Huawei was a big game player in SoC manufacturing with its wholly-owned subsidiary — HiSilicon. After the whole US-ban ordeal, the Chinese tech giant no longer had the means to develop chipsets with the latest tech, rapidly slowing down their progress. The company is working on the Kirin 9100 processor, which reportedly costs quite a sum to manufacture.
HiSilicon Kirin 9100 Rumours Round-up
Domestic Fabbing
International chipmakers like TSMC and Samsung use EUV (Extreme Ultraviolet) lithography to manufacture their processors. This allows them to achieve the latest fabbing process which offers better efficiency. However, HiSilicon — and Huawei by extension — can’t access such tech. Hence, it turned to China-based SMIC to develop Kirin 9100 chips.
The local semiconductor foundry is reportedly working on “n+2/3” fabrication which will be produced using Deep Ultraviolet (DUV) lithography with multiple patterning. This translates to 5nm nodes, and potentially an equivalent performance to that of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. For reference, the Qualcomm chipset came out near the end of 2022, has 4nm fabbing, and offers a peak clock speed of 3.2GHz.
Thus, Hisilicon opting for a new tech to develop the Kirin 9100 is cool and all, but it still lags considerably behind the latest offering from Qualcomm and MediaTek in terms of performance.
That being said, this chipset is quite costly to manufacture. Foundries generally do not reveal such information. Hence, we are sourcing this information from a Chinese tipster. They claim that producing the Hisilicon Kirin 9100 costs the company about CNY 1,100 to 1,300. This comes out to be around USD 157 to 186.
In comparison, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 apparently costs USD 190. In the meantime, the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 is much cheaper at USD 155. Therefore, the upcoming Huawei silicon cost is similar to the other two heavy hitters, while its performance isn’t as potent.
HiSilicon Kirin 9100 Launch and Availability
Initially, the HiSilicon Kirin 9100 was supposed to debut in the Mate 60 series. However, that did not turn out to be the case. Now, it will likely be available in the Mate 70 series, which apparently includes four phones — the titular one, Mate 70 Pro, Mate 70 Pro+, and Mate 70 Extraordinary Master.
Meanwhile, check out our 2024 flagship chipset comparison video:
Apple Watch Series 8 is the company’s flagship smartwatch from 2022, sitting just below the Apple Watch Ultra which costs almost twice as much as this guy. And in this post, we’ll be going through the specs, features, availability, and the latest official price in Nepal of the new Apple Watch Series 8.
Apple Watch Series 8 Overview:
Design and Display
For the most part, the Apple Watch Series 8 isn’t that different from the Apple Watch Series 7. Be it design, display, or even battery life, these two smartwatches are pretty much the same. You’re looking at a squarish chassis in either a 41mm or a 45mm aluminum or stainless steel case.
Apple Watch Series 8
1 of 7
Starlight (Aluminum)
Silver (Aluminum)
Midnight (Aluminum)
(PRODUCT)RED (Aluminum)
Silver (Stainless Steel)
Graphite (Stainless Steel)
Gold (Stainless Steel)
Unfortunately, unlike its predecessor, the Apple Watch Series 8 isn’t available with a titanium casing. Apple has also discontinued the Blue and Green aluminum options for a new Silver one here. It is also WR50 certified, which means the Watch Series 8 can survive as deep as 50 meters underwater. This watch is also IP6X dust resistant.
Anyway, there’s no change in the display department this time. It’s got the same 1.61 or 1.77-inch curved Retina LTPO OLED screen with always-on display support. The aluminum variant gets an Ion-X glass display whereas the stainless steel models are protected by a tougher sapphire crystal glass. It can achieve 1000 nits of peak brightness as well.
Powering the Apple Watch Series 8 is the S8 chip. This dual-core processor is apparently 20% faster than the Apple S7 chip on the Watch Series 7. It also has the W3 wireless and the U1 ultra-wideband chip — the latter of which is missing on the cheaper Apple Watch SE (2nd generation).
