaomi’s pushing a “Handheld Console Mode” with a separate Retro Handheld Console Case that adds a physical D-pad and buttons. You can play small games on the secondary display. But my view is that even though this does seem like a novel concept, i fail to see the practicality of using the secondary display for gaming. Even though the gaming case is sold separately, I again fail to see who’d be excited about this on regular basis? One would surely be bored after a couple of days, after all.

The 17 Pro packs a 6,300mAh battery using a L-shaped design and silicon-carbon technology. Xiaomi claims around 2 days per charge, which sounds optimistic but we’ll see. The 100W wired charging should get you through a full day quickly, with 50W wireless charging for convenience.

Software Integration

Android 16-based HyperOS 3 ships out of the box. The new software includes HyperIsland, Xiaomi’s take on Dynamic Island, plus an AI assistant called Hyper XiaoAi that remembers your preferences and suggests apps proactively. The AI can show contextual information on the back screen, like live flight updates or delivery notifications, without you having to pick up the phone.

Xiaomi 17 Pro Specifications

iPhone 16 Overview

Design

The major design change that we have witnessed on the iPhone 16 is the redesigned camera module. The Cupertino tech giant has brought back the vertical camera layout from the past on this new guy. ‘Cause the last time we saw a vertical camera module was on the iPhone 12.

iPhone 16 Display

Meanwhile, the boxy frame design is here to stay with a metal build in the middle. That’s because the more sturdy and fancy titanium build is reserved for the Pro models to maintain the gap, obviously. Plus, the Action Button is also now available on the vanilla model for the first time, bidding farewell to the mute switch button (RIP alert slider).

So, the volume rockers are there below the action button. Well, that’s not only it, Apple has also added an extra Capture Button on the side of the power button as well. As for the color, it comes in Black, White, Pink, Teal, and Ultramarine.

Display

In terms of display, the iPhone 16 features a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display, the same as its predecessor. While Apple has redesigned the camera module, it has also introduced much thinner bezels. However, the refresh rate remains at 60Hz, which is surprising given that we are nearing the end of 2024. But, as always, it’s Apple being Apple!

Performance

The iPhone 16 uses the Apple 18 SoC across the board. Likewise, a new thermal design with a graphene layer also comes with the iPhone 16 models. Similarly, you’ll now get the memory of 8GB supported by a storage capacity of up to 512GB.

iPhone 16 Specifications

Besides that, a bunch of AI improvements are in the store, with Apple Intelligence marking a new feat in the smartphone market.

Camera, Battery, and Others

iPhone 16 Specifications

The iPhone 16 retains its dual-camera setup, featuring a 48MP main camera and a 12MP ultrawide camera with autofocus, without a resolution upgrade this time. However, it now offers the ability to capture macro shots. On the battery front, it brings a 3,561mAh battery which might contribute to a longer 6% battery life. Moreover, the iPhone 16 brings WiFi 7, a USB Type-C port, and an AI-enhanced Siri experience.

iPhone 16 Specifications

  • Display: 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display, 60Hz refresh rate
  • Resolution: 2556 x 1179 pixels
  • Processor: Apple 18 SoC
  • Memory: 8GB RAM, up to 512GB storage

Apple announced the iPhone 16e a while ago. The new model succeeds the iPhone SE introduced in 2022 and brings several new upgrades, and it’s now available for purchase in Nepal as well. This article will cover everything about the latest iPhone 16e, including its availability and official price in Nepal.

iPhone 16e Overview

Display and Design

The iPhone 16e features a sleek design similar to the iPhone 14, with a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display that offers a resolution of 2532×1170 pixels at 460ppi. The screen can reach a peak brightness of 1200 nits, ensuring visibility in bright environments.

The device also introduces a notch for Face ID, replacing the older Touch ID, aligning with the design language of other recent iPhone models. Compared to the iPhone 16, the 16e is slightly smaller, being 0.1mm narrower and 0.7mm shorter.

iPhone 16e Design and Display

Performance

Internally, the iPhone 16e is powered by the A18 chip, built using 2nd-gen 3nm technology, which is also present in the iPhone 16. This chip, along with 8GB of RAM, ensures that the device can handle Apple’s AI features like Apple Intelligence for tasks such as notification summaries.

