Evercade has launched its latest retro gaming console called the EXP. It is a cartridge-based handheld device with many exciting bells and whistles. So, let’s get into the specs, features, availability, and expected price of the Evercade EXP in Nepal.

Evercade EXP Overview:

Design and Display

Evercade EXP is a follow-up to the original Evercade that was announced in 2020. The EXP has a similar form factor as the original one but now the button letters are inscribed. The addition of R2 and L2 shoulder buttons is another notable change in the design.

The standard Evercade EXP is available in a single white color option. An all-black limited version is also available which comes bundled with several accessories.

It has a standard button layout but lacks a joystick. Moreover, it has A and B buttons for gaming in portrait mode.

More so, the menu button has been moved to the right above the start and select button for ease of access. As for the display, the EXP has a 4.3-inch IPS panel with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels.

Performance

Under the hood, Evercade EXP houses a 1.5GHz processor and 4GB of built-in memory. It supports the whole of Evercade’s cartridge ecosystem with over 300 games.

The TATE mode allows the user to enjoy classic vertical games “the way they were meant to be played”. By turning the EXP 90 degrees, games like Toaplan’s Truxton and Atari’s Centipede can be played in vertical mode by using the dedicated A and B buttons.

There is also a limited version with bundled carrying case, double-sided poster, art cards, keyring, and certificate of authenticity that costs USD 227.

AYN debuts Loki series of handheld gaming PCs to take on affordable and high-end market

AYN, the maker of Odin Android handheld, recently announced the Loki family of handheld gaming consoles. It is offered in several standard configurations, although all versions also have some characteristics in common. So, without further ado, let’s get into the specs, features, availability, and expected price of the AYN Loki series in Nepal.

AYN Loki Overview:

Mini, Mini Pro

AYN has divided Loki into four SKUs—Mini, Mini Pro, Loki, and Loki Pro. As you might’ve guessed, the Mini and Mini Pro are entry-level models in the series and are available with both Intel and AMD CPU configurations.

Here, the chipset options from Intel include a Celeron 7305 for the Mini and a Pentium 8505 chip for the Mini Pro. These are team green’s latest Alder Lake-based silicons with one performance core and four efficiency cores.

Similarly, AYN also offers Mini and Mini Pro with AMD’s latest Mendocino processor based on Zen 2 architecture and paired with RDNA 2 graphics.

The notable difference between these devices is in the battery capacity, with the Mini Pro getting a larger 40.5Wh battery compared to the Mini’s 26.5Wh. Regardless, the memory options comprise 8GB RAM and 128GB of NVMe storage.

Moving on, Loki is the middle ground between the entry-level and top-of-the-line variants. It is powered by AMD’s Zen 3+ architecture-based 6600U CPU and the Radeon 660M GPU (6 core) handles graphics. Memory-wise, you can configure this handheld console with up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB NVMe storage.

The top-tier Loki Pro is driven by a Ryzen 7 6800U processor with Radeon 680M graphics featuring 12 GPU cores. This is coupled with 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and 512GB of storage. Not to forget, all the models enjoy user-expandable storage if in case you need it.

Google has once again joined hands with Samsung for next-gen Tensor chip

Last month, Google officially announced the upcoming Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. As per reports, the Pixel 7 series will be powered by a new Tensor chip. Like its predecessor, the 2nd Gen Google Tensor will be manufactured by Samsung. In this article, we will be discussing everything we know so far about the next-gen Google Tensor chip.

2nd Gen Google Tensor Chip Overview:

The latest news about the 2nd Gen Tensor chip comes from the Korean news outlet Digital Daily. According to their sources, Samsung has already secured orders from Google for the production of the next-gen Tensor chip. To recall, it was Samsung that fabricated the first Tensor chip for the Google Pixel 6 Series.

4nm Process

While the original chip was based on a 5nm process, its successor will be built on top of Samsung’s 4nm process. With the use of a narrower process, the second-gen Google Tensor chip should bring some improvement in power efficiency.

Power efficiency was among the major concerns for Google while designing the Tensor chip. The company even opted for CPU cores based on older ARMv8 architecture for the same.

Google did not go for raw performance but invested heavily in the Machine Learning and AI capability of the chip. It is possible that the 2nd Gen Tensor chip will be heading the same way.

PLP Packaging Technique

Google’s next Tensor chip will make use of PLP packaging technology. As per the report, PLP minimizes discarded edges when cutting chips from silicon wafers. This brings down the cost of each chip while also improving productivity.

Samsung is remarkably close to sealing a deal with Google for manufacturing chips for the latter’s servers. The South Korean foundry is already supplying DRAM and NAND Flash chips to Google, as well as chips for Waymo’s self-autonomous vehicles.

2nd Gen Tensor Chip Mass Production

Mass production of the 2nd Gen Google Tensor chip will start in June, whereas the first phones powered by the chip will be available in October.

LeEco remerges with an iPhone 13-like budget Android phone

Following a brief hiatus because of financial issues, LeEco has finally returned to the smartphone business. The company has just launched LeTV Y1 Pro—its first phone in years. The phone is currently making headlines because of its iPhone 13 resemblance. In this article, we will be discussing the key specs, features, expected price, and availability of the LeTV Y1 Pro in Nepal.

LeTV Y1 Pro Overview:

Design and Display

As mentioned earlier, LeTV Y1 Pro borrows design cues from the more expensive iPhone 13. It sports a boxy design with flat edges and rounded corners. Even the rear camera setup looks almost similar. Over on the front, there is a 6.54-inch LCD screen with HD+ resolution. LeEco has even included a “bathtub” notch, usually associated with the iPhones.

