Corsair Gaming Headphones Price in Nepal [Updated 2020]

Is your Kill to Death ratio on a decline because you can’t figure out the direction of your enemy based on their footsteps? If yes, you are not alone, and it’s time that you invest in a proper gaming headset. Many of us don’t even realize how much of a positive impact a good gaming headphone (or headset) can have on your gaming performance. In this post, we are listing some of the best Corsair gaming headphones (headsets), along with their specs and price, that you can buy in Nepal.

Corsair is a brand that manufactures and sells gaming peripherals and hardware. It started as a RAM manufacturer back in 1994, and it is now one of the most recognized gaming accessories brands in the world. Their portfolio includes mechanical keyboards, gaming mouse/mice, gaming headsets, and gaming chairs. On top of those, their selection of PC components is even more significant. For instance, they sell high-performance RAM, Power supplies, liquid coolers, FANs, storage to custom coolers.

How to decide on a good Gaming Headphone (Headset)?

Several times headphones and headsets are used interchangeably, but they do have differences. Headphones are designed for the best sound quality, and they usually don’t come with any mic. Most of the time, a headset with some gaming features will do just right. You also need to choose between wired and wireless connectivity. The former restricts your body movements while the latter comes with a heftier price tag and may suffer from battery and latency issues. You will also want to look for features such as surround sound or 3D sound; both try to provide realistic sound, but the latter uses more advanced technology and thus is found on only premium models. Check the quality of the mic and see if it can be retracted or detached as well.

However, the most important aspects of any headphone or headset are the design, build, and feel. A headphone with an arc made up of metal or wireframe is better than that made up of plastic. It shouldn’t bother you with its weight. The earcups should be able to cover your entire ear for better sound isolation. It should be soft yet durable.

Corsair Gaming Keyboards Price in Nepal [Updated 2020]

For anyone who is looking to build a new gaming PC or upgrade their existing one, the struggle of finding authentic PC component and gaming accessories are real. There are only a handful of brands dedicated to the gaming industry that are officially available in Nepal. One such brand is Corsair, which entered the Nepali market last year and now has a wide range of products to offer to the still-growing Nepali gaming scenario. Today, we will be looking at some of the best Corsair gaming keyboards that you can buy in Nepal, along with their features, specs, and price.

Choosing a Gaming Keyboard

No matter which game you prefer to play, you need a reliable keyboard that lets you control every aspect of the game. The idea of the best gaming keyboard is subjective as all keyboards are made different, and each appeals to different groups of players. The first thing to look at in a keyboard is the key mechanism. Generally, there are two of them – membrane and mechanical. The former uses a pressure-sensitive layer to detect the keystroke while the latter uses spring-based switches. Mechanical keyboards are faster, durable, customizable, and provide better feedback to the users and thus have a more significant reputation in the market. On the other hand, the membrane keyboard is quieter and is easy on the wallet. There are also keyboards with hybrid mechanisms that are popular with laptops and low-profile gaming desktop.

If you are into gaming, a mechanical keyboard is a way to go, but mechanical keyboards differ in switch type. Switches are assigned to different groups (represent by color) with respect to their features such as facility, speed, sound, actuation point, and force. Different brands have come up with their own color scheme; however, the keyboards on this list all follow Cherry MX’s color scheme, which has been the industry standard for decades now.  Other things to consider are the size of the keyboard, availability of number pad, media control, and programmable macro keys, n-key rollover, anti-ghosting features, and USB passthrough options.

Corsair Gaming Mouse Price in Nepal [Updated 2020]

For anyone who is looking to build a new gaming PC or upgrade their existing one, the struggle of finding authentic PC component and gaming accessories are real. One such brand is Corsair, which entered the Nepali market last year and now has a wide range of products to offer to the still-growing Nepali gaming scenario. Today, we will be looking at the Corsair gaming mouse that you can buy in Nepal, along with their features, specs, and price.

Choosing a Gaming Mouse

When it comes to a gaming mouse, people are divided between optical and laser sensors. Laser sensors are more accurate, and expensive, and are thus used by brands in their flagship products. Optical sensors, on the other hand, don’t have lag and are easier on the wallet. The other thing to consider is the DPI. DPI rating indicates how fast the cursor moves on the screen. Are higher DPI better? It all depends on the kind of player using the mouse. If you make shorter mouse movements, you would require a high DPI mouse.

On the other hand, if you make longer drags, a low DPI mouse will be ideal. To sum it up, look for a mouse with customizable DPI over a wide range so that you can customize it for the best performance possible. Besides this, another thing of equal importance is the design and feel of the mouse. Make sure that the mouse suits your gripping style and is light enough to drag and move around. If you are going for a wireless mouse, you will also have to take the battery and latency into consideration. Other things to consider are polling rate, acceleration, and lift-off distance. A higher polling rate means faster communication between the mouse and the system. Also, we recommend you to go with a mouse with a low lift-off distance and without acceleration.

You will find that Corsair mice are categorized as FPS, MOBA, and MMO according to the kind of games that they are designed to play. DESIGN:

Design-wise, the most apparent change from its predecessor is the camera module and an addition of a macro lens. We also have this patterned gradient back that looks lovely.

But don’t be mistaken by the looks, because it seems like a glass back but in reality, the rear panel and frames are plastic. And during my time with the phone, the back surprisingly hasn’t developed any scratches, though I would strongly suggest you don’t take chances and case it up!

Samsung Galaxy A71 design

Another reason for using a case is for the camera bump that creates an imbalance when placing on a flat surface. But keeping those things aside, I absolutely adore this design choice from Samsung. I love how slim and ergonomic it is despite having a 4,500 mAh battery inside.

PERFORMANCE

Let’s talk performance, and one thing about Samsung’s mid-range phones we absolutely hate is their generosity in providing great chipset. And Although the Snapdragon 730 chipset that this phone has, is somewhat a decent choice but cmon its 2020, and you get cheaper phones these days with SD 730 or 730G.

So maybe Samsung could have gone with their in-house Exynos 9820 that was used on its last year’s Galaxy S10 flagship. Nevertheless, real-life usage is ‘good’ with the 6GB RAM it has. I have zero complaints in that matter, whether it be for normal tasks or rigorous multitasking.