The iPhone 16e comes with 128GB of storage as its base option, and there are no 64GB variants available. A notable change in the iPhone 16e is the use of an Apple-developed modem, making it the first iPhone to move away from Qualcomm chips. This new modem supports 5G connectivity, providing faster mobile data speeds.

New Features

One of the standout features of the iPhone 16e is the customizable Action Button, allowing users to quickly access various functions. The device comes with a USB-C port, which is now required in the European market.

Although the phone supports Qi wireless charging up to 7.5W, it does not support MagSafe accessories or fast wireless charging, which is available on pricier iPhone models.

The iPhone 16e also has an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, making it suitable for exposure to water up to 6 meters deep.

The camera system is a bit more straightforward, with a single 48MP rear camera, offering a wide-angle lens with optical image stabilization and a 2x optical zoom telephoto option. It also has a 12MP front-facing camera.

iphone 16e Features

Camera system

The iPhone 16e sports a 48MP wide-angle camera with a 2x optical zoom telephoto option and an f/1.6 aperture. The front camera has been upgraded to 12MP with an f/1.9 aperture. The camera system supports Dolby Vision HDR video recording at 4K 60 fps, slo-mo video at 1080p 240fps, and Cinematic mode up to 4K HDR at 30 fps.

Battery and durability

In terms of battery life, Apple claims the iPhone 16e lasts 12 more hours compared to older iPhones, but this comparison is actually made with older models like the iPhone 11 and iPhone SE series, a subtle detail Apple didn’t make clear.

Despite this, the iPhone 16e does offer a bigger battery and the energy-efficient A18 chip, which results in an improvement in battery performance, with up to 26 hours of video playback. It has an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

Connectivity and features

The device supports 5G (sub‑6 GHz), Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and GPS, providing robust connectivity options. It supports dual SIM (nano + eSIM), Face ID using the TrueDepth camera, and stereo speakers for enhanced audio. Meanwhile, the iPhone 16e runs on iOS 18.

What’s the difference between iPhone 16 and 16e?

While it shares a lot of features with the iPhone 16, including the A18 chip, the same 6.1-inch display, aluminum frames, action button, and an IP68 rating. There are several things the company didn’t highlight.

Notably, the iPhone 16e lacks MagSafe charging, the Dynamic Island feature, cinematic and spatial video recording (due to its single 48MP camera), and the latest-gen Ceramic Shield glass. It also has one fewer GPU core than the iPhone 16 and doesn’t feature the 120Hz refresh rate found in the more premium model. As mentioned above, another significant change is Apple’s shift from Qualcomm to its in-house C1 5G modem for the iPhone 16e, which powers the device’s 5G connectivity.

iPhone 15 Price in Nepal [2025 Updated]

0

If you are looking for an affordable non-Pro iPhone, the iPhone 15 is probably the way to go for most folks. Even though iPhone 17 is already available in Nepal. So in this article, let’s walk through the specs, features, and the latest official price in Nepal of the iPhone 15.

iPhone 15 Overview:

Design and Display

The iPhone 15 shares an identical visual to the iPhone 14. While the titanium frame is reserved for the Pro/Pro Max siblings, the aerospace-grade aluminum frame is still a sturdy thing on the vanilla iPhone 15.

Besides this, its rear panel is polished with nanocrystalline particles for a textured matte finish. Likewise, you get an IP68 rating for protection against dust and water drips. Apple ships this guy in five color options: Black, Blue, Green, Yellow, and Pink.

iPhone 15 Design and Display

Getting to the display, it’s the same panel as the iPhone 14 Pro at 6.1 inches in size. This Super Retina XDR screen bears an FHD+ resolution (2556 x 1179 pixels), HDR10, Dolby Vision, 2,000 nits of peak brightness, and Ceramic Shield glass protection.

