GoPro Hero 10 Black Price in Nepal [Updated]

The GoPro Hero 10 Black arrived in Nepal back in 2021. And as time passes by, it is available at a cheaper price these days. Here, we will be looking at the specs, features, the latest official price, and availability of GoPro Hero 10 Black in Nepal.

GoPro Hero 10 Black Overview:

Like last year’s Hero 9, the new GoPro Hero 10 Black features the same 1/2.3-inch camera sensor. Thanks to the new GP2 chipset, it can make full use of the 23.6MP sensor by taking 23MP still shots. To compare, the GoPro Hero 9 could only capture 20MP still photos due to limited processing power.

The new chipset also activates Local Tone Mapping and 3D Noise reduction technology for finer details and reduced noise even in low-light settings. It also allows the front display to run at 30fps.

GoPro Hero 10 Black Design

As for videos, you can record up to 5.3K videos at 60fps. That is double the frame rates from last year. Similarly, you can record 4K videos at 120fps. Moving on, GoPro 10 allows frame grabs of up to 19.6MP from videos.

Connectivity

Additionally, you can wirelessly sync the recording to the GoPro Quik app. The company says that the process is now 30% faster. Here, you can apply quick edits to the uploads. Similarly, you also have the option of transferring recordings via a wired USB connection and Cloud upload. However, the latter requires a paid subscription to GoPro’s cloud service.

Rest of the features

In this iteration, GoPro has improved image stabilization too. The new HyperSmooth 4.0 brings an increased horizon leveling of 45°. You can live stream 1080p videos with HyperSmooth 4.0 stabilization right from the camera. Similarly, you can even use it as a webcam.

GoPro Hero 10 Black lets you record videos using TimeWarp 3.0 and Night Lapse too. Thanks to the Hindsight feature, the camera Hindsight starts to capture up to 30 seconds before users hit the record.GoPro Hero 10 Black Display GoPro Hero 10 uses the same battery as its predecessor. Thus, it would drain much faster due to the new powerful chip and advanced features. Regardless, you also get the option to buy and apply different mods to the camera.

GoPro Hero 10 Black Specifications:

  • Camera: 23.6MP sensor
  • Processor: GP2
  • Videos: 5.3K videos at up to 60fps, 4K videos at 120fps

Second Hand Mobile in Nepal [Buy Guide]

We have an extensive list of the best phones you can get on every price bracket starting from NPR 10,000, all the way to the best phones money can buy. However, we can’t deny that second-hand phones are a pretty solid deal, maybe even better than a new one! So, it is not at all unreasonable to consider getting a used phone for yourself. This is why we put this guide together so that you can know everything about buying a second-hand mobile phone in Nepal.

Buying Second-hand Mobile in Nepal [Full Guide]

The concept of “second-hand” is second-hand for us Nepalis. (Get it? Cause the concept is not something new. LOL!) The buying and selling of used products is quite common in our country, whether it be electronics or vehicles. In recent times, even the trend of thrifting clothes is on a steady rise.

All this is to say, the second-hand market is very lively in Nepal. Given that, in no way would the used smartphones not be a popular category. In fact, it might very well be the most lively second-hand market in our country. That being said…

Why buy second-hand?

There are several reasons as to why you would buy a second-hand mobile in Nepal. The following are some of them:

1. More affordable

The most obvious reason for anyone to get a second-hand phone would be a lower cost. Smartphones are a depreciating good, which is why they are sold at a much cheaper price than a sealed-pack one. For example: a brand new iPhone 13 costs you NPR 95,000 right now. However, if you decide to pick a second-hand unit, you can find it for over 30% cheaper.

2. Better deals

When buying a second-hand mobile, you are subject to getting better deals too! For this instance, let’s say your budget is about NPR 70,000 and you want to get a Samsung phone. If you decide to get a first-hand set then your choice is pretty much the Galaxy A55 5G. Meanwhile, if you are open to getting a used phone then you can bag the Galaxy S22 Ultra for a similar price.

