Apple Watch Ultra Price in Nepal [Updated 2025]

The Apple Watch Ultra is unlike any other smartwatch Apple has launched. It is built specifically for athletes, adventurers, and explorers that live for the outdoor thrill. And it’s officially available in Nepal too! So let’s find out what the Apple Watch Ultra has to offer, alongside its specs, features, availability, and the latest official price in Nepal.

Apple Watch Ultra Overview:

Design and Durability

It goes without saying that the Apple Watch Ultra is absolutely massive. At 61.3 grams and with a gigantic 49mm case, this is the bulkiest Apple Watch yet. Available in a single GPS + Cellular configuration, the Ultra’s case is made of natural aluminum while it has a ceramic and sapphire crystal back.

Besides the usual digital crown (which is slightly larger here) and side button, this thing also has an additional customizable “Action button” on the left. Painted in bright “international orange”, the Action button lets you quickly trigger different shortcuts including compass, Backtrack, workouts, and more.

Apple also says it has designed all the buttons so that they are accessible even when the user has gloves on. Nice! Other hardware upgrades in terms of design include three built-in microphones and dual speakers — which when complemented with Apple’s improved wind noise-reduction algorithms — should deliver crystal clear phone calls even when you’re in a particularly windy environment.

One for recreational divers

There’s even an 86dB siren that’s reportedly loud enough to alert people up to 600 feet (or 180 meters) away from your location. And this adventure-focused smartwatch can handle all terrain or environmental conditions as well.

First off, it is WR100 certified which means you can take it as deep as 100 meters underwater Apple Watch Ultra is also EN 13319 certified for recreational scuba divers, which is an internationally recognized standard for dive accessories. It is further accompanied by a depth gauge and water temperature sensor. Apple says this can be automatically activated once you submerge underwater (for recreational scuba diving or free diving up to 40 meters).

Apple Watch Ultra - Oceanic Plus

And you can view the current depth, water temperature, duration underwater, and other metrics here. The Apple Watch Ultra will also get the new “Oceanic+” app later this fall. Developed in partnership with Huish Outdoors, the app will offer dive planning tips, a logbook, and other personalized data.

It can handle everything*

Besides this, the Apple Watch Ultra is also IP6X dust resistant and the MIL-STD-810H tested against different harsh climate conditions. Apple especially points out that this smartwatch can endure on-wrist temperatures as low as -20°C or as high as 55°C (-4°F to 131°F). Its onboard temperature sensor can also give better insight into your sleep cycles — on top of women’s health and menstrual cycle tracking.

Apple Watch Ultra - Bands
From left to right: Trail Loop, Alpine Loop, Ocean Band

And like the other Apple Watches, the Ultra can also detect when you’ve taken a hard fall or when you’ve been in a car crash, and contact the emergency services. Apple has also designed a couple of new strap options for this rugged smartwatch. The Alpine Loop, Trail Loop, and Ocean Band all serve different purposes; some are for better comfort on long runs while some are intended to be used for water sports.

Display

As for the display, you’re looking at a flat 49mm (1.92″) Always-on Retina OLED screen protected by sapphire crystal. It also boasts an incredible 2,000 nits of peak brightness, so I wouldn’t be worried about outdoor visibility at all on the Apple Watch Ultra.

There’s also a new, exclusive watch face called “Wayfinder” that can display up to 8 complications at a time. Including compass. And it can even transform into stark red for better visibility in the dark.

Performance

At the heart of it all is the dual-core Apple S8 chip. The Apple Watch Ultra runs on the latest watchOS 9 platform which offers advanced running metrics, and it will be getting the watchOS 10 update shortly as well. According to Apple, it can display up to 6 training metrics at once — the highest on any Apple Watch. Compatible with iPhones running iOS 16, watchOS 9 also brings a slew of other features including a new “Low Power” mode, advanced sleep tracking, a redesigned Compass app, and international roaming.

This guy also features the best positioning system on an Apple Watch yet. With both L1 and L5 frequency GPS, it should offer accurate location readings even when you’re in dense trees or something. It also enables the “Backtrack” feature I mentioned earlier. This basically lets you retrace your steps to your original location in case you get lost or disoriented from your intended route.