Sadly, the refresh rate has stayed the same at 60Hz to bridge the gap with the Pro siblings. What’s new this time is the arrival of Dynamic Island, Apple’s “innovative” way of making the best out of a notch, introduced in the iPhone 14 Pro Series. And this finally marks the end of the gigantic notch.

A16 Bionic

Running the show on the core of the iPhone 15 is Apple’s last year chipset, the A16 Bionic. To recall, Apple brought the culture of using last-gen chips on the vanilla and Plus models from the iPhone 14 series. While it’s not as powerful as the latest A17 Pro SoC on the iPhone 15 Pro lineup, the A16 Bionic still packs a load of punch.

This 4nm-fabbed chip features a hexa-core architecture with two Everest cores at 3.46GHz and four Sawtooth cores at 2.0GHz clock speeds. Handling the graphics tasks and gaming is the 5-core GPU from Apple.

A16 Bionic Chip

As for the software, the iPhone 15 boots on the latest iOS 17. This iteration brings a bunch of improvements and customization options such as customized caller ID, message transcription, Namedrop (sharing contact through Airdrop), StandBy Mode, and such.

Camera

Getting to the optics, Apple still lays a dual camera setup on this vanilla model. However, the primary shooter gets a resolution bump this time, with a 48MP sensor. This quad-pixel camera brings 100% Focus Pixels for swift autofocus.

What’s more interesting is the 24MP super-high-res mode which is set by default. Apple claims superb image quality at a practical file size with this mode. To address the lack of a zoom unit here, this vanilla model offers a 2X telephoto option as well.

iPhone 15 Camera

Moving to the front, you get a 12MP TrueDepth camera engraved on the Dynamic Island which also doubles as a 3D face scanner for biometrics security.

USB-C and others

With the EU mandating a USB-C port in different consumer electronic goods in its region, Apple has finally abandoned its Lightning port on the entire iPhone 15 series.

Unfortunately, the vanilla model equips an older, slower USB 2.0 port while the Pro siblings enjoy a faster USB 3.0 connection. You still get reverse charging via a USB-C to USB-C cable to charge your new updated AirPods Pro and Apple Watch.

iPhone 15 Reverse Wired Charging

As usual, Apple hasn’t mentioned the actual battery size of its latest iPhones, but unofficial third-party teardowns should reveal that info shortly. Anyway, there’s no upgrade in the charging department since the iPhone 15’s wired and wireless charging speed is still capped at 20W and 15W (via MagSafe), respectively.

Whereas the phone still retains satellite connectivity, crash detection, and emergency SOS features. Apple has also introduced “Roadside Assistance” this time, which uses satellite connection for calling in help for vehicles in deserted spots with no cellular connectivity.

iPhone 14 Price in Nepal [2025 Updated]

0

It’s been quite some time since Apple unveiled the iPhone 14 series. The iPhone 14 is the most affordable in this lineup, but it was launched at exorbitant pricing in Nepal. But after a series of price drops, the iPhone 14 is relatively more affordable now. So, let’s take a look at the specifications, features, availability, and the latest official price in Nepal of the iPhone 14.

iPhone 14 Overview:

Design, Display

The iPhone 14 retains the same design as its predecessor. That means a big notch on the front and camera lenses aligned diagonally on the back. The entire body is made of aerospace-grade aluminum and is dust and water-resistant to IP68 standards.

iPhone 14 Design and Display

Similarly, a Ceramic shield protects the iPhone 14’s front. The screen size is 6.1-inch and, as expected, it’s a SuperRetina XDR OLED display with Dolby Vision HDR, P3, and True Tone support. Other display features include a peak HDR brightness of 1200nits and a refresh rate of 60Hz. Sadly, there’s no 120Hz ProMotion this time as well.

Performance

Apple A15 Processor

Inside, Apple has packed last year’s A15 Bionic chip over the latest A16 Bionic. However, this is a 5-core GPU version of the SoC found in last year’s flagship iPhone 13 Pro models. As a result, it performs 18% better than its predecessor. There are three storage options: 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB.

