Matter launches India’s first geared electric bike with liquid-cooled battery pack

Matter, a 2019 tech startup from India, has launched the country’s first geared electric bike. It will be available in several variants, with a claimed range of 125-150 km on a single charge. More on the Matter electric bike in this article.

Matter Electric Bike Overview:

Design

To begin, the Matter e-bike has a sporty design with sharp creases and curves all around the body. Adding to the look are LED turn indicators mounted on the front of the tank and a 3D design of the headlamp. Since there is no need for a fuel tank, it also has a 5-liter storage capacity. The container comes with built-in lighting and a smart mobile charging port.

Matter Electric Bike Design

Moreover, the bike has a 7-inch touchscreen for controls, which runs on Android. The display details riding modes, navigation, media controls, incoming calls, and such. You can also connect it to a mobile app that lets you control remote lock/unlock, geofencing, live location tracking, and vehicle health monitoring.

Performance

Powering this e-bike is a 10.5kW electric motor that is paired with a four-speed Hypershift manual gearbox (first in India) to provide the rider with full control. It has liquid cooling technology that works even when the bike is moving to effectively cool down the motor.

Matter Electric Bike Motor

Similarly, the vehicle gets disc brakes with ABS on both front and rear, and a dual cradle frame, to improve the bike’s handling dynamics. Matter says the bike has been tested in a wide range of climatic conditions with an operating ambient temperature of -10 degrees to 55 degrees (C).

Battery

This thing is fueled by a 5kWh battery that offers a riding distance of 125km to 150km. There’s also liquid protection on the cell that works in conjunction with Battery Management System (BMS) to optimize the system for efficiency, security, and reliability.

It works with both a standard 1kW charger and a fast charger. The latter charges the vehicle in about 5 hours. For your peace of mind, Matter has also included overcharge protection on the bike. In addition, the battery meets safety standards such as AIS 041 and IP65 water resistance.

Matter Electric Bike Price and Availability

Matter hasn’t said anything about the price or availability of this e-bike as of yet. But we expect more information from the brand in the coming months. For the time being, you can register your interest in the vehicle on its official site.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 FE to launch with MediaTek chip, LCD screen

0

Samsung announced the latest Tab S8 series with the flagship specifications back in February. The company is now planning to add a more affordable tablet to the lineup. In this article, we will be discussing every leak and rumor surrounding the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 FE.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 FE Rumors Roundup:

Geekbench Listing

Although Samsung looks to have shelved plans for S22 FE, the Tab S8 FE is still in the pipeline. The tablet was first spotted on the Geekbench listing last month with the model number SM-X506B. According to the listing, Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 FE will be powered by MediaTek’s Kompanio 900T SoC. The chip was launched towards the end of 2021 and is specifically designed for tablets and Chromebooks.

Coming to the nitty-gritty of Kompanio 900T, it is based on a 6nm process and brings 2x Cortex-A78 performance cores and 6x Cortex-A55 efficiency cores. This is paired with Mali-G68 GPU, which handles all the graphical processing. All in all, the chip is quite similar to the Dimensity 900 that we see in smartphones.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 FE Geekbench Scores

Still no AMOLED display

The base variant of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 FE will ship with 4GB of RAM. Samsung will offer the tablet in both Wi-Fi-only (SM-X500) and Wi-Fi + 5G variants (SM-X506B). It will be among the first tablet to ship with One UI 5 based on the new Android 13.

Like its predecessor, Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 FE will still come with an LCD panel. It will also retain the Wacom digitizer, confirming the native stylus support.

The rest of the details are scarce, but we can always look at the Tab S7 FE with reference. It featured a standard 60Hz LCD screen, so Samsung could still improve on the refresh rate. That aside, the tablet packed a 10,900mAh battery with 45W fast charging and was available with up to 8GB of RAM.