Let’s juxtapose the Galaxy A55 5G and S22 Ultra: The former comes with a fresher battery and a charging adapter bundled with it. However, as an overall package, the Galaxy S22 Ultra still outdoes the latest A50-series entry. It comes with a more premium look, better display, a more potent processor (even with Exynos 2200), and even more capable cameras. While the old battery might be noticeable, you can pretty much make up for it with a faster 45W charging speed.

3. Bragging rights

Smartphones are looked at as a status symbol in our society. And for that very reason, a lot of people seek a flagship phone even though they do not need all that hardware and power as their daily driver.

Social Pressure

Now I am not in a position to tell you that, hitting above your financial standing for the status isn’t reasonable. However, what I can tell you is, that if you are just seeking to show off your phone, then getting a used unit is much kinder to your pocket. You need not say it’s second-hand, just say it’s a gift from your cousin in Australia or something. 🤷🏻‍♂️

4. Better for the environment

I may sound like an activist, but e-waste is a real problem the world is facing right now. The tech companies are going on with all that “being environmentally friendly” shenanigans and are cutting down on the charger and earphones you used to get in the box with your new smartphone.

But, one of the most effective ways you can be considerate about the environment is by reducing the consumption and waste itself. And getting a second-hand mobile instead of a new one does exactly that — reduce consumption and waste!

How to get a second-hand mobile in Nepal?

Well, I have laid out the benefits of getting second-hand smartphones, now let’s take a look at how to actually get one. It is not hard at all — all thanks to the internet. You can tune into different platforms and find yourself a deal. And that is what you need to decide — the platform. You can go one of two ways — Certified or DIY!

1. Certified

There are companies like SabKo Phone and NayaPurano in Nepal, whose primary business is buying and selling second-hand mobiles. The former even operates under the “Like New” section in the largest e-commerce platform of Nepal i.e. Daraz.

Nayapurano certified

The working modality of these companies is — they buy an old phone, inspect it, run all the tests, make repairs (if needed), and sell it to someone else. If you are buying a second-hand phone from them, you can rest assured that there are no issues with the phone. It’s almost — like new. They will even throw in a warranty for a certain time for a good measure. So, all this security translates to higher pricing for the phone. But, hey, whatever helps you sleep at night, right?

So, let’s recall the benefits and shortcomings of getting a second-hand phone through a certified platform:

Pros
  1. Any issues that might have existed in the phone have been checked on by professionals
  2. Quality Assurance
  3. Available with a warranty (Optional)
  4. Doorstep delivery service
Cons
  1. A bit pricier

2. DIY

If you decide to go this route, then there are no middlemen or professionals involved. It’s directly you (the buyer) and the seller. Now, I named this section DIY because everything and every step in here, you quite literally have to do it yourself. Find a deal, arrange a meeting with the seller, inspect the product, get a second opinion maybe, and finally strike a deal. You also need to be cautious along those steps because it’s a whole other world, this one. Let’s go step-by-step:

1. Finding a deal

You can find second-hand mobile in Nepal through online mediums like Hamrobazar and Facebook Marketplace, or you can go to physical phone repair shops directly as well. The latter one is a bit of a hassle, and also they most likely have listed the smartphone on the aforementioned platform anyway. Just look for it online — it’s much easier with a large number of choices.

Hamrobazar Logo

2. Arranging a meeting

Now this is the first hurdle you run into doing things yourself. Firstly, you might not even get a response from the seller of the listed item or it’s already sold out or best of all — it’s a fake listing. Yes, that happens! Say the seller does respond to you, now you will have to meet the person. Here are some cautionary steps to take:

  1. Take a friend — preferably someone with good knowledge of smartphones, with you
  2. Arrange the meeting somewhere safe and with a decent flow of people. This is because there are chances that the listing was bait put up by a thug whose plan was to get loot you all along.

Better safe than sorry, folks.

