POCO Mobile Price in Nepal 2025 [Updated]

In this post, we have listed all of the POCO mobiles that you can currently buy in Nepal with their specs, features, and official price. Recently, the company has revised the prices of a few of its models because of the increase in excise duty.

POCO’s debut in Nepal

POCO is a name that is very popular with smartphone enthusiasts. The company came into the limelight with the introduction of the POCO F1. POCO has released a handful of smartphones since then. Though none of them have been as promising as the F1, POCO still remains the first choice for many users looking for phones because of its aggressive pricing.

If we look at the budget and mid-range segment of the Nepali smartphone market, Xiaomi has made a name for itself because of its aggressive pricing strategy. As of now, it has made devices from the budget Redmi and flagship Mi lineups for the Nepali audience. It even brought the POCO F1 to Nepal when POCO was a sub-brand of Xiaomi. Since the spun-off of POCO as an independent in India, there has been confusion among fans if they see the brand again in Nepal.

POCO officially returned to the Nepalese smartphone industry in 2020 with two phones: POCO C3 and POCO M2. And a few weeks later, POCO X3 debuted in the country as well. Regardless of the spin-off, it seems like Xiaomi and POCO will be under the same leadership here in Nepal. That also means the distribution of POCO smartphones in Nepal will be handled by Vatsal Impex and Teletalk. In terms of their price, all the POCO mobiles that are available today in Nepal are fairly competitive.

Best Gaming Phones in Nepal [Updated 2025]

Mobile gaming has seen explosive growth in Nepal, driven by advancements in smartphone technology and an expanding library of high-quality games like Genshin Impact and PubG. Whether you’re into action-packed shooters, strategy games, or immersive RPGs, having the right gaming phone significantly enhances your gaming experience. In this article, we will discuss more about the best gaming phone available and their price in Nepal.

Mobile Gaming Overview

Samsung Galaxy S24 PubG

Mobile gaming has become huge thanks to games like Genshin Impact, PUBG, and Call of Duty (COD). It’s popular because you can play on your phone wherever you go. Competitive gaming, known as esports, is a big part of it now, with tournaments and players showing off their skills. PubG has become extremely popular over the years, resulting in the emergence of gamers all over Nepal. Recently, we had organized a PubG tournament named as Gadgetbyte Nepal Championship, where Horaa Esports came out victorious.

Key Features to Consider

Processor Performance:

The cornerstone of any gaming phone is its processor. In Nepal, flagship devices equipped with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 series (e.g., Samsung S24 Ultra, Xiaomi 14, iQOO 12, OnePlus 12) or MediaTek Dimensity 9300 (e.g., Vivo X100 Pro, Oppo Find X7 Ultra) deliver unparalleled gaming performance. Apple’s A17 Pro in the iPhone 15 Pro Max also stands out for its gaming capabilities. These processors ensure smooth gameplay and handle graphically intensive tasks with ease.

Display Quality:

A high-quality display enhances your gaming visuals. While mid-range gaming phones often feature AMOLED displays, flagship models may come equipped with LTPO panels that offer higher refresh rates and vibrant colors. Look for phones with refresh rates of at least 120Hz to ensure fluid motion and responsiveness during gameplay.

RAM and Storage:

Ample RAM and storage are crucial for gaming enthusiasts. Opt for phones with at least 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM to handle multitasking and ensure smooth gaming performance. Storage options typically range from 256GB to 512GB, with flagship phones featuring UFS 4.0 for faster data transfer speeds.

Cooling System:

Effective cooling is essential for maintaining peak performance during extended gaming sessions. Look for phones equipped with advanced cooling mechanisms that prevent overheating and ensure consistent performance over time.

Best Dedicated Gaming Phone ( Best Gaming Phone Under 50000)

Infinix GT 20 Pro

Infinix GT 20 Pro Rear Design

So a lot of flagship phones usually comes with flagship chipset, but doesn’t necessarily confers to have better gaming performance. As i said earlier, some phone might lack essential cooling system, or they might have not have great optimization for gaming. If you were to look in global landscape you will stumble across various dedicated gaming phone like the Redmagic 9 Pro or the Asus ROG 8 Pro. Poco X6 Pro left its magic with its affordability as an exceptional budget gaming device. However, these phones are not available in Nepal. So the only ‘dedicated’ gaming phone that can be purchased in Nepal is the Latest Infinix GT 20 Pro. The Infinix GT 20 Pro is equipped with Mediatek Dimensity 8200 Ultimate and is capable of exceptional performance while gaming.