LeEco LeTV Y1 Pro measures 9.5mm in thickness and weighs around 208 grams. It is available in blue, black, and white color options.

Performance and Memory

LeTV Y1 Pro is a lot more underpowered compared to the iPhone 13 that it is trying to imitate. Under the hood, it packs the Unisoc T310 chipset. It’s a quad-core processor built on an older 12nm process.

LeEco has paired the chip with just 4GB of RAM. However, you can choose between 32, 128, and 256GB storage.

LeEco has advertised its iPhone 13 lookalike as having a dual-camera setup. LeTV Y1 Pro comes with an 8MP primary and a secondary AI lens. The company has not clearly detailed the AI sensor and its function. So, it is not wrong to say that it is there solely for marketing. Upfront, the notch houses a single 5MP selfie shooter.

LeEco LeTV Y1 Pro packs a 4,000mAh battery, and there is a Type-C port at the bottom for charging. The phone doesn’t support any fast-charging technology but can accept input of up to 10W. Honor 70 Pro series launched with 10-bit OLED display, 54MP triple rear cameras

After a string of leaks and rumors, Honor has officially unveiled the Honor 70 series in China. It’s the successor to the Honor 60 series from last year and adds a new member to the lineup called the Honor 70 Pro+. In this article, we will look into the specs, features, availability, and expected price of the Honor 70 Pro, and 70 Pro+ in Nepal.

Honor 70 Pro, 70 Pro+ Overview:

Design and Display

Here, the Honor 70 and Honor 70 Pro+ are similar in a lot of aspects, including their design and display. Both come with a 6.78-inch BOE-made OLED screen with QHD+ resolution.

It’s a 10-bit panel with a refresh rate of 120Hz and is 1920Hz high-frequency PWM dimming certified, which helps to reduce screen flickering. You also get an in-display fingerprint scanner for biometrics.

Moving on, the Honor 70 series takes design cues from its predecessor. It keeps the curved edge design and a large pill-shaped camera module on the rear. Likewise, the Mist Stand color of the phone has a diamond cut pattern on the back, whereas the rest of the shades have a matte finish.

Camera

Over on the camera front, the 70 Pro and Pro+ feature a 54MP Sony IMX800 primary lens with a 1/1.49” sensor size. This is Sony’s flagship camera sensor that captures more light for brighter and more detailed pictures, especially in backlit and night scenarios.

Accompanying this is a 50MP ultrawide lens and an 8MP telephoto module with 3x optical zoom and OIS. It’s also worth noting that the ultrawide sensor doubles as a macro lens. For selfies, there is a 50MP camera fitted inside a punch-hole cutout.

Performance

The Honor 70 Pro+ differs from the regular Pro model in one major way, which is the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset. On the other hand, the Honor 70 Pro features a Dimensity 8000 SoC instead. Regardless, both mobile silicons can be configured with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.

Likewise, the handset gets its juice from a 4600mAh battery that supports 100W fast charging. As per Honor, the smartphone is juiced up to 60% in just 15 mins and up to 100% in just 30 minutes. Software-wise, all the smartphones in the Honor 70 series come pre-installed with MagicUI 6.1, which is based on Android 12.

Redmi 11 5G’s specs and pricing revealed ahead of the June launch

Earlier this month, Xiaomi introduced the Redmi 10 in the Nepalese market. Word on the street is that it is now working on its successor. As per reports, Redmi 11 will be a 5G-ready smartphone and will launch as soon as next month. In this article, we will be discussing every detail we know about the upcoming phone from Redmi.

Redmi 11 5G Overview:

If the reports are true, Redmi 11 will be the first phone in the company’s number series to have 5G on board. To note — Redmi had previously announced Redmi 10 5G, but the phone is nowhere to be seen in the market. It could be the case where Xiaomi scrapped the Redmi 10 5G moniker and is now launching it under a new name instead.

Performance and Memory

The phone is said to be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset. The chip is based on a 7nm process and brings two Cortex-A76 cores and six Cortex-A55 cores along with Mali G57 GPU.

Redmi will pair the chip with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There will be a dedicated microSD card slot memory expansion as well.

Coming to the display, Redmi 11 5G will sport a 6.58-inch display with a 90Hz refresh rate. Since it will be a budget-conscious device, we expect it to be an LCD screen with sizeable bezels. It also means that the phone will rock a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Fueling the device will be a 5,000mAh battery, and the phone will support charging speeds of up to 18W. It will run boot on Android 11-based MIUI 13.

As for photography, you will get a dual-rear camera setup of 50MP primary and a 2MP auxiliary sensor. There will be a 5MP selfie snapper over on the front.

Samsung announced a brand new budget phone called the Samsung Galaxy M13. It succeeds the Galaxy M12 and offers a Full HD+, 50MP tri-camera setup, and more. Let’s look at the specs, features, expected price, and availability of the Samsung Galaxy M13 in Nepal.

Samsung Galaxy M13 Overview:

Design and Display

The Samsung Galaxy M13 will be available in three color options: Deep Green, Orange Copper, and Light Blue. The handset measures 8.4mm in thickness and weighs 192 grams. It features a semi-glossy plastic back with a rectangular triple camera island.

The Galaxy M13 utilizes a 6.6-inch Full HD+ panel upfront. Like most budget Samsung phones, it retains the traditional V-shaped notch.

Performance and Memory

The Galaxy M13 is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 850. More so, it is available with either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage paired with a sole 4GB of RAM.

On the software front, the handset boots on Android 12-based One UI Core 4.1 out of the box. The ‘Core’ version of One UI does not have all the One UI 4.1 features to maintain performance on entry-level hardware.
