Xiaomi vanilla edition will finally get a periscope telephoto lens!

We recently got our hands on Xiaomi 15 and it was a decent upgrade over its predecessor in terms of overall specs and feel. However, we feel like it could have done with a better set of cameras which is exactly what seems to be in store for the next iteration. The thing is, although Xiaomi 15 has yet to make its official debut in several countries including Nepal, the rumor mill is already buzzing with several details about the next model, the Xiaomi 16. In this article, we’ll break down everything we know so far based on leaked information and speculation.

Xiaomi 16 Rumors Roundup

Camera upgrade at last?

Recently we got the news that the Xiaomi 16 is expected to get a camera upgrade. Unlike the Xiaomi 15, which stuck to a 2.6x telephoto lens and didn’t see any significant advancements in the camera division, the vanilla Xiaomi 16 is rumored to come with a periscope telephoto lens. This would be a much-needed upgrade for Xiaomi, especially since the Xiaomi 15 Pro already includes a periscope lens.

Xiaomi 15 Design
Image: Xiaomi 15

That said, it’s worth noting that other smartphones, such as Vivo X200 and Oppo Find X8, have periscope telephoto lenses in their devices already, which means Xiaomi still has some catching up to do in this area.

Other expected features

Though it’s still early to confirm all the specs of the Xiaomi 16, we can guess about the other specs based on the smartphone manufacturing pattern and our speculation. The device might be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, which is another talk of the town lately. Additionally, the Xiaomi 16 could come with a 6.5-inch display and a 6000mAh battery.

Xiaomi 15 battery and charging

While the Xiaomi 15 might have left some wanting more, especially in the camera department, the Xiaomi 16 seems to be shaping up as a more promising upgrade. Of course, all of this is still based on rumors, so we’ll have to wait for official confirmation to see how much of it proves to be true. Until then, stay tuned!

Samsung unveils its 2025 lineup of monitors ahead of CES!

Samsung Monitors Price in Nepal [Updated 2025]Just like last year and the year before, Samsung has decided to unveil its 2025 lineup of casual, gaming, and professional monitors ahead of the anticipated launch at CES 2025. Here we’ll quickly wrap up the essential features, and pricing information regarding these monitors.

Samsung’s 2025 Lineup of Monitors

Samsung Smart Monitor M9

Starting with Samsung’s Smart Monitor series catered mostly for casual use, we get an OLED panel for the first time around here. It’s a 32-inch 4k monitor which offers up to a whopping 165Hz refresh rate. Those specs easily make it the flagship offering in this series with greater versatility for more than just casual use and watching movies. It’s going to be just as good of a gaming or productivity monitor with those super fast response times and crispy pixels.

Samsung Smart Monitor M9

One of the standout features of this brand-new Smart Monitor M9 is its ‘AI Picture Optimizer’ which will supposedly analyze the screen content and adjust picture quality automatically for an optimal viewing experience. So, you can use the same monitor for everything from writing documents to streaming movies, and playing games without feeling like you are losing out!

There’s also another interesting play for gamers with the ‘4k AI Upscaling Pro’ which upscales low-resolution renders to give you extra FPS without losing visual fidelity. If that doesn’t feel versatile enough, Samsung has put in a 4k camera for professional conferences too. All in all, the Smart Monitor M9 levels up what an ‘all around’ monitor is capable of with its slew of features targeting all kinds of customers. The Monitor M9 runs on Tizen OS Home just like its predecessor.

Samsung Viewfinity S8

Moving onto the Viewfinity S8 which is catered more towards professionals, we have got pretty sweet upgrades here as well. The Viewfinity S8 is the first to bring a large 37-inch 4k canvas to the lineup. That might not sound like a big jump from the 32” model previously available but it maths out to more than a third of extra estate (+33.6%). Apart from that, you get TUV Rheinland certification for an ‘Ergonomic Workspace Display’ with a freely adjustable stand for adjusting height, tilt, and pivot angle. It also has a Type-C port for connectivity on top of the regular old HDMI. The nitty gritty details haven’t been made public yet but knowing the brand’s track record, we expect great colors, HDR support, and a few extra ports as well.