Apple Watch Ultra - Wearing

It’s similar to the “Track Back” feature on Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. Or “Route Back” on Huawei’s premium smartwatches like the Watch GT 3 Pro. Other than this, the Apple Watch Ultra can track everything from your heart rate, blood oxygen (SpO2), stress, ECG levels, skin temperatures, and more. The updated Workout app on watchOS 9 lets you train for different kinds of workouts. There’s even a new “Multisport” workout that can intelligently switch between swimming, biking, and running on its own.

Battery

Apple Watch Ultra also has the best battery endurance in the lineup. With up to 36 hours of battery life during normal usage on a single charge — or 18 hours with LTE. And you can even extend it to up to 60 hours using the aforementioned “Low Power” mode. As a result, Apple says the Ultra can last you through a long-course triathlon which includes a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike ride, and a full 26.2-mile marathon. And of course, it also supports fast charging via a USB-C magnetic charging cable.

Here’s everything we know about the Samsung One UI 7 so far!

0

Alongside the upcoming Galaxy S25 Series, Samsung is preparing to release the latest iteration of its One UI skin, which is based on Android 15. However, before the official release, the company launched its beta program this Thursday. This article will discuss the Samsung One UI 7 features and availability.

Note: Samsung has delayed the One UI 7 update for older phones after a major bug was discovered.

Samsung One UI 7 Overview

The Samsung One UI 7 has a few similar updates (icons, AI features, and more) to Apple’s iOS 18. However, we can’t complain about the closeness because Apple has also drawn inspiration from Android regarding customization. While One UI 7 is now available for the Samsung Galaxy S24 series in some countries, unfortunately, Nepal is not one of them.

UI 7 is not available in Nepal

Nevertheless, let’s talk about the features Samsung One UI 7 comes with:

AI features

Lately, Samsung has been putting a strong emphasis on AI. One of the key features of One UI 7 is the new writing assistant tools, which help you write, format, and summarize texts. These tools also check spelling and grammar and can convert notes into clear, concise bullet points. Additionally, the Phone app now supports call transcripts when call recording is enabled.

Now Bar

The “Now Bar” is the latest buzz around One UI 7. It’s similar to the iPhone’s Dynamic Island, which shows useful information such as music playback, timers, and stopwatches on the lock screen.

Redesigned camera UI

The camera modes and buttons have been reorganized, making it simpler to find the feature you need. One UI 7 introduces simplified settings for shooting in Pro and Pro video modes. A new zoom control option has also been added to the Pro video mode for a smoother zoom transition.

Additional features

One UI 7 brings some other exciting changes as well. Samsung has finally moved to a vertically scrolling app drawer in One UI 7 (years after other brands switched). You can also adjust the battery protection settings at different intervals, whereas previously you could only limit it to 80%.

Save your iPhone/Android with this 1 Dollar App

0

Have you heard of Pegasus spyware— one that can access almost entire data on a phone? No, it’s not random spyware but rather developed by NSO, an Israeli Cyber Intelligence company, for governments. And maybe your iPhone/Android is also being spied on. But a 1-dollar app dubbed iVerify might be a saver for your iPhone/Android. Let’s learn more about the iVerify app in this article.

iVerify App Overview:

What is Pegasus Spyware?

Before heading into the iVerify App, let’s take a dig into Pegasus Spyware. As aforementioned, NSO Group is a cyber intelligence for global security and stability, based in Israel. It is poised to develop apps and software that help government agencies prevent and investigate terrorism and crime. Pegasus is so powerful that it can do zero-click remote surveillance of smartphones. Which is dangerously powerful actually!

Zero-click here refers to a method that takes advantage of vulnerabilities in software, operating systems, apps, networks, or even hardware. So, it can basically access the entire data of your smartphone easily, if your government plans to do so!