The gaming test numbers came really good, not just the average fps, but the 99th percentile too. Mobile Legends runs incredibly smooth averaging at 118 fps, while playing Mech Arena at the highest graphics results in great stability as well. Even the temperature data is favorable in these games.

I can play PUBG at 120 fps on this thing!

Infinix has also rolled out April’s update enabling 120 fps mode in PUBG mobile. This is one of the first mid-range phones to receive this update and in fact, the Infinix GT 20 pro is the official Gaming Phone for PMSL, EMEA & CSA, which may be one of the reasons for the early update!

PUBG gameplay is smooth here averaging at 112 fps in the smooth+ 120 fps mode. Likewise, Genshin Impact runs at around 58 fps at high graphics and 60 fps settings. And as I said before, not just the average fps is impressive here, but the 99th percentile number is good too, which means the stability in games is superb.

Two cooling solutions

Infinix has also included 2 forms of cooling solutions here, the phone uses graphite sheets as well as vapor chamber cooling. While I tested the games, I found the cooling solution dissipating heat rather well here. The phone would get to almost 44°C in titles like Genshin Impact, but the performance and stability were unhindered, so I would say it did a pretty good job.

I also tried using the magnetic cooler that came in the PR package and was able to get even better temperature numbers. By the way, the cooler does not come included in the normal retail package, but users can choose to buy it separately in case they would like to have it.

Other gaming features

Besides, there are other gaming-specific features here, like “bypass charging” which does a good job of maintaining the thermals when you are playing games while plugged in. What it does is, it allows the device to drive power directly from the charger, bypassing the battery, which reduces the load on the battery resulting in less heat build-up.

Infinix GT 20 Pro: Specifications

  • Display: 6.78-inch AMOLED, 144Hz refresh rate
  • Resolution: FHD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels), 20:9 aspect ratio
  • Chipset: MediaTek Dimensity 8200 5G (4nm mobile platform)
  • Memory: 8/12GB RAM, 256GB storage (expandable)

Best Gaming Phone Under 1 lakh

Xiaomi 14

Xiaomi 14 Rear Design

Xiaomi 14 is one of the best gaming phones you can buy under 1 lakh rupees. It comes equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, resulting in flawless gaming performance. This phone has a smaller chassis, so I was really interested to see if it could handle all the power of the 8 Gen 3. And for the most part, it does. It controlled the temperatures very well while gaming. I tested Genshin Impact and PUBG for around 30 minutes each and the phone didn’t go above 41 degrees, so that’s nice. You can run PubG at 90 fps and Gensing impact at almost 60 fps without any hiccups. Moreover, Xiaomi says they have included something called an Ice Loop vapor chamber system, that has 3 times the thermal efficiency to that of normal Vapor Chamber cooling solutions, so gaming can be so much fun just under 1 lakh rupees.

Xiaomi 14 Specifications:

  • Display: 6.36-inches LTPO OLED panel, 120Hz refresh rate, 3000nits peak brightness, HDR 10+, Dolby Vision, HLG, Gorilla Glass Victus
  • Resolution: 1.5K (2772 x 1240 pixels)

OnePlus 12R

OnePlus 12R Design

The OnePlus 12R is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, paired with either 8 or 16GB of RAM and 128 or 256GB of storage. With last year’s flagship chip, the 12R delivers excellent gaming performance, rivaling the newer Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in everyday use. My gaming tests showed similar results between the OnePlus 12 and the 12R, with both handling Genshin Impact at the highest graphics with a near 60 fps average. However, the 12R did experience minor frame drops when playing PUBG Mobile at 90 fps. Both phones feature an identical vapor chamber cooling system, resulting in almost identical temperature data.

While the more expensive OnePlus 12 offers additional gaming features like “Hyper Resolution” and “Adaptive Frame Boost,” these enhancements are not yet widely supported by popular titles. Despite this, the OnePlus 12R remains a compelling choice for gamers. Priced at NPR 90,999, it is considered overpriced in Nepal, but it still offers impressive performance for its availability in the region.