One of the most notable upgrades you’d find on the Apple Watch Series 8 is its support for car crash detection. This hardware-enabled feature uses the built-in gyroscope, high dynamic range accelerometer, barometer, GPS, microphone, and Apple’s advanced sensor-fusion algorithm. And when the watch senses that you’ve been in a car crash, it can automatically notify the emergency services and your emergency contact with your current location info.
Apple Watch Series 8 runs on watchOS 9 out-of-the-box. It brings a handful of new features like international roaming, better sleep tracking with Sleep Stages, AFib history, a revamped Compass app, and the new Medications app. But all these features are available on older Apple Watches as well. More specifically, the Apple Watch Series 4 or newer models.
Say hello to the new temperature sensor
Among the few additions to the Apple Watch Series 8 is the new temperature sensor. There are actually two temperature sensors here — one on the back of the watch and one just underneath the display. With this, the watch can give a deeper insight into your sleep cycles by analyzing the overall body temperature throughout the night. According to Apple, it can detect temperature changes as low as 0.1°C.
Besides sleep, these temperature sensors also play a big role in curating and predicting women’s menstrual cycles. And with this, the Apple Watch Series 8 can also offer an estimate of when you likely ovulated. Apple confirms that all these data stay encrypted on your device although you can choose to share them with your healthcare provider.
Other than this, the Apple Watch Series 8 can take your ECG readings, blood oxygen, and stress levels too. In terms of fitness tracking, it can record everything from walking, running, swimming, cycling, squats, swimming, and also multisport workouts. That means the watch can automatically detect and switch between different kinds of workouts like running, biking, and swimming to help you prepare for triathlons. As always, Apple is also throwing in three months of Apple Fitness+ subscription on the purchase of any new Apple Watch.
Battery
Sadly, there’s no upgrade as far as battery life is concerned here. You can expect the same 18 hours of endurance on the Apple Watch Series 8, which Apple calls “all-day battery life”.
At least the watchOS 9 platform now enables the “Low Power” mode which can extend the battery life by double to 36 hours! But do note that enabling this mode disables always-on display, automatic workout detection, and a few alerts. And since it supports fast charging, the Watch Series 8 can fill up from 0 to 80% in just 45 minutes. Or 75 minutes for a full charge.
Battery: Up to 18 hours (or 36 hours under Low Power mode)
Charging: USB-C fast magnetic charging cable
Apple Watch Series 8 Price in Nepal and Availability
With the latest price drop, you can take home the 41mm Apple Watch Series 8 for Rs. 64,999 against its previous market price of Rs. 67,999. The price of the 45mm variant now costs you even cheaper at Rs. 57,899 from its previous price tag of Rs. 71,999. These watches have aluminum cases with a Sport Band and don’t have cellular connectivity. You can buy the Apple Watch Series 8 in Nepal from authorized stores like Hukut.
Xiaomi is reportedly considering shutting down its bootloader unlock program for global smartphones. This change would limit users’ ability to unlock their bootloaders through official channels. The information comes from a tip shared by @chunvn8888 on X (formerly Twitter), though Xiaomi has made no official confirmation. In this article, we will discuss rumors about the Xiaomi Bootloader Shutdown news.
Xiaomi Bootloader Shutdown Rumors
Bootloader Unlocking
Currently, unlocking the bootloader allows users to install custom ROMs, which offers a near-stock Android experience. It also provides developers with root access to customize and modify their devices. However, with the reported shutdown of the unlock program, this access may soon become unavailable for international Xiaomi devices.
Changes in China
Xiaomi has already applied these restrictions to its devices in China. The bootloader for Chinese models can no longer be unlocked, following the company’s recent policy changes. If this extends globally, users will face more challenges when trying to unlock their devices, especially developers who rely on root access for advanced customization.
Xiaomi’s new HyperOS system does provides a more refined experience compared to its previous MIUI interface. According to the tipster, these changes could take effect as early as next year, possibly with the release of HyperOS 2.0.

2021’s Beats Studio Buds also finds its way on our list of best wireless earbuds in Nepal. As we all know, Apple acquired Beats in 2014 for $3 billion. But Studio Buds is an Android-focused pair of wireless earbuds rather than something that’s designed to fit into the Apple ecosystem. Of course, for the latter, there is the widely popular “AirPods” lineup instead.