Second-hand mobile scam

3. Inspection

Yay! That second-hand mobile phone listing was genuine, the seller does have the product. Is it legit though? Is it their phone and not a stolen one? Does everything work fine? Has it been repaired at some point? There is a lot to consider here, so let’s go through what you gotta do:

Ensure Legitimacy

Ask the seller if they have proof of purchase. If they don’t, the deal has turned a lot sour suddenly. However, it’s possible that they lost the bill, which happens quite often. But you need to make sure that it’s not a stolen product, you wouldn’t want any issues with the police later on. Which is why…

  1. Don’t hesitate to interrogate them about the phone. If it’s their phone and they truly want to sell it then they will put up with it. The customer is the king, alright?
    • Ask them when, where, and how they got the phone.
    • If it was a gift, who gifted it to them?
    • How long have they been using the phone?
    • After selling that phone, which phone will they be using?
    • Might as well ask about their profession and family background to get an idea of how plausible their answers are.
  2. Another simple thing you can ask them to do is unlock the phone with the password as well as biometrics. If it is a stolen phone, they might fumble in here. After they unlock their phone, scroll around. You can also ask them to open the gallery and show you their photos there. If they falter or protest, you can just stress that you NEED TO BE SURE that the phone isn’t stolen.
  3. Check the MDMS registration status of the phone. You at least want the phone to be a legal one. If it is registered, really good. If not, you can cut the deal. Or try to knock off the MDMS registration fee from their asking price.
Is the phone alright?

Now that you have ensured that the phone is not stolen or is legal, at least. You now have to see the phone itself. Check the cosmetics of the phone, every nook and cranny.

  1. See if the display has any lines, dead pixels or patches
  2. Are there any dents and scratches anywhere on the phone?
  3. Especially check the edges of the display and back panel. Look for any gaps or glue there, if there is the phone has already been popped open and repaired.
[A repaired phone isn’t a bad deal by any means. The seller at least has to be truthful about what they repaired and the quality of the repair.]
  4. Check the cameras. Are all of them working? Are there any scratches or cracks on the camera’s glasses?
  5. Inspect the charging of the phone. Does it charge? Is there any damage to the port?
(Carry a power bank and a cord beforehand)
  6. Ask to trail for the phone for a certain time. This is to ensure that there aren’t any issues you did not catch right away. You can even have a professional look at the phone or get a second opinion from your close ones during this period.
4. Closing the deal

All the inspections have been done. The phone looks alright, the seller seems alright. Now it’s time to finally close this second-hand mobile deal. So, what to do?

  1. Avoid cash payments — transfer the money online to their bank account. Or choose to deposit. This is so that you can have proof of payment and avoid any legal jumble.
  2. If you have decided to take the phone for a trial, know this, the seller won’t agree to give you the phone for nothing. They need assurance for their product too. However, don’t immediately transfer them the amount — use the Escrow service available on both eSewa and Khalti.
[When using this feature, the transaction only goes through after the sender confirms it. Additionally, the receiver can also raise a dispute against the transaction if the seller delays the confirmation. The digital wallet will act as a mediator in case of dispute.]
  3. If you suspect that the deal is sketchy or an issue may arise in the future, then don’t do it. But if you’re going to do it anyway, then get the paperwork done. You can specify the details of the seller, the date and the details of the deal, and have them sign and stamp their fingerprint on it.
  4. Take a photo and the details of the seller, even if the deal seems alright. Having evidence is crucial.

That is about it regarding getting a second-hand mobile phone by yourself. Too much going on, I know. Anyhoo, let’s compare the pros and cons of going this route:

Pros
  1. More control over the deal
  2. Better pricing with room for negotiation
Cons
  1. Chances of scam/being a stolen product/bait for something shadier
  2. Need to be knowledgeable
  3. More work
  4. Lack of assurance/security

Buying Second-hand Mobile in Nepal: Conclusion

With our growing necessities, it is not wrong to long for better phones. And with such diverse options available, going second-hand is not at all a bad choice. There are a handful of advantages to getting a second-hand phone. It has disadvantages too, but only if you don’t stick with a certified platform. And with this guide, I hope you can steer clear of those drawbacks. Lastly, congratulations on that phone of yours!

