Honor X7c Price in Nepal [Updated]

0

Honor dropped X60 series in the Chinese market. Elsewhere, the company dropped the new rendition of the X7 series which you can apparently wash with water and there will be no problems, whatsoever. And this guy is officially available in Nepal. Let’s take a deeper look at the Honor X7c along with its official price in Nepal.

Honor X7c Overview

Design and Display

Honor X7c has taken a step away from its predecessor in terms of design. Now it looks similar to its lower series member — for instance: Honor X6b. It ships in Forest Green, Midnight Black, and Moonlight White colors. The former has a vegan leather finish with a chequered pattern while the latter has a marble-like imprint on the back. Meanwhile, black is the basic option among the bunch.

Honor X7c Colours The company boasts highly about the resilience of this phone. It has cushioning architecture in place that apparently enhances its impact resistance. On top of that, it boasts 5-star Swiss SGS Premium Performance Certification for Drop and Crush resistance. Moreover, the Honor X7c is IP64-rated and survived a 3-minute washing test. Regardless, we suggest you don’t go all out “Gopi Bahu” and wash the thing with soap and detergent. 👀 For display, it has a 6.77-inch TFT LCD with HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. This phone can switch between a minimum of 2 to a maximum of 850 nits of brightness. It also offers a colour depth of 16.7 million.

Performance

The Honor X7c promotional material says the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor is present under the helm. However, the specs sheet mentions the Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 as its primary driver. Given that, it is likely that the phone is available in two silicon choices depending on the region. Comparatively speaking, the former ranks higher among the two (84 vs 114 — as of writing this article). Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 This phone is available in Nepal with a sole 8GB + 256GB trim. Users can virtually expand the memory on this thing with Honor RAM Turbo Technology. However, it is unclear whether there is storage expansion support or not. In the tank, it has a large 6,000 mAh battery with 35W charging support. Additionally, it appears the cell capacity differs according to the region as well. This is because the Azerbaijan site lists the phone has a 5,200 mAh battery instead.

Camera and the rest

The Honor X7c has a dual camera setup on the back consisting of a large 108MP primary shooter and a 2MP depth sensor. The latter serves almost no purpose, leaving you with a sole functional camera. Likewise, it has an 8MP snapper on the front for selfies and face recognition. Honor X7c Magic Capsule Software-wise, it boots on MagicOS 8.0 based on Android 14 and comes with nifty features, such as Magic Capsule and Quick Access with a three-finger swipe down. Lastly, it is a 4G-only phone with dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, and NFC support.

Xiaomi 15 review: A compact beast

If you look at the market right now, it is flooded with a ton of big phones, the “Ultras”, and the “Pro Maxs” and to get a good compact phone that ticks a lot of boxes is a daunting task.  I mean there are the S24, the iPhone 16, but those are merely downgraded versions of their flagship siblings, nothing exciting.

But this year, Xiaomi might be onto something with this guy because the Xiaomi 15 improves upon a lot of things over last year’s Xiaomi 14 that I complained about in my review, which revolves around 2 things mainly, the thermals and the battery life.

Xiaomi 15 Specifications

Xiaomi 15 Review

Battery and Charging

  • 5,400 mAh silicon carbon cell
  • 90W wired/50W wireless charging

Xiaomi 15 battery and charging

Starting with the battery, this time we get a large 5,400 mAh battery, which not only is larger than the 4,600 mAh on its predecessor, but also it’s a Silicon Carbon Battery, which means Xiaomi has been able to fit in a larger size in a smaller form factor.

This means, no 1. The dimensions of the Xiaomi 15 have barely increased than the Xiaomi 14 and No.2 the battery life has become much much better. Previously, I used to get around 5.5 hours of SOT from the Xiaomi 14 but with this one, I am easily getting around 6.5 to 7 hours, which is just great for a phone of this size.

The Xiaomi 15 charges quite fast too. With the 90 watt charger that’s included inside the box, the phone goes from 0-100% in exactly 43 minutes (0-20% in 5 minutes, 1-50% in 17 minutes, 1-100% in 43 minutes).

And as I mentioned, Xioami has also worked on the thermals this time around. Last year, with the Xiaomi 14, I would get such overheating messages while doing demanding tasks, but now, the Xiaomi 15 is able to handle the heat quite well.