Anyway, Beats Studio Buds has an in-ear design and quite a peculiar shape. It’s one of the few earbuds in the list that offers a clickable button on either earbud to control music playback and volume levels. While such physical buttons on a pair of premium mid-range earphones feel a little strange, they are fairly precise and work well.
As for the audio quality, it has an 8.2mm dual-element diaphragm that favors bass rather than mids and highs. Still, the mids and highs sound decent too. It supports ANC as well which filters ambient noise, but not completely. There’s also a transparency mode that is ideal for hearing noises in your surroundings. Beats Studio Buds offers a battery life of up to 4.5 hours with ANC on.
Next up is the Anker Soundcore Liberty 4. These are the company’s flagship pair of wireless earbuds with almost all the premium features you could expect. It is energized with an ACAA™️ coaxial dynamic driver with support for spatial audio. You get Hi-Res streaming, as it supports LDAC codec besides the standard AAC and SBC.
Liberty 4 also features a personalized “HearID Sound” feature that analyzes in-ear pressure and noise moves for a custom noise canceling (ANC) and audio experience. Likewise, the buds can track your heart rate as well.
It is also among the very few entries on our list of best wireless earbuds in Nepal that support multipoint connectivity. That means you can pair the Liberty 4 with two Bluetooth devices at the same time, and switch between them seamlessly. These earbuds have an incredible 9 hours of battery life with ANC off—or 2 hours more with noise cancellation turned off.
We have the Nothing Ear in our best wireless earbuds list. Boasting an identical design to its predecessor, it brings the 11 mm dynamic drivers. You get LHDC 5.0 support for 24-bit Hi-Res audio and customized sound profiles as well.
Likewise, the earbuds offer a 45dB of ANC and transparent mode for ambient sound. As for the connectivity, it pairs with your smartphone using Bluetooth 5.3, Google Fast Pair (for Android), and Microsoft Swift Pair (for Windows) devices. The TWS is rated for 8.5 hours of music playback while the charging case gets 2.5W Qi wireless charging support as well.
Nothing Ear Specifications:
Driver: 11 mm dynamic drivers
Audio codecs: AAC, SBC, LHDC 5.0, LDAC
Connectivity: Bluetooth 5.3
Controls: Press contact
Music time:
ANC off: 6.3 hours, 36 hours (with case)
ANC on: 4 hours, 22.5 hours (with case)
Charging time: 1.25 hours (USB-C)
IP rating: Yes, IP54 for buds and IP55 for case
Noise-canceling: Up to 40dB (personalized, adaptive ANC)
Samsung introduced the Galaxy Buds3 in Nepal, bringing a fresh design and enhanced features. These new earbuds adopt a cuboid stemmed design with a semi-in-ear fitting, optimizing sound output based on the user’s ear shape and wearing habits. The transparent-lid charging case features an “Open-type” design, and the buds are IP57-rated for durability. Available in Silver and White, they offer a sleek and practical design for everyday use.
The Galaxy Buds3 comes with 11mm dynamic speakers, providing high-quality sound, and three microphones on each bud for noise cancellation and call clarity. While they lack Ambient mode, the buds support Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and Samsung’s Seamless Codec for 24bit/96kHz audio. They also feature 360 Audio when paired with select Samsung devices, delivering an immersive experience. Integration with Galaxy AI enhances ANC, and equalizer settings, and introduces features like an interpreter tool for real-time translation.
These earbuds use Bluetooth v5.4 and pack a 48mAh battery in each bud and a 515mAh battery in the case. Users can enjoy up to 6 hours of playtime (30 hours with the case) without ANC, and 5 hours (24 hours with the case) with ANC on. The buds support both USB Type-C and wireless charging and come equipped with touch and voice controls, Auto Switch for multi-device pairing, Auracast, and Samsung Find integration.