For the hard-core gamers out there, yes, you are going to face a few stutters here and there while pushing the phone to its limits with high-end games. But let me assure you, it’s really only a few stutters and nothing more. Even after some continuous PUBG and COD sessions, I didn’t feel the device break down or heat up, so that’s impressive!

Samsung One UI:

With Samsung’s mid-range phones, it’s usually the slow UI that made us overlook even the good things about those phones. But with the A71, I’ve had quite a good experience.Unlike what you would typically expect on a Samsung midrange phone, the UI on the A71 is very swift. Working around the phone is smooth and I never felt even an s- of stutter while using it.

Also, this might be a minor thing, but I am fond of the icons here too which are subtle and not that flashy. Having said that, the One UI 2.0 is not as polished as, say, the Galaxy S20 that I recently reviewed.  But for a mid-range device, the things you get in here is actually good.

DISPLAY

Playing games has been pleasing in this big AMOLED display. Sadly, the A71 does not support a higher refresh rate. Therefore, I’m shying away from calling its display the best in its range. Well, we cannot rule out the fact that a 120Hz display is all the rage right now, can we?

Samsung Galaxy A71 display

Even so, quality-wise, it’s hard not to admire this screen. The ever so tiny notch up top is non-intrusive and looks very nice actually. At a time when smartphone brands are either going for traditional notches or those god-awful dual punch holes, this one is a good-looking implementation in comparison!

The indoor brightness is more than enough and even outdoors in bright sunny days, you won’t be disappointed. The device is Widevine L1 certified but for unknown reasons, is not HDR10 compatible. And Samsung is still using the older Gorilla Glass 3 protection here. So, make sure you install a good screen protector. I, on the other hand, haven’t used any tempered glass on the unit I have and there are already few evident scratches.

Samsung Galaxy A71 display

Likewise, because of the price restriction, the display doesn’t have those fancy curves. But the bezels are minimal and the display has an impressive 20:9 aspect ratio! So, display-wise, things look great here, although I hope the next iteration comes with a higher refresh rate display!

But since it’s the signature AMOLED panel from Samsung, you get perks like having an Always-On Display that you can customize to show whenever you want. There’s also an in-display fingerprint sensor which I’ll talk about later.

BATTERY

And about the battery, I have to say that it’s very enduring. For the heavy users out there, this phone is the way to go.

It gets you through a couple of hours of gaming, a lot of social media & YouTube and some photography with a little juice left at the end of the day. Plus, it’s a 60 Hz screen so there won’t be excessive drainage too. In very basic usage, it will get you through a day and a half of battery life, so that’s pretty cool.

Also, it fills in very fast as well. The 25-watt charger you get inside the box fills the battery in slightly over one hour and ten minutes. The faster charging is also the result of the Type-C to Type-C power delivery mechanism the phone employs. This might be something unique in a device of this price range, but if your laptop does not have a USB C port, data sharing might be some trouble for you. You will need an extra USB cable or a dongle.

CAMERA

Samsung’s mid-range devices never disappoint when it comes to camera performance and it really shows here.

The Galaxy A71 has a quad camera setup with a 64MP primary lens, followed by a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 5MP depth sensor, and an additional 5MP macro lens. And although the A71 here uses the same 64MP Samsung GW1 sensor like the Realme X2 and the Redmi Note 8 Pro, Samsung’s optimization is better if you nitpick aspects like details, color reproduction and sometimes HDR too!

The primary pixel binned 16MP images from the A71 are very rich in colors. Although some might think that they are a bit on the saturated side, I think it looks pleasing, to be honest. The details captured look fine and HDR works considerably well. The best images from the A71 are mostly reflected in natural elements like flowers and landscapes because Samsung’s optimization works best here.

The Ultra-Wide-angle sensor is also another impressive thing about the A71. Mostly, you get a standard 8MP sensor in midrange phones, but Samsung has gone a step further with a 12MP one, so you are getting more details. And not only that, the HDR works well too and the colors are as good as the primary lens.

The portrait shots also do not disappoint. The subject focus is on point and the background is definitely nice too. The edge detection isn’t as good as say the flagship one’s but overall, you will like them most of the times.

Speaking of disappointment, it has to be the macro lens here. Not only you cannot focus on the images while taking it, the  captured images produced, most of the times, are not very appealing in terms of quality. Maybe with the best possible lighting, you can get a few good enough shots & that’s about it.

Now talking about the 32MP selfie camera, it is very very good. Selfies usually have a good color tone and look good overall. Unlike Realme X2’s, this one has good HDR capabilities. So, even if I clicked selfies during sunny days, I got good looking pictures. Portrait selfies are not the best as its software at work but not anything to complain about either.

For the Tiktok users, this selfie camera even has a slow-mo video feature with which you can add a little flair to your videos. And even for others, you can definitely have some fun with this feature.

Talking of videos, quality-wise, they look good. You can crank the resolution up to 4K, but all the resolutions only support up to 30 fps, which, I think works for an average person, but for me, I think Samsung should have given a 60-fps option at least in FHD resolution. Also, talking of stabilization, 4k videos come out wobbly but 1080p videos have good stabilization.

While I have liked the images from the back camera, night time images are nothing out of the ordinary. So, most of the time I used the night mode which improves the exposure and details in images. It does crop the picture a little bit, which I don’t understand why. You can click wide-angle images from the night mode as well, which balances the exposure a little bit. But the normal night time wide-angle-images are not so impressive by themselves, as it is just a slight improvement and nothing else.

So, Overall, in terms of the camera, the only aspect where the Galaxy A71 left me wanting for more is the 60fps videos. Skip that and the rest are fine by my standards. I particularly liked the ultra-wide-angle shots, which I personally think more and more brands on their midrange lineup should focus on.

BIOMETRICS

But something that I have always wanted Samsung to improve on is their slow in-display fingerprint sensors.  Although its slightly faster than last gen Galaxy A70, but its still slow when you speed-test against its Chinese counterparts. So, yes, I think Samsung needs to work on it a little bit. Another biometric option, the face unlock is fast and unlocks the phone before the fingerprint sensor does, all the time!

AUDIO

The single firing speaker is also good, not the flagship stereo speaker level, but I would rate it, like B+.  But one thing to note here is the sound gets blocked mostly when you play games and watch videos in landscape. So, I‘ve had to frequently adjust how I held the phone, which has been some trouble for me.

