Honor unveils $10B Alpha Plan with Google cloud partnership for AI innovation

0

Honor has officially announced the “Alpha Plan,” a five-year roadmap aiming to establish itself as a global AI device ecosystem company. The company shared details of this initiative during its participation at the Google Cloud Next 2025 event in Las Vegas. This article will discuss everything about the latest Honor Alpha Plan, including its investment details, partnership goals, and upcoming AI features.

Honor Alpha Plan Overview

Investment and Timeline

Honor AI plan

Honor is investing $10 billion into the Alpha Plan over the next five years. The long-term objective is to become a top player in AI-driven device ecosystems globally.

Honor participated in the Google Cloud Next 2025 event to support its key partner, Google. The company also promoted a series of new AI features developed in collaboration with Google Cloud, aligning with the goals of the Alpha Plan.

New AI Features Introduced

AI Outpainting

Honor showcased AI Outpainting, a feature that extends and reframes photos using generative AI. The tool allows users to zoom out or rotate images and fills in blank areas with AI-generated content. This feature is powered by Google’s Imagen model and integrated into Honor’s AiMAGE suite. It can expand photos up to twice their original size and maintain consistency even in complex visual environments.

AI Eraser

Another feature presented was AI Eraser. It removes unwanted objects from photos and replaces them with contextually relevant content. This tool also uses Imagen’s inpainting model to generate realistic fill-ins after object removal.

AI Upscale

AI Upscale improves photo resolution using AI processing. It is already available on the newly launched Honor 400 Lite in Europe. The feature enhances image quality without requiring additional user input.

Vision and Future Plans

Honor’s leadership emphasized AI accessibility. Eric Fang, Senior Director of Product Planning, stated that “democratizing AI is at the core of our mission.” Looking ahead, Honor plans to integrate video generation using Google’s Veo model and introduce Gemini-powered productivity tools. These features will appear in devices launching next month. The company also confirmed its continued focus on co-developing both cloud-powered and on-device AI features in partnership with Google Cloud.

Samsung launches its new monster — the Galaxy M56 5G — featuring Exynos 1480

Samsung’s latest midrange smartphone, the Galaxy M56, has finally launched in India. And it comes as a slight rebrand of Galaxy A56 5G (review), but with a couple of changes here and there. So, let’s dive into the specifications, design, features, and expected price of the Samsung Galaxy M56 in Nepal in this article.

Samsung M56 Overview

Design and display

In terms of design, the Galaxy M56 continues Samsung’s clean and minimal aesthetics. The back panel has a matte finish with a subtle Samsung logo, while the camera layout consists of two prominent lenses inside pill-shaped cutouts, all arranged vertically at the top-left corner. The side frame has a metallic look with slight curves for comfort.

Measuring 7.2mm in thickness and weighing around 180 grams, the Galaxy M56 is slim and lightweight, keeping it in line with modern midrange design trends.

Samsung Galaxy M56 5G design

As for the display, the phone is equipped with a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED+ panel with Full HD+ resolution. Samsung has reportedly improved brightness by 33% compared to the Galaxy M55 (review), which means the M56 now has 1,300 nits of peak brightness. Starting at 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, the Galaxy M56 is powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 1480 chipset.  It has a similar capacity as compared to the D7400 & SD 7s Gen 3.  This is also the same chip we saw on last year’s Galaxy A55 (review), by the way.

For graphics, the Samsung Xclipse 530 GPU is expected to handle casual gaming and regular usage, though it may struggle with more demanding games on high settings.

Samsung Exynos 1480

The Galaxy M56 runs on Android 15 with Samsung’s One UI 7. Samsung has also highlighted a couple of AI-driven tools like “Object Eraser”, “Image Clipper”, and “Edit Suggestions”.

Lenovo Laptops Price in Nepal 2025 [Updated]

Lenovo has always been remembered for its sturdy build and reliable performance. They are popular among business professionals and enterprises. However, the company’s offering ranges from entry-level laptops to gaming beasts. In this post, we will look at all the Lenovo laptops available in Nepal, along with their specs, the latest price, and stores where you can buy them.

Lenovo Brand Overview

Widely recognized in the global PC market, Lenovo has built a strong following among those looking for reliable and diverse options in the laptops segment too. According to IDC, Lenovo was the top-selling PC manufacturer in 2023, with a large portion of its shipments being laptops. This includes everything from desktops and workstations to all-in-ones, but it’s the laptops that truly stand out.

Whether you’re a student, professional, or gamer, Lenovo has something for everyone. From the budget-friendly IdeaPad to the business-oriented ThinkPad and the gaming-focused Legion series, there’s a laptop for every need. Luckily, consumers in Nepal have access to a broad selection of Lenovo laptops, and the pricing is competitive too.

Need something simple for everyday use? The IdeaPad has you covered. But if you’re after something with a bit more muscle—maybe for gaming or heavy-duty work—the Legion series is a solid choice. And if you’re into something flexible and innovative, the Yoga series, with its 2-in-1 design, is available in Nepal as well.

Where to buy Lenovo Laptops in Nepal?