Samsung Galaxy A15 5G

Galaxy A15 5G

Samsung Galaxy A15 5G is not exactly a gaming phone, but it does it job with the Dimensity 6100 chipset it comes with. Other than that, it has pretty solid battery performance and doesn’t have that much of overheating issues. With an AMOLED display and decent speakers at its wing, the Samsung Galaxy A15 5G is probably the best budget gaming phone you can find in Nepal.

DeepSeek V3 open source AI surpasses GPT 4 and Claude 3.5 !

0

The AI landscape is largely dominated by a few main players spanning OpenAI, Anthropic, and Alphabet with their LLM models. GPT 4 and Claude 3.5 are some of the most popular models out there but what if I told you, there’s an open-source model that beats both? An interesting proposal right? Well, DeepSeek V3 does just that and plenty more, let’s explore.

DeepSeek V3 AI features an overview

DeepSeek proudly claims the crown over GPT 4 and Claude 3.5 evident by the fact that it’s one of the first things you see on their site.

General knowledge

When it comes to general knowledge, DeepSeek V3 seems to be competing well scoring 88.5 on the MMLU test (a major benchmark for general knowledge), it’s neck-and-neck with GPT-4 (87.2) and just slightly behind Claude 3.5 (88.3).

Complex problem solving

DeepSeek V3 shines in complex question answering. On the DROP test (which evaluates reading comprehension and reasoning), it scored an impressive 91.6, leaving both GPT-4 and Claude 3.5 in the dust.

deepseek benchmark score

Debugging like a pro

When it comes to coding, DeepSeek V3 flexes its muscles. With a score of 82.6 on HumanEval (a coding test), it outperforms many of its competitors. Not just theoretical problems, DeepSeek V3 also nails real-world software engineering tasks, scoring 42.0 on the SWE Verified test.

Mathematics

Mathematics is another area where DeepSeek V3 shows its strength. With a score of 90.2 on MATH-500, it’s far ahead of GPT-4 (74.6) and Claude 3.5 (78.3). If GPT-4 and Claude 3.5 are still doing long division, DeepSeek V3 is already solving integrals in its head.

Chinese language tasks

DeepSeek V3 also excels in language tasks, especially in Chinese. Scoring 86.5 on C-Eval (a Chinese language benchmark), it beats GPT-4 (76.0) and Claude 3.5 (76.7).

deepseek AI

So, what does all this mean? DeepSeek V3 is coming out of the gate strong, and it’s clear it’s not just here to compete but to challenge the top heroes in the AI race. In a market where it’s easy to be overshadowed by giants like GPT-4 and Claude 3.5, DeepSeek V3 is making a name for itself as the underdog with serious potential.

That being said, I want you to keep in mind that there are a lot of other AI tools like O3 (the latest from OpenAI) and Gemini 2.0 (the latest from Google) that outshine DeepSeek V3 in various standards like speed and problem-solving. So this AI tool might not be ON THE TOP OF THE LIST but it’s definitely one of the best open-source alternatives out there!

Vivo is launching an affordable sub-brand ‘Jovi’ soon

Vivo is preparing to expand its brand by introducing a sub-brand Jovi. This series is aimed at offering affordable entry-level smartphones with the first being the expected Jovi Y39 5G. With this, Vivo will operate two different subbrands: ‘Jovi’ and ‘IQOO’ all while continuing to sell under its own name as well.

Jovi Y39 5G Overview

Recently, a new device with the model number V2444A appeared on Geekbench, and it’s expected to be the Jovi Y39 5G. This phone is likely to come as a successor to the Vivo Y38 5G and will feature 5G connectivity. The Geekbench listing reveals that the device achieved a single-core score of 912 and a multi-core score of 2,214.

What we know so far

The listing provides some key details about the phone’s specifications. The expected Jovi Y39 5G will feature an octa-core processor with a maximum clock speed of 2.21GHz, likely the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2.

Snapdragon 4 Gen 2

The device is also equipped with an Adreno 613 GPU. The tested unit features 8GB of RAM and runs on Android 15.