Samsung Galaxy M35 review: Best midrange Samsung phone!

Hello everyone, Samsung has just launched the Galaxy M35 in Nepal. And if you have been looking to buy a midrange Samsung phone in 2024, I think the Galaxy M35 might be the best phone for you. The M35 here is basically the cheaper Galaxy A35 which features the same chipset, display and camera specs.

Samsung Galaxy M35 5G Specifications

  • Display: 6.6” FHD+ 120Hz OLED, 1,000 nits
  • Dimension: 162.3 x 78.6 x 9.1 mm
  • Weight: 222g
  • Chipset: Exynos 1380
  • UI/OS: Android 14, One UI 6.1
  • Rear Camera: 50MP (OIS) + 8MP (ultra-wide) + 2MP (macro)
  • Front Camera: 13MP

  • Buy Galaxy M35

Samsung Galaxy M35 Review

Design

  • Dimension: 162.3 x 78.6 x 9.1 mm
  • Weight: 222g

Now the first thing you will see compromise on the Galaxy M35 to meet the price point is its design. You get a pretty basic stuff with all plastic build. The colour options are also less attractive than the Galaxy A35. It’s also quite chunky weighing more than 220gms but that’s understandable since it has a big 6000mAh battery.

Upfront, the bezels are also quite thick. So, the M35 overall isn’t a good-looking phone for sure, you also don’t get any form of IP rating as well. But it’s not a big compromise for a budget phone.

I however liked the fact that you get Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection on a budget phone and during my one week of testing, I haven’t received any big scratches, so that’s nice.

Display

  • Display: 6.6” FHD+ 120Hz OLED, 1,000 nits

Another thing that’s nice is you get a superb AMOLED display here. It has good colour calibration out of the box, and the touch response is great. It can get fairly bright for outdoor visibility and can be super dim during nighttime.

Coupled that with decent stereo speakers, this is a good phone to marathon-watch movies. Although, there is no HDR playback support on OTT platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime here. Otherwise, for the price, this is a good A+ display.

I also liked the vibration motor here. It’s actually better than what you get on more expensive Samsung phones like Galaxy A25 and A35. So the typing experience here is not that bad.

BTW, you don’t get an in-display fingerprint here as the A35. It uses a capacitive fingerprint sensor here which is located comfortably and it’s quite fast too.

Performance

  • Chipset: Samsung Exynos 1380 (5nm)

As for the performance, this phone uses the same Exynos 1380 chipset as the Galaxy A35. When I reviewed the A35, I said that this chipset is just not good enough if you are paying over 30K, but for a budget phone, it does make sense.

I have the 8GB RAM variant with me, and for normal uses like browsing the internet, and using social media, it’s fast and responsive enough. The 120Hz refresh rate is fairly smooth too, with no lags or stutter. It also has a vapour chamber cooling solution, so on my usage, I didn’t face any heating issues.

Samsung Galaxy M35

However, you will notice app openings to be a tad bit slower and when you try to game on it, you will not get the best of experience. For instance, you can play PubG mobile in smooth graphics and extreme frame rates and the average fps is around 58, but as you see the 99 percentile is at just 48fps, meaning you will notice some stutter during combat. And high graphics games such as Genshin Impact have a miserable 99 percentile.

So, if you game a lot, I would suggest you go for the Nothing Phone 2(a) or the Poco X6 which will provide you with much more stable fps.

OS and UI

  • OS Android 14/One UI 6.1

Anyway, two areas where Samsung phone does a much better job Vs the competition is with the software experience and the cameras. Here, the Galaxy M35 comes with Android 14 & One UI 6.1 out of the box. The software here is clean with very little bloatware, no Ads and an effortless experience. Samsung is also promising 4 years of OS and 5 years of security patch, which is the industry’s highest on a budget phone.

Camera

  • Primary: 50MP f/1.8
  • Ultrawide : 8MP f/2.2
  • Macro : 5MP f/2.4

Camera-wise, you get a basic 50MP camera with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide angle lens, a 5MP macro camera, and a 13MP selfie camera. But with Samsung optimisation and processing, the photos come out really well. The dynamic range and white balance are also decent. The way it processes greens and blues is eye-pleasing and social media-ready.