Megatech Trade Group is the official distributor of Lenovo in Nepal. You can visit their showroom in Durbar Marg or follow the Google Maps link here. One incentive for visiting the showroom is getting laptops at the showroom’s offer price. However, it is not the only place to offer Lenovo laptops. Places like Hukut also sell Lenovo laptops unofficially through their physical and online stores.

One more thing. For this list, we won’t include the older 10th and 11th gen Intel CPU-powered laptops since they’re dated for the time, and you’re better off with the newer 12th and 13th gen CPUs instead. Okay, with that out of the way, let’s dive into our list of all the available Lenovo laptops in Nepal with their key specs and latest prices.

Each year Lenovo updates this laptop with the latest gaming components from Intel, AMD, and NVIDIA. The Intel variant features an “i” suffix that differentiates it from the AMD version. At CES 2023, Lenovo announced the new Pro 5 series with a dedicated AI chip for game stability to replace the Legion 5.
  • Legion 7 / Pro 7 Series: The Legion Pro 7 is currently the most advanced and premium gaming laptop in Lenovo’s portfolio. Like the Pro 5 lineup, it also features an in-house AI chip, albeit a better one. Prior to 2023, the Legion Pro 7 used to go by the Legion 7 moniker.

Our Top Picks

The All-Rounder Budget Gamer: LOQ 15

Despite being Lenovo’s budget gaming option, the LOQ lineup has proved itself time and again to be a commendable all-rounder. While options from other brands like HP and Asus compromise on one aspect or another, like the display or build quality, Lenovo’s LOQ nearly ticks all of the fundamental boxes. Besides competitive specs at a similar price bracket, it features a minimalist design, a durable chassis, and a colorful, bright screen. Our pick for an entry-level rig is the LOQ 15 with Intel’s Core i5 12450HX and RTX 3050 (6GB) for around that Rs. 110k mark.

Get this ultrabook for 80k: ThinkBook 13s

Of course, not everyone wants a bulky gaming laptop no matter the performance it might push, so for most folks, we suggest the ThinkBook 13s ultrabook for college and office use. It’s a super compact ultrabook weighing less than 1.3 kg with a 13.3″ WUXGA screen. The IPS panel has good colors (100% sRGB), gets properly bright (~300 nits), and has a taller 16:10 aspect ratio for seeing a bit more of the screen. The Ryzen 6600U is also plenty capable for an everyday casual device with good efficiency to boot. Moreover, the overall build and feel of this device is premium for the price too. So, if you are searching for a good budget notebook, this ThinkBook 13s might be a great pick.

It’s got a step ask upwards of 5 lakh rupees but given the price, it’s got practically everything you could want out of a gaming laptop. Be it a super fast and crisp 240Hz WQXGA screen or an ample amount of memory (32GB DDR5, 1TB SSD), everything is decked out here. The CPU is a 14th Gen Raptor Lake refresh chipset and the RTX 4090 is the top-of-the-line mobile GPU running at up to 175W with 16GB of VRAM. This new Honor phone has a monstrous 8,000 mAh battery!

0

Honor has announced the launch of the first device in its latest “Power” series, and it’s got a name that lives up to the hype. This smartphone is all about battery life, boasting a gigantic 8000mAh battery. Therefore, in this article, let’s dive into the specs, looks, features, and expected price of the Honor Power in Nepal.

Honor Power Overview

Battery

As mentioned before, the standout feature of the Honor Power is its 8,000mAh silicon-carbon battery. Making it one of the largest battery capacities in a mainstream smartphone to date. For context, this is twice the size of the Galaxy S25’s 4,000mAh unit, and it’s also larger than the OnePlus 13’s 6,000mAh battery.

Honor even compares its capacity in watt-hours (29.6 Wh) to the 11″ iPad Air (28.93 Wh), which highlights just how much power this device can store.

According to Honor, the phone can deliver up to 25 hours of video playback, 23.1 hours of short video viewing, 23.5 hours of navigation, and 14 hours of gaming on a full charge. The company also claims the battery is rated for 1,000 charge cycles before it drops to 80% of its original capacity, which theoretically translates to around six years of typical usage.

In terms of charging, the Honor Power supports 66W wired fast charging, with the company claiming a full charge in 68 minutes, though this estimate is based on charging the phone from 3% to 100%. There is also support for 5W reverse wired charging.

Design and Display

As for design, the Honor Power maintains a sleek and elegant look despite its massive battery. With a thickness of 7.98 mm and weighing around 209 grams, it’s actually slimmer and lighter than the Galaxy S25 Ultra (review), which measures 8.2 mm thick and weighs 218 grams. Also, the glossy back panel, paired with subtle Honor branding at the bottom, gives it a modern and polished appearance.

Honor Power design

Honor also says this phone has a “360° full body waterproof” build, although there’s no mention of any sort of IP rating.

As for the display, it features a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with 1 billion colors and a resolution of 1224 x 2700 pixels. It also supports HDR, a 120Hz refresh rate, and 4,000 nits of local peak brightness (HDR).