Pegasus Spyware NSO Group

Although NSO only sells it to authorized governments, reports have found it to be used against human rights activists and journalists. To sum up, it’s a dangerous tool that can spy on anyone’s phone easily. Plus, Meta Platforms sued NSO under the United States Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, back in 2019. Likewise, we have Apple filing a lawsuit against NSO in the U.S. and NSO is also on the Entity List for acting against U.S. national security and foreign policy.

iVerify App- a One Dollar App

Apple has implemented several features aimed at detecting compromised devices. But this iVerify App which just costs one dollar might be an even more effective and quicker way to find out whether you have been the target of Pegasus Spyware or not. iVerify is currently offering a subscription-based service to enterprises and other organizations, with continuous scanning support. But you as an individual smartphone user can also download the app and do a scan.

The app is available in two formats: iVerify Basic and iVerify EDR.

The former is for individuals while the latter is for enterprises.  iVerify is a company based in New York that specializes in mobile security solutions.

Spam calls situation in Nepal, and What are our telcos doing about it?

0

With access to a smartphone for almost everyone, Spam Calls are also on the rise duping many innocent people every day. Gen Z and millennials are less likely to be safe from getting tricked while it’s not the same for others. And what are Nepal Telecom and Ncell doing about it? Here in this article, we’ll talk about everything about spam calls and ways to be safe from spam calls in Nepal.

Spam Calls in Nepal

OTP Scams

The most notorious spam calls right now are the banking and digital wallet ones, going around some years for now. What happens here is the scammer pretends as a bank/digital wallet representative and asks for an OTP code for fake purposes. If you provide that OTP number, then, it’s like handing over the keys to a thief. They can then change your password, and log your bank/wallet account on their phones. And their target is pretty obvious— your hard-earned money!

OTP Scams in Nepal

Lottery Scam Calls

As a Nepalese, having Viber/WhatsApp on your phone is very common. These instant messaging apps are everyone’s favorite platforms to get connected to our family, and friends and even for office work. Due to a huge user base, WhatsApp and Viber have also become hotspots for scammers. You might have at least gotten a spam/message once on these platforms. Most of the scam calls are done via international numbers, alluring you a prize money for a competition, you never ever participated in. Especially, the “Kaun Banega Crorepati”  WhatsApp scam has duped so many innocent people. Making them deposit money in the scammer’s account as the preliminary fees to get the prize money and whatnot! And their money goes to the scammer’s account.

Employment Scam

Another common scam going on these days is the employment scam calls. It can be on text messages too. Scammers usually target those looking for a job and provide enticing offers like handsome salaries and pay rates. Here as well, they take fake registration and processing fees and the next you know, your money is gone! In some cases, the scammer can also hook someone for a week doing online tasks and paying no money when it’s the payment time.

How to identify spam calls?

  • Using TruCaller App: If you have the TruCaller app, it can detect a possible scam call. So, you don’t fall into the scam trap.
  • Unsolicited Calls: If you get an out-of-the-blue phone call from another part of the globe with an unknown number, then, you should just avoid taking the call or simply cut it. It’s most likely to be a scam call anyway.
  • Requests for personal information: Duping oneself as a bank/government representative and asking for all your personal details is too fishy. You can term it a scam call right away. Bank or such personnel never ask for personal info such as passwords, OTP, and other details.
  • Fake tech support: This one is the most notorious one when you see a pop-up ad showing phone numbers of reputed tech support and make a call on the phone. Sometimes, they can also directly call you saying there’s a virus on your phone/computer and other reasons.

Airtel launched AI-powered spam detection

Gazing at our neighboring country, Airtel has already begun providing an AI-powered soam call detection feature. It can flag suspicious calls and SMS in real time, warning the users about a potential scam. Airtel is using dual-layer protection with filters at the network and IT systems layers. It relies on the usage pattern, frequency, call duration, use of suspicious URLs, and other parameters to detect a scam phone call. Similarly, Reliance Jio and Vodafone Idea have also commenced the service.

Airtel Spam Fighting Network

Do we have any AI-powered spam detectors in Nepal?

The answer is no. Sadly, both telcos, NTC and Ncell haven’t implemented any AI-powered Spam detector. Nor have we heard of any such plans in the news. Here, the Nepal Telecommunications Authority as the regulatory body should develop a mandatory policy for implementing such spam call detectors in Nepal.

It’s high time, we require powerful spam detectors as smartphone usage is surging as well as the number of spammers. Plus, educating our parents and those unaware of modern technologies seems also very important. Some digital wallets and banks have already begun sharing awareness against OTP and similar scams in Nepal. Most importantly, the telcos should bring spam/scam detection technology to Nepal.