Samsung ViewFinity S8

Samsung Odyssey Gaming Monitors

Finally, let’s talk about some of the most interesting features that the brand is going to showcase at CES 2025 with a 500Hz OLED gaming monitor and a 3D screen.

Odyssey G8 and G6

Samsung Odyssey is the brand’s high-end offering for gamers and enthusiasts alike and the G8 takes that a step further by offering the perfect blend of high pixels (3840×2160) and super fast refresh rate (240Hz) in an ideally sized 27” OLED gaming monitor. The G6 on the other hand has a lower res QHD panel but offers a staggering 500Hz refresh rate. That mind-bogglingly fast speed is paired with NVIDIA’s GSync and AMD’s Free Sync Premium Pro technologies to prevent screen tearing during your gaming sessions. Besides that, there’s also stuff like VESA’s HDR TrueBlack 400 and an anti-glare coating for an immersive viewing experience.

Samsung Odyssey G6 and G8 monitor

Odyssey 3D

Last but not least, Samsung also announced the Odyssey 3D which offers a 3D-like experience without the need for any special glasses and whatnot. It’s a 27-inch monitor that uses AI to convert 2D content to 3D in both games and movies. We don’t know exactly how it works or the inner workings yet but that is sure to surface during CES.

Samsung Odyssey 3D monitor

Samsung’s new lineup of Odyssey and Viewfinity monitors for 2025 seems pretty cool with a lot of new things and noticeable upgrades over previous generations. It’ll be interesting to see how the early adopters respond to these new technologies and overall market sentiment in the long run. For now, we’ll hold out till CES to get more details and keep updating you on interesting developments.

Ted Sand, COO of Netflix and an influential figure in the tech sphere, once said – “AI is not going to take your job. But the person who uses AI well might take your job” and I can’t agree more. Although AI might not cover all of our abilities, these supercharged tools can surely boost your productivity and efficiency. So, I set out to test more than a dozen of these ‘AI tools’ flooding the market. Here are five that I am actually excited for and recommend you try out!

POCO Mobile Price in Nepal 2025 [Updated]

In this post, we have listed all of the POCO mobiles that you can currently buy in Nepal with their specs, features, and official price. Recently, the company has revised the prices of a few of its models because of the increase in excise duty.

POCO’s debut in Nepal

POCO is a name that is very popular with smartphone enthusiasts. The company came into the limelight with the introduction of the POCO F1. POCO has released a handful of smartphones since then. Though none of them have been as promising as the F1, POCO still remains the first choice for many users looking for phones because of its aggressive pricing.

If we look at the budget and mid-range segment of the Nepali smartphone market, Xiaomi has made a name for itself because of its aggressive pricing strategy. As of now, it has made devices from the budget Redmi and flagship Mi lineups for the Nepali audience. It even brought the POCO F1 to Nepal when POCO was a sub-brand of Xiaomi. Since the spun-off of POCO as an independent in India, there has been confusion among fans if they see the brand again in Nepal.

POCO officially returned to the Nepalese smartphone industry in 2020 with two phones: POCO C3 and POCO M2. And a few weeks later, POCO X3 debuted in the country as well. Regardless of the spin-off, it seems like Xiaomi and POCO will be under the same leadership here in Nepal. That also means the distribution of POCO smartphones in Nepal will be handled by Vatsal Impex and Teletalk. In terms of their price, all the POCO mobiles that are available today in Nepal are fairly competitive.

Best Gaming Phones in Nepal [Updated 2025]

Mobile gaming has seen explosive growth in Nepal, driven by advancements in smartphone technology and an expanding library of high-quality games like Genshin Impact and PubG. Whether you’re into action-packed shooters, strategy games, or immersive RPGs, having the right gaming phone significantly enhances your gaming experience. In this article, we will discuss more about the best gaming phone available and their price in Nepal.

Mobile Gaming Overview

Samsung Galaxy S24 PubG

Mobile gaming has become huge thanks to games like Genshin Impact, PUBG, and Call of Duty (COD). It’s popular because you can play on your phone wherever you go. Competitive gaming, known as esports, is a big part of it now, with tournaments and players showing off their skills. PubG has become extremely popular over the years, resulting in the emergence of gamers all over Nepal. Recently, we had organized a PubG tournament named as Gadgetbyte Nepal Championship, where Horaa Esports came out victorious.