VERDICT

So, to sum it up, like I said in the beginning of this video, I’ve had a very good experience with the Galaxy A71. However, what makes for a good experience in my case, might not be the same for everyone else. For instance, phones like the Realme X2 Pro or the Oneplus 7 definitely have better performance when compared to the A71, so if your priority is gaming, you are better off with those options.

But, if you are looking for a smartphone, that does every bit for you, the A71 is one of the most viable choices available. And here in Nepal, since the Realme X2 Pro hasn’t launched yet, I think the Galaxy A71 is a very good choice for some 50,000 rupees.

Samsung Galaxy A50s

If you remember, the Galaxy A50s was initially launched for a high price, but now it goes for below 20K in India. One thing that differentiates it from the rest of the bunch is the design. At a time when all the Chinese brands are heavy and boxy, Samsung, on the other hand, is making their designs slimmer and more ergonomic with every new launch.

Anyway, coming back to the design of the A50s, you get this absolutely stunning looking phone. The glasstic back has these really cool looking patterns which make the phone look classy and stylish. Plus, the phone is very ergonomic and feels light on the hands which further adds to the niceties.

What’s also nice is the front of the A50s, it’s got a pleasing Super AMOLED display which is one of the best panels you can get for the price. Additionally, the AMOLED display complements the dark theme of the UI very well. So, if you are someone who likes the dark mode, you will love what you see on the A50s. Further, the display is home to an in-display fingerprint sensor.

The triple cameras on it have very good performance too which is all thanks to Samsung’s excellent optimization. The details, HDR, saturation all have a good balance in normal as well as the ultra-wide shots as evident from these samples here.

Samsung has also provided the One UI 2.0 based on Android 10 last month. But what I do need to tell you is that performance over here is just average. The dated 10 nm based Exynos 9611 does not quite match up to the contemporaries like Snapdragon 720G or 730G or the Helio G90T. For an average user though, it should still serve you well.

Samsung Galaxy A50s Specifications:

  • Body: 6.24 x 2.93 x 0.30 inches; 169 gm (5.96 oz)
  • Display: 6.4 inches Super AMOLED Infinity-U
  • Resolution: Full-HD+ (1080 x 2340 pixels), 19.5:9 ratio
  • Chipset: Exynos 9611, 10nm process
  • CPU: Octa-core (4×2.3 GHz Cortex-A73 & 4×1.7 GHz Cortex-A53)
  • GPU: Mali-G72 MP3
  • RAM: 4GB/6GB
  • Storage: 128GB UFS 2.1 (expandable up to 512GB)
  • Rear Camera: (48MP, f/2.0, 1/2″ Sony IMX 582 sensor) + (8MP, f/2.2 ultra-wide lens) + (5MP, f/2.2 depth sensor), LED Flash
  • Front Camera: Single – 32MP, f/2.0
  • OS & UI: Android Pie with Samsung One UI on top
  • Battery: Non-removable 4000 mAh; USB Type C
  • Colors: Prism Crush Black, Prism Crush White, Prism Crush Violet

Redmi Note 9 Pro max:

The Redmi Note 9 pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max are the two recent additions to Xiaomi’s lineup. And both are basically the same phone, except for some minor changes here and there. So, if you want to save some money, get the Pro version instead.

Also, maybe Xiaomi could have done some more differentiation with the specs between the two. For instance, they could have provided a Super AMOLED display or a higher refresh rate to make the Pro Max version stand out a little bit.

But even so, the Redmi Note 9 pro max is one of the good mid-range phones in today’s date. It offers some good things to the table like the latest Snapdragon 720G chipset which performs very well, a big 5020 mAh battery with 30-watt fast charging support, and a refreshing new look.

Similarly, Camera-wise, you get very good performance with the 64MP Samsung GW1 sensor that you get here. The details are on point and colors as well as dynamic range are very well preserved too. Overall, the Note 9 pro max is one worthy phone in this list!

Redmi Note 9 Pro Max Specifications:

  • Display: 6.67-inch IPS LCD screen with Gorilla Glass 5 Protection
  • Resolution: Full-HD+ resolution (2340×1080 pixels), 20:9 aspect ratio, 60Hz refresh rate
  • Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G; 8nm platform
  • CPU: Octa-core (2×2.3 GHz Kryo 465 Gold & 6×1.8 GHz Kryo 465 Silver)
  • GPU: Adreno 618
  • RAM: 6/8GB
  • Storage: 64GB/128GB (UFS2.1); Expandable up to 256GB via dedicated SD card slot
  • Rear Camera: Quad cameras, 64 MP, f/1.8 primary shooter; 8 MP, f/2.2 ultra-wide shooter, 5 MP, f/2.4 macro lens and 2 MP f/2.4 depth sensor
  • Front Camera: 32MP
  • OS & UI: Android 10, MIUI 11
  • Sensors: Fingerprint (side-mounted), Gyro, accelerometer, proximity, compass
  • Battery: 5020 mAh, USB Type-C port, 30W Fast charging
  • Color Options: Aurora Blue, Interstellar Black, Glacier Black

Samsung Galaxy M31:

If you are a Samsung fan and the Galaxy A50s or the newly launched Galaxy A51 is a little too expensive for your budget, the Galaxy M31 is a great alternative.

It is almost the same as the A50s minus the good looks plus a bigger battery. While you get a standard 4,000 mAh cell on the A50s, the M31 offers you a humongous 6,000 mAh one that can go on and on. However, note that it only has a 15- watt fast charging support so charging the phone can be a bit of a pain.

Additionally, the design of it is not very appealing either. You get a thick phone with a glossy polycarbonate back that looks rather outdated.

Keeping these things aside, you can be assured that you get a good camera setup in the M31. Well, Samsung never fails to make a mark with their cameras! There’s a quad-camera setup tucked inside a square module, all of which have impressive performance, except for the macro lens which is just average.

However, in regards to performance, you have the same old Samsung saga of average chipsets powering their phones. It is powered by the same Exynos 9611 that’s there on the M21, A50s, and countless other Galaxy devices.