Xiaomi says they have used a wing- shaped vapor chamber cooling solution that dissipates heat quite effectively hence maintaining the inner and surface temperatures and I can definitely see that on my gaming tests.

Performance

  • Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite (3nm)
  • Adreno 830

By the way, the Xiaomi 15 comes with this year’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset paired with a fast DDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage and at first I was expecting that all the 8 Elite power in a small body would not fare well, but I was wrong.

Even playing something as demanding as Genshin impact at the highest graphics for more than 30 minutes, the Xiaomi 15’s back temperature hovered around 40 degrees only.

These are great results because both the Realme GT 7 pro and the IQOO 13 that I recently reviewed would get slightly hotter!

Playing PUBG was an even more pleasant experience as I did not record more than 37 degrees temperature even after around 40 minutes, which is just great.

There is a catch though, the Xiaomi 15 does not allow more than 90 fps in PUBG, which I am guessing is to prevent the phone from overheating.

In any case, I know that being a compact phone, hard core gamers would not actually prefer something with a smaller form factor like this, but it’s great that Xiaomi has not held back with the specs and you have the option to game on this device as well.

And yes, I also did a 30 minute 4k video recording test to check if the phone shows any overheating signs, but no, the temperatures were well within reason. Fantastic!

Design

  • Glass front
  • Aluminum alloy frame
  • IP68

Moving on, one of my other favorite things about the Xiaomi 15 is this glass- aluminum sandwich design. I am a small person with small hands and this phone fits in my hands like a glove. It’s not too compact, but it’s not huge either, so it’s a perfect size for me that fits in my pocket and does not take up much space in my side- bag too.

Thankfully Xiaomi has a matte, anti- reflective back this time which has saved me the hassle of wiping the back panel clean every time I touch the phone. Trust me, that was a huge issue with the Xiaomi 14.

The only thing I would complain about with this design is that it’s a bit slippery, so it has slided down a couple of times from my hands.

Xiaomi has used their own shatter proof glass protection on the back as well as the front, but something like Gorilla glass Victus 2 would have been more re- assuring and robust in my opinion.

By the way, here you don’t get the latest gen IP69 rating, rather Xiaomi has chosen to go with an older IP68. I am not complaining though, IP68 is good enough dust/ water protection.

Display

  • 6.36″ LTPO OLED, 1B colors, 120Hz
  • 1200 x 2670 pixels, 20:9 ratio
  • Dolby Vision, HDR10+, 3200 nits (peak)

Over on the front, the first thing I noticed is how similar it looks to the Galaxy S24, the punch hole, the bezels, the resemblance is uncanny. The Xiaomi 15 is a little bigger in size though at 6.36 inches vs 6.2 inches on the S24.

And i must tell you, this is a great quality screen, Xioami has made it brighter this time (3000 nits on the xiaomi 14 vs 3200 peak on 15) and it’s got everything you would want from a flagship screen – a 1.5k resolution, LTPO 120 Hz refresh rate, a snappy 300 Hz touch sampling rate, Dolby vision and HDR 10+ certification on YT as well as streaming platforms, everything.

I have been using this phone for the better part of a week now and I have been so happy with the display quality and touch response. HDR playback works really well here.

And this time, we also get an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor instead of an optical one, which means they don’t flash light while unlocking and they unlock with wet or sweaty hands as well.

Speakers and Haptics

Xiaomi has also managed to make the speakers a little better this time. It’s loud and sounds quite balanced. The depth, the clarity, it’s right up there with the S24 and the iPhone 16.

The haptics on the other hand is nice too, but I found it to be a little less impactful than the iPhone 16 while ringing, but when you type, the vibration feels great!

Software and OS

  • Android 15
  • HyperOS 2.0

Xiaomi has worked on the software side of things as well. First of all, it has Android 15 out of the box with Xiaomi’s latest HyperOS 2.0. I am not a huge fan of Xaomi’s skin, but if you are someone who prefers it, you will be happy to know that it’s quite optimized and there are a couple of cool AI features. My personal favorite is this dynamic wallpaper that turns static images into videos for wallpapers and there are all the other AI speech recognition and all too.

