Asus recently refreshed its entry-level TUF gaming laptops for 2024. This includes the TUF F16, A15, and A16, the latter of which we are going to talk about here. So, let’s take a quick glance at the Asus TUF Gaming A16 (2024), its specifications, upgrades, expected price in Nepal, and availability.

Asus TUF Gaming A16 (2024) Overview:

Design and Display

Asus has said that the TUF A16 (2024), alongside the F16, features a new ‘ultra-durable’ chassis design inspired by robust mecha in fiction. As such, it is quite durable with its MIL-STD-810H rating against shocks and impacts. Although the laptop is only available in Gray colorways, ‘Jaeger Gray’ offers a sculpted TUF logo while ‘Mecha Gray’ offers a subtler embossed one.

Talking about the screen, you get up to a 2.5K IPS panel with a 16:10 aspect ratio. There’s a base FHD variant as well but both displays offer a high 165Hz refresh rate, 3ms response time, and full sRGB gamut coverage. There’s also support for NVIDIA’s G-Sync for tear-free gaming.

Performance and Memory

Unlike last year’s all-AMD combo, the Asus TUF A16 (2024) features an AMD CPU with NVIDIA graphics.

There’s AMD’s Ryzen 9 7845HX processor with 12 Cores and 24 Threads. The CPU has a base clock frequency of 3 GHz which can hit a maximum of 5.2 GHz under some single-core workloads.

Complementing that, NVIDIA’s RTX 4070 runs at its full 140W (115W + 25W dynamic boost) and should provide ample power for playing games at 1440p or light creative works.

On the memory side, you are limited to 32 GB (16GB + 16GB) of DDR5 RAM and up to 2TB of Gen 4 SSD.

Battery and Connectivity

Under the hood, a large 90Wh battery powers the Asus TUF A16 (2024). It features WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 for wireless connectivity. As for the ports, you are limited to USB 3.2 Gen 2 speeds and don’t get USB 4 like in the smaller TUF A15 (2024). But there are two of them (2x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C) alongside two USB-As, HDMI 2.1, an ethernet port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Lenovo Tab M11 launched at an affordable price tag!

Lenovo has now announced a new addition to their catalogue in the form of Tab M11. This tablet will come equipped with a MediaTek chipset and Android OS among other things. In this article, we discuss the Lenovo Tab M11 further including its specs and price in Nepal.

Design and Display

The Lenovo Tab M11 has a pretty standard design with a singular camera island on the back and relatively sizable borders up front. The tablet also features the signature “Lenovo” branding near the left end of the back. In terms of thickness, this tablet measures just 7.15 mm and weighs just 465 grams. Furthermore, the Lenovo Tab M11 comes in a metal body and Luna Grey colour.

On the front, we are getting a 10.95” IPS panel as the display. It is a 10-point touchscreen with an anti-fingerprint finish. In terms of resolution, it is a WUXGA panel spanning 1,920 x 1,200 pixels. Meanwhile, it has a 90Hz refresh rate, 400 nits of peak brightness, and a 72% NTSC colour gamut.

Performance

The Lenovo Tab M11 relies on the MediaTek Helio G88 processor coupled with an integrated ARM Mali-G52 MC2 GPU for its performance. The chipset here is an octa-core silicone with 12nm fabrication and a peak clock speed of 2,000 MHz.

MSI, the Taiwanese laptop maker has joined the handheld arena with its first-ever MSI Claw A1M console. This handheld gaming device arrives with a Core Ultra 7 155H processor, Windows 11 OS, and more. In this article, we’ll walk through the specs, features, and expected price of the MSI Claw A1M in Nepal.

Design and Display

The Claw A1M adopts a usual handheld console’s rectangular form factor. It features the ABXY button layout with dual joysticks. You get RGB lights on the gaming keys for a fancy gaming vibe. To enhance the experience, there is a Hall Effect on both triggers and joysticks. Meanwhile, the haptics are handled by a 6-axis IMU vibration motor.

In CES 2024, Acer announced its refresh of the affordable Nitro 17 laptop with new CPUS …and not much more! In this article, let’s take a look at the Acer Nitro 17 (2024) , its specifications, upgrades, expected price in Nepal, and availability.

Acer Nitro 17 (2024) Overview:

Design and Display

The new Acer Nitro 17 (AN17-72) is very similar to its AN17-71 predecessor in the design department. The Nitro logo in the middle, the plastic build, and the heft (3.2 kgs) are all here to stay. I guess you could call the ‘Co-pilot’ key on the 4-zone RGB keyboard a ‘new’ feature but that’s about it. The exact dimensions read 400.2 (W) x 293.25 (D) x 27.9/28.9 (H) mm.