Smartwatches are one of the most trending gadgets right now. And there is one name that really stands out from the rest in this segment — Apple. Apple Watch is the first choice for most individuals looking for a premium smart wearable even in Nepal. So today, we will be discussing the availability and the latest Apple Watch price in Nepal.

Apple Watch Series is officially available in Nepal via Gen Nxt Communication and authorized retailers like Hukut Store. The company is currently selling six models of Apple Watch in Nepal namely Watch SE (2nd Gen), Watch Series 7, Watch Series 8, Watch Series 9, Watch Ultra, and Watch Ultra 2.

Apple Watch Price in Nepal

1. Apple Watch SE (2022)

Here, Apple Watch SE (2022) is currently the most affordable option in Apple’s smartwatch portfolio in Nepal. It’s the 2nd generation of SE, but it isn’t that different from its predecessor. It still sports the same squarish design along with the digital crown and a side button on the right frame.

Apple Watch SE 2022 - Crash Detection

As usual, the watch case is made from 100% recycled aluminum. But Apple has reworked to make the chassis marginally lighter, which is about 10% less than the first-gen Watch SE.

Much like the design, the display side of things remains the same too. That is it’s a Retina LTPO OLED screen with up to 1000 nits of brightness. And Apple has employed Ion-X glass on top of the screen. It has also secured the necessary rating to wear it out in the rain or in the shower.

Moreover, the smartwatch is powered by the Apple S8 chip that’s also used in the Series 8. And like the latter, the Watch SE (2022) can also detect car crashes and connect you to emergency services or emergency contacts. It doesn’t miss out on all health-tracking features either. As for the battery life, it is claimed to deliver 18 hours of usage.

Apple Watch SE (2022) Specifications:

  • Display: Retina LTPO OLED, Up to 1000 nits brightness, Ion-X glass
    • 40mm: 1.53″, 324 x 394 pixels

2. Apple Watch Series 7

Let’s now get into the Apple Watch Series 7. Expectations were quite big on this one as initial rumors and leaks hinted at a substantial upgrade for the first time in years. However, it was later revealed to be just another incremental upgrade in the Watch Series lineup.

Apple Watch Series brings a new Always-On Retina display with almost 20% more screen real estate than its predecessor. Apple reduced the bezels to a minimum and added more curvature at the corners for a more immersive experience. Likewise, it can also get up to 70% brighter than its predecessor.

AppleWatchSeries7 - Display

Apple has also fine-tuned the watchOS software to go with the new screen. This includes a customized watch interface and even exclusive watch faces. Watch Series 7 is also the first in the series to have IP6X dust resistance on top of the usual 50ATM water resistance.

Apple Watch Series 7 Specifications:

The Watch Series 8 is Apple’s last-gen top-tier smartwatch in the Watch Series lineup. Although there’s not much of a difference between it and its predecessor in terms of design, display, or even battery life. But it comes with the S8 chip that apparently offers 20% more performance than the S7 chip on the Series 7. It also has the W3 wireless and the U1 ultra wideband chip.

Apple Watch Series 8 - Temperature Sensor

Moreover, the notable upgrade on this guy from the previous generation is its support for car-crash detection. For this, it uses a built-in gyroscope, high dynamic range accelerometer, barometer, GPS, microphone, and Apple’s advanced sensor-fusion algorithm.

Other new additions are two new temperature sensors with which the smartwatch can give a deeper insight into your sleep cycles by analyzing the overall body temperature throughout the night. According to Apple, it can detect temperature changes as low as 0.1°C. Besides sleep, these temperature sensors also play a big role in curating and predicting women’s menstrual cycles.

Apple Watch Series 9 Smart Stack Feature

You get a 1.69 or 1.9-inch curved Retina OLED display with AOD and 2000nits of peak brightness. the aluminum version gets an Ion-X glass while the stainless steel model goes with a sapphire crystal glass protection.

Now you can finally make a call using Gemini without unlocking your phone!