Although I am not saying that its performance is bad, when compared to the likes of Helio G90T or the Snapdragon 720G, you are certainly getting a strictly average performance. On the brighter side though, you get the One UI 2.0 here which you guys know how much I prefer over others.

Samsung Galaxy M31 Specifications:

  • Body: 6.26 x 2.96 x 0.35 inches; 191 gm
  • Display: 6.4-inches Super AMOLED panel
  • Resolution: FHD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels); 19.5:9 aspect ratio
  • Chipset: Exynos 9611; 10nm Mobile Platform
  • CPU: Octa-core (4×2.3 GHz Cortex-A73 & 4×1.7 GHz Cortex-A53)
  • GPU: Mali-G72 MP3
  • RAM: 6GB
  • Storage: 64 / 128GB UFS 2.1 (expandable using SD card)
  • Software & UI: Samsung’s One UI 2.0 on top of Android 10
  • Rear Camera: Quad-camera; 64MP, f/1.7 primary shooter; 8MP, f/2.2 ultra-wide lens with 123º FOV; 5MP, f/2.2 depth sensor; 5MP, f/2.2 macro sensor;  Single LED flash
  • Front Camera: 32MP, f/2.0 lens
  • Security: Physical capacitative fingerprint scanner
  • Audio: 3.5mm headphone jack, Dolby Atmos
  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/AGPS/GLONASS/BDS, USB Type-C
  • Battery: 6000 mAh with 15W fast charging
  • Colors: Ocean Blue, Space Black, Red

Realme X2:

Realme has brought out a lot of good midrange phones since last year and one of the most notable ones has to be the Realme X2.

Powered by the Snapdragon 730G chipset, this phone gives you one of the best performances in this price range. And except for the Samsung phones, this is the only phone that offers an AMOLED display at this price, so that’s a major plus for it. Talking about the quality of the display, it’s excellent in terms of colors, contrast, and also has acceptable brightness levels. Also, having the AMOLED screen means you get the perks of an in-display fingerprint sensor, which is fast and accurate.

Furthermore, the design of the Realme X2 also looks good to me. Although I would say that I am inclined towards the A50s’ more ergonomic and lightweight design, this one has its own thing going and I am sure many prefer it too. Plus, the back is protected by the Gorilla Glass 5 which makes it more premium than plastic back phones.

The Quad- cameras on it have good performance too. Although the macro and depth sensors are more gimmicky than useful, the other two, the primary and the wide-angle lenses work well. And it’s worth pointing out that Realme X2 is one of the best points to shoot cameras out there for this price.

And one more thing that’s good about the X2 is that Realme has generously provided a 30- watt VOOC fast charging support that can fill the 4,000 mAh battery in around an hour.

Realme X2 Specifications & Price

  • Display: 6.4″ Super AMOLED display
  • Resolution:  1080 x 2340pixels
  • Rear Camera: Quad, 64 MP primary lens with f/1.7 aperture + 8 MP Ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.3 aperture + 2 MP dedicated macro with f/2.4 aperture + 2 MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture
  • Front Camera: 32 MP with f/2.0 aperture
  • Processor: Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 730
  • Software and UI: RealmeUI based on Android 10
  • GPU: Adreno 618
  • RAM: 6 GB and 8GB
  • Storage: 64/128GB
  • Battery: 4000 mAh, 30W Fast Charging
  • Sensors: Fingerprint (in-display), accelerometer, gyro, compass, proximity
  • Connectivity: Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot
  • Color Options: Pearl White, Pearl Blue, Pearl Green

Poco X2:

Okay, now we have reached almost to the end of our list, and choosing the first and second place has been a tough choice. However, there has to be a winner and evidently it is not the Poco X2. It has secured second place by just a thin line of difference.

Talking of the performance, the Poco X2 is also powered by the Snapdragon 730G chipset and you can expect it to perform as well as the Realme X2. Similarly, you get a glass design in here that looks quite good. Although the phone is hefty and slightly unergonomic, many people liked it so, it will be fair to say that it totally depends upon your preference.

Coming to the front, you are getting a good- quality IPS LCD screen with good colors and contrast levels. Yes, it’s not an AMOLED panel, but it has a 120Hz refresh rate that gives it an edge. So, when it comes to gaming, it will give you a little bit of extra smooth performance than the Realme X2, which is also one of the reasons why it is a step ahead than the Realme X2 on this list.

Furthermore, camera- wise, here you get a quad-camera setup like many others in this list. However, Poco uses a much superior Sony IMX 686 primary sensor that offers better details and HDR capability. However, color optimization looks better on the Realme X2. So, choosing one among them is actually a tough call.

In terms of battery- life, the 120Hz screen does devour the battery comparatively faster than the regular 60Hz. However, that is recovered by the big 4500mAh battery along with 27-watt fast charging support that fills its battery in about 70 minutes.

POCO X2 Specifications

  • Body: 6.51 x 3.02 x 0.35 inches; 208 gm; P2i coating
  • Display: 6.67-inches “RealityFlow” IPS LCD panel with HDR10 support; 386 PPI and up to 500 nits of brightness
  • Resolution: FHD+ (2400 x 1800 pixels); 20:9 aspect ratio
  • Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G; 8nm Mobile Platform
  • CPU: Octa-core (2x Gold @ 2.2GHz + 6x Silver @ 1.8GHz)
  • GPU: Adreno 618
  • RAM: 6 / 8GB LPDDR4X dual-channel memory
  • Storage: 64 / 128 / 256GB UFS 2.1 (expandable via a microSD card)
  • Software & UI: Android 10 with MIUI 11 on top
  • Rear Camera: Quad-camera; 64 MP f/1.89 Sony IMX686 sensor, PDAF support; 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide sensor with 120º FOV;  2MP f/2.4 macro lens; 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor, Dual LED flash
  • Front Camera: Dual-camera; 20MP f/2.2 primary sensor; 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor
  • Security: Side-mounted fingerprint scanner
  • Audio: 3.5mm headphone jack, Qualcomm Hi-Fi DAC support
  • Connectivity: Hybrid dual-SIM (Nano), microSD card, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/AGPS/GLONASS/Beidou, USB Type-C
  • Battery: 4500 mAh with 27W fast charging
  • Colors: Atlantis Blue, Matrix Purple, Phoenix Red

Realme 6 Pro:

Okay, finally we have reached the top of this list. As evident from our tests, he Realme 6 Pro offers the best value for money under 250 dollars. However, it is worth mentioning that the choice totally depends on the user as well.