Huawei launched the FreeBuds 5 TWS earbuds in Nepal this Dashain, boasting a unique curved design inspired by “Rupert’s Tears.” These semi-in-ear earbuds have a fatter stem and a water droplet-shaped earpiece, providing an ergonomic fit with an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance. Available in Ceramic White, Coral Orange, and Frost Silver, the earbuds weigh just 5.4 grams.
In terms of audio, the FreeBuds 5 houses 11mm drivers and features a dual magnetic circuit architecture for enhanced bass. They support L2HC and LDAC codecs, hybrid active noise cancellation, and spatial audio modes for an immersive experience. With Bluetooth 5.2, the earbuds offer multi-device connection, low latency mode, and touch controls. The 42mAh battery in each earbud delivers up to 5 hours of playback, with fast charging providing 3.5 hours in just 20 minutes.

Drivers: 11 mm
IP rating: Yes, IP54 (Earbuds only)
Connectivity: Bluetooth 5.2 (multi-device connection)
Audio: Triple-microphone, hybrid active noise cancellation
Most earbuds on our list of best wireless earbuds in Nepal target casual listeners or audiophiles, but the Beats Fit Pro goes a step beyond that. This Apple-owned brand has designed Fit Pro specifically for athletes and fitness enthusiasts. One of the standout features, here, is the wingtip design. It keeps your earbuds from falling off your ears so these could be perfect for your gym/workout sessions. It even has tiny vents that the company claims will help relieve pressure.
Another highlight of the Beats Fit Pro is the H1 chip powering it. Because of this, users can seamlessly switch between multiple Apple products. It even supports “Audio Sharing” like the AirPods lineup.
Beats have fitted the Fit Pro with 9.5mm audio drivers with support for spatial audio. There is even support for automatic Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency modes. As for the battery, the company claims music playback of up to 24 hours with the charging case. It also has fast charging though wireless charging is missing here.
While every other TWS earbuds so far on our list of best wireless earbuds in Nepal are designed to work with both Android and iOS devices (some less than the others), if you’re in the Apple ecosystem, you should probably try out AirPods before everything else. The company also has a fairly diversified range of wireless earbuds—including the high-end Pro variant or the regular AirPods. And the 3rd generation AirPods might be perfect for those who don’t want to spend a whole lot on the Pro model.
This one also has an in-ear design with a much shorter stem than the 2nd gen AirPods. But unlike the AirPods Pro, you don’t get silicone ear tips here—which could actually be a good thing if you’re someone who isn’t comfortable with wearing those ear tips for long hours. It also offers Adaptive EQ that personalizes music according to your ear size.
Powering the AirPods (3rd Generation) is the Apple H1 chip which enables features like Spatial Audio. This head-tracking feature lets you enjoy 3D (three-dimensional) audio when watching movies, shows, and such. Unfortunately, these earbuds don’t support active noise cancellation and Apple has reserved that feature for the Pro lineup only. As for the battery, Apple says these AirPods can last for up to 6 hours at 100% charge.

Okay, the final entry on our list of best wireless earbuds in Nepal is Apple’s new 2nd Generation AirPods Pro. These guys build on the incredible legacy of the original AirPods Pro with some meaningful upgrades here and there. It is powered by the new H2 chip, which promises up to 2x better ANC performance. Now, we couldn’t quantify those claims in any way, but the AirPods Pro (2nd Generation) is really great at cutting out most of the ambient sound.
Likewise, Apple continues its dominance with how it implements the transparency mode as well. It sounds so natural that you’ll forget you have earbuds on in the first place. And this time, these earbuds also have something called “Adaptive Transparency Mode”. This basically drowns out any sudden ambient noise in real time to prevent your ears from particularly loud noises.
The audio side of things also gets some upgrades here. Its sound response is really balanced across all frequencies, so you’ll have a great time listening to all genres of music here. The call quality is equally impressive here and Apple has also upped the battery life on the 2nd Gen AirPods Pro. Unfortunately, it still uses a Lightning connector for charging—although you do have Qi and MagSafe wireless charging options. Oh, and the charging case also has a U1 ultra-wideband chip to help remotely locate it more easily.
