With availability of various laptops in Nepal, the gaming laptop market has become segmented. You can choose from the budget, mid-range, or flagship categories. And here, we’ve compiled a list of the best midrange gaming laptops under NPR 150000 (1.5 lakhs) currently available in Nepal.

How to choose a gaming laptop under NPR 150000 in Nepal?

Let’s first start with the things that you should consider before buying a mid-range gaming laptop. At this price range, you should not settle for GTX graphics like the 1650. You can even get laptops with the latest RTX 40-series GPU with hardware-based Ray Tracing, DLSS AI super-sampling, and DLSS Frame Generation.

As for CPU, you can go with either Intel or AMD as long as you are getting the H-series processors (Intel 13th/14th Gen or Ryzen 7000/8000 series). Instead, pay more attention to RAM and storage. Most gaming laptops under Rs. 1.5 lakh in Nepal ship with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD, which is not enough for gaming in the long run. But while the AMD one houses a Ryzen 7 7840HS, you are getting a weaker Intel i5-12450H on the Intel variant. This is paired with the new-gen NVIDIA RTX 4050 (at full wattage + 25W boost) graphics card with 6GB GDDR6 VRAM. You get a 16GB DDR5 RAM and 512GB SSD storage.

6. Acer Nitro V 15 (2023)

The Nitro V (2023) is the latest addition to the popular Nitro series. You can get a number of CPU / GPU configurations in this series. For this price point, your cheapest option would be to go for an i7 + RTX 4050. But, we recommend a more balanced option i7 + RTX 4060 model for not a whole lot extra. On the other hand, you can also opt for an i9-13900H CPU with a weaker RTX 4050 card as well. Moreover, all cards support DLSS Frame Generation, which can do wonders in many games that support it. But you aren’t getting the full performance because of its 75W TGP which is something to keep in mind.

Opening the lid gets you to the 15.6-inch IPS panel with a 165Hz refresh rate and FHD resolution. Unfortunately, the display might not be up to the mark for creative folks as it can only display 45% of the NTSC colors. Fueling this 2.6kg laptop is a 57Wh 4-cell Li-ion battery with 135W charging.

5. Acer Nitro V 16 (2024)

It is hard to curate a list of the best budget gaming laptops without mentioning the Nitro series from Acer. For this list, we have chosen the new Nitro V 16 (2024) with a Ryzen 8845HS processor and RTX 4050/ RTX 4060 graphics with 6GB and 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM respectively. Moreover, you get 16GB of DDR5 RAM and 512GB of SSD by default. Moving on, the laptop has a 16-inch display with a 165Hz refresh rate and accurate colors (100% sRGB). 4. Lenovo LOQ 15 (2024)

One of the better choices out there is to go with the new LOQ 15 in AMD and Intel flavors. They both hover around that 150k-ish price range and offer slightly different things. The Intel variant has a more powerful Core i7-13650HX with 14 cores and a boost clock of up to 4.9 GHz while the AMD ships with a stronger GeForce RTX 4060 GPU.

The i7 + 4050 combo is matched by the Ryzen 7 + 4060 duo although the Ryzen has a few secrets under the hood. Firstly, the Ryzen 7 7435HS name is quite confusing to get behind, so superficially you can think of it as a repackaged Zen 3 processor without an integrated GPU. That’s a tough blow for a laptop chip but it’s one of the cost-cutting measures that make this low of a price point possible for an RTX 4060 gaming laptop. On the other hand the Core i7 has a snappier day-to-day performance, the Iris Xe saves some battery life, and you get better overall CPU performance. Of course, you will be losing out on 15-20% of GPU horsepower because of an RTX 4050 instead of an RTX 4060.

3. Dell G15 5535 (2023)

In the third spot is the G15 5535 gaming laptop from Dell with a powerful hardware combo. It is powered by a Zen 4-based Ryzen 7840HS processor with 8 cores, 16 threads, and a boost clock speed of 5.1 GHz. On the GPU side, we have the RTX 4060 card from NVIDIA but the company doesn’t disclose its TGP on the product page. Doing some snooping around, it seems like the card is running at the full 140W power so you aren’t leaving any performance on the table.

It has a unique arcade aesthetic to it with its colored shell portion and is built well. The display is an FHD IPS with support for up to 165Hz refresh rate. Colors are also pretty decent at 100% sRGB. Although the MSRP of the G15 is high, it is currently available for just around NPR 150,000 through the Hukut store.

If you’re willing to shell some extra dough, you can also get the Intel variant which ships with a faster Core i7 CPU. But we are cutting some points off and not ranking it as high here because of its scarce availability right now.

Here’s the list of best entry-level laptops that you can currently buy with a budget of around NPR 40000 in Nepal. These are the most affordable laptops in Nepal suited for most basic tasks. However, you can still use it for attending online classes and submitting digital assignments.

In today’s market, it’s hard to find a decent laptop, especially when the budget is around NPR 40000. Previously, you could buy outdated models of popular laptops at discounted rates and get away with the most basic of tasks. But the market has not been the same since the COVID outbreak. Even after having so many laptops price options, there are hardly any laptops in this low price segment. However, we have curated a list of the best laptops around NPR 40000 in Nepal.

At this price point, you won’t get laptops with Intel Core CPUs. At best you will get an Intel Celeron processor with lower TDP so don’t expect smooth performance. Lenovo recently updated its Legion Slim 5 series of laptops for 2024 with the latest AMD chips. And the good news is that the ninth generation of laptops have made their way to our country as well. In this article, we will discuss the Lenovo Legion Slim 5 Gen 9 2024 in further detail including its price in Nepal.

Lenovo Legion Slim 5 Gen 9 2024 (16AHP9) Overview

Design and Display

The 2024 update of Lenovo Legion Slim 5 inherits the exact design as its predecessor. As such, it gets a monotone finish with a large series branding and a smaller company logo on the lid. Additionally, there is also the little nudge up at the top of the screen. Material-wise, it comes with aluminium on top while the base is PC-ABS (plastic). It ships in a single “Luna Grey” colour and comes with a 4-Zone RGB backlit keyboard with a dedicated numpad.

On the front, you get an IPS panel that stretches 16 inches and spans WQXGA in resolution while offering a 100% sRGB colour gamut. Besides that, the Lenovo Legion Slim 5 Gen 9 (2024) is available in two different screen configurations in the international market. Apple gets sued for using toxic “PFA” chemicals in its Watch bands!

Apple has been sued this week over the allegations that certain Apple Watch bands contain harmful “forever chemicals” known as PFAS. Let’s get into the depth of this big news.

Allegations of misleading consumers

A class action lawsuit has been filed against Apple this week in a federal court in Northern California. The lawsuit accuses the tech giant of false advertising and violating various consumer protection laws. The company fails to disclose that certain Apple Watch bands contain harmful “forever chemicals” known as PFAS. The bands in question include the Sport Band, Ocean Band, and Nike Sport Band.

Furthermore, the complaint claims that Apple misled consumers by advertising its Apple Watch as a health-conscious product. The lawsuit argues that by failing to disclose the presence of PFAS, Apple misrepresented the safety and wellness benefits of its product. What are PFAS and why are they dangerous?

PFAS (per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances) are a group of chemicals that are used in consumer products like nonstick cookware, clothing, and some waterproof materials. While they are known for their durability and resistance to stains and water, PFAS have been linked to serious health risks.

Huawei rebranded its P-series of phones into the Pura lineup and launched the first rendition over half a year ago. These phones made their names for their exceptional photography capabilities. Now the Chinese tech giant is preparing to have a go at it once again. Let’s take a look at what we know about the Huawei Pura 80 series so far.