If one feels more comfortable with the MIUI, then, one should definitely go for the Poco X2, otherwise Realme 6 Pro is an equally good option. But the reasons to give the 6 Pro the top spot is, number 1: It has a more versatile camera setup consisting of a telephoto zoom lens and number 2: The selfies here are much better than the Poco X2. Also, its dual notch comes with a more useful ultra-wide selfie camera, instead of the depth sensor.

The other specs of the Realme 6 Pro are pretty decent too. You get a good-quality IPS panel with a 90Hz refresh rate. The Snapdragon 720G here performs as well as what the Poco X2 offers. And Battery- wise you get a good-sized 4,300 mAh cell that gives excellent endurance which further is supported by the 30- watt VOOC charging!

Realme 6 Pro Specifications:

  • Display: 6.6-inch IPS LCD screen with Gorilla Glass 3 Protection
  • Resolution: Full-HD+ resolution (2340×1080 pixels), 20:9 aspect ratio, 90Hz refresh rate
  • Chipset: Snapdgragon 720G
  • CPU: Octa-core (2x 2.3Ghz Cortex-A76 + 6x 1.8Ghz Cortex-A55 )
  • GPU: Mali G76 MC4
  • RAM: 6GB/8GB LPDDR4X
  • Storage: 64GB/128GB; Expandable up to 256GB via dedicated SD card slot
  • Rear Camera: Quad cameras, 64 MP, f/1.8 primary shooter; 8 MP, f/2.3 ultra-wide shooter, 2 MP, f/2.4 macro lens and 12MP f/2.5 Telephoto lens
  • Front Camera: 16 MP, f/2.0 primary lens’ 8MP ultra-wide-lens
  • OS & UI: Android 10, Realme UI
  • Sensors: Fingerprint (side-mounted), Gyro, accelerometer, proximity, compass
  • Battery: 4300 mAh, USB Type-C port, 30W Fast charging
  • Color Options: Lightning Blue, Lightning Orange

Will Pi Coin be the next big thing in the world of cryptocurrency?

Money has continuously evolved and changed its form. Today, digital currencies are what suits the requirements of the digital world. Digital currencies focus on decentralizing the currency to make the privacy-oriented transactions. Cryptocurrency is a digital currency that can be used to transfer assets from person to person in a decentralized way. They are not regulated by any banks or any other central authorities. These coins are all digital and have no physical presence. Cryptocurrencies can be bought from exchanges and stored in wallets, exchange wallets, or hardware storage disk. They are also distributed across the whole network, so even if one part fails no data is lost. And interestingly, Pi coin is the first & only cryptocurrency that you can mine on your phone.

Pi Coin & Pi Network

Pi Network” is a smart platform that allows users to earn Pi cryptocurrency from any mobile device. Beta version of the app was launched in March 2019 by three individuals from Stanford. And two of them hold PhDs. They aim to create a secure, immutable, non-counterfeit and interoperable source of digital money. They are going to do this by using distributed ledger technology and making use of the stellar consensus protocol.

Download Pi Network App: Android | iOS

Pi Network is secured and operated by its community, i.e. its users and their joint engagement. Pi is mined through proof of consensus, which is basically where your phone communicates with a bunch of nodes, and the nodes collectively decide on what the solution to the next block is. Whereas in Bitcoin, the solution is already set and whoever gets it first gets the reward.

mine pie app

How to “mine” Pi Coin?

There are simple steps to connect to a Pi network and start mining the cryptocurrency – Pi Coin. First, you download their app and specify the registration method: Facebook or phone number. You will also be required to fill in an invitation code to join the network as it relies on secure circles. Each user receives one “Pi” per account upon registration. To mine, you just have to open the app and click on the ‘mine’ button every 24-hours to prove that you are a credible contributor to the network. The app doesn’t need to run in the background, so you can close it and open it after 24-hours and click on the button to mine. There is currently no way to invest in shares but more options will hopefully become available as the app gains more popularity. The mining for Pi Network is done a four-tier basis:

Pioneer

Someone who uses the mobile app to interact with the network daily. They do this by signing in to verify their identity and requesting transactions that can be sent or receive Pi over the Pi network. It is the entry-level rank for all users. Initially, it’s production size is 0.39 pi/h, which you can increase to 0.49 pi/h by participating in the referral program during registration.

Contributor

Someone who adds other people to their network within Pi. This information then goes together to create a shared trust graph. You need to mine cryptocurrency for three days to receive this rank.

Ambassador

Somebody who recruits other individuals to come over and join Pi network whether they are pioneers, contributors, or ambassadors. The ambassador and the referee will receive a 25% referral bonus for signing up to the network. This rank is for the users who invite other members to connect to the Pi Network.

Node

Someone who is physically running a node on a desktop or laptop and will maintain the distributed ledger. This is for members who have connected additional equipment to the network. It is still under development.

It is possible to be all four of these tiers of mining and receive contributions based on all four of them.

This app doesn’t drain your battery or use your RAM in the background. This is because it doesn’t rely on proof of work. Instead, it relies on the number of users you have in your secure circles. And the more your mining rate is, the more Pi coin you get. To withdraw coins (once that becomes an option), your device needs to be verified. And if you’re not from the US or Canada, this will entail sending a text to the UK or US number, which may subject to certain rates and restrictions in your jurisdiction. Creators have published the whitepaper of the project on their site which gives you some more detailed information on how it all works so you can examine for yourself if you want to give it a shot or not.

How is it different from other cryptocurrency?

Some of the key differences between Pi Network and other blockchains are the fact that rewards are paid out daily. They are not paid out per block, and they are also spread across the entire network so as long as you interact with the network, you will receive a payout at the end of the day. The white paper discusses the availability of free transactions depending on network congestion. Once the network becomes heavily congested, then miners will be able to sort through transactions based on a fee system with higher fees being dealt with first and everybody else having to wait based on the amount of fee they want to pay.

At present, there is no fixed supply and the total supply is unknown. Once the project officially launches, the total supply will be worked out. The tokens that people are earning right now are acting as a faucet and are a visual representation of tokens that will be created in the Genesis block when the main net launches.

