Honor GT Pro might launch as the cheapest Snapdragon 8 Elite phone soon

0

Honor is getting ready to launch its affordable flagship phone, the Honor GT Pro. But hey don’t mix it up with the Honor Pad GT Pro, which came out a few months ago. This time, we’re talking about a smartphone! In this article, we will discuss everything we know about the upcoming Honor GT Pro rumor.

Honor GT Pro rumor roundup

The rumor mill, thanks to tipster Digital Chat Station, has revealed some key specifications of the Honor GT Pro. While we haven’t heard anything official just yet, this phone will likely compete with heavy competitors like the Realme GT 7 Pro Racing Edition and Redmi K80 Pro. It might just be the budget flagship we’ve all been waiting for.

Honor GT Pro rumor

What to expect?

The Honor GT Pro is expected to feature a 6.78-inch flat OLED screen with a 1.5K resolution. For security, it will come with an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. Under the hood, the phone is rumored to pack a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. And if this turns out to be true, it will be one of the most affordable phones with that powerful processor.

As for cameras, it’s said to sport a flagship-worthy 50MP primary sensor, along with a 12MP ultra-wide lens. When it comes to the battery, leaks suggest a massive 6,000mAh capacity, which is a big jump from the 5,300mAh found in the regular GT model. The better part here is it’s rumored to support 100W fast charging. Other than that, the company is also working on a model with a 700mAh battery, though these might not support 100W charging right away.

Honor GT Pro Availability

As for availability, the Honor GT Pro is expected to launch after the Honor 400 series, which is rumored to debut in May in China. It sounds like the Honor GT Pro is making big headlines soon. Stay tuned!

Samsung is preparing to launch three new models: the Galaxy A26, Galaxy A36, and Galaxy A56. What’s grabbing attention right now is the promise of 6 years of software updates which is a rare feature in mid-range phones. Let’s talk about this piece of information along with other leaked information here.

Galaxy A series gets 6 years of updates

What we know so far!

Samsung recently released a teaser video, giving us a quick glimpse of the new Galaxy A series. The video suggests that the Galaxy A26, A36, and A56 will have a new design with a pill-shaped camera bump on the back. And one thing for sure is that these models will come with 6 years of software support. This means they’ll launch with Android 15 and may receive updates all the way up to Android 21.

Display and Rest

When it comes to the display, the Galaxy A56 is expected to feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen, while the Galaxy A36 might come with a slightly smaller 6.64-inch display. Both models are likely to have a 120Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection. Inside, the Galaxy A56 will likely run on the Exynos 1580 processor. Along with that, it will come with up to 12GB of RAM and ample storage.

Galaxy A series design

In terms of cameras, both the A56 and A36 will likely sport a triple rear camera setup. The A56 may feature a 50MP primary sensor, a 12MP sensor, and a 5MP sensor. On the front, it will get a 12MP front-facing camera. The A36 is expected to have similar front and main cameras but with a 5MP macro sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens.

Unfortunately, we have no details about the Galaxy A26.

Galaxy A series Availability

The new Galaxy A series smartphones are expected to debut this March 2. I am pretty excited about the launch because Samsung is brining something different to the table of mid-range smartphones this time.

This includes the 360° rotating speaker, which along with the other two speakers, sounds really great. The display is also among the best in the segment. It has a 14” OLED touchscreen with 100% DCI-P3 space. It also has support for Dolby Vision HDR and has VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification.

The 360° hinge lets you flip the laptop and use it as a tablet. 6. Acer Swift Go 14 (2023/2024)

If you want a superb ultrabook without breaking the bank, Acer’s Swift Go is the way to go (pun intended).

It features a crisp OLED display with a faster 90Hz refresh rate, the same tall 16:10 aspect ratio, and full DCI-P3 colors while the performance is even better with an H series processor. There’s ample memory for ultrabook needs and you get it all in a very light 1.25kg package. The only downside might be the lack of Thunderbolt 4 support despite a Type-C port but besides that, everything else is bang for the buck.

Moreover, you can even opt for the newer model with a Core Ultra 7 155H processor with better Intel Arc GPU (integrated) but that guy will bring you an IPS panel with a slightly heavier package.

5. Acer Swift X 14 (2024)

Swiftly moving to our fifth spot, the Swift X 14 is a more premium offering from Acer with dedicated GPUs.