Given that this phone is likely going to be a successor to Vivo Y38 5G we can speculate some additional features beforehand. In terms of battery life, the Jovi Y39 5G could come with a 6,000mAh battery, supporting 44W wired charging. The display is expected to be a 6.68-inch LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the camera setup might include a 50MP main sensor and an 8MP front-facing camera.

While there is no official announcement about this smartphone, we expect more details to appear soon. Stay tuned for further updates!

iPhone 15 Pro Max Price in Nepal 2025 [Updated]

0

Apple unveiled its latest iPhone 15 models in Nepal back in October of 2023. And now they have seen a sweet price cut (again) including the top-tier iPhone 15 Pro Max. So, let’s talk about the features, specifications, and official price in Nepal of the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

iPhone 15 Pro Max Overview

Build and Display

The 15 Pro Max is the first iPhone to feature a titanium build. This not only makes it stronger but lighter too. As such, the largest iPhone of 2023 only weighs 221 grams, an 8% reduction compared to the 14 Pro Max’s 240 grams. All iPhones this year, including the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, have slightly curved edges and IP68 dust and water protection.

But one thing unique to the Pro models this time is the new “Action Button”. It replaces the iconic alert switch, and you can even reprogram this button to launch a bunch of shortcuts now.

iPhone 15 Pro Max Camera

Moving on, the display seems untouched though and the Dynamic Island doesn’t see any changes either. It is a 6.7-inch “Super Retina XDR” OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 2,000 nits of peak brightness, 2796 x 1290 resolution, and a pixel density of 460 ppi. It’s got the same “Ceramic Shield” display protection too.

Apple has also used an LTPO backplane here, which can bring down the refresh rate to as low as 1Hz whenever necessary. The only thing that’s new this time is that the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s display features thinner bezels compared to its predecessor.

A17 Pro

In terms of performance, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is powered by the all-new A17 Pro chip. Fabbed under the industry-leading 3nm process, this processor brings 20% improved GPU performance over the A16 Bionic. These high-end chips are already super capable so a casual user might never even notice the improvement. That is exactly what we came to conclude in our iPhone 15 Pro Max full review where the phone was blazing fast but so was last year’s 14 Pro Max. That being said, that extra GPU horsepower is sure to come in handy for gamers.

Matter of fact, Apple has also promised that games like “Resident Evil 4 Remake” and “Assassin’s Creed Mirage” will be directly ported to the iPhone 15 series. On the memory front, Apple never discloses RAM specifications but it seems the iPhone 15 Pro series feature 8GB of memory. Whereas the 15 Pro Max now ships with 256GB of base storage and can be configured with up to 1TB.

Cameras

As for the cameras, the iPhone 15 Pro Max sees a decent upgrade this time around. It now features a 5X optical zoom lens versus 3X in its predecessor. Apple has used a tetraprism design to cram a 120mm equivalent telephoto lens compared to the 77mm focal length on the 14 Pro Max. This larger focal length is what allows for higher magnification and the tetraprism design enables this without any increase in the physical size of the phone. The sensor size is also about 25% larger on the newer iPhone.

iPhone 15 Pro Max Cameras

Leaving the software improvements like upgrades to the Photonic Engine aside, the main camera and the ultrawide are the same as last year. The primary shooter in the iPhone 15 Pro Max is a 48MP f/1.78 sensor whereas the ultrawide camera uses a 12MP f/2.2 lens. A new feature on the iPhone is its ability to automatically detect people or pets and switch to portrait mode for convenience. Up front, you get the same 12MP camera as last year with FaceID support.

Rest of the specs

All the new iPhones have a USB-C port but only the Pro and Pro Max support higher speeds (up to 10 gigabits per second) thanks to the USB 3 controller on the A17 Pro. Connectivity options include the same WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, dual-frequency GPS, and NFC. That being said, the iPhone 15 Pro Max does feature a newer second-generation Ultra-wideband (UWB) chip.

iPhone 15 Pro Max Specifications:

  • Dimension: 159.9 x 76.7 x 8.25mm, 221 grams
  • Display: 6.7‑inch OLED, Super Retina XDR with 120Hz ProMotion
  • Resolution: 2796 x 1290 pixels, 460 ppi
  • Chipset: A17 Pro (3nm) processor, 6 CPU cores + 6 GPU cores, 16-core Neural Engine
  • Storage: 256/512GB/1TB (non-upgradeable)
  • Operating System: iOS 17
  • Back Camera: Triple:
    – 48MP f/1.78 primary camera (sensor-shift OIS)

I tried OrangeNXT, a completely online bank and Here’s what I have found

0

We are just two days away from 2025 and Pheww, 2020 felt like a year ago. During these 5 years, almost all our transactions have gone digital with many digital wallets and mobile banking alike. It’s nothing so common for a mobile banking app to appear nowadays but what if I tell you, we have a completely online bank in Nepal with no physical location? Yes, you heard that right, it is the OrangeNXT platform. I tried their app for a month and here’s what you need to know everything about OrangeNXT.

OrangeNXT Review:

What exactly is OrangeNXT?

If you are not already familiar with OrangeNXT or haven’t heard about it to date. OrangeNXT is the first completely online banking platform in Nepal. It is developed by Laxmi Sunrise Bank and FoneNXT, a subsidiary of the PSO giant FonePay under F1Soft. At first, you might think of it as a mobile banking app of Laxmi Sunrise Bank, just as I thought back in the days. But actually, it isn’t. It is a completely different app and platform from the Laxmi Sunrise Money app on the Playstore/Appstore.

OrangeNXT Digital Banking

Note the word “Platform” because OrangeNXT uses a different bank account from that of the Laxmi Sunrise. Meaning, that despite having an account on the latter, you have to open a new one here.

No Physical Locations

As it is a completely online thing, there are no physical locations of OrangeNXT. But it does provide you a 24×7 customer service through mail, phone calls, and Viber/WhatsApp. And during my usage, they were swift enough to answer my queries.

5% Interest Rate

One of the key fortes of this platform is the 5% interest rate, the highest in the time being for a normal savings account standard. You get three schemes here, Elegant Savings, Kids Saving, and Remit Saver. The Remit Saver gets you a 6% interest rate and is for those receiving remittances from abroad. So, interest-wise, OrangeNXT is enticing, not gonna lie!

OrangeNXT My Experiences

Opening an Account

I heard about OrangeNXT a year ago. I thought it was an updated version of the Laxmi Sunrise mobile banking app after the merger of Laxmi and Sunrise Banks. And as I don’t have an account at Laxmi Sunrise, and none of the articles I have read, specified that it’s a different platform, I didn’t bother opening an account. Well, that was until I thought of giving it a go as I’m a FinTech-loving guy and love exploring whatever new apps are there in the e-wallet and digital banking scene.

I downloaded the app on my phone and was excited to open an account. But well, the universe had other plans I guess, I couldn’t get past the preliminary stage. To elaborate, my Honor 200 couldn’t direct to the messaging app, to get the OTP. It was frustrating honestly, but the OrangeNXT team was helpful enough to keep communicating about resolving the issue.

After all, the other plans I have mentioned above were to find out a good experience from the customer care team working 24 x 7 on the line. Well, it was a device device-specific issue as it was not prevailing on my friends’ phones. Then, I just randomly tried it again and it worked thankfully!

OrangeNXT Account Opening

  • Opening up a new account is very very simple. You just need to fill in all your info name, date of birth, address, and so on, with a government-verified ID such as citizenship, passport, and driving license.
  • It takes barely 5 minutes to get things done. And inside the app itself, you can make a video call to verify your KYC. This facility is available 24×7 or you can just schedule it as per your appropriate timing. Just make sure, you have the physical copy of the ID you have used to fill up the form.
  • And voila, you have an account on the OrangeNXT platform. It is that simple, all without having to visit a bank, which is the case in every other bank, despite opening up an account online. Oh wait, OrangeNXT doesn’t have a physical location, giggles!

How’s the UI?

The UI on this app is pretty simple but neat, I’d say. As the name implies Orange, you get a white theme with an orange accent on some elements. Overall, the UI feels minimal and clean to me. But it can get better with smoother animation, more colored UI elements, and a search button, maybe!