Pi network is rapidly expanding and as of right now it has more than 800k engaged users. It could be the next big thing for all we know. It is free to join so no one stands anything to lose by downloading the app. But it is highly recommended to do your research before you decide to delve further. You can also find the Pi network on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter for more information.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro in Nepal: Best Midrange Phones of 2020?

Despite being more than 6 months old, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro is still one of the best midrange phones at its price range in Nepal. I think it still takes the crown of the best phone under a price of Rs. 30,000. Let’s learn more about the phone down below.

Redmi Note 8 Pro: Best Phone under 30K in Nepal?

Moving on, the other midrange phone to look out is the Redmi Note 8 Pro. It comes as a direct successor of the Note 7 Pro and is one of the most hyped Xiaomi devices in recent dates. Though the device will launch with the MIUI 10 in the beginning, users should expect the recently launched MIUI 11 as of reading this article.

The Redmi Note 8 Pro has a bigger 6.53-inch display as compared to the Note 8. It has a Full HD+ resolution and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. It too is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on both sides. And similar to the Note 8, it too has a waterdrop notch upfront.

One of the most exciting aspects of this device is that it is the first one to be powered by the MediaTek Helio G90T processor. It is a gaming-centric processor and should allow users to play graphic-intensive games on their devices. Furthermore, the device also comes with liquid cooling technology and Game Turbo 2.0 to complement its gaming capabilities.

Redmi Note 8 Pro Camera: Is it any good?

Talking about the camera, the Redmi Note 8 Pro has a quad-camera setup on the back. However, its primary lens is a 64MP ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor. Hence, you get better images as compared to the cheaper Redmi Note 8.

The cam setup is completed by an 8MP ultra-wide lens, a 2MP dedicated ultra-macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. As for the front camera, a powerful 20MP selfie shooter is housed inside the waterdrop notch.

And that’s not it. The cameras come with an array of features too. For instance, it supports 64MP HD, Ultra nightscape mode, Smart Ultra-Wide Angle to name a few. Furthermore, the front camera too supports features such as Panorama selfie, AI scene detection, Palm shutter and many more.

It too will be available in two RAM variants with the base variant being 6GB and the other of 8GB. The storage on board will be either 64GB or 128GB on the 6GB variant and 128GB for the 8GB variant. Furthermore, there is a dedicated microSD slot available for those who want to upgrade their internal storage.

Moreover, for its daily tasks, the device will rely on a huge 4,500mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging. And similar to the Redmi Note 8, the fast charger will be bundled along with the retail box.

The notable difference in the global variant and the China variant is that a dedicated microSD slot is available on the global one. Along with that, the minor changes include the difference in the dimension and the weight.

  • Display: 6.53″ IPS LCD display with Full HD+ resolution (1080 x 2340 pixels)

Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro Price in Nepal [Updated]

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro is still available in Nepal. The official price of Redmi Note 8 Pro for the base 6/64GB version in Nepal is Rs. 26,999. You can also get the 6/128GB variant for a price of Rs. 29,999 if higher storage is your priority. Similarly, the 8GB variant with 128GB storage costs Rs. 32,999.

As for value, I think you should buy the 6/128GB variant. For me, 64GB is not ample in 2020, and 8GB is just overkill.

The impact of COVID-19 on the smartphone industry!

It is absolutely heart-wrenching to see how the global coronavirus pandemic has taken the lives of many; on top of creating an unruly commotion throughout the world. Our thought goes out to everyone facing this tough time and we pray for the best. This is of the most well documented global catastrophes in human history – a sad record. And we hope you guys are following all the precautionary measures like wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining social distance, etc. to minimize the spread of the virus. People’s life is in a state of chaos due to COVID-19, and so is the economy (therefore the smartphone industry). Factories are shut down, productions have been halted, people have been left jobless – I mean, the whole world is in shambles.

Some countries like China and New Zealand have had some success in fighting off the virus; things are gradually returning to normal there. Yet, the pandemic is far from over in other parts of the planet.

COVID-19: Impact on the smartphone industry

Though essential businesses have been open because of the nature of their operation, others have had to close shop. Because of the state-mandated lockdown in many countries, the smartphone (or rather yet the electronics industry as a whole) has suffered some major setbacks.

We’re not only talking about production and sales here. The direction the industry had been heading towards before the whole ordeal has now completely changed its course. And sadly, it’s going to take years for OEMs, designers, and other affiliated parties to catch up to the point they once hoped to have reached.

But ultimately, it is the buyers who are going to face the unfair wrath of the industrial predicament.

Let’s start with the most fundamental analysis. China is the home to most companies’ manufacturing plants; due to its technological superiority and low cost of operation. However, the rigid dependence upon the country is slowly losing its dominance as companies have begun setting up factories in other countries like India and Bangladesh. Just last year, as a result of its ever-shrinking market share in China, Samsung abandoned all of its production plants in the country and is now investing in new territories.

A different route?

And now, COVID-19 has “crafted” and intriguing avenue in the smartphone industry. As the origin center of the epidemic, China had the first-hand experience in the now-global situation. With local & international companies ceasing manufacture left and right, the circumstance had painted a vivid image of how the industry would be crippled; should the magnitude of reliance stay constant.

COVID-19, Smartphone Industry Decline

I can even imagine the CEOs of such companies rushing to formulate an escape plan. After all, that is a logical move and very few people had even predicted that the pandemic would shape up to take the form that it has now. In short, the virus did give some ideas of expanding the production geography portfolio to many non-China based firms.

Anyway, coming to the present time, the whole “underestimation of China” things seems pointless now. Because of strict government regulations, China has managed to contain the virus to a great extent. And because of this, as I said earlier, things are returning to the way they were. Big names like Tesla have resumed operation and that’s only the tip of the iceberg. The second-best option – India, is still struggling to make a mark against the virus. That makes China, still the safest bet when it comes to smartphone manufacturers’ production needs.

Problems beyond production

But wait, just because production is possible, doesn’t mean everything’s alright now. The demand for smartphone components has dramatically surged with OEMs recognizing the eventual decline in consumers’ purchasing power and purchase decision. I’d once again like to bring up Samsung as an example, where the company has now decided to cut down its monthly smartphone manufacture volume by more than 50% (from 25 million to 10 million) according to some industry sources.