Plus, you get 4 years of OS and 5 years of security updates with this phone, so up to Android 19  guaranteed. That paired with the powerful SD 8 Elite means the Xiaomi 15 will have a considerably long life.

Camera

  • 50 MP, f/1.6, 23mm (wide)
  • 50 MP, f/2.0, 60mm (telephoto)
  • 50 MP, f/2.2, 14mm,

Xiaomi 15 Camera

Moving on, I know all of you are excited about the camera aspect of this phone, but, disclaimer, if you were expecting huge improvements from last year, you will be slightly disappointed. First of all, I appreciate that Xiaomi has fixed the lens fogging issue that was there on the Xiaomi 14.

But in solving that, there is a different problem that has come forth, glares. During daytime, it;’s not as apparent but during the night, 70% of my samples have been ruined. To be fair the glare is there on the iPhone 16 too, but it’s not as excessive.

Anyway, during day time, the primary camera here produces nice colors and there are good details to look for too. For colors, you get two options in the settings – Leica Natural and Leica Vibrant. The Natural mode is a little too flat for my taste, so I mostly took pictures in the vibrant mode.

And I love the punchy and contrasty color output I got from the Xiaomi 15. The good thing is that it handles dynamic range really well, in fact better than the iPhone 16. There have been some instances when the Xiaomi 15 has messed up the exposure a little, but 95% of the time it will give you fairly good results.

The only ick I have with the Xiaomi 15’s primary camera is that I didn’t find that big of an improvement here from the Xiaomi 14. It’s a great camera, I was just expecting a little more considering the Xiaomi 14 Ultra was such an amazing camera phone.

The 60mm Telephoto lens is my personal favorite, it can click some nice macros and portraits. I have to tell you, with the Leica optimization, the skin tone and colors in portraits are not the most natural, but they look appealing nonetheless.

If you want a more natural output, I would suggest you check out the iPhone 16, but I kind of like the colors and the 60mm equivalent field of view here. And of course, you get a ton of Leica filters for a more pleasing look. The B/W filter is my favorite!

The selfies are nice too, they have a bit more contrast, but the skin tone is not over-processed or smoothened, it’s just the right amount.

The ultra wide images, however, are quite average if i am being honest. I suspect they have used the same sensor as before and although the details are better than the iPhone 16, there is a lot of color shift from the primary to ultra wide images and you also get a slightly poor dynamic range than the primary camera.

Finally, the videography side of things is also one of the aspects that didn’t receive much updates. You still cannot switch lenses while shooting in 4k 60 fps and still the videos miss out on a smooth output, and by smooth, I mean iPhone level smoothness is missing.

Normally its primary and ultra wide videos come out good enough, so if you are a casual user, it should not be a problem. Plus Xiaomi provides options to shoot in log format too and its tele-macro videos are also quite pleasing.

Even from the front camera you can shoot at 4k 60 fps and surprisingly the output is not bad. It’s not as smooth as the iPhone 16 again, but it is able to handle exposure and highlights better.

Xiaomi 15 Review: Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Great battery life
  • Fast charging
  • Compact design
  • Solid performance

Cons:

  • Camera glare issue
  • Slippery design
  • Average ultra-wide
  • No significant camera upgrade

Xiaomi 15 Review Conclusion:

Alright with this, I think I have covered most parts of my experience with the Xiaomi 15 and I can’t tell you how happy it makes me to see compact phones being such all round packages. The Xiaomi 15 has everything you would expect from a good phone, a nice display, handy, comfortable design, good battery life, fast charging, reliable performance, everything.

My only gripe with this phone is, I was expecting the cameras to be better, they are good, but I think I just had higher expectations. And considering all that the xiaomi 15 offers, it definitely deserves to be called the best compact flagship phone right now.

Apple is developing a home doorbell with Face ID!

0

Imagine simply glancing at the camera and having the door open for you, no keys, no fingerprint, just your face doing the magic. Well, Apple is stepping into the smart home scene with something like this with smart doorbell that uses Face ID to unlock your door.

Apple’s Smart Doorbell overview

According to reports, Apple is working on a smart doorbell that will use Face ID, just like the one on your iPhone, to unlock your door. Talk about an Apple a day keeping the locksmith away hahahha!