0

Previously, when you asked Gemini to send a message or make a call you had to unlock your phone first. But now it lets you make calls and send texts without even unlocking your device. In this article, we’ll explore this new feature from Google and show you how to use it.

Gemini’s new feature

Google has introduced a new option called “Make calls and messages without unlocking” in the Gemini settings. As the name suggests, this feature allows you to make calls or send messages while your phone is still locked. It’s currently available in the beta version of the Google app. Once you activate this feature, you can request Gemini assistant to call or text someone without the device locked.

How to use this feature

There are just a few simple steps to follow and you can get this feature:

  1. Open your phone’s settings.
  2. Navigate to Gemini Settings.
  3. Find the “Gemini on Lock Screen” option.
  4. Turn on “Use Gemini without unlocking” and enable both the “Phone” and “Messages” options.
  5. That’s it!

Final thoughts

While this feature is undeniably helpful, it does come with potential privacy concerns. Normally, the extra steps needed to unlock the phone help to protect the information. With this new feature, however, someone could ask Gemini to make a call or send a message without your knowledge, which might feel unsettling to those who prioritize safety. For privacy-conscious users like me, this may not seem like the best choice.

What is SS7 attack and how can you protect yourself? Find here!

An SS7 attack is a security vulnerability that exploits weaknesses in the Signaling System 7 (SS7) protocol, allowing attackers to intercept data, eavesdrop on communications, track locations, and steal sensitive information. In this article, I’ll explain SS7 attacks in detail and offer tips on how to stay aware and protect yourself.

SS7 Attack Overview

Starting with the definition, SS7 (Signaling System 7), is a set of protocols that telecommunications networks use worldwide to manage and route phone calls, text messages, and other services. It’s more like behind-the-scenes technology that makes communication possible, even between networks in different parts of the world.

However, SS7 was developed in 1975, so you know it was not designed with the modern security mindset. As a result, the system has many weak points/loopholes that attackers can exploit which is basically SS7 attack.

ss7 being attacked by hacker

How do SS7 attacks work?

To launch an SS7 attack, an attacker typically needs access to the SS7 network, or to a part of it. This is why in most cases insiders with knowledge of the SS7 infrastructure are involved with facilitating these attacks. So trusted from a telecom company who has access to SS7 can sell that access to a malicious actor. In this case, the attacker does not need to break into a telecom company, they can use the SS7 protocol directly to conduct attacks.

Other than that telecom companies use gateways to connect their SS7 networks to external networks. These gateways can be a weak point and if an attacker gains access to these, they can easily access the SS7 network and exploit the weaknesses in the protocol.

Last but not least, telecoms trust one another when connected to the SS7, and not all companies have high network security. In such cases, hackers make one of these companies a target, attack the whole system, and access the SS7 network.

What after that?

If the SS7 protocol of the communication channel you are connected to is a victim of the SS7 attack, the hacker could easily steal any of your information. With that I mean intercept call and text messages, track your real-time location or prevent you from receiving phone calls and text messages.

How to protect yourself?

By far I have told you about the attack, now let me explain to you the ways you can protect yourself. To be honest, you cannot really stop the SS7 attack from happening but there are several steps you can take to protect yourself and minimize risk:

  • Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): Always enable 2FA on your online accounts to add an extra layer of security. If possible, use apps like Google Authenticator or Authy instead of relying on SMS-based 2FA, which can be intercepted via SS7.

two factor authentication

  • Avoid Public Wi-Fi: Avoid using unsecured or public Wi-Fi networks, especially when conducting sensitive activities such as online banking. Public networks are often easier for attackers to intercept.
  • Keep Your Software Updated: Regularly update your phone’s software to patch known vulnerabilities. While individual phone updates may not directly address SS7-related issues, keeping your software up to date is still an important security measure.
  • Use a VPN for Added Security: When using mobile data or Wi-Fi, consider using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to encrypt your internet traffic. This adds an extra layer of protection and helps prevent unauthorized interception.

Conclusion

Lastly, the SS7 system has a lot of flaws and an attack on one of these weak points is the SS7 attack. While you can not stop this from happening you can protect yourself by some of the ways like 2FA, avoiding public wi-fi, timely updating software, using VPN, and more. Stay alert, stay safe!