Sony is incredibly famous for its audio products, and the newly launched WF-1000XM5 is easily among the best pair of wireless earbuds you could find. Compared to its predecessor—the Sony WF-1000XM4—it brings an identical design but it has got rid of the edges. It is now 25% smaller and 20% lighter as well.
To ensure a secure fit, Sony has also used foam ear tips this time; instead of regular silicone ear tips. And although I wouldn’t call these suitable for gyms or anything, Sony has included an IPX4 splash resistance on these earbuds. So it should easily survive against sweat or light water splashes.
As for the audio quality itself, the WF-1000XM5 features a new 8.4mm driver. It can even stream Hi-Res audio via Sony’s own LDAC codec, so if your ears can actually discern such high fidelity, you’re going to absolutely love these. Besides, the WF-1000XM5 also brings more effective ANC (while consuming less power) and up to 8 hours of playback with ANC.
Sony WF-1000XM5 Specifications:
Weight: 5.9 gm (buds) / 39 gm (case, without buds)

It is no secret that Xiaomi doesn’t just sell smartphones, it has an entire sub-brand called Mijia that focuses on home appliances alone. And under that very name, Xiaomi has started crowdfunding for an energy-efficient AC with an air outlet on the top. In this article, we will look at the Xiaomi Mijia Air Conditioner Natural Wind Pro and also talk about its potential price in Nepal.
Xiaomi Mijia Air Conditioner Wind Pro Overview
Design
This aircon is one pretty-looking home appliance, that will definitely pull some eyes. As I mentioned earlier, the Xiaomi Mijia Air Conditioner Wind Pro has an air exhaust on the top. Critics online have cited its resemblance to the Panasonic Sky series AC due to this design approach. While that may be true, the Chinese offering has a much cleaner look with a Star Satin Silver colouring. It also has a circular display on the side which shows things like temperature, and connection status.
The entire system consists of an outdoor condenser unit as well, which has the same metallic finish with a large Mijia logo slapped onto it.
Moving on to the features, the key highlight of the Xiaomi Mijia Air Conditioner Wind Pro is extremely energy efficient with a 5.65 APF value. The AC has a double-cylinder compressor and double-row condenser and outputs 830m³ air per hour. Its unconventional design with exhaust on the top apparently gives it the same qualities as a central AC, as per the company. Furthermore, they stress that you won’t have air uncomfortably blowing at your face and will be spread all across the room instead.
This aircon is quite smart too — it is equipped with a self-developed cloud-based algorithm. With this, the AC constantly learns about your usage habits and adapts accordingly. Moreover, its temperature is immaculate over an extended period of usage. The Xiaomi Mijia Air Conditioner Wind Pro understands the temperature and air quality of your environment. It then adjusts to the best setting based on the situation. Additionally, this AC offers ecosystem benefits as it can be connected to a network through dual-band WiFi. Then users can control it through the app on their smartphone or Xiao AI voice assistant. Lastly, this AC is capable of multi-step self-cleaning, where the outdoor unit utilises condensed water to flush away the dust.
Xiaomi Mijia Air Conditioner Wind Pro Price in Nepal and Availability
The air conditioner is open for crowdfunding, which will go on till 16 October 2024. The crowdfunding posting reveals that the product might start shipping at the end of the month. The company has set its maximum retail price at CNY 3,999, however, it will be available for buyers at CNY 3,499. Given that, we expect the Xiaomi Mijia Air Conditioner Wind Pro price to be NPR 92,199, if it ever arrives in Nepal.
OnePlus recently launched a bunch of products including the Nord 4, Pad 2, and Watch 2R. Along with the aforementioned products, they also launched new earbuds that come with all the necessary features. Which has gone official in Nepal. In this article, let’s delve deeper into the latest OnePlus Nord Buds 3 Pro while also discussing its official price in Nepal.