Foxconn (Hon Hai) - contract electronics maker

Let’s take a deeper look. There are also companies like Foxconn, who is a “contract electronics maker”. This Taiwan-based company is the manufacturer of Apple’s iPhones, components for companies like Dell, Sony, among others. And most of the time, the company has a schedule regarding what to take into production.

Only after the delivery of one client’s contract, can the process for the next client begin. Yet, due to COVID-19, the aforementioned contracts have been “void” – in some way. Foxconn has since resumed its operation amidst taking precautionary tactics to meet the demand of one of its largest clienteles – Apple.

Just like a domino!

The thing is, we all know when we can expect a new generation of iPhones and that is September of every year. With each iteration, the total unit demand has only grown throughout time. But this time, even Apple has had to push the mass production of the upcoming iPhone 12 series by a month because of production limitations.

Apple iPhone 12 renders (PhoneArena)

Therefore, the new iPhones will most likely hit the shelves in October this year. Apple is still kind of on track in its timetable. Because of this, some other firm will be off-schedule by some significant margin; most definitely. The entire smartphone industry is like domino as demonstrated by COVID-19; just a single misbehaving piece can have a crippling effect on everyone involved.

Now let us shift our gears to the second largest smartphone consumer in the world – India. Unlike its neighbor China, things are yet to take a positive turn here in terms of the COVID-19 pandemic. The country is in its second month of lockdown with no immediate end in sight. Here, companies like Samsung, OPPO, Vivo, and Xiaomi have closed their factories; thus drastically reducing the country’s contribution to global smartphone production.

A shift in the public purchase decision

India is also home to some of the most price-conscious consumers in the world. That’s why brands like Xiaomi, OnePlus, and more recently Realme have managed to do so well there. Though the country’s top e-commerce platforms like Amazon & Flipkart have received the government’s permission to resume selling smartphones from May 3, the current market is nowhere near as well functioning as it was a couple of months ago. Sadly, the purchasing decision of customers has now radically changed, with priority set for essential goods; rightfully so.

Amazon Flipkart resume smartphone delivery India

And that’s not specific to India. People throughout the world have shifted their spending concerns to goods of daily requirements like food, sanitation items, etc.

Bluntly put, nobody needs to or should be investing in a brand-new smartphone at this time, unless it’s an emergency.

I don’t believe this mindset of consumers will continue on in the long run, but it will be something hard to erase post haste. I mean, it’s most likely not the first time we are facing a crisis. Tragedies have always befallen us, though not on a global scale like right now. After all, we have in/directly contributed to the way things are, and we’ve made through the past misfortunes. Wow, did I just demonstrate an example of the “Butterfly Effect”? I think I did.

Further damage to the supply chain

I have already discussed how the manufacture of smartphones & other electronic goods have been hampered due to the pandemic. But what about those that were meant to be sold right now, had things not gone south? Well, they’re still in the godowns, the retail stores, sitting unattended and getting outdated & undervalued as days go on.

Despite the rapid incline in online smartphone sales in recent days, brick and mortar stores are still a big part of the industry. And the lack of movement of products only means trouble to the shop-owners and the buyers.

Apple Store (USA) COVID-19 smartphone industry

You see, any retail store’s most common business policy is to empty the current stock before bringing in the new lot. So, the retail smartphone stores will aggressively try to push the products they have, before ordering the newer models. While that means customers won’t have the option to select from the newest smartphones, you may get great deals on a generation old smartphone when they open up. And honestly, that doesn’t sound bad at all. While this is most definitely a lost battle to the retail businesses, I see it as an unwarranted middle ground from a consumer’s point of view.

R&D (Research & Development) takes a big hit!

But despite all the production delays, shift in buyers’ purchasing decision, or the inability to sell the existing products, you know where the COVID-19 has hurt the worst in the electronics & the smartphone industry? R&D. Companies spend billions of dollars in research & development each year, which is a continuous process of improving the firm’s quality of operation & commodity.

In terms of the smartphone market, it looks like the EUV-based 5nm wafer production is going to take a considerable hit. That’s because ASML is facing issues in transporting its equipment because of travel restrictions that many countries have imposed. Based in Netherland, ASML is the only manufacturer of EUV exposure equipment for semiconductor production.

TSMC Semiconductor Foundry production delays COVID-19 smartphone industry

There’s a two-way race going on between Samsung and TSMC for 5nm semiconductors. However, the latter is already many steps ahead of Samsung in the competition. TSMC has even filled its 5nm demand from companies like Apple, AMD, Qualcomm, etc. Recently, the company also announced that it has delayed plans for testing 3nm chips. But excitingly, it is already working on 2nm chips though they won’t be available until 2025. Samsung, on the other hand, has further pushed back the date of the mass production of its own 3nm semiconductors to 2022 because of production complications as a result of COVID-19.

Conclusion

So you see, the global outbreak of COVID-19 has had a significant impact on the electronics & its subsidiary smartphone industry. Manufacturers now have an uphill battle to recover from the losses incurred because of it. It will be a challenging task to get people to spend the way they used to. It goes on to show that only the most visionary and clairvoyant ones will survive such misfortunes. That’s because such an unexpected turn of events can lead to an unprecedented degree of divergence in the world.

Corsair Gaming Cases Price in Nepal [Updated 2020]

Corsair is a household name when it comes to gaming products and computer accessories. Started back in 1994, the high-performance DRAM manufacturer eventually moved on to high-quality gaming equipment. And at present, their target audience includes both e-sports athletes and enthusiasts as well as general gamers alike. Corsair officially landed in Nepal in 2019. Let’s take a look at the range of Corsair gaming cases available in Nepal, along with their specs and price.

Corsair Overview

Corsair is a brand that manufactures and sells gaming peripherals and hardware. They are pretty much on top of their field and have an ever-expanding lineup of products. Their portfolio includes mechanical keyboards, gaming mouse/mice, gaming headsets, and gaming chairs. On top of those, their selection of PC components is even more significant. For instance, they sell high-performance RAM, Power supplies, liquid coolers, FANs, storage all the way to custom coolers.