The key to this new gadget lies in Apple’s upcoming Proxima chip, which is being developed to power its wireless networking. By using this chip, Apple can continue its commitment to on-device processing, ensuring that your biometric data (like your face) never leaves your device. In addition to the Proxima chip, the doorbell will also integrate with Apple’s Social Enclave SoC (system on a chip), which will securely store your biometric data, with backups safely tucked away in iCloud.

Compatibility and Smart Home integration

The smart doorbell will work with a variety of third-party smart locks that support Apple’s HomeKit protocol, so it’s not all about Apple’s ecosystem. However, this device is still in its early stages, so we’ll have to wait a little longer before we know exactly how it will integrate with other smart home gadgets.

smart doorbell tech

Speaking of smart home gadgets, Apple isn’t just stopping at the doorbell. Much like Google’s Nest Hub and Amazon’s Echo Hub, Apple is planning to roll out its own smart home hub.

Wait, there’s more! Apple is also expected to unveil updated versions of its Apple TV and HomePod Mini next year, completing the circle of a truly smart home ecosystem.

A sneak peek into the future

While it’s still in the early stages of development, the buzz is that we could see this innovation as soon as 2025. So, keep an eye out for this technology as it matures. If Apple gets it right, this might just be the doorbell of tomorrow where unlocking your door is as easy as smiling at it.

Antimatter propulsion is the new big thing for interstellar travel

0

Warp drives and hyperspace jumps have long been staples of science fiction, but recent research explores how antimatter propulsion might bring us closer to interstellar travel. A new study by researchers from the United Arab Emirates University has shown the potential of antimatter as a fuel source capable of propelling spacecraft across vast distances. This article will discuss everything about the findings on antimatter propulsion.

Antimatter Propulsion: Overview

Energy Potential of Antimatter

Antimatter, specifically antihydrogen, is described as one of the most potent energy sources. According to the study, a single gram of antihydrogen could generate energy equivalent to powering 23 space shuttles. Researchers emphasize the scale of this energy, noting that kilogram-for-kilogram, it’s 10 billion times more potent than the hydrogen-oxygen combustion used in space shuttles. Additionally, it is 300 times more powerful than fusion reactions occurring at the Sun’s core.

ANTIMATTER propulsion

This immense energy capacity translates to unprecedented propulsion speeds. The researchers estimate that antimatter engines could achieve a specific impulse of 20 million meters per second. This would allow spacecraft to traverse the solar system in days or weeks and even journey to nearby stars within a human lifetime.

Antimatter Propulsion Concepts

The study also explores several propulsion mechanisms powered by antimatter. These include:

  • Solid Core Engines: Offering over 80% efficiency.
  • Gas Core Engines: Operating with 60% efficiency.
  • Plasma Core and Beam Core Designs: Promising even higher thrust levels and propulsion capabilities.

These concepts are still theoretical but highlight how antimatter’s properties could revolutionize spacecraft propulsion.

The Ideal Antimatter Spacecraft

  1. Best Annihilation Process: Selecting the right antimatter for efficient energy release.
  2. Ideal Storage Mechanism: Developing systems capable of safely containing antimatter for extended periods.
  3. Recommended Propulsion System: Choosing the most suitable propulsion type for specific missions.

Challenges

Antimatter does sound exciting, but it comes with some serious challenges. Right now, facilities like CERN can only produce about 10 nanograms a year, with costs running into millions per gram. Scaling up to fuel a spacecraft would need massive leaps in tech and funding.

Then there’s the tricky issue of storage. Antimatter annihilates when it touches normal matter, so it needs ultra-advanced containment systems using electromagnetic fields. The best we’ve managed is keeping it stable for just 16 minutes. Figuring out how to store it for the long haul is still challenging.

Which keyboard is best for you?

Mechanical Keyboards

Before jumping into our list of best mechanical keyboards in Nepal, let’s first understand what a mechanical keyboard is. Compared to your typical membrane keyboard with a single sheet of pressure-sensitive rubber/silicone, the mechanical ones have distinct spring-loaded physical switches. They are relatively louder, have a better typing feel, and are usually more expensive than membrane keyboards.

On the other hand, mechanical keyboards are available in a variety of shapes and sizes. Some have all of the keys, some don’t have the Numpad, and some have extra keys for utility. And their naming conventions can be quite perplexing, especially if you’re just getting into the world of mechanical keyboards. So before we continue, here is a table that summarizes some of the most common keyboard sizes.