OnePlus Nord Buds 3 Pro Overview
Design and Audio
The OnePlus Nord Buds 3 Pro comes in an in-ear fit with a stem that sort of looks like a clapper of a bell. It has a slight cavity on the upper end of the stem, which is reserved for the capacitive touch sensor. Meanwhile, the charging case of these buds is perfectly ovular. It also has a two-tone finish with a glittery body and glossy lid. These buds are IP55-rated and are available in Starry Black and Soft Jade colour options.
For audio, the OnePlus Nord Buds 3 Pro packs a 12.4mm driver with titanium-coated diaphragms. The material choice apparently enhances the audio giving deeper bass and richer vocals. Apart from that, these buds are also equipped with two analogue and one digital microphone on each side. Coupled with the company’s Clear Call and anti-wind noise algorithms, they ensure disturbance-free phone calls. Moreover, OnePlus’ latest budget earbuds are capable of active noise cancellation of up to 49dB, that too with transparency mode.
Equipped with the latest Bluetooth v5.4, these earbuds ensure a smooth and stable connection with up to two devices at the same time. Additionally, they come with the Google Fast Pair feature allowing for instantaneous pairing with Android devices. If you are using a OnePlus phone together with the Nord Buds 3 Pro then you get to enjoy some of the ecosystem benefits. Otherwise, you can install the HeyMelody app to get access to additional functionalities. The app allows you to customise the audio setting or use the “Find My Earbuds” to help locate misplaced earbuds.
In terms of battery, these buds pack a 58mAh cell on each side. Likewise, the charging case comes with a 440mAh unit. By utilising them, the OnePlus Nord Buds 3 Pro is capable of offering 12 hours of playtime independently and up to 44 hours with the case. This is when used without the ANC turned on, of course. When you do turn on the noise cancellation, the battery life drops by over 50% to 5.5 hours and 20 hours respectively. After all the charge has been drained, the whole thing can get back up in just 80 minutes by plugging in through the USB Type-C port. Say, you don’t have that much time to spare, even 10 minutes of charge will be good to go for four hours.

Nothing Ear Overview
Design and Audio
Looking at the design, the latest Nothing Ear does not look much different from its predecessor. It ships in the standard two colour options i.e. Black, and White. The case of Nothing Ear also looks the same with a squircle shape and a circular depression on the lid. Meanwhile, you get an IP54 water resistance on the buds while the case has a slightly higher resistance of IP55.
The Nothing Ear relies on an 11mm dynamic driver on both the buds with ceramic diaphragm. Similarly, these earbuds come with proprietary tuning from the company. Each bud also packs three mics which coupled with Clear Voice Technology offers undisturbed phone calls. Additionally, it comes noise cancellation feature where you can manually adjust between three levels. Or, you could simply choose “Adaptive” mode and the earbuds will automatically do all ANC adjusting according to your surroundings.
Features
The latest Nothing earbuds come with a plethora of features. Starting with, in-ear detection. These buds can detect whether or not it’s inside a user’s ear and pause or play media based on that. Samsung Galaxy A06 launched in Nepal a little while ago. Now the company’s little more premium offering is buzzing as it is next in line for launch. Let’s look at all the information we know about the Samsung Galaxy A16 so far!
Samsung Galaxy A16 Rumours Round-up
Renders
The Samsung Galaxy A16 renders have leaked, and we can see that the 5G variant has liner patterns on the back, while the 4G-only one has a plain monotone finish.

Samsung Galaxy A15 4G

Performance
According to the listing, the Galaxy A16 5G will become two different chipsets for different regions. The Exynos 1330 will power the European one, while, the Dimensity 6300 will power the South Asian ones. Similarly, as for the A16 4G, we’ll see the same old Mediatek Helio G99. Both the phones will be paired with a memory starting at 4GB RAM and 256GB storage.
Now the renders have leaked, we can say there are virtually no changes on this phone aesthetically. Samsung is now fixated on its “Galaxy Design” for all of its offerings, so that’s what we are getting. The company introduced this “Key Island” thingy with the A15 and A25, which has now become a symbol of the A-series phone. This protrusion of buttons has stuck around this year as well.
