The MSI G24C4 is the curved VA panel sibling of the MSI G241. Being a VA panel it is prone to black-level smearing. Thus, the MSI G241 with its IPS panel reigns superior when it comes to gaming.

Likewise, the text clarity is not as good, so, avoid this monitor if you work with a lot of text. 

On the other hand, if you spend much of your time binging on movies when not gaming, then this might be the monitor for you. The 3000:1 contrast ratio makes the blacks deeper which is always welcome for movie time.

The G24C4 features the same build quality as the MSI G241. Similarly, it lacks any adjustments besides the tilt. Moreover, it has a 144Hz refresh rate and covers 115% of the sRGB color gamut. The brightness is listed as 250 nits. 

To summarize, choose this monitor if you don’t mind minor smearing and screen tearing and prefer a higher contrast ratio over these setbacks.

The MSI  Optix G241 is yet another great alternative for 1080p gaming. It features an all-out black design except for the red joystick on the back. The build quality is average and the stand only offers tilt adjustment.

The lack of adjustability might be an issue for a few but the default height should be optimum for most.

Next up, we have the Mobiuz EX2510 which is a 144Hz IPS gaming monitor. Like the previous monitor, it features an all-plastic build be it more premium. The brand also provides a back cover to hide wires.

The orange accent on the stand makes it look distinct. Like the G24F, the EX2510 has height adjustments, but, lacks the ability to use it in portrait mode.

One of the features that sets the Mobiuz monitor apart from the G24F is the presence of in-built speakers. For integrated monitor speakers, they sound pretty good compared to the competition.

It has a peak brightness of  400 nits and the contrast ratio is listed at 1000:1. The out-of-the-box color accuracy is better than that of Gigabyte G24F. It also has an sRGB mode that yields professional-level results for content creation.

To start with, it comes with a 23.8” FHD VA panel with a 16:9 aspect ratio. It boasts 120% sRGB coverage with an average delta E of less than 2. The screen refreshes at 165Hz with an MPRT response time of 1 millisecond. Moreover, it brings support for AMD FreeSync and NVIDIA G-Sync for a stutter-free experience. It also has a dedicated HDR mode that dynamically improves the frame’s illumination.

1. Gigabyte G24F

If gaming is your main priority, the Gigabyte G24F is an excellent choice. The 170Hz refresh rate is slightly faster than the 144Hz refresh rate found on most gaming monitors.

In terms of design, this monitor is made entirely of plastic, with no colored accents. The stand has a wide range of height and tilt adjustments, but no swivel.

It has a maximum brightness of 300 nits and a contrast ratio of 1000:1, both of which are adequate for FPS gaming. The 90 percent DCI-P3 and 120 percent sRGB coverage of the IPS panel results in vibrant colors.

The factory color setting, on the other hand, is slightly disappointing with its green tint. As a result, it is advised that you fine-tune it with a good ICC profile.

The Gigabyte G24F has a GTG response time of 2ms and adaptive sync performance that is flicker-free. The included Smart Overdrive mode provides the best overall performance across the refresh rate range.

The price-to-performance ratio on the Gigabyte G24F is tough to beat. However, if you spend a couple of thousand more, I suggest you wait for the G24F 2 which offers refresh rates of up to 180 Hz and wider DCI-P3 coverage for the same price.
