Xiaomi launches FlipBuds Pro TWS earbuds with active noise cancellation

Xiaomi offers a wide variety of IoT products including wireless earbuds. The company has expanded its portfolio of TWS earbuds with the launch of the FlipBuds series in China. FlipBuds Pro is the first model in this lineup. So, let’s look at the all features and specs of Xiaomi FlipBuds Pro alongside its expected price in Nepal.

Xiaomi FlipBuds Pro Overview:

Design

Starting with the design, FlipBuds Pro gets its inspiration from Apple’s AirPods Pro. Although the product as a whole is not comparable, the typical short stem shape with a curved body is identical to Apple’s alternative.

This high-gloss all-black body sets it apart from the competition. Furthermore, the charging case is more rounded here. According to Xiaomi, the premium appearance is due to the nano NCVM coating.

Audio

In terms of sound, these buds include Qualcomm’s QCC5151 audio chip. It boasts 11mm ultra dynamic sound drivers and these ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) enabled TWS earbuds come with Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity. Xiaomi says that low-latency activities such as gaming should be no problem for its new earbuds.

Xiaomi FlipBuds Pro Buds Charging Case

A long press on either earbud will switch between transparency and noise-canceling modes, a single press will play/pause music or accept calls, and a double press will skip the currently playing track or reject calls.

Xiaomi promises 5 hours of battery life with ANC enabled and 7 hours without it. Similarly, the charging case can provide up to 28 hours of entertainment. Furthermore, FlipBuds Pro also supports fast charging, giving you 2 hours of playback in just 5 minutes.

Three-modes Noise Cancellation

Xiaomi promises an incredible level of noise cancellation on the FlipBuds Pro. By the way, it is the company’s first TWS earbuds with ANC. It has three ANC modes and can filter up to 40 decibels of noise.

Depending on your ambient setting, one can choose between daily, office, and travel noise cancellation modes. To trigger them, go to the MIUI pop-up settings menu (on Xiaomi phones) or the XiaoAI app (on other Android phones).

  • Chip: Qualcomm’s QCC5151

Asus has kept motorized cameras alive with the ZenFone 8 Flip

0

Alongside ZenFone 8, Asus launched the ZenFone 8 Flip with its iconic rotating camera module. It shares some specifications with the ZenFone 8 and some with the ZenFone 7. So, let’s take a look at the specifications, features, and expected price of the Asus ZenFone 8 Flip in Nepal.

Asus ZenFone 8 Flip Overview:

Design and Display

ZenFone 8 Flip features a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. It boasts a 92% screen-to-body ratio thanks to the clean-cut layout void of any notch or punch-hole cutout. Similarly, this display has HDR10+ certification and can reach a peak brightness of 1000 nits. For protection, Asus has used Gorilla Glass 6 on the front. The screen houses an in-display fingerprint sensor as well.

Asus Zenfone Flip 8 Display Design

Moving on to the device’s dimensions, it has a thickness of 9.6mm and weighs about 230 grams. So, it’s a little thick and cumbersome phone. Furthermore, ZenFone 8 Flip has an aluminum frame with a mirrored rim.

Performance

Like the standard ZenFone 8, it is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888, a 5nm flagship smartphone chipset. Furthermore, it packs a bigger 5,000mAh battery with 30W wired charging, 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and 256GB of UFS3.1 storage. However, it does not have an IP rating. On the software front, it is driven by Android 11 with ZenUI 8 on top.

Camera

The main draw of ZenFone 8 Flip, of course, is its rotating camera array. However, it borrows the ZenFone 7’s identical triple-camera configuration. This includes a 64MP f/1.8 Sony IMX686 primary sensor, a 12MP f/2.2 Sony IMX363 ultra-wide lens, and an 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.

Because of the motorized mechanism of these cameras, the ZenFone 8 Flip doesn’t have a dedicated front-facing camera. It’s a cool concept to be able to use the rear camera scope for selfies because it allows for better selfies and other fun camera modes.

Rest of the specs

Moving on, the ZenFone 8 Flip has stereo speakers with Dirac HD sound technology. It has also integrated Wi-Fi 6E technology, although it is only available in the United States. Other regions get Wi-Fi 6 instead. Furthermore, an Asus ZenEar Pro headset is included in the pack, which is quite rare these days.

Asus ZenFone 8 Flip Specifications:

  • Body: Glass body, aluminum frame, 165.04 x 77.28 x 9.6 mm, 230g
  • Display: 6.67-inch Samsung AMOLED Panel, Corning Gorilla Glass 6, 20:9 ratio, 90Hz, Up to 1000 nits, Delta-E < 1, HDR10+, 100% DCI-P3, 105% NTSC color

Also, Infinix has bid farewell to the gimmicky AI lens. Other lenses in this quad-camera setup include a 2MP monochrome and a 2MP portrait sensor. For selfies, there is a 16MP front-facing camera.

Rest of the specs

Infinix Note 10 Pro comes with a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. It is also TÜV Rheinland Safe Fast Charging certified. Intel finally unveils 11th-gen Tiger Lake-H processors for high-end gaming laptops

When Intel launched its 11th-gen H35 processors back in CES 2021, it wasn’t exactly the powerhouse everyone was hoping for. With a TDP of just 35W, these CPUs attempted to balance portability and performance—while introducing a new class of lightweight gaming laptops. Thankfully, Intel also teased high-TDP mobile gaming processors during the same event which have finally seen the light of day. So, let’s take a look at the new Intel 11th-gen Tiger Lake-H mobile CPUs for high-end gaming laptops.