Key Features to Consider

Processor Performance:

The cornerstone of any gaming phone is its processor. In Nepal, flagship devices equipped with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 series (e.g., Samsung S24 Ultra, Xiaomi 14, iQOO 12, OnePlus 12) or MediaTek Dimensity 9300 (e.g., Vivo X100 Pro, Oppo Find X7 Ultra) deliver unparalleled gaming performance. Apple’s A17 Pro in the iPhone 15 Pro Max also stands out for its gaming capabilities. These processors ensure smooth gameplay and handle graphically intensive tasks with ease.

Display Quality:

A high-quality display enhances your gaming visuals. While mid-range gaming phones often feature AMOLED displays, flagship models may come equipped with LTPO panels that offer higher refresh rates and vibrant colors. Look for phones with refresh rates of at least 120Hz to ensure fluid motion and responsiveness during gameplay.

RAM and Storage:

Ample RAM and storage are crucial for gaming enthusiasts. Opt for phones with at least 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM to handle multitasking and ensure smooth gaming performance. Storage options typically range from 256GB to 512GB, with flagship phones featuring UFS 4.0 for faster data transfer speeds.

Cooling System:

Effective cooling is essential for maintaining peak performance during extended gaming sessions. Look for phones equipped with advanced cooling mechanisms that prevent overheating and ensure consistent performance over time.

Best Dedicated Gaming Phone ( Best Gaming Phone Under 50000)

Infinix GT 20 Pro

Infinix GT 20 Pro Rear Design

So a lot of flagship phones usually comes with flagship chipset, but doesn’t necessarily confers to have better gaming performance. As i said earlier, some phone might lack essential cooling system, or they might have not have great optimization for gaming. If you were to look in global landscape you will stumble across various dedicated gaming phone like the Redmagic 9 Pro or the Asus ROG 8 Pro. Poco X6 Pro left its magic with its affordability as an exceptional budget gaming device. However, these phones are not available in Nepal. So the only ‘dedicated’ gaming phone that can be purchased in Nepal is the Latest Infinix GT 20 Pro. The Infinix GT 20 Pro is equipped with Mediatek Dimensity 8200 Ultimate and is capable of exceptional performance while gaming.

The gaming test numbers came really good, not just the average fps, but the 99th percentile too. Mobile Legends runs incredibly smooth averaging at 118 fps, while playing Mech Arena at the highest graphics results in great stability as well. Even the temperature data is favorable in these games.

I can play PUBG at 120 fps on this thing!

Infinix has also rolled out April’s update enabling 120 fps mode in PUBG mobile. This is one of the first mid-range phones to receive this update and in fact, the Infinix GT 20 pro is the official Gaming Phone for PMSL, EMEA & CSA, which may be one of the reasons for the early update!

PUBG gameplay is smooth here averaging at 112 fps in the smooth+ 120 fps mode. Likewise, Genshin Impact runs at around 58 fps at high graphics and 60 fps settings. And as I said before, not just the average fps is impressive here, but the 99th percentile number is good too, which means the stability in games is superb.

Two cooling solutions

Infinix has also included 2 forms of cooling solutions here, the phone uses graphite sheets as well as vapor chamber cooling. While I tested the games, I found the cooling solution dissipating heat rather well here. The phone would get to almost 44°C in titles like Genshin Impact, but the performance and stability were unhindered, so I would say it did a pretty good job.

I also tried using the magnetic cooler that came in the PR package and was able to get even better temperature numbers. By the way, the cooler does not come included in the normal retail package, but users can choose to buy it separately in case they would like to have it.

Other gaming features

Besides, there are other gaming-specific features here, like “bypass charging” which does a good job of maintaining the thermals when you are playing games while plugged in. What it does is, it allows the device to drive power directly from the charger, bypassing the battery, which reduces the load on the battery resulting in less heat build-up.