Keyboard Size   No. of Keys   Number Pad Home Cluster  Function Row Arrow Keys  Top Number Keys    Alphabets
Full-Sized (100%) 104                 ✔
TKL
(80%)
87
75% 80-84
65% 66-69
60% 58-65

Best Premium Mechanical Keyboards in Nepal

High-end mechanical keyboards are usually directed toward gamers who want to excel in their craft. Besides that, a niche hobby that revolves around building custom keyboards also exists. However, these keyboards are not readily available in Nepal. Thus, we are limited to top-of-the-line options.

Corsair K95 Platinum

The Corsair K95 Platinum is one of the best premium mechanical gaming keyboards available in the Nepali market. The 1.1mm pre-travel on the Cherry MX Speed switches makes the keyboard extremely responsive.

As expected, this full-sized keyboard covers a big footprint. And it comes with 6 dedicated macro keys, a USB passthrough, media buttons, and a scroll wheel. Also, the included plush wrist rest further improves the ergonomics.

Decked in RGB, it boasts fully customizable per-key RGB lighting and under-glow light strips. Likewise, their iCUE companion software is one of the best in the industry for customization.

Corsair K95 Platinum best mechanical keyboards in Nepal

Like many gaming keyboards, the K95 Platinum lacks wireless connectivity. But the super-low 1.8ms latency is all you require for hardcore competitive gaming action.

Gaming aside, the keyboard will perform just as well if you have to crunch numbers in your line of work. However, some people might find the Cherry MX Speed too sensitive. There is no need to fret though as the keyboard is also available with Cherry MX Brown switches.

The only downside of the Corsair K95 Platinum is the ABS keycaps which feel a little cheap.

Corsair K95 Platinum Key Features:
  • 100% Form Factor
  • Aluminum alloy case
  • Included Wrist rest
  • Wired Connection
  • USB Passthrough + 3.5mm jack
  • Razer Switches
  • RGB Backlight
  • Dedicated macro keys, media keys, and volume wheel
  • Price in Nepal: Rs. 36,400
Razer Huntsman Mini

If full-sized keyboards are not your thing, then you can consider the Razer Huntsman Mini instead. This 60% keyboard features optical switches and PBT keycaps which  Likare a step up from ABS ones present on most gaming keyboards. It also has per-key RGB and customization options through the Synapse 3 software.

Razer Huntsman Mini best mechanical keyboards in Nepal

Being a 60% keyboard, it lacks a lot of dedicated keys but offers a minimal look and massive space for mouse movement. However, MMO gamers might find the lack of dedicated macro keys a hassle. While it has a detachable USB-C connection, it lacks a USB passthrough. It also lacks a wrist rest.

Razer Huntsman Mini Key Features:
  • 60% Form Factor
  • Doubleshot PBT Keycaps
  • Wired Connection
  • Razer Switches
  • RGB Backlight
  • Price in Nepal: Rs. 30,000
Akko 5075b Dragon Ball Mechanical Keyboard

The Akko 5075b Dragon Ball Super Goku Limited Edition Mechanical Keyboard is designed with a gasket mount structure, offering stability during use. It provides multiple connectivity options, including Bluetooth 5.0, 2.4GHz, and USB Type-C, ensuring compatibility with various devices. The keyboard features south-facing RGB backlighting, enhancing visibility in low-light conditions. Additionally, it supports hot-swappable switches with 3-pin and 5-pin support, allowing users to customize their typing experience.

The keyboard comes with Akko Macro V1.0 for macro functionalities and utilizes Akko Double-shot TPU Plate Mount Stabilizers for larger key structures. It is equipped with Akko CS Crystal switches, known for their durability and tactile feedback. The materials used include PBT keycaps for durability and an ABS frame for structural support.

Legends printing is achieved through dye-sublimation, ensuring the longevity and clarity of key legends. The keycap profile follows the JDA standard, providing a comfortable typing experience across various systems, including Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android.

Best Budget Keyboard in Nepal

Redragon K552 KUMARA

The Redragon K552 KUMARA is a mechanical keyboard with custom switches equivalent to Cherry Blue. It has RGB LED backlighting with multiple brightness levels and lighting modes. The keycaps are double-shot injected molded. All 87 keys have n-Key rollover anti-ghosting.