Cameras

As for the optics, the iPhone 14 features dual cameras on the back, including a 12MP wide-angle primary sensor with a larger f/1.5 aperture, sensor-shift OIS, and a secondary 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens. These bigger camera sensors, when paired with the new Photonic Engine, deliver a significant improvement in low-light performance.

The Photonic Engine is a deep integration of hardware and software that improves the main sensor’s mid-to-low-light performance by 2.5x and the ultrawide and selfie camera’s performance by 2x. For the first time, the front camera also has an autofocus feature for selfies and video chats.

Battery

In terms of battery life, the iPhone 14 can provide up to 80 hours of audio playback and up to 20 hours of video playback. It charges with a 20W adapter and takes about 30 minutes to reach 50% capacity. There is also support for 15W MagSafe Wireless and 7.5W Qi wireless charging.

Extras

Finally, with the iPhone 14 series, Apple also announced a “Crash Detection” feature that makes use of the phone’s high-dynamic range gyroscope and dual-core accelerometer. When an accident is detected, the smartphone automatically connects to the emergency service.

iPhone 14 Series Satellite Connectivity

There’s also a new Emergency SOS via Satellite feature, which allows users to send messages even when there’s no cellular connection on the iPhone 14. For this, you need to point the phone directly at a satellite. But since satellites constantly revolve around the earth, Apple has created specialized software that shows you exactly where to point your phone to hit a satellite. This feature is free for two years in the United States and Canada.

iPhone 14 Specifications:

  • Display: 6.1‑inch (2532 × 1170 pixels) OLED, 460ppi, Super Retina XDR
  • Chipset: Six-core A15 Bionic 64-bit processor, 16-core Neural Engine
  • Storage: 128/256/512GB
  • Operating System: iOS 16
  • SIM: Dual SIM (nano + eSIM), dual eSIM

    – 12MP 120° Ultra Wide f/2.4 camera, 5-elements lens

iPhone 13 Price in Nepal [2025 Updated]

1

While the latest iPhone 17 series is quite expensive, given its latest features like a bigger camera sensor, USB Type-C, and faster performance, the 4-year-old iPhone 13 might be the right phone at the right price for most Apple enthusiasts. So let’s take a look at the regular iPhone 13 and its latest official price in Nepal, specifications, and more.

iPhone 13 Overview:

Design and Display

iPhone 13 comes with the same flat edge design that Apple offered in last year’s iPhones. The frame makes use of aluminum, while the corners are rounded. Similarly, the notch on the front is also smaller this time.

Moving on, there is not much to talk about the display. This 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED screen is brighter while retaining all the features of its predecessor. Still, it would have been better if Apple had included 120Hz ProMotion on the non-Pro iPhone 13s, too.

iPhone 13 Display and Design

Moving on, the iPhone 13 has an IP68 rating against dust and water damage. It is offered in five color options: (PRODUCT)RED, Starlight, Midnight, Blue, and Pink.

Performance and Memory

Like the rest of the entries in this lineup, the standard iPhone 13 is powered by the A15 Bionic chipset as well. Apple’s latest mobile silicon is based on TSMC’s 5nm process node and packs 15 billion transistors. Still, the iPhone 13 is not as powerful as its Pro siblings. Here, Apple has included a 6-core CPU and a 4-core GPU—contrary to the 5-core GPU on the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max.

Apple A15 Processor

Apple is also claiming a significant boost in machine learning applications with its new 16-core Neural Engine, which is capable of 15.8 TOPS.

Camera

At the back, Apple has redesigned the camera bump, where the camera sensors are placed diagonally instead. While the ultra-wide camera has remained unchanged, the primary camera gets a couple of changes.

To start with, the iPhone 13 comes with a bigger sensor that can capture 47% more light compared to last year. It’s the same one that was used in last year’s Pro models. Similarly, sensor-shift Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) is now on the vanilla iPhone as well.

iPhone 13 camera setup

With the new Cinematic mode, the iPhone 13 can now automatically shift the focus between subjects based on their movement. One can even change the focus after the recording using apps like Photos and iMovie. Like always, there is a 12MP TrueDepth camera on the front.