As the name suggests, the Nitro 17 ships with a 17.3-inch IPS panel. Configurations can go up to 165Hz refresh rate, QHD resolution, and full DCI-P3 color coverage. There’s also support for NVIDIA G-Sync and advanced Optimus for an ideal gaming experience.

Performance and Memory

Nitro 17 (2024) comes equipped with 14th Generation Intel Core Raptor Lake refresh chips. This is not to be confused with the Meteor Lake Core Ultra processors which are manufactured using a newer Intel 4 process. That being said, you can configure the machine with a Core i5-14450HX, Core i7-14650HX, or Core i7-14700HX.

GPU options include NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 (6GB GDDR6), and RTX 4060 (8GB GDDR6) chips. Besides that, the new Nitro 17 supports up to 32GB of DDR5 RAM and 2TB of Gen 4 SSD.

The 2024 iteration of the Yoga Pro 9i is here with Intel’s Meteor Lake chips and there’s a lot to discuss. As such, in this article, let’s talk about the Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i (2024), its specs, upgrades, expected price in Nepal, and availability.

Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i Overview:

Performance and Efficiency

One of the major highlights of the new-gen Yoga Pro 9i is what’s under the hood. The laptop is powered by Intel’s Meteor Lake Core Ultra chips. One can configure the machine with processors in the Core Ultra 5/7/9 H family.

Early reviewers like Dave2D report higher efficiency as well as better graphics performance compared to earlier generations. This is likely due to the new chip architecture and Intel Arc graphics which promise not only higher horsepower but also less power consumption.

Besides the Intel chip, you can equip the laptop with up to an NVIDIA RTX 4070 GPU with 8GB of GDDR6X VRAM. Being inside a light and portable laptop, the GPU likely won’t run at its full 115W TGP. Following the norm, the 9th Gen Yoga Pro 9i keeps a slim form factor weighing only 2.18 kg. It comes with a MIL-STD-810H durability rating as well.

On the display front, the new Yoga Pro 9i features a 16-inch panel with 2 configurations. While both displays come with 3.2K resolution (3200x 2000), 165Hz refresh rate, and a 16:10 aspect ratio, aspects like panel type, maximum brightness, color coverage differ a bit here.

The base IPS panel covers 100% of both the sRGB and DCI-P3 color gamuts and can hit 400 nits of max brightness. On the other hand, the more expensive mini-LED displays have astounding colors with 100% of sRGB, DCI-P3, and Adobe RGB color gamuts and can go up to 1200 nits (peak).

Besides that, regardless of your choice, you are getting Dolby Vision support, TUV Low Blue Light Certification, and options for touch input.

Battery and Ports

The Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i 16 (Gen 9) now packs a larger 84 Wh battery: a 12% increase over the 75Wh in the Gen 8 model. This paired with the new efficient Meteor Lake chips boasts way better battery life than before.

Garmin launches the second generation of their Lily Smartwaches!

At this time, all the tech companies are giving us yearly updates on their products. Similar is the case for Garmin — the same company that launched a James Bond-esque Tactix 7 AMOLED a while back. This time around they have announced the next generation of Lily smartwatches! This article will look into the new Garmin Lily 2 series including its price in Nepal.

Garmin Lily 2 Series Overview

The Lily 2 Series consists of two models of smartwatches: the Lily 2 and the Lily 2 Classic. Both these smartwatches are almost the same. The major differentiating factor is their strap materials. The Garmin Lily 2 comes with a silicone strap, while the Garmin Lily 2 Classic gets a more premium choice of either Nylon or Leather straps. Now that’s out of the way, let’s move on with the Garmin Lily 2 series.

Design and Display

The Garmin Lily watches were focused on ladies and as such the newer iteration does the same as well. Given that, the Garmin Lily 2 series is a petite smartwatch with minimal and elegant looks. The watch measures just 35.40 mm in circumference and 10.10 mm in thickness. The Garmin Lily 2 goes with anodised aluminium for case and bezels and comes with multiple choices of strap material and colours.

Meanwhile, on the front, we are getting a greyscale touchscreen LCD measuring 240 x 201 pixels in resolution. Though the screen is not AMOLED, it looks extremely premium nonetheless. This is all thanks to the unique patterns featured in the lens of the watch itself. As such, the Garmin Lily 2 series still shows its elegant patterns when the screen is turned off. Other than that, it features a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for added durability while offering 5 ATM water resistance.