However, the details on the photos are not that great – I noticed the photos to be a little soft when you zoom in. You will notice photos getting noisier during low light too. But because of the pleasing colour tone, I liked the output I was getting.

The Galaxy M35’s portraits and selfies are also quite optimised. It produces a nice skin tone with background blur and exposure management. However, it would have been better if Samsung provided the 2X portrait option, this option is now available in most Android phones these days.

Surprisingly, the 8MP ultra-wide camera is also not bad. Although the dynamic range and details are compromised, you can click some good-looking wide landscape shots from this phone.

For videography, you can click 4K 30fps videos from the main and selfie camera. Although OIS is disabled, software-based EIS works here to stabilise the videos to some extent and I was able to get decent stabilisation. The 1080P ultra-wide video isnt great though with low details and noise levels.

Battery

  • Battery: 6000 mAh

Ok so far, for a budget phone, the Galaxy M35 has a good display, acceptable performance, 4 years of Android updates commitment, and above-average cameras, but the USP of this phone is truly the battery. Because it has a 6,000 mAh battery, which is much larger than the usual 5,000 mAh industry standard.

Samsung Galaxy M35 battery and charging

So even on my heavy usage which included hours of watching YouTube videos, and playing Clash Royale, the battery would remain at 15 to 20% before I go to bed. And this is one of the rare phones where even if my battery is at 10-15%, I was comfortable carrying it around because I know for sure, it would last me for a couple of hours. Charging, as expected, isnt very fast. With the 65W Ugreen GAN charger that I use, it takes the phone from 0 to 100% in about 1.5 hours. So, yeah, not as fast as I am used to!

Samsung Galaxy M35 Review: Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Superb AMOLED display
  • Clean software experience with long-term updates
  • Great battery life
  • Decent main cameras

Cons:

  • Basic design with thick bezels
  • Heavy weight
  • Average performance in high-end gaming
  • No IP rating

Samsung Galaxy M35 Review: Conclusion

Overall, as I mentioned at the beginning of this article, I genuinely feel the Galaxy M35 is the best Samsung phone under NPR 50,000. Yes, I understand, the Exynos 1380 isnt the fastest chipset and you will definitely get faster phones at a cheaper price, but other aspects of this phone are simply unbeatable.

Plus, the reason why people like to buy Samsung phones is No. 1 They have the highest number of service centers, and No. 2 Samsung update history is really good. So, when Android 15 rolls out, it will be one of the first budget phones to receive that update.  Hence, if you are eyeing for a safe, no-nonsense midrange phone, this is it – The Galaxy M35!

Unihertz Jelly Max is the world’s smallest 5G phone?

Compact phones are more or less extinct in today’s scenarios. However, Unihertz says it’s just getting started and aims to put together the world’s smallest 5G phone. Well, it’s ambiguous whether or not it is the smallest 5G phone, which is why the company has put a “?” behind the title. In this article, we will delve further into the Unihertz Jelly Max and discuss all about it.

Unihertz Jelly Max Overview

Design and Display

Touted as the smallest 5G phone, the Unihertz Jelly Max is truly tiny. This thing is just 128.70 mm in length, however, it has a considerable chunk at 16.30 mm. On the other hand, it weighs in at 180 grams giving it a similar heft to a regular smartphone. This phone has extremely curved edges and comes with a transparent back panel and a customisable button on the side. Additionally, Unihertz is also designing magnetic armbands and clips, and Bike Mounts to go together with this phone.

Unihertz Jelly Max Display

On the front, this phone has a 5.05-inch LCD panel that stretches 720 x 1,520 pixels in resolution. The company says that the screen-to-body ratio on this thing has gone up by 50% compared to their previous offering i.e. Jelly Star. While that may be true, the bezels on the Unihertz Jelly Star are on the thicker end by 2024 standards — especially on the chin area.