Rest of the specs

iPhone 13 also brings a bigger battery. Apple claims that the new 3,240mAh cell on the iPhone 13 can last 2 hours more on offline video playback than the iPhone 12. The charging speed is the same as last year, though.

It supports 20W wired, 15W MagSafe Wireless, and 7.5W Qi Wireless charging. However, you will have to buy the charger separately as Apple doesn’t include one in the box.

iPhone 13 Specifications:

  • Dimension: 146.7 x 71.5 x 7.65mm, 174 grams
  • Display: 6.1-inch (2532 × 1170 pixels) OLED, 460 PPI, Super Retina XDR
  • Chipset: Six-core A15 Bionic 64-bit processor, 16-core Neural Engine
  • Storage: 128/256/512GB
  • Operating System: iOS 16
  • SIM: Dual SIM (nano + eSIM), dual eSIM support
  • Back Camera: Dual:
    – 12MP wide-angle f/1.6 primary camera, 7-element lens, sensor-shift OIS, True Tone flash with Slow Sync, 4K Dolby Vision video recording at 60 fps,
    – 12MP 120° ultra-wide f/2.4 camera, 5-elements lens
  • Front Camera: 12MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture, 1080p video recording, Retina Flash, Dolby Vision HDR recording up to 30 fps, 4K video recording at 60 fps, Slo‑mo 1080p at 120 fps
  • Security: TrueDepth camera for FaceID facial recognition
  • Connectivity: 5G (sub-6GHz and mmWave), Gigabit LTE with 4×4 MIMO and LAA, 802.11ax Wi‑Fi 6 with 2×2 MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS with GLONASS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, and Beidou

The new Xiaomi Pad Mini is Xiaomi’s answer to the iPad mini

0

Xiaomi just unveiled the Pad Mini alongside the Redmi Pad 2 Pro, and it’s positioned as a direct Android alternative to Apple’s iPad Mini. The company is targeting the compact tablet segment, where Android options are surprisingly limited. Now, let’s jump in this article, where I will discuss everything about the latest Xiaomi Pad Mini, including its price in Nepal, specifications, and availability.

Xiaomi Pad Mini Overview

Design

Xiaomi Pad Mini Design

At 326g, the Pad Mini is pretty light for what you’re getting. Xiaomi’s offering it in Gray and Purple colorways, with an optional case that includes a strap for one-handed grip and a kickstand for hands-free viewing. The whole design philosophy here seems to be about portability and comfort more than anything.

Display

Xiaomi Pad Mini Display

The 8.8-inch LCD runs at 3K resolution with a 165Hz refresh rate with peak brightness hitsting 700 nits. You’re also getting Dolby Vision support and full DC dimming to reduce eye strain if you’re used to using devices longer than usual.

Performance and Software Features

The MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ handles processing, paired with either 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB or 512GB UFS 4.1 storage. HyperOS runs the show with some tablet-specific features.  Workstation mode gives you multi-window and split-screen capabilities, which could be handy on that 8.8-inch screen if you need to multitask. The cross-device controls with Xiaomi phones and the ability to use it as a secondary monitor for PC,  The Xiaomi Focus Pen support adds note-taking and annotation capabilities, though we don’t have pricing details for the stylus yet.

Battery and Charging

You also get a 7,500mAh battery with a 67W fast charging. Meanwhile, you also get 18W reverse charging and dual USB-C ports, which is pretty unheard of in most android tablet.

Camera and Audio

The camera setup is as you expected, is very very basic with a 13MP rear shooter that does 4K video at 30fps and an 8MP front camera.  Audio gets more attention with dual stereo speakers supporting Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res audio. For a media-focused device, decent speakers are actually important.

Connectivity and Security

Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 handle connectivity, which is future-proofed for the next few years. The security situation is less impressive though, with only 2D face unlock that’s not secure enough for apps or payments. No fingerprint scanner means you’re stuck with PINs or passwords for secure authentication.

Android 16 is supposed to bring enhanced desktop productivity tools, a Linux Terminal app, and an expanded AI suite with writing assistance, speech recognition, interpretation, and AI art features.
