Huawei Mate 70 series is going to launch with Kirin 9100 chipset!

Huawei is gearing up to launch the Mate 70 series later this month. The lineup will reportedly include the Mate 70, Mate 70 Pro, Mate 70 Pro+, and the premium Mate 70 RS, with the latter expected to be the most feature-packed of the bunch. In this article, we will discuss the Huawei Mate 70 series rumors, specifications, and launch date.

Design and Display

The Huawei Mate 70 series will likely feature a more angular, flat-frame design compared to its predecessor’s rounded edges.

As per the leaked image on Weibo, the display will have three punch holes (again) – which is polarizing for sure. These cutouts are likely to include one for the front-facing camera and the other two for a 3D ToF (Time of Flight) system used for facial recognition and enhanced security. Additionally, the power button on the right side of the device will be larger, offering improved usability.

Performance

Under the hood, the Mate 70 series is expected to be powered by the new Kirin 9100 chipset. This octa-core SoC will feature a powerful combination of cores, including a single Cortex-X1 core clocked at 2.67 GHz for demanding tasks, alongside three Cortex-A78 cores running at 2.32 GHz for balanced performance.

Additionally, the chipset will include four Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.02 GHz, designed to be more energy-efficient for lighter tasks. The Kirin 9100 will be coupled with Huawei’s custom Maleoon 910 GPU, and it will be manufactured using SMIC’s N+3 process node (6nm).

Moreover, this new series will likely have the HarmonyOS Next (Huawei’s first OS).

Camera

In terms of camera design, the Mate 70 series is expected to borrow elements from the Mate 50 series, with four cameras arranged in a square formation, housed within a circular or octagonal module.

While the camera design appears similar, the sensors are reportedly larger. However, details regarding the internal specifications of the camera setup are still scarce.

Following the successful launch of the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro, the company is now preparing to unveil new models from its sub-brand Redmi—the K80 series. In this article, let’s discuss the Xiaomi Redmi K80 series, including its rumors, leaks, and launch date.

Display and Design 

Recently leaked images reveal a major design renovation for the Redmi K80 with a circular camera array, reminiscent of the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro. Other than that, the phone has a sleek, glossy white/silver finish. Both phones will feature an IP68 rating dor dust and water resistance.

Regarding the display, the base K80 model is rumored to feature a 2K Huaxing LTPS panel. It will reportedly include an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor beneath the display.

The Pro variant is expected to come with the same 2K Huaxing LTPS panel and an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor. Both models will feature Dragon Crystal Glass protection and IP68 dust and water resistance, with Antidrop glass protection on both the front and back panels.

Performance and Battery

In terms of performance, the standard K80 is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, while the Pro version will likely boast the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.

Moreover, the series will run on HyperOS 2, which has been specially optimized for gaming performance, featuring enhanced touch response and new system animations.

Likewise, the vanilla K80 and K80 Pro will sport a sizeable 6500mAh battery and a 6000mAh cell respectively.  The standard model will sport a 90W fast charging and 30W wireless charging whereas the Pro model steps up to 120W wired charging and 50W wireless charging capabilities.

Camera

For the optics, the distinctive circular camera module houses three sensors and a flash unit, with “50MP” prominently displayed. The rear camera of the Redmi K80 will likely feature a 50MP OmniVision OV50 main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide sensor, and a 2MP macro lens. Likewise, the Pro version will sport a 50-megapixel OmniVision Light Fusion 800 primary camera, a 32-megapixel Samsung S5KKD1 ultra-wide lens, and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with a 2.6x optical zoom.

They also introduced Galaxy Watch7 and two new models of their third-gen earbuds. Let’s delve into the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro in this article with its official price in Nepal.

Audio

The Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro comes with two speaker units — a 10.5mm dynamic driver and a 6.1mm planar. The former handles bass and low frequencies, while the latter controls treble and the other end of the spectrum. Meanwhile, these buds are equipped with three mics on each side to personalise the audio output.

At the same time, they are also utilised for noise cancellation. While its vanilla counterpart only offers regular ANC, the Pro model is capable of Adaptive ANC. As such, it detects when someone initiates a conversation with you and turns off noise cancellation automatically. Other than that, this one has an in-ear fit and an LED strip called the “Blade Lights” on the stem. Meanwhile, these buds also come with an IP57 rating and are available in Silver, and White colours.

Likewise, these buds are specialised to work with the Interpreter feature available in supported Galaxy smartphones. Other than that, they also come with ecosystem features like Auto Switch (multi-device connectivity with Samsung devices), and Auracast. The buds rely on Bluetooth v5.4 for wireless connectivity and support touch as well as voice controls. They can go on for 7 hours on a full charge and an additional 23 hours with ANC turned off. When you do run out of charge, you can plug it in through a USB Type-C port or place it over a wireless charger. The choice is yours!

HP’s Victus lineup has always been a fan favorite when it comes to getting a proper gaming laptop on a budget. And while the Victus 15 is ever dominating in the sub 150,000 NPR market in Nepal, the Victus 16: its beefier brother had been missing. That’s not the case anymore and now you can get the big bro Victus 16 from HP in Nepal that too for a sweet sweet price. In this short piece, we’ll briefly touch on the different aspects of the HP Victus 16 (2024) gaming laptop, its specs and features, and finally the pricing and availability. 

