Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 has been one of the best portable gaming/productivity laptops for a couple of years now. The 2022 Edition of the laptop was announced at CES 2022, addressing the flaws of the previous iterations. It has now received a sweet price drop in Nepal. Design and Display

From the outside, the latest Zephyrus G14 looks almost the same as its predecessor. The laptop gets the same ultraportable design that we have been accustomed to, with two color options: Moonlight White and Eclipse Gray.

Those who like to show off their device would be happy to know that the AniMe Matrix now has more LEDs for sharper and smoother animation. Asus has even updated the Virtual PetOMNI with new games like Slot Machine, Shoot’em Up, and Whack-A-Mole.

However, you are more likely to notice the changes when you lift open the laptop. There’s a 14″ IPS LCD panel underneath with a taller 16:10 aspect ratio and a minimized bottom chin. You can choose between a 120Hz QHD or a 144Hz FHD panel. The former boasts 100% DCI-P3 coverage, 500 nits of brightness, and Pantone validation.

Asus has even added a dedicated webcam at the top bezel this time, which supports Windows Hello authentication.

CPU and GPU

On the inside, Asus has gone full-AMD by replacing NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 30-series GPU from last year with Radeon RX 6000 cards. You can now configure the laptop with up to Ryzen 9 6900HS and Radeon RX 6800S.

Since Zephyrus G14 is part of the AMD Advantage framework, it will support the new SmartShift Max. It’s a technology similar to NVIDIA’s Dynamic Boost that dynamically adjusts the power-sharing between CPU and GPU for optimum performance for a given scenario.

This time around, Asus has also included a MUX (Multiplexer) switch that lets users bypass the integrated GPU for improved graphics performance.

Cooling

As for thermals, Asus has finally adopted a vapor chamber heatsink with over 48% board coverage. Similarly, there is liquid metal for both CPU and GPU, whereas it was only available for CPU on last-gen G14. Asus has updated the Arc Flow Fans with 84 curved blades and variable blade thickness, too. With this, the company is claiming up to 32% more airflow and 2% quieter operation.

Memory and Upgradeability

As for memory, the new Zephyrus G14 (2022) gets the new DDR5 RAM and PCIe 4.0 SSD treatment. 16GB of DDR5-4800 is soldered onto the motherboard, while you can configure the other SO-DIMM slot with up to 16GB RAM. As for storage, you get up to 1TB of PCIe NVMe 4.0 SSD.

Keyboard, Touchpad, Audio

The keyboard on 2022’s Zephyrus G14 now has one zone RGB backlighting. It has an N-key rollover and customizable hotkeys with macro functions. The touchpad is also 50% larger this time to make up for the taller screen.

As for audio, you get twin tweeters and Smart Amp woofers. There are six default audio presets, and you can even create additional custom presets. Asus has also included two-way AI noise cancelation for video calls and streaming.

The battery has remained unchanged, though. You get the same 76Wh 4-cell Li-ion battery. Asus includes a 100W Type-C power adapter in the box as well. However, the company has replaced the Kensington lock slot with a UHS-II Micro SD card reader.

Other ports include two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, one USB 3.2 Type-A, one 3.5mm audio jack, and an HDMI 2.0b port. As for wireless connectivity, there’s Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6E.

Xiaomi made the global announcement of the Redmi Note 12 series on March 23. The Note 12 Pro Plus is the most premium offering of the bunch bringing in features like a 200MP camera, 120W charging, and more. The smartphone is launching soon in Nepal as well. Design and Display

As for the design, the Note 12 Pro Plus brings a glass-sandwich build with curved edges measuring in at 8.9mm. It weighs around 210 grams and comes in three color options—Polar White, Midnight Black, and Sky Blue.

Redmi has paired the SoC with 8GB or 12GB of RAM, while the storage option is limited to 256 GB. Regardless, Xiaomi has used LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage on the phone. And despite being a 2023 mid-range phone, the phone still boots on MIUI 14 based on Android 12.

One of the key highlights of the Dimensity 1080 is its Image Signal Processor (ISP), which supports 200MP cameras. And the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ makes full use of this processor. Vivo Y15s Overview:

Right off the bat, it’s hard to recommend this phone given what the other smartphone brands are offering in this price range. Vivo Y15s fails to impress with its poor HD+ IPS display, relatively under powerful Helio P35 chipset, and archaic micro USB port.

Vivo launched the Y20s smartphone in Nepal back in Jan 2021. However, it has seen a price cut of Rs. 2000 in Nepal. In this post, we will be taking a look at the specs, features, official price, and availability of Vivo Y20s in Nepal.

Vivo Y20s Overview:

Here, Vivo Y20s is basically a replica of the Y20. The only thing that is different here is the memory configuration. The device is now available in the 4/128GB variant while the Y20 maxed out at 4/64GB. The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 460 that was announced last year. Samsung Galaxy A14 4G launched in Nepal with 50MP triple cameras

Galaxy A14 5G was Samsung’s first smartphone launch of 2023, which is available here in Nepal too. The company has now launched the 4G variant of the phone as well. So, let’s get into the full specifications, official price in Nepal, and availability of the new Samsung Galaxy A14 4G.

Design, Display

The Galaxy A14 4G does not come up with a new design. That is, it retains the same flat-edge design and has three camera rings protruding from the back panel as its 5G counterpart. Galaxy A14 4G is also available in the same four color options: Black, Green, Dark Red, and Silver.

Up front, Samsung has also used the same Infinity-V notch on a 6.6-inch PLS LCD screen with FHD+ resolution. But this 4G model has just a 60Hz refresh rate compared to 90Hz on the Galaxy A14 5G.