Performance

While the Unihertz Jelly Max might be tiny in terms of stature, this thing does not sleep on the performance side of things. You are looking at the MediaTek Dimensitty 7300 as its primary driver. This is the same chipset we saw on CMF Phone 1 and it comes with 4nm fabrication and a peak clock speed of 2.5GHz.

Unihertz Jelly Max Performance

Additionally, it packs a 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. This is the only combination the phone will be available in. The Unihertz Jelly Max also supports a MicroSD card. However, the upper ceiling of the external memory support has not been specified. On the software end, this phone boots on Android 14 and apparently comes with new features to offer enhanced data security, expanded accessibility, and seamless connectivity.

Camera and the rest

The cameras on the Unihertz Jelly Max are also impressive, at least on paper. It has a dual-camera setup on the back comprising of a 100MP primary shooter and an 8MP 3.4x telephoto lens. Similarly, the front-facing camera is 32MP in resolution and doubles down as a face scanner. For additional biometric security, you get a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Unihertz Jelly Max Charging

In the tank, it has a 4,000 mAh battery which is large enough considering its size. Furthermore, it supports charging speeds of 66W. For cellular connectivity, it has a hybrid dual SIM slot and 5G support from numerous telecom operators. In addition, the Unihertz Jelly Max comes with WiFi 6, Bluetooth v5.4, NFC, and a dual-frequency four-way navigation system as well. Lastly, it is also equipped with an IR blaster through which you can control other home appliances like TVs, ACs, etc.

Unihertz Jelly Max Specifications

  • Design: Compact size, transparent back, and flat edges
  • Dimensions: 128.70 mm x 62.70 mm x 16.30 mm
  • Weight: 180 grams
  • Display: 5.05” LCD Panel
  • Resolution: HD+ (720 x 1,520)
  • Chipset: Octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 7300 (4nm)

Dyson is back with another bizzare headphone!

Last year, Dyson brought something unique to the wearables game: air-purifying, noise-canceling headphones. Although it garnered a ton of buzz, the idea was ultimately impractical and failed, but the company seems to want a retry. In this article, we’ll explore the new Dyson OnTrace headphones and what makes them special from the rest.

Dyson’s New OnTrac Headphones: Overview

Dyson Zone combined features of noise-canceling headphones with a wearable air purifier but it couldn’t perform as well in the market. It was weird-looking, heavy-weight, and ultimately NOT what the average person wanted to be wearing.

The company has now announced its second series of headphones- OnTrac. These headphones represent Dyson’s attempt to establish itself in the premium headphones market with a more grounded concept: customizable headphones.

OnTrac

The main selling point of OnTrac is its customizable feature with replaceable ear cushions and outer caps, offering over 2,000 color combinations. The form factor looks similar to Zone but without the air purification visor.

Dyson provides a foldable carrying case with the OnTrac headphones, but it offers limited protection and can easily let in water or dirt. They claim to deliver “best-in-class” noise cancellation using an eight-microphone system.

Dyson OnTrac Design

Dyson OnTrac Specifications:

  • Base Colors: CNC Aluminum, CNC Copper, Ceramic Cinnabar, and CNC Black Nickel.
  • Personalization Options: Seven colors (for ear cushions) and seven styles (of outer caps)
  • Battery Life: 55 hours of continuous listening on a single charge.
  • Audio: 40-millimeter drivers, frequency range of 6Hz to 21,000Hz
  • Connectivity: Bluetooth 3.5mm-to-USB-C adapter.
  • Additional Features: On-head detection for auto-pause

Dyson OnTrac: Hit or another flop?

Well, Dyson Zone launched with an inbuilt air purifier which would have been a cool option if the headphones didn’t …flop. That being said, the OnTrac does look like it has good potential to be both fun and successful.

While many were hoping Dyson would refine the air purification concept with a better design, the customizable colours offer a fun alternative. The long-lasting battery OnTrac is tough competition for brands like Apple, Bose, and Sony. So let’s see if this shift of idea would favor Dyson’s headphones in brand rebuilding or if it will be yet another loss.