There are two configurations currently available in Nepal one with a Core Ultra 5 and RTX 3050 while the more powerful variant has a Core Ultra 7 and RTX 4050. Both ship with fast 120Hz OLED screens with gorgeous colors and crisp images. And everything else like the backlit keyboard, the aluminum chassis, and the large 76Wh battery is the same too.

So, it’s all down to your budget and needs. The Core Ultra 5 125H and 3050 combo should suffice for most of basic streaming and multimedia needs but the RTX 4050, Ultra 7 might be better if you’re a creative looking for an everyday carry. That’s one of Swift’s strengths too. It weighs just around 1.5 kilos and charges via the Type-C port on the left, leaving you another Type-C (Thunderbolt 4), two USB-3 Type As, an HDMI, a 3.5mm jack, and a microSD reader.

4. Asus Zenbook 14 OLED (2025/2024)

Zenbooks have always been popular in the ultrabook segment so it’s no surprise that the Zenbook 14 OLED from Asus has managed to secure the fourth spot in our list of best ultrabooks available in Nepal right now. Here, we’ll list FOUR different options that you can choose between according to your preference and taste.

Asus Zenbook 14 OLED 2024 - Display 1

The first two Zenbook 14s are 2024 models but ship with different chips and display configurations. On the blue side, you can pick up a Zenbook 14 OLED (2024) with a Core Ultra 7 155H chip and an FHD OLED screen. That being said, the Ryzen 7 8840HS variant features a crisper and faster 3K 90Hz OLED and also costs less so it might be a better value proposition after all. No matter your choice, you get 16GB of soldered memory alongside ample Gen 4 SSD storage. There’s WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 for connectivity and a 75Wh Lithium battery for powering the laptop.

The newer 2025 Zenbooks bring improved processors and faster screens into the mix while the rest of the spec sheet reads pretty similar. They are not the most affordable though, so value-wise going with the last gen might be the play!

3. Dell XPS 13 Plus (2023/2024)

If ultra portability is what you’re searching for instead, do consider the Dell XPS 13 Plus. It’s super compact at just around 15mm thick and 1.26 kg in weight and features a crisp 3.5k display. The 13.4″ OLED panel is touch-compatible and has minimal bezels all around. The chassis and the keyboard deck also feel high-end and premium.

Dell XPS 13 Plus 9320 Design Display

Under the hood, you are getting either the i7 1360P or the newer Core Ultra 7 paired with 16GB/32GB of fast LPDDR5 RAM. For memory, you get a 512GB or 1TB NVME SSD that can be swapped in the future for a higher-capacity one. 2. Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura

Although it is not available in the market YET, the Yoga Slim 7i Aura is definitely one of the best ultrabooks you can get in Nepal, mostly thanks to its ridiculously efficient Core Ultra Lunar Lake chipset.

For starters, it’s a 15″ ultrabook weighing just north of 1400 grams with a premium feeling metal build and design! The Yoga has a crisp 2.8K screen running at up to 120Hz with features like 500 nits of brightness and full coverage of the DCI-P3 space. It’s still an IPS panel though so contrast and colors will still pop better on the XPS or the Zenbooks with their OLED screens!

Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Design and Display

The star of the show here is the Core Ultra 7 256V chipset with its efficient architecture that often beats Macbooks in terms of battery life! That’s super impressive if you ask me. Moreover, the integrated Arc graphics is also quite powerful and you get workable 16GB of fast LPDD5x RAM alongside an M.2 SSD for your storage needs!

1. Apple MacBook Air M2/M3 (2022)

Taking the number one spot in our list of best Ultrabooks in Nepal is the Apple MacBook Air (M2/M3). This one comes with the second/third-gen Apple Silicone chip. The M2 is based on an improved 5nm process and brings an 18% faster CPU and a 35% faster CPU while the M3 brings slight improvements on top of that.

Apart from the SoC, the newer Apple MacBook Airs have an overhauled design. They skip the traditional wedge-shaped design in favor of a more Pro-like look.

Apple MacBook Air M2 2022 - Display 1

You’ll not find any differences between the M2 and M3 models. The display is the same 13.6″ Liquid Retina panel with WQXGA resolution. You get a similar 8/256 GB base configuration, and other aspects like battery life, and speakers also don’t see upgrades. The only other change is the inclusion of WiFi 6E and newer Bluetooth on the M3 model.