Performance

Besides the screen refresh rate, the Galaxy A14 4G and the 5G differ in terms of chipset too. Here, we get an octa-core MediaTek Helio G80 chip instead of Exynos 1330 5G. Based on 12nm, this processor has two Cortex-A75 and six Cortex-A55 CPU cores. So while it can handle your simple day-to-day tasks pretty easily, it’s not powerful enough for gaming and stuff.

The memory option for the Galaxy A14 4G includes 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. You can further expand the internal storage using a microSD card. The phone ships with Android 13-based One UI 5 out-of-the-box.

Camera

Samsung has also made a minor change to the camera department. While the primary and macro sensors remain unchanged at 50MP and 2MP, respectively, the brand has replaced A14 5G’s 2MP depth sensor with a 5MP ultrawide camera instead. A 13MP lens is housed within the aforementioned notch for selfies.

Moving on, this smartphone is backed by a big 5000mAh battery, but with just 10W charging support. For biometrics, there is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Galaxy A14 4G also has a 3.5mm headphone jack, whereas the phone weighs 201 grams.

Samsung introduced the A14 5G as its first major smartphone of the year — less than a week after New Year’s Day. It replaces last year’s A13 5G as the company’s affordable 5G phone and is now available in Nepal. Not a lot has changed in the design aspect — Samsung Galaxy A14 5G has a notched display like its predecessor. Even on the back, the three cameras stick directly out of the rear panel without a dedicated module. That said, the corners of the main body have a larger curvature — giving the impression of a smaller phone.

The phone is built around a 6.6-inch IPS screen. Samsung has bumped the resolution from HD+ to FHD+ while retaining the 90Hz refresh rate.

To begin with, MSI G253PF sports a 24.5-inch screen with a 1080p resolution. The monitor uses a Rapid IPS panel which ensures a 4 times faster response time than a regular IPS panel, as per MSI. The anti-glare display is also VESA DisplayHDR 400 certified, ensuring that the display has a peak brightness of 400 nits.

As an Esports-centric monitor, the MSI G253PF supports a 1 ms response time and a 380Hz refresh rate for those smooth frames. But there’s a catch, the monitor can only cater to the full frame 360Hz motion rate when overclocked, and that too with the Displayport 1.4 only. Normally, the monitor delivers a peak 240Hz refresh rate or 120Hz in console mode via the dual HDMI 2.0b ports.

Nevertheless, you also get NVIDIA G-SYNC compatibility to minimize image tearing. Other attributes of the monitor include a Nightvision mode, 178-degree viewing angle, 1,000:1 contrast ratio, 106% of the sRGB color gamut, and 83% DCI-P3 color space coverage.

Talking of the ports, the gaming monitor offers four options— a 3.5mm headphone jack, DisplayPort 1.4a, and two HDMI 2.0b ports. No USB ports here.

In terms of design, the MSI G253PF monitor boasts a narrow bezel on the three sides, except for the chin on the bottom. Google’s Nearby Share is finally available for Windows

Announced first at CES 2022, Google has now launched its popular file-sharing service, Nearby Share for Windows. Its currently in beta stage and is available for download for PCs running Windows 10 and above. More about Nearby Share for Windows is in this article.

Nearby Share Beta for Windows Overview

For starters, Google introduced Nearby Share for Android in 2020 as a quick and easy way to share files between Android devices. It quickly gained popularity as there was no hassle to install third-party apps to share files, to and from one’s device. Now the service is officially available in Windows, though currently in beta stage.

To use it, users must enable Bluetooh and WiFi on both the PC and phone. And its UI and features are nearly identical to those of the phone’s Nearby Share. Like in Android phone, you can manage your device visibility to everyone, to your contacts, to your own devices only, or to nobody at the moment.

Until and unless you choose the last option, you have two options to share a file. Either you can drag and drop the file to the Nearby Share app. Or you can right-click on the file and select the Nearby Share option.

Transfers are automatically accepted if your PC and phone are logged into the same Google account, even if the recipient’s screen is turned off. For Nearby Share to work, both devices must be within 16 feet of each other.

Not long after, the entry of a Pro variant, HMD Global is adding a Plus version of the already existing Nokia C12 smartphone. The Nokia C12 Plus is launching soon in India and boasts identical specs to the vanilla model except for minor changes. In this article, we’ll walk through the specs, features, and expected price of the Nokia C12 Plus in Nepal.

Design and Display

The C12 Plus sports the same design as the C12 & Pro with a plastic frame, plastic back, and a glass front. The Plus moniker doesn’t bring any changes here. Even the color options are the same: Charcoal, Dark Cyan, and Light Mint.

On the front side, you are looking at the same 6.3-inch IPS LCD screen with HD+ resolution. Boasting a 278PPI, the waterdrop notch display retains the 60Hz refresh rate, unsurprisingly.

Performance

Under the hood, the smartphone houses an unnamed Unisoc octa-core CPU. It is likely the same Unisoc SC9863A SoC based on a 28nm fabrication process. And, the smartphone comes with a 2GB/32GB configuration as opposed to 2/64GB on the vanilla model. However, users can expand the storage up to 256GB via a MicroSD card.

As for the software, the Nokia C12 Plus boots on the Android 12 Go edition out of the box. The Android Go version is designed for low-end hardware and uses the Go version of Google apps such as Maps Go, Google Go, Google Docs go, and others.

Moving on, the C12 Plus sports an 8MP lens on the rear side with portrait and night mode support. It is capable of shooting 1080p videos at 30fps as well. Upfront, you get a 5MP snapper for selfies and video calls.