Redragon K552 KUMARA

The keyboard has a compact 87-key layout with 12 multimedia keys. The design is ergonomic with adjustable rear feet. It is made of metal alloy and ABS plastic. The keys are plate-mounted mechanical switches. The keyboard has a space-saving design.

The Redragon K552 KUMARA is one of the highest-selling keyboards on Daraz and regarded as the best beginner keyboard for gamers.

Redragon K552 KUMARA features
  • Type: Gaming Keyboard
  • Switches: Custom Mechanical (Cherry Blue equivalent)
  • Backlighting: RGB LED with 5 modes, 5 brightness levels
  • Anti-Ghosting: All 87 keys, n-Key Rollover
  • Design: Compact, metal alloy and ABS construction
  • Features: 12 multimedia keys, adjustable rear feet, splash-proof
  • Connectivity: High-speed USB with gold-plated connector
  • Price: NPR 4,499
Redragon K568

The Redragon K568 is undoubtedly one of the very best mechanical keyboard you can get by spending the least money. It is quite a durable one as it features a metal top and ABS plastic bottom. But here’s the best part, it’s even waterproof. So no need to worry about spilling Mountain Dew on the board during those intense gaming hours!

Redragon K568

On the other hand, its RGB lighting is not as versatile as only 9 modes are available. But for the price, it’s nothing to complain about. Unfortunately, the keyboard is only available with clicky blue switches. So, if you want something quieter, you’re gonna have to look elsewhere.

Moreover, its cable is not detachable either. Finally, let’s address the elephant in the room: latency. Budget keyboards usually tend to have mediocre input latency, and the K568 is no different. While it poses no obstruction for casual gaming, consider spending on a more expensive unit if you play competitive games requiring faster reaction time.

Redragon K568 Key Features:
  • TKL Form-factor
  • RGB Backlighting
  • Water-proof design
  • Blue Switches
  • Price in Nepal: Rs. 4,199

Best Keyboard Under Rs. 7,000 in Nepal

Redragon Demios K599

If you want a compact mechanical keyboard for gaming but don’t want to give up on arrow keys, the Redragon Demios K599 is the perfect option for you. It is a compact TKL keyboard, almost the size of a 60% keyboard.

It has a detachable USB-C cable and can be used wirelessly via a 2.4GHz connection as well. Redragon says its built-in battery lasts 60 hours without the LED backlighting off and around 20 hours with the LED on.

Redragon Demios K599

While we are on the topic of LED, the RGB backlighting on the Demios is one of the weakest on any Redragon keyboard. While it is fully customizable, it does not get quite as bright. On the contrary, the stabilizers on the board are one of the best Redragon offers.

There is not much to pick from as the Demios K599 is only available in black colorway and linear red switches. However, despite these drawbacks, it is the best keyboard available for under Rs. 6,000 in Nepal thanks to the fantastic typing experience and an uncompromised compact layout.

For the keyboard modders, it is hot-swappable but it only supports 3-pin switches.
If you want brighter RGB and color/switch options but can do with the lack of arrow keys, then the Redragon Draconic K530 is just around the corner.

Redragon Demios K599 Key Features:
  • Compact TKL Form-factor
  • RGB Backlighting
  • Wired Type-C + 2.4GHz Wireless Connection
  • 3-pin Hot Swappable Switches
  • Red Switches
  • Price in Nepal: Rs. 6,499
Fantech Maxfit61

Fantech Maxfit61 is a compact 60% keyboard with excellent RGB and detachable Type-C connection. However, unlike the Redragon Demios K599 above, this one does not support a wireless connection.

Fantech MaxFit61

The main selling point of this keyboard is the pre-lubed stabilizers and full hot-swappable compatibility with 3-pin and 5-pin switches. It also has pre-installed case foam that dampens the sound for a more pleasing typing experience.

Pick this keyboard over the Redragon Demios if you prefer better RGB and better typing experience over the ease of wireless connectivity.

