Huawei FreeBuds Pro 3 is here with ANC 3.0 and “super lossless audio”

    1

Recently, it seems as if Huawei is releasing its products left, right, and centre. But, we aren’t complaining though since the products seem to be very good on paper. In a similar fashion, Huawei has now launched new earbuds and we are here to discuss it. In this article, we will be discussing the Huawei FreeBuds Pro 3 features, audio, availability, and expected price in Nepal.

    Huawei FreeBuds Pro 3 Overview:

    Design

Huawei has taken a rather simple design with the FreeBuds Pro 3, unlike something like Huawei FreeBuds 5 or the Huawei FreeBuds Lipstick. This latest offering from Huawei has a balanced design with groove design grips.

The case of these new earbuds is crafted from nano-processed glass material. As a result, the Huawei FreeBuds Pro 3 has a sleek and stylish one-piece case with added durability. These earbuds are available in three colour options: Yachuan Green, Frost Silver, Ceramic White, and Galaxy Blue.

    Audio

FreeBuds Pro 3 boasts Huawei’s in-house Kirin A2 chipset which uses Polar code for 1.5Mbps lossless audio transmission. This is industry-leading tech and should provide “CD-level” audio.

The FreeBuds Pro 3 features an ultra-hearing dual driver, hence, it is capable of providing you with powerful bass and clearer trebles. Moreover, these buds feature an upgraded “Triple Adaptive EQ” to provide authentic sound quality. Additionally, the FreeBuds Pro 3 ships with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) 3.0 for better background noise elimination. So, you get an uninterrupted listening experience when you’re listening to music or making a call. Moreover, the Surround Sound 2.0 should provide an immersive audio experience. To sum it up, the new FreeBuds Pro 3 offers 40% greater precision, 25% more dynamic response, and 25% less latency compared to its predecessor.

Furthermore, these earbuds support dual high-definition audio decoding in the form of Huawei L2HC 2.0, and LDAC. For that reason, the Huawei FreeBuds Pro 3 earned HWA and Hi-Res double gold standard certification. Meanwhile, these new TWS earbuds boast improved battery life than its predecessor at up to 33 hours of total playback time.

    Huawei FreeBuds Pro 3 Specifications:

    • Sound Driver: Ultra-Hearing Dual Driver
    • Design: Groove Design
    • Build: Nano-processed glass materials for the case
    • Audio Codec: Huawei L2HC 3.0, L2HC 2.0, LDAC

The A17 Pro is not a cool silicon, reports claim overheating and performance throttling

    1

The new iPhone 15 Series launch made the headlines all over and it’s still doing so. People are going bonkers over buying the flagship devices from the Silicon Valley company. But at the same time, news is coming in about the A17 Pro SoC overheating and throttling the performance of the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max. Let’s get more into the news in this article.

    A17 Pro Overheating:

The A17 Pro with console-level gaming capability was the talk of the town when the iPhone 15 Pro series landed. Based on a 3nm fabrication process, the Apple-made silicon was designed to be the best in class. But the recent news is showcasing something really unpleasing for the most-talked flagship device. The iPhone 15 Pro is heating excessively at 48 degrees (118.4F) temperature.

Popular tech Youtuber, @TechTabletscom ran the Wild Life Extreme Stress test which was stressful enough for the flagship silicon to throttle 25% of performance within a span of 2 minutes. It even dropped down to 24% almost after 20 minutes of GPU load.

So what’s causing all the heat?

Turning a few pages back, news about TSMC’s 3nm nodes might have the answer. Just some months ago, the new 3nm tech of TSMC reportedly struggled to maintain a positive yield, making it to just 55%. For starters, a foundry’s production yield refers to the number of chips usable from a semiconductor wafer. So, a higher yield means higher productivity and better cost efficiency.

    Apple A17 Pro Silicon

And Apple happened to be the biggest customer of TSMC’s 3nm nodes. So, netizens are joining the dots here behind the A17 Pro’s throttling issues. Claims have been made about Apple increasing supply voltage to achieve the benchmark results.

    Will Apple do something?

With the heating news spreading all over, Apple might release a quick fix update for that. Which might include limiting the peak performance of the silicon itself. Well, the company has not spoken anything regarding the issue. An official statement might be on the way if the issues continue to persist.

Has Apple forgotten to make the iPhone 15 Pro Max strong?

    1

In the last few years, there has been a trend to push the latest iPhones to their limits and see how they fare. This time’s no different and people have conducted different kinds of durability tests on the new iPhone 15 Pro Max. In this article, we will discuss the results of those endurance trials and see if the iPhone has actually gotten weaker this time around.

iPhone 15 Pro Max Durability Test Overview:

This article is based on a viral video by @JerryRigEverything and includes drop-test results from @EverythingApplePro E A P.

    iPhone 15 Pro Max Build

The iPhone 15 Pro Max introduced a new titanium frame, replacing stainless steel used in the earlier models. Apple used Grade 5 titanium for this handset, making it 8% lighter than its predecessor. It now features curved edges which make it easier to hold. The protective layer on the screen, lenses, and back remains the same with Apple’s proprietary Ceramic Shield.

    Tests

    Glass Scratches

Scratches on any device screen are typically measured using a tool with hardness levels based on the Mohs scale. @JerryRigEverything used the same method to test the scratch resistance of the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

    JerryRigEverything

Apple claims that the Ceramic Shield is the strongest glass ever used on its smartphones. But, the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s screen still ‘scratched at level 6 with deeper grooves at level 7’.

That being said, the scratches at level 6 appeared to be fainter than those on its predecessor. The exact reason for this, whether it is due to Apple’s next-generation Ion-X glass or other factors, remains unknown, but it does seem to be somewhat effective. Moreover, the back and lenses didn’t receive any scratches from his knife.

    Sandpaper

Apple is using a PVD (physical vapor deposition) coating on its titanium frame, a technique used to deposit a thin layer of material onto a surface within a vacuum, adding an ultra-thin protective layer. The sandpaper test on the iPhone 15 Pro Max took that coating off very easily.

    Lighter

When talking about the fire test, the phone was able to tolerate the heat from a small lighter. However, when Zack (from JerryRig) brought a larger burner to the play, the screen gave out. Surprisingly, the titanium frame withstood it like a champ. Regardless of that conclusion, no one is putting their USD 1,199 iPhone in the fire…right?

    Drop and Bend

I did not see that one coming.

Now, here comes the unexpected part: during the bend test, the back of the iPhone 15 Pro Max cracked surprisingly quickly; the screen and frame remained unbothered. It seems that the reduced flexibility of the titanium frame placed all the pressure on the back.

Moreover, when Filip (from EAP) dropped the iPhone 15 Pro Max from the waist level, the back ended up with concerning cracks.

Takeaways from the Durability Test of iPhone 15 Pro Max

Has Apple intentionally made the iPhone 15 Pro Max less durable to make it sleek, or is there no real problem? We’ll only find out with time. It is still too early to come to decisive conclusions especially since the device is so new.