Moving on to the features of the Garmin Lily 2 series, it comes with all the regular watch goodies like time and date, daylight saving, alarm clock, timer, and stopwatch. In the meantime, it also offers health features with constant wrist-based heart rate monitoring, respiration monitoring, blood oxygen saturation, stress monitoring, sleep monitoring, women’s health, and more. It also monitors your energy levels throughout the day to help you suggest the best time for activity and rest.

In terms of fitness, you get a decent selection of activity profiles including cardio, elliptical training, dance fitness, biking, running, treadmill running, walking, yoga, pool swimming, and more. Even though the Garmin Lily 2 series does not have a built-in GPS, it can be connected to a compatible smartphone to offer a GPS-based distance, time, and pace.

Here, it offers different sorts of notifications but text response and phone call rejection through text is only available for Android users. OPPO has recently launched the Reno13 series, including the Reno13 Pro and its smaller sibling, the vanilla Reno 13. In this article, we will focus on the Reno13 Pro, covering its key specifications, features, and expected price in Nepal.

The OPPO Reno13 Pro has a different design compared to the Reno12 Pro. The Reno13 Pro features a more refined look with circular camera lenses and a smoother gradient finish. The edges are now flat, unlike the rounded ones on the Reno12 Pro. The new color options also give the Reno13 Pro a fresher look compared to the previous model. The Reno 13 Pro boasts a triple rear camera system. It includes a 50MP primary sensor (Sony IMX890) with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide lens (Sony IMX355), and a 50MP periscope camera (Samsung JN5) offering 3.5X zoom. Asus ROG 8 Series unveiled with 165Hz AMOLED panel and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3

It’s the time of year! The new ROG phones are here from Asus, the Taiwanese laptop giant. Dubbed the ROG 8, ROG 8 Pro, and ROG 8 Pro Edition, the trio brings all the features for extensive gaming needs like the SD 8 Gen 3, Rapid-Cooling Conductor design, and more. Without further ado, let’s head into the specs, features, and expected price of the Asus ROG 8 Series in Nepal, in this article.

Asus ROG 8 Series Overview:

The ROG 8 Series comprises three models: ROG 8, ROG 8 Pro, and ROG 8 Pro Edition. These are almost the same phones with differences in memory, storage, and RGB logo only.

Design and Display

The ROG 8 Series continues carrying the vibe of the ROG vibes. There is a glowing logo with Aura RGB lighting on the vanilla ROG 8. In comparison, the Pro and Pro Edition models get an LED dot-matrix display. This time, the gaming trio also goes for a slim profile at 8.9mm as compared to the 10.49mm of the ROG phone 7. Plus, you also get an IP68 rating against dust and water drips.

As for the display, the ROG 8 Series sports a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with a whopping 165Hz rate. This Full HD+ res panel also bears LTPO tech (1-120Hz), 107.37% DCI-P3 color gamut support, 2500nits of peak brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection.

Performance

Asus has gone with the latest and greatest chip from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 here. This 4nm fabbed 5G SoC boasts a prime Cortex-X4 core clocking at 3.3GHz, five Cortex-A720 cores at 3.2GHz, and two A520 cores running at 2.3GHz frequency. Handling the graphics is Adreno 750 GPU.

Keeping the heat at bay is the conduction cooling system which uses boron nitride and copper. This setup will directly dissipate the heat via the phone’s rear cover. If that’s not enough, there is a new AeroActive Cooler that can be sapped on the back, claimed to drop the heat by up to 26 degrees Celcius. While booting the smartphones is ROG UI based on Android 14.

Some Cool AI

With every brand joining the AI bandwagon, the ROG 8 Series also gets some AI stuff. The AI Grabber feature can grab in-game texts, for instance; a mission objective from Genshin Impact. Not only that, the tool also works for search results conducted in Gallery, Settings app, gallery, and such. Moreover, you can also create custom wallpapers using the “AI Wallpaper” function.

Camera

Gaming phones usually don’t carry nice optics. But the ROG 8 Series stands as an exception. Both the Pro and vanilla models get a 50MP 1/1.56-inch Sony IMX890 sensor with 6-axis gimbal stabilization. Then, there is a 32MP telephoto lens with a 3X optical zoom and OIS, plus a 13MP ultrawide unit. Meanwhile, you get a 32MP front camera with 90° FoV.