HP Victus 16 (2024) Overview 

Design and Display 

Starting off with the Victus DNA, the 16-inch gaming laptop is made entirely out of plastic but features a sturdier build than its 15-inch sibling. It also has larger dimensions, weighs a bit extra, and has an improved thermal design, which we’ll talk about in the performance section. The ports are still located on the left and right sides, with the back completely left for ventilation.

On the front, the large 16.1-inch screen is suitable for gaming, although the resolution is limited to Full HD and the refresh rate to 144Hz on the sole Nepalese variant. The brightness also maxes out at just 300 nits. But, HP says the response time is less than 10ms, and the panel can display 100% of the standard sRGB colors, which is nice to see. We do hope that higher-end variants with brighter and faster panels also make their way here in the future. 

Performance and Memory 

Powering the Victus 16 is a Zen 4-based Ryzen 7 8845HS that can clock up to an impressive 5.1GHz. It’s your standard 8-core 16-thread configuration fabbed on TSMC’s 4nm process. So, expect good efficiency on top of great overall CPU performance. The integrated Radeon 780M graphics is quite capable on its own but the star of the show is definitely NVIDIA’s RTX 4070.

The GeForce RTX 4070 in the HP Victus 16 (2024) can go up to plenty 120W, although we have found most laptop 4070 GPUs to cap around 100W while gaming. To cool this, there are dual fans on either side of the laptop, heat pipes over the CPU and GPU, and thermal paste on the processors. For memory, this variant ships with 16GB of DDR5 memory in a dual-channel configuration. The 8GB sticks can be user-replaced with higher-capacity ones for further expansion. Similarly, the 500GB NVME drive can be replaced with a higher capacity M.2 2280/2242 SSD. It’s unclear whether this exact variant has an extra M.2 slot or not but the Victus 16 generally has an extra slot over the smaller 15.

Ports and Battery 

The port situation could be a little sweeter as well. The Type-C port on the Victus 16 is just a 5Gbps port (with PD and DP support) and not the faster USB-4 standard. The three USB-A ports are also the same USB 3.2 Gen 1 based while the HDMI is version 2.1. There’s also an RJ45 slot, 3.5mm jack, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.3. 

Fueling it all is a decently sized 70Wh cell powered by a 230W AC adapter.

14th-generation laptops have been slowly rolling to Nepal in the last month or so. Notably the new Zenbook 14 with its Core Ultra 7 chipset and just recently the ROG Strix G16 and G18 gaming laptops with their Raptor Lake refresh CPUs. We also expect the 2024 Predator lineup from Acer to make its way to Nepal soon. But wanna know what’s already here ? – the new Lenovo LOQ 15 and 16. In this article, let’s take a look at the Lenovo LOQ 15 (2024), its design, specifications, price in Nepal, and availability. 

Lenovo LOQ 15 (2024) Overview

Design and Display 

We don’t see much departure in the looks department. The new LOQ 15 features a plastic chassis with a decent build like its predecessor (LOQ 15 2023 Review). It weighs about 2.4 kg and is available in Luna Grey color option.

The display panel is a 15.6 inch IPS LCD of Full HD res and a 16:9 aspect ratio. It does have good enough colors at 100% sRGB coverage and features a matte coating. And since it’s a gaming laptop, you do get a fast 144Hz refresh rate with G-Sync support. Do note that not all models have identical screens, so double-check your specs before the purchase.

Performance and Memory 

The LOQ 2024 can be configured with both 13th and 14th-generation Intel Core processors as well as Ryzen chips. But the highlight is on the new 14700HX.

The Core i7-14700HX in the LOQ 15 is a 20-core, 28-thread chip that has extra efficiency cores (12 > 8), and higher clock speeds than its predecessor (5.5 GHz max clock vs 5.0 GHz) which should bring a performance boost in both single-threaded as well as max load workflows. The 14700HX is a Raptor Lake refresh CPU and is not based on the new Meteor Lake architecture with an Intel 4 process node. But since efficiency, and a better iGPU aren’t the top priorities when it comes to a gaming laptop, the Raptor Lake i7 is a fine choice for the LOQ 15 (2024). Currently, you can purchase the Lenovo LOQ 15 (2024) with an NVIDIA RTX 4060 GPU with 8 GB of GDDR6 VRAM and a 115W TGP in Nepal. Under the hood, there’s a decent 60Wh battery and you get a 230W Slim Tip charger in the box that refills the machine in just about an hour. Xbox is a widely popular gaming console and a handheld version is in the news as per Microsoft’s Gaming Boss Phil Spencer. In this piece of news, we’ll walk through the expected features, specifications, and other info regarding the Xbox Handheld console.

The news about an Xbox handheld console sprouted up from an interview of Phil Spencer with Bloomberg. He has mentioned Microsoft developing such a console but the final version will take a few more years. The California-based tech giant is already working on prototypes and seeking more visions for now as per Spencer.

He said, “Longer term, I love us building devices.” “And I think our team could do some real innovative work, but we want to be informed by learning and what’s happening now.”, he added.

Local games might be the priority

Spencer was asked if the upcoming handheld console would support a dedicated platform with local games like on a Steam Deck or Nintendo Switch. And he answered, “I think being able to play games locally is really important.” So, that points out, that we might be able to play locally available games without having to connect to the internet.

Meanwhile, the current game plan of Microsoft is to prioritize enhancing the Xbox app experience on existing handheld devices first.