Infinix GT 20 Pro: Specifications

  • Display: 6.78-inch AMOLED, 144Hz refresh rate
  • Resolution: FHD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels), 20:9 aspect ratio
  • Chipset: MediaTek Dimensity 8200 5G (4nm mobile platform)

Xiaomi 14

Xiaomi 14 Rear Design

Xiaomi 14 is one of the best gaming phones you can buy under 1 lakh rupees. It comes equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, resulting in flawless gaming performance. This phone has a smaller chassis, so I was really interested to see if it could handle all the power of the 8 Gen 3. And for the most part, it does. You can run PubG at 90 fps and Gensing impact at almost 60 fps without any hiccups. Moreover, Xiaomi says they have included something called an Ice Loop vapor chamber system, that has 3 times the thermal efficiency to that of normal Vapor Chamber cooling solutions, so gaming can be so much fun just under 1 lakh rupees.

My gaming tests showed similar results between the OnePlus 12 and the 12R, with both handling Genshin Impact at the highest graphics with a near 60 fps average. However, the 12R did experience minor frame drops when playing PUBG Mobile at 90 fps. Both phones feature an identical vapor chamber cooling system, resulting in almost identical temperature data.

While the more expensive OnePlus 12 offers additional gaming features like “Hyper Resolution” and “Adaptive Frame Boost,” these enhancements are not yet widely supported by popular titles. Despite this, the OnePlus 12R remains a compelling choice for gamers. Priced at NPR 90,999, it is considered overpriced in Nepal, but it still offers impressive performance for its availability in the region.

DeepSeek V3 open source AI surpasses GPT 4 and Claude 3.5 !

0

The AI landscape is largely dominated by a few main players spanning OpenAI, Anthropic, and Alphabet with their LLM models. GPT 4 and Claude 3.5 are some of the most popular models out there but what if I told you, there’s an open-source model that beats both? An interesting proposal right? Well, DeepSeek V3 does just that and plenty more, let’s explore.

DeepSeek V3 AI features an overview

DeepSeek proudly claims the crown over GPT 4 and Claude 3.5 evident by the fact that it’s one of the first things you see on their site.

General knowledge

When it comes to general knowledge, DeepSeek V3 seems to be competing well scoring 88.5 on the MMLU test (a major benchmark for general knowledge), it’s neck-and-neck with GPT-4 (87.2) and just slightly behind Claude 3.5 (88.3).

Complex problem solving

DeepSeek V3 shines in complex question answering. On the DROP test (which evaluates reading comprehension and reasoning), it scored an impressive 91.6, leaving both GPT-4 and Claude 3.5 in the dust.

deepseek benchmark score

Debugging like a pro

When it comes to coding, DeepSeek V3 flexes its muscles. With a score of 82.6 on HumanEval (a coding test), it outperforms many of its competitors. Not just theoretical problems, DeepSeek V3 also nails real-world software engineering tasks, scoring 42.0 on the SWE Verified test.

Mathematics

Mathematics is another area where DeepSeek V3 shows its strength. With a score of 90.2 on MATH-500, it’s far ahead of GPT-4 (74.6) and Claude 3.5 (78.3). If GPT-4 and Claude 3.5 are still doing long division, DeepSeek V3 is already solving integrals in its head.

Chinese language tasks

DeepSeek V3 also excels in language tasks, especially in Chinese. Scoring 86.5 on C-Eval (a Chinese language benchmark), it beats GPT-4 (76.0) and Claude 3.5 (76.7).

deepseek AI

So, what does all this mean? DeepSeek V3 is coming out of the gate strong, and it’s clear it’s not just here to compete but to challenge the top heroes in the AI race. In a market where it’s easy to be overshadowed by giants like GPT-4 and Claude 3.5, DeepSeek V3 is making a name for itself as the underdog with serious potential.

That being said, I want you to keep in mind that there are a lot of other AI tools like O3 (the latest from OpenAI) and Gemini 2.0 (the latest from Google) that outshine DeepSeek V3 in various standards like speed and problem-solving. So this AI tool might not be ON THE TOP OF THE LIST but it’s definitely one of the best open-source alternatives out there!