Samsung partners with Google and AMD for its next-gen mobile chip

0

Samsung has long been involved in the semiconductor business. Nonetheless, the company’s Exynos chip has not been able to democratize the market in the same way that MediaTek and Qualcomm have. In fact, Samsung is most likely going all-in on Snapdragon for the Galaxy S23 series. But it appears that the company has better plans for the future, as a new report suggests it is partnering with Google and AMD to develop a new mobile chipset. More about it here.

Samsung partners with Google and AMD:

As per the tipster Connor, Samsung is already working on this new SoC with Google’s Tensor and AMD’s graphics team. As a result, AMD is likely to bring its expertise to make better GPUs, while Google will provide assistance in better utilizing artificial intelligence.

The silicon is said to have a 2+4+4 architecture and will include two “high-performance” Cortex-X cores, four “performance” cores, and four “energy-efficient” cores. That means it will have a deca-core CPU rather than the octa-core common in today’s smartphones.

For starters, Google and Samsung have been working together to manufacture Tensor chips for Pixel smartphones. These are Exynos SoCs with custom AI features added on top.

According to reports, the third-generation Tensor chip, which is expected to debut on the Pixel 8 series, is already in the works. It is known as “Ripcurrent” and has the model number S5P9865. This apparently has nothing to do with the chip sketched on Connor’s tweet.

Availability

As of now, it is unknown when or if Samsung will announce this new SoC. However, it is expected to power future Galaxy S-series smartphones, most likely from 2025. That means it could be produced using a more advanced 3nm process, as Samsung has already begun working on 3nm chips.

Realme 10 Pro 5G official with Snapdragon 695 5G, 108MP camera

2

Realme announced two new smartphones today. We have already discussed the Realme 9 Pro+ in a previous article, and here we will talk about its vanilla sibling. So, let’s get into the specifications, features, expected price, and availability of Realme 10 Pro 5G in Nepal.

Realme 10 Pro 5G Overview:

Design and Display

Realme 10 Pro 5G is built around a 6.7-inch FHD+ display with a center-aligned punch-hole cutout. It retains the 120Hz refresh rate of its Pro+ sibling but misses out on the vibrant color of an AMOLED panel. The LCD panel is flat and has noticeably thicker bezels, especially at the bottom. Realme lists the touch sampling rate at 240Hz and peak brightness at 680 nits.

Realme 10 Pro 5G has flat frames, which distinguish it from the Pro+ model that has curved sides. It is available in three colorways: Starlight, Night, and Ocean. Compared to the other two, the Starlight variant is thicker and slightly heavier.

Realme 10 Pro 5G Design and Display

Performance and Memory

Powering the Realme 10 Pro 5G from underneath is the Snapdragon 695 chip. It is a 6nm chipset from Qualcomm chipset with an integrated 5G modem. Realme used the exact same chipset on last year’s 9 Pro 5G, so there is no significant performance gain if you are planning to upgrade.

The base variant of Realme 10 Pro 5G comes with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2. There is even a 12GB RAM option for users to choose from. As for your storage, you can expand it by using an external SD card.

Camera

The dual camera setup on the Realme 10 Pro 5G is arranged in two vertical rings. Leading the line is a 108MP ISOCELL HM6 sensor from Samsung. It has a 1/1.67” sensor size and a 1.92µm combined pixel size after 9-in-1 binning. Sadly, there is no dedicated ultrawide module here, and the only other camera is for portraits.

Over on the front, you get a 16MP sensor for selfies and video calls. Videos cap out at 1080p 30fps for both front and rear cameras.

Realme 10 Pro 5G Camera

Rest of the Specs

Fueling the phone is a 5,000mAh battery that supports 33W charging input. Realme ships the 10 Pro 5G with a compatible 33W charger. It takes the phone from 0 to 50% within the half-hour mark. The power button on the right also serves as fingerprint biometrics. It is among the first phone to ship with Realme UI 4, based on Android 13.

Realme 10 Pro 5G Specifications:

  • Dimensions: 163.7 x 74.2 x 8.1/8.3mm; 190/192 grams
  • Display: 6.72″ LCD, 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling, 680 nits brightness