OrangeNXT Dashboard

Features

All sorts of payment options

As a 2024/25 mobile banking app, OrnageNXT has infused all of the major payment options. It consists of all of the FonePay payment options such as buses, education fees, insurance, capital, NEA, government payments, and such.

OrangeNXT Payment Options

Special Features

But the peculiar features are expense tracker, goal-based deposit, Flexi pot, and Smart budget. As the names imply, the expense tracker shows all your income and expenditures.  While the goal-based deposit is setting a fixed deposit.

Meanwhile, the Flexi pot feature is pretty amazing. Every time you make a QR payment, you can set a certain amount or percentage of the total payment amount to get saved inside Flexi-pot. Plus, you also get the same 5% interest on the Flexi-pot account and you can withdraw it anytime to the main account.

OrangeNXT Special Features
From Left to Right: Flexi Pot, Smart Budget, Expense Tracker

Likewise, the Smart Budget feature lets you allocate budget to different sections such as utilities, housing, food and drinks, personal care, and such. Just input your monthly income and spending amount and it will smartly allocate the amount on such sections. Presenting you a small folio of your spending lists with a budget. Which makes you conscious of your spending nature.

QR options and wallet loading

In terms of QR payments, you only have the FonePay QR option, as FonePay QRs are almost everywhere. But the wallet loading option is only available for eSewa which is a bummer for Khalti, IME Pay, and other wallet users. Also, transferring from your OrangeNxt account to any other bank costs you 11.30 charges per transaction using the FonePay medium. But the  ConnectIPS option is arriving pretty soon too.

OrangeNXT Review: Final Thoughts

I must commend OrangeNXT for its unique concept in Nepal’s digital market. With its fully online setup and operations, it stands out. Features like the 5% interest scheme, no annual charges for the app, and an easy account opening process have made it my daily driver banking app. However, I do miss a couple of key features: cardless withdrawals and debit/credit card options.

Nepal isn’t entirely ready for a cashless economy yet, as cash is still the preferred mode of payment in many places. After discussing with OrangeNXT representatives, I learned that cardless withdrawals will be introduced in a few months, and an online credit card option is also in development. However, a physical debit card doesn’t seem to be on the horizon for now. Overall, I’d rate the platform a solid 6.5 out of 10. While it’s not perfect, the upcoming features are promising—so there’s something to look forward.

OrangeNXT Banking:- Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Super easy account opening and KYC verification
  • 24×7 responsive helpline
  • 5% interest rate on normal accounts
  • Completely online platform
  • Minimal and Clean UI

Cons

  • No cardless withdrawal or Debit/Credit Card
  • Wallet loading option is just for eSewa
  • No other Fund transfer medium than FonePay Direct

Apple Magic Mouse Price in Nepal [Updated 2025]

0

Apple’s Magic Mouse comes bundled with most of their desktops including iMacs and Mac Pros but if you are keen on getting one for your Macbook or perhaps even your iPad, you’ve arrived at the right spot. In this article, let’s take a quick glance at Apple’s multi-touch Magic Mouse (Gen 2), its price in Nepal, features, and compatibility.

Apple Magic Mouse 2 Overview

A brief history

The first Magic Mouse was released in 2009 with multi-touch capabilities. Later on, we got the Magic Mouse 2 in 2015 with rechargeable batteries and iPad support. Here, we talk about the latter in more detail.

No physical clicks

The Magic Mouse sports a button-less design with no scroll wheels in sight. You control it via touch and swipes much like a trackpad. The mouse does register left and right clicks but you can’t press both simultaneously. Scrolling is replaced by a (up/down) swipe gesture along with most other navigation features.

Apple Magic Mouse Design

Besides the unusual choice of navigation, the design of the mouse might also not appeal to everyone. The overall profile is quite small at 2.1 x 5.7 x 11.3 cm (HxWxD) and it weighs below 100 grams. But while the contourless arch design is pleasantly aesthetic, many users have complained about strain and wrist fatigue during prolonged use.

Compatibility

Apple’s Magic Mouse 2 works seamlessly with devices running MacOS and iPadOS plays nicely with it as well. Windows laptops will recognize the device and pair via Bluetooth but you’ll have to tweak around and download 3rd party software to get it working properly. Compatible versions include MacOS X 10.11, iPadOS 13.4 and later.