Other than that, the listing suggests that these phones will come with a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen stretching FHD+ while offering a 90Hz refresh rate and 800 nits peak brightness. Lastly, doing what Samsung does best, it is pushing six whole years of updates on the Galaxy A16 as well. Under the hood, both of these versions will feature a 5000 mAh battery with a 25W charger.
Samsung Galaxy A16 Launch and Availability
It is still way too early to say anything about the Samsung Galaxy A16. However, we can expect it to launch near the end of 2024 as its predecessor did the same. Additionally, we will likely see it launch alongside the Samsung Galaxy A26.
Lava Agni 2 was met with a lot of fanfare and rightfully so. Now the Indian smartphone brand has launched its successor, which comes with some interesting features. In this article, we will look at the Lava Agni 3 in further detail, including its expected price in Nepal.
Lava Agni 3 Overview
Design and Displays
Lava Agni 3 continues to have well-received design aspects of its predecessors. It has curved frames and edges and ships in two shades of monotone colour options. The choices are named Pristine Glass, and Heather Glass, also hinting that it has the glass for its back panel.
This phone introduces a new design element in the price segment — the Action Key button, obviously inspired by the iPhone. Similar to the iPhone’s Action Button, users can use it as a camera shutter as well as a quick switch for various activities like video recording, turning on a flashlight, taking a screenshot, SOS, and opening third-party apps. It is also IP64-rated.
The Action Key is not the only thing that set the Lava Agni 3 apart from the crowd though! This phone also has a secondary display right next to its camera layout! Yes, it has a 1.74-inch “Agni InstaScreen” just like flip phones with similar functionalities too.
Similar to the digital pet introduced by Honor on the Magic V Flip, the Agni 3 brings a doggo called “Firey”. The mini-display in here is an AMOLED panel, just like the primary screen which is much larger at 6.78 inches. Moreover, it stretches 1.5K in resolution, offers a 120Hz refresh rate, and peaks at 1,200 nits of brightness.
Performance
For the performance, the Lava Agni 3 packs the MediaTek Dimensity 7300X under its helm. This processor is the same thing as the regular Dimensity 7300, albeit it is specifically targeted at devices with dual displays. That being said, the silicon has eight cores, comes in 4nm fabbing, and has a peak clock speed of 2.5GHz.
Other internal hardware on this phone includes 8GB LPDDR5 RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The Lava Agni 3 allows users to virtually extend the memory by another 8GB, however, there is no option for external storage expansion.
For power, it packs a 5,000 mAh battery with a 66W wired charging support. Furthermore, it has a nine-layer copper-plated heat dissipation module and a 5,000mm2 liquid vapour chamber to keep things cool and running smoothly.
Software-wise, you get clean, ad and bloatware-free Android 14, which is quite a sight at its price range. This phone also has “HyperEngine Technology” which supposedly provides a 20% improvement in FPS and energy efficiency during gaming than its predecessor.
The Lava Agni 3 comes with a triple camera setup on the back, led by a 50MP unit coupled with the Sony Quad-Bayer sensor with OIS capability. The auxiliary shooters on this phone include an ultrawide and a telephoto lens, both of 8MP resolution.
The former has a wide 112° field-of-view, while the latter offers 3x optical and 30x digital zoom along with electronic image stabilisation. Though the inclusion of a secondary display allows for selfies with the high-quality main camera, you could also use the 16MP snapper on the front. Other than that, its front camera is utilised as a face scanner with a fast unlock time of 0.55 seconds.
The connectivity aspect of this phone is solid too. It supports two SIM cards simultaneously and can operate in 14 different 5G network bands. This phone also has WiFi 6E, Bluetooth v5.4, and six-way navigation with A-GPS support for further wireless connectivity. There is no NFC though. And for wired connections, you get a single USB-C cable that works as an OTG as well as an audio jack.
Lava Agni 3 Specifications
Design: Monotone design with Action Key and Agni InstaScreen, IP64-rated
Battery: 5,000 mAh Lithium Polymer cell with 66W fast charging
Connectivity: Dual SIM, 5G, WiFi 6E, Hotspot, Bluetooth v5.4, USB Type-C
Colour Options: Pristine Glass, Heather Glass