Fantech MaxFit61 Key Features:
  • 60% Form-factor (61 Keys)
  • RGB Backlighting
  • Detachable Type-C Cable
  • Hot Swappable Switches
  • Blue or Red Switch (Outemu)
  • Price in Nepal: Rs. 6,200 (Blue)

Best Keyboard Under Rs. 15,000 in Nepal

Going over the 6k budget constraint opens you to a wider variety of mechanical keyboards. There are no more tacky fonts on the keycaps screaming “GAMER”, no more compromises, more colors, more everything.

Picking up a Keychron keyboard at this price bracket is the safest bet for most people. They look minimal and feature Gateron switches which are preferable for casual users. Brands like Logitech and Corsair also have quite a few offerings for gamers.

Remember, we’re only talking about keyboards that are currently available in Nepal. On a global scale, the selection of good keyboards in this price range is enormous. With that out of the way, let’s look at our three picks.

Fantech Maxfit67

It might come as a surprise, but the Fantech Maxfit67 is the best mechanical keyboard for the price in Nepal right now. The board punches above its weight class and its 65% layout with the knob on the top-right looks stunning. More so, the keycaps are made of PBT, meaning they are thicker and more durable. Fantech also provides extra accent keycaps and some Mac keys.

Fantech MaxFit67

Altogether, there are three connection modes available here: wired (Type-C), wireless (Bluetooth and 2.4GHz)

Despite the body being all plastic, it feels incredibly sturdy. The custom POM+PA12 stabilizers do not rattle. And the pre-installed plate and tray foam eliminate loud resonance and pings. All in all, the typing experience on the MaxFit67 outshines any other keyboard on this list.

Moving on, it has two switch options: Kailh Box White (Clicky) and Pre-Lubed Gateron Milky Yellow Switches (Linear). Likewise, the built-in 4,000mAh battery is rated for 70 hours of usage with RGB on and 240 hours with the RGB turned off.

Other distinguishing features of this keyboard include South Facing PCB, which allows you to use any keycaps without interference. Thus, the Fantech MaxFit67 leaves no room for complaints. Although, their companion app could be better.

Fantech MaxFit67 Key Features:
  • 65% Form Factor
  • South Facing PCB
  • Rotary Encoder Knob
  • Wireless (Bluetooth + 2.4GHz) & Wired
  • Gateron Hotswap Sockets (5 pin switches compatible)
  • Kailh Box White / Pre-Lubed Gateron Milky Yellow Switches
  • DYE-SUB PBT Keycaps
  • Includes plate foam & tray foam
  • Price in Nepal: Rs. 12,899 (Black)
Logitech G413

The Logitech G413 is a full-sized mechanical keyboard built for gamers. It comes with tactile Romer-G switches, which are light and responsive.

Furthermore, its sub 2ms latency makes it an excellent choice for competitive gamers. So if gaming is your top priority, look no further. Despite being a gaming keyboard, the well-rounded typing experience suits it even for office usage too.

Logitech G413

Similarly, its frame is made up of brushed aluminum, while its full-sized form factor means it takes up a lot of desk space. This keyboard even features a USB passthrough which can be used to plug USB devices into. But there’s bad news for the RGB fanatics out there since the board only lights up red.

Furthermore, it does not have a detachable cable or wireless connectivity. Another drawback is that the macros are only available on the function keys.

Logitech G413 Key Features:
  • 100% Form Factor
  • Aluminum alloy case
  • Wired Connection
  • USB Passthrough
  • Romer-G tactile mechanical switches
  • Red Backlight
  • Extra gaming keycaps
  • Price in Nepal: Rs. 12,000
Keychron K8

For our third pick, we have the Keychron K8, which is a wireless TKL keyboard with an aluminum frame. It comes with Gateron switches, and you have the option to pick from red, blue or brown variants.

The two connection modes (wired and Bluetooth) make the keyboard quite versatile, but it doesn’t support a 2.4GHz connection. Nonetheless, the K8 will fair well in gaming as well as office usage and programming.

Keychron K8

The RGB on the board is decent as well. But the lack of programmable macro keys and companion software holds the Keychron K8 back. Moreover, it is also available in a hot-swappable version which retails for Rs. 15,500.

Keychron K8 Key Features:
  • TKL Form Factor
  • Aluminum alloy case
  • Wired Type-C + Wireless Bluetooth Connection
  • Gateron switches
  • RGB Backlight
  • Extra Mac keycaps
  • Price in Nepal: Rs. 12,500