Intel 11th-gen Tiger Lake-H mobile processors:

There are a total of five CPUs in the Tiger Lake-H lineup starting with the Core i5-11260H. All of them are based on Intel’s 10nm SuperFin Willow Cove architecture. The new Willow Cove Core brings a lot of improvements over its predecessor. There are eight cores on each die.

Likewise, they bring 20 PCIe 4.0 lanes to connect graphics cards and storage—contrary to how AMD still went with PCIe Gen 3 in its latest Ryzen 5000 mobile processors. Anyway, based on the configuration of the lanes, some even support bootable SSD RAID 0. Furthermore, it comes with integrated Xe-LP graphics, AV1 decoding, and Thunderbolt 4 controllers built-in.

Intel 11th Gen Tiger Lake Platform

The processors have a standard rating of 45W whereas there is a 35W option for each processor except the top-of-the-line Core i9-11980HK. All these CPUs have at least 6 cores and they also support Hyper-Threading.

Core i9-11980HK

The most premium offering in the lineup is the Core i9-11980HK. Its base clock frequency is listed at 2.6GHz and 3.3GHz for the 45W and 65W, respectively. It can be boosted up to 4.5GHz on all cores. Similarly, it has a 4 Core turbo speed of 4.9GHz. In addition, it also supports Turbo Boost Max 3.0 that allows can boost the select two cores to up to 5.0GHz.

The Xe graphics integrated into the chip features up to 32 execution units with a max frequency of 1450 MHz (base frequency @ 350MHz). The GPU specs are uniform over the lineup except for the entry-level Core i5-11260H that has a maximum frequency of just 1400MHz. The highlight here is that i9-11980HK is the only unlocked chip in the Tiger Lake-H lineup. Users can overclock it using Intel Extreme Tuning Utility (XTU).

vPro Platform

Intel has also announced its commercial lineup of Tiger Lake-H processors to be used in enterprise setups. Their specs are somewhat similar to that of the consumer-level SKUs but they are based on the vPro platform. The vPro platform comes with additional features for security, productivity, device management, and stability. The Core-H CPUs are meant for high-performance business laptops while the W-11000 processors are for mobile workstations.

Poll: Which is the best ISP (Internet Service Provider) in Nepal?

0

Over the last decade, Nepal’s internet infrastructure has grown significantly. Yet, the perpetual bitter truth here is that people with internet connections in their home/office are dissatisfied with their ISP (Internet Service Provider), no matter which one it is. So with this poll, we want to know which ISP in Nepal do you think is the best.

Poll: Best ISP in Nepal

We know that Worldlink is the largest ISP in Nepal (based on the total number of subscribers). And the company is continuously expanding its services in collaboration with different international brands. Worldlink has installed hotspots in over 10,000 locations throughout Nepal and hopes to take that number to 30,000 in total.

On the contrary, Vianet managed to grab the headlines recently with its 100 Mbps internet package. That too at the same price as its existing plans.

Subisu and Classic Tech are two other major players in the Nepali ISP market. While the former grew its customer base and rose to become Nepal’s second-largest ISP, the latter is known for its competitive pricing. Classic Tech has matched Vianet in adding 100 Mbps broadband to its home plane, while Subisu customers can enjoy speeds of up to 60 Mbps.

On the other hand, Nepal Telecommunications’ Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) service has done well; gaining over 60,000 subscribers in the last ten months of lockdown. With this, NTC has risen healthily among Nepal’s best performing FTTH service providers.

Altogether, we have 40 ISPs providing their service in Nepal, with some meeting the needs of their subscribers and the others failing to do so. So, vote in our poll to select your pick for the best ISP in Nepal.

Amidst the ongoing lockdown, Smart Talk Pvt. Ltd. has launched OnePlus 9 in Nepal. It is one of the authorized distributors of OnePlus smartphones in the country. In this post, we will be taking a look at the specs, features, official price, and availability of the OnePlus 9 in Nepal.

OnePlus 9 Overview:

Design and Display

Starting with the display, the OnePlus 9 sports a 6.55-inch FHD+ flat AMOLED panel. It is a 120Hz refresh rate screen but it’s not an adaptive one as in the Pro model. Other than that, the display features a left-aligned punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera.

At the back, we get a re-designed camera bump complete with the Hasselblad branding. It is home to the triple camera setup. Also, the frame is made from polymer instead of aluminum. The phone is available in three color options – Stellar Black, Arctic Sky, and Winter Mist. Both the front and the back of the OnePlus 9 are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

Performance and Memory

Like the Pro model, the vanilla OnePlus 9 is powered by the latest Snapdragon 888 chipset. The phone is available with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. You also get the new Cool Play cooling mechanism.

It will ship with ColorOS 11 in the Chinese market. However, it will retain the beloved OxygenOS 11 (based on Android 11) for the global market.

Cameras

The triple camera setup at the back consists of a 48MP Sony IMX689 sensor which comes with DOL HDR. Users can record 4K videos at 120fps. Similarly, 8K videos are capped at 30 fps. Accompanying the primary sensor is a 50MP Sony IMX766 ultrawide camera. It uses a freeform lens that reduces the distortion from 20% to just 1%.

Thus, OnePlus is claiming that it will “practically eliminate edge distortion” that has been common with ultrawide cameras in smartphones. Completing the triple camera setup is a 2MP monochrome sensor.

Battery and Connectivity

OnePlus 9 comes with the same 4,500mAh battery that is in the Pro model. It also retains the 65W fast charging technology, while supporting wireless charging as well.