Samsung is preparing to launch Galaxy A56 in couple of days

0

Samsung is preparing to launch its next mid-range smartphone, the Galaxy A56 in the first week of March. Part of the popular A50 series, the Galaxy A56 is set to follow the same trend of offering a premium build and reliable camera performance. The A50 series has consistently been a strong performer in the mid-range market, and the A56 looks to continue that tradition. In this article, I will be talking about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A56, including its rumors and leaks.

Samsung Galaxy A56 Rumors

Design and Display

The images of the Samsung Galaxy A56 have surfaced online and this somewhat looks like the Samsung Galaxy A16. It has a sleek, minimalistic aesthetic with a triple rear camera setup arranged vertically in a black module on the left side. You will also see an LED flash next to the camera island. Rumors hint that the button you see (below) on the right side is ‘Key Island’ — not sure what exactly this is for!

This smartphone has a flat display with rounded corners. Moreover, the bezels look slim and on the top, you can see a center hole-punch selfie camera.

New Exynos 1580 Chipset

One of the key changes in the Samsung Galaxy A56 is its new Exynos 1580 chipset. This is a significant update from the Exynos 1480 used in the Galaxy A55. The Exynos 1480 had issues with overheating during gaming and could not match the performance of competitors like Snapdragon and Dimensity chips in terms of FPS stability.

In contrast, the Exynos 1580 shows improved specs that could resolve some of these performance problems. The chipset comes with 8 CPU cores, including:

  • 1x prime core at 2.91GHz for single-core performance,
  • 3x mid-cores at 2.60GHz,
  • 4x efficiency cores at 1.95GHz.

Graphics and Gaming Improvements

The GPU is also upgraded to the Xclipse 540, which could be based on AMD’s RDNA 3 architecture. This GPU is a step up from the previous Xclipse 530 and might offer better gaming performance and graphics capabilities.

Software and Rest

The Galaxy A56 is expected to feature 8GB of RAM, though other configurations may also be available. It will run on Android 15, offering the latest software updates. Additionally, this smartphone is expected to offer 45W wired charging.

Samsung Galaxy A56 Pricing and Launch Date

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy A56 will launch on March 2nd in India. It will priced in the NPR 60-66k range just like its predecessors.  We can expect more details about the device soon.

New Lenovo ThinkBooks just landed in Nepal but…

A couple of new Thinkbooks and ThinkPads just landed in Nepal and we are on the way to giving each of them their own spotlight. While the modern ThinkPads were certainly exciting, and the Yogas had a unique value proposition, the ThinkBooks we are covering today have a little less intrigue to them. Regardless, these are pretty good notebook-style devices so let’s take a quick look at the spec sheet and official prices of the Lenovo Thinkbook 14 G7s in Nepal alongside with their availability details.

Lenovo ThinkBook 14 G7 Overview

Design and Display

The ThinkBook is an ultraportable series of notebooks designed for home and office use with a sleek aluminum top and lightweight body weighing just 1400 grams. There’s only a single Artic Grey colorway but it looks pretty nice with a dual-tone design.

Lenovo ThinkBook 14 Design

As for the display, you get a WUXGA (1200p) resolution screen with a 60Hz refresh rate and 45% NTSC colors. Thankfully, you get up to 300 nits of max brightness making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. There’s also a higher-end 100% sRGB version but it still has the same brightness and refresh rate levels.

Performance and Memory

Under the hood, you can either pick between the Ryzen 5 or the Ryzen 7 chipsets but they aren’t the latest or greatest. The Ryzen 5 7535HS and Ryzen 7 7735HS are both Zen 3 processors with 6 and 8 cores respectively. Although not the most powerful, these are efficient AMD processors that should provide a good balance between power and efficiency.

Although the Intel models haven’t made it here yet, you can expect Intel variants (G7 IML) to ship with a mix of U and H series Meteor Lake (Core Ultra) chips. Memory-wise, you can configure these ThinkBooks with up to 64GB of DDR5-4800 RAM alongside two M.2 2280 drives for SSDs.

Battery and Connectivity

Powering the whole thing is a 60Wh Lithium Ion cell that can be juiced up via the 65W USB-C adapter provided in the box. Lenovo says that you can charge your Thinkbook 14 G7 to 80% in just under 1 hour while a full charge can last up to 17.7 hours of video playback. For connectivity, there’s a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port, two Type-A ports, an HDMI, an ethernet jack, an SD card reader, and finally the headphone jack.