Charging and battery life

While the first Magic Mouse used AA batteries, version 2 houses a rechargeable lithium cell inside that you charge via a Lighting cable. As the port is on the bottom side of the mouse, the device remains unusable during charging. Users report 3-4 weeks of battery life on a full charge.

MSI Katana Series

When it was first introduced in 2021, the Katana series was part of the Thin GF series. It has now outgrown GF to be a lineup of its own. The Thin GF series still exists as the base of MSI’s gaming laptop hierarchy, as it is meant to be a portable option. Katana, on the other hand, prioritizes performance and, while it is still on the cheaper side, costs more than its GF Thin counterpart.

  • Katana Series: Katana laptops get their name from Japanese Samurai warriors. It was designed by Tsuyoshi Nagano to represent blades and armor. Katana laptops are generally more advanced and powerful than Thin GF, although both are meant to be thin-and-light gaming laptops. They are the first to get the latest CPUs and GPUs, along with other gaming features like MUX Switch and 4-zone RGB keyboard.

Prestige Series Business Laptops

MSI Modern Series Business Laptops

The “Modern” series from MSI is another shot at entry-level laptops by the company. It comes with a slightly less powerful processor, graphics, and other compromises to name a few. And like the one above, these are targeted toward students, programmers, general-purpose, and business-class users.

But in some cases, the Modern series even outclasses the costlier Prestige models in terms of connectivity options, battery endurance, and others. For now, MSI Nepal is selling 5 models of Modern laptops in Nepal. You can choose between Intel or AMD CPU. As you’d expect, these are power-efficient processors and, therefore, aren’t suitable for heavy-load usage like gaming. But there are also models with H series CPUs.

Our Top Picks

The MSI Nootebook to pick

Starting off with a good MSI notebook, you can’t go wrong with the Modern 15 from 2023. It’s got the snappy Raptor Lake processor from Intel alongside integrated Iris GPU for day-to-day graphical needs. The 8GB of RAM does feel like MSI is holding back a little but it should be sufficient for your everyday user like office folks and students. The SSD is also a snappy NVMe one and you get 500GB of space to store documents and data. Finally, although the battery isn’t super promising with its 39Wh size, the FHD display shouldn’t push too many pixels to be very taxing. Well, the i5 processor also has tons of efficiency cores helping keep you going a bit longer. Overall, it’s a good pick among available MSI models in Nepal.

The best MSI gaming laptop in Nepal

If you want the cream of the crop in the MSI realme, get the Raider GE68 HX with a powerful Core i9 HX CPU with an NVIDIA RTX 4070 running at its full TGP. It’s a monster of a machine that will plow through anything you can throw at it and with that comes the hefty price both figurately and literally. The Raider weighs more than 2.7 kilos and costs upwards of 3.4 lakhs. We suggest the Raider to gamers and editors alike who can make use of the powerful hardware. Besides the powerful CPU/GPU, there’s a crispy QHD screen running at 240Hz with minimal response times (<10ms) and plenty of storage. Our suggested configuration ships with 32GB of DDR5 RAM and 2 TB of Gen 4 SSD.

Thin, Light, New

Although we don’t get a lot of new MSI laptops right now, the Cyborg 15 (2024) is one of the options if you want a go at the latest and greatest. It’s a gaming laptop with an emphasis on the portability side of things as well. So, along with the sci-fi aesthetics, you get a portable package weighing under 2 kilos. And while most MSI laptops are available with last year’s Raptor Lake chips, the Cyborg ships with Intel’s newer Meteor Lake Core Ultra 7 based on a newer and more efficient Intel 4 architecture. Since it’s a gaming laptop and all, we can’t forget about the GPU which is handled by NVIDIA’s RTX 4060 be it running only at 45W.

How to Choose an MSI Laptop in Nepal? [Mini-Guide]

MSI is a premium gaming brand, or that’s what the impression among people is. However, the company has forayed into different market segments and different price ranges. All the MSI laptops fall under one of three broad categories— Gaming, Content Creation, and Business and Productivity. Within each category, different lineups cater to different price ranges. Each year, MSI refreshes these lineups with the latest components from Intel, AMD, and NVIDIA. But not all models reach Nepal, and most that do are not very appealing for the price.