Also, in their lineup are Corsair’s pre-built PCs. Their range of Corsair One Compact PCs is the go-to pre-build gaming CPUs for most, especially for those who don’t want the hassle of assembling a PC themselves. These PCs are also pretty compact, just like the name suggests. But they also offer workstation-grade PCs.

And it doesn’t end there; they provide a component for every scenario. Need a premium individually sleeved peripheral cable? Yup…that, too. Safe to say, they offer a variety of computer accessories. And among all their product lineups, the most notable is their PC cases.

Besides, their Corsair iCUE‘ is a proprietary software to synchronize and control all compatible devices. It includes syncing RGB colors across all your Corsair devices, fan controls, voltages, temperature monitor, power management, and more. Pretty sweet, isn’t it?

Apart from physical hardware, they also invest in programs like “Student Brand Ambassadors,” streamer programs, and sponsor eSports teams. Also, they recently acquired Elgato, a hardware and software provider for content creators.

Corsair debuts in the Nepali market in 2019

Corsair Launch Event Nepal

Pine Overseas is the authorized distributor for Corsair products in Nepal. Rajesh Dugar, Managing Director at Pine, says, “We are happy to add CORSAIR to our strong brand portfolio. This association is testimony to our reputation as one of the leading and strong players in the IT hardware and accessories distribution market.

We are looking forward to working closely with CORSAIR, extend our resources and support to promote the best of breed products from CORSAIR to market.

At the event, they showcased a few products, most of which included cases, mouse, keyboards, headphones, and power supplies. Of course, there was a lot more to be seen than what they showcased at the event, for obvious reasons.

Corsair Gaming Cases

A gaming case is as important as any other component of a gaming computer. After all, it is the one that will house and protect all the elements that make up the system. Typically, you would want a metallic case as it withstands physical damage better and will turn out more durable. The next thing to consider is space – you need enough of it for better airflow and also for future upgrades. A gaming case should also be able to fit on your desk and have a look you desire.

Corsair has a wide-range of gaming cases to offer in Nepal in different price ranges. You can choose anything from the Mini-ATX case to mid-tower cases. Some cases just get the job done, while some can even put on a show with RGB lighting. Some are also bundled with Corsair’s VSU series PSUs.  Given below is the list of all Corsair gaming cases that are available in Nepal along with their specs and price.

Jobejee

A product of Suvidha Tech Pvt. Ltd, Jobejee is an emerging job portal in Nepal. With its user-friendly and intuitive interface, job seekers will have an easy time browsing for their dream job. Interestingly, you can see the jobs posted on the website itself or go through the ones posted in newspapers of the country through Jobejee’s website or app.

Here as well, a user is required to go through a one-time process of signing up to the site by uploading his/her credentials & a resumé. With that out of the way, you’re ready to apply for jobs. You can search for jobs under different criteria like company, industry, location, etc. Moreover, users can perform an advanced search with factors like expected salary, work experience, etc. to fine-tune the list of possible employers.

MeroCareer

Launched in 2010, MeroCareer is another well-known name in the Nepalese job portal arena. Managed by its parent company “J&T Associates”, you can find job-listings from some of the biggest financial institutes and other business houses. The website is pretty minimalistic and has a clean design. Users can scroll for jobs based on up to 3 variables: keyword, job category, and location.

MeroCareer - job portal in Nepal

Moreover, like every other job portals, you are required to signup before being eligible to apply for the desired job. However, the process is simplified here. Job seekers or employers can signup to the system using their existing LinkedIn account. Since LinkedIn is a professional “social media”, that’s quite ingenious, I’d say. After registration, the user can also follow multiple employers for updates on any future vacancies.

Growth Sellers

Another company that is a pioneer in the local HR industry is Growth Sellers. Having been in operation since 2008, the company has made quite the name for itself. Searching for on the website is fairly easy, and there are options to refine your desired result based on factors like expected salary, location, job type, education level, etc. Growth Sellers is a trusted HR consulting firm by many top brands like Chaudhary Group (CG), Dabur Nepal, MAW, DHL, etc.

Growth Sellers - job portal in Nepal

The home screen greets you with the most recent job postings on three categories: Premium, Standard, & Featured. And this all depends on how much an employer has invested in the advertisement itself. Besides bringing the employers & future employees together, Growth Sellers has other services too. This includes “Resume Writing” and “Career Counseling” for needy individuals Because professionalism is one of the most sought after quality in a potential employee, such features can be very useful in boosting one’s professional career.

CMS Job

Next up on the list is CMS Job. It is the sister company of Catalyst Management Services Nepal (CMS Nepal) and provides services beyond just recruitment & placement of job seekers. CMS Job also offers job training to prepare individuals for their professional career, HR consulting for business houses to help the companies maximize their employees’ productivity, etc. With all this, it has built a pretty respectable rapport with various big companies and the general public.

CMS Job - job portal in Nepal

Now let’s talk about the website itself. Its design is pretty much boilerplate like you’d expect from a job portal. The welcome screen shows the most recent job postings under different categories. Job seekers can search based on factors like career level, industry, or job title. But one minor area of improvement I see is that the options under “career level” are very limiting. And I hope the company introduces advanced search feature very soon. There is also a live-chat feature in case you have any confusion.

Jobs Dynamics

Another prominent name in the Nepalese HR industry is Jobs Dynamics. Though it is a recruitment & selection-first company, Jobs Dynamics’ portfolio of services is far beyond that. Like some other job portals we’ve mentioned throughout the list, it also indulges in individual development & organizational growth through training, consulting, and other method-driven activities. Moreover, the company frequently conducts workshops & webinars too.

Jobs Dynamics - job portal in Nepal

In terms of a job seeker’s perspective, it is pretty easy to search for a position on the platform. The home screen shows all the recent job postings from various companies. This includes featured jobs, internships, and listings that are going to expire pretty soon. However, the search feature is limited to a single category – salary. This could be a little troubling.

List of Job Portals in Nepal to Find and Apply for Job Vacancies (Bonus Picks)

The Job search portals mentioned above are quite renowned and are considered trustworthy. Some job seekers have also confessed these websites to be easy to find and apply for the job. However, the job vacancy and recruitment portals in Nepal are not confined to the ones mentioned above. There are numerous others with similar features and functionalities. Some of them are mentioned down below:
