Along with the Inspiron 14 Plus, Dell has also launched the Inspiron 16 Plus laptop globally. It brings a 12th gen Intel Core processor well accompanied by DDR5 RAM. Here, we will look into the specs, features, availability, and expected price of the Dell Inspiron 16 Plus in Nepal.
Dell Inspiron 16 Plus Overview:
Design and Display
This year’s Inspiron 16 Plus doesn’t necessarily bring any changes in terms of design. You still get an aluminum hood with a glossy Dell logo and an overall matte finish.
Similarly, at 2.05 kg and 19.95 mm thickness, the 16 Plus is a decent size for a 16-inch laptop. You can get it in a Dark Green color.
On the front, it flaunts a 16-inch WVA panel with 16:10 resolution and 3K resolution. Dell has included an anti-glare coating to aid with light reflection. Additionally, it comes with features such as ComfortView Plus and DC Dimming that lessens the screen flickering and make it easier on the eyes.
Moreover, the display has a peak brightness of 300 nits. There’s also a 1080p webcam on the top bezel which features temporal noise reduction to minimize background noises.
Powering the laptop is an Intel Core i7-12700H processor, accompanied by up to 32GB of DDR5 RAM and up to 2TB of SSD. Likewise, the integrated GPU should be enough for individuals with less graphically demanding activities.
But, if you’re a content creator or a gamer, you can opt for an RTX 3050 Ti or even an RTX 3060 GPU. The latter comes with 6GB of GDDR6 VRAM, whilst the former has 4GB of GDDR6 memory.
Furthermore, the cooling solution on this machine includes dual fans with up to five heat pipes. Dell has also increased the vent outlet space by 15% to ensure that your device stays cool.
Rest of the specs
Fueling the Inspiron 16 Plus is an 86Wh lithium-ion battery that charges via a 130W charger.
Getting to the ports, it has two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, one Thunderbolt 4.0, an HDMI 2.0, an SD card reader, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Similarly, it has Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 for wireless connectivity.
Dell Inspiron 16 Plus Price in Nepal and Availability
The all-new Inspiron 16 Plus starts at USD 1,599.99 for the base variant and goes as high as USD 1,949.99 for the RTX 3060, 32GB RAM, and 1TB SSD model. We expect the price of Dell Inspiron 16 Plus to start at NPR 210,000, if and when it launches in Nepal.

Random Access Memory, or RAM, in short, is one of the major components to consider whenever you are building a new PC or updating an existing one. However, you can be overwhelmed with the number of options and the wide price range of RAM in Nepal. So, to help you make the best buying decision, we have compiled the list of the best RAM sticks (modules) that you can currently buy in Nepal at their official price.
What is RAM and what does it do?
RAM (Random Access Memory) is responsible for storing all the information relating to processes and threads being processed. When you run a program on a computer, related data and files (otherwise known as pagefile) need to be loaded onto the RAM. The system then uses the data in processing to give you the result you require.
There are programs that require more RAM than others. Generally, high-end games and programs that deal with large media files require higher RAM storage. Not having enough RAM may result in a laggy experience. It can even cause freezing and random boots. At times, your system will also display a “Memory Getting Low” error message.
How much RAM is enough for a Nepali user?
We recommend you have at least 8GB of RAM in any PC you built in Nepal, even if it’s a budget one. Today, it is the bare minimum, especially if you are going to install Windows on it. Microsoft has set the minimum RAM requirement for the latest Windows 11 at 4GB.
However, running Windows 11 machine with just 4GB of RAM, the experience will be anything but fluid. Even if all you do is watch movies, listen to music, and browse the internet, 8GB of RAM is the way to go. This way, you will also be able to do light multitasking.
However, if you are more of a heavy user, it is wise to have at least 16GB of RAM at your disposal. This is especially true for gamers. Most modern AAA titles require at least 16GB of RAM. Moving on, a PC for 4K video editing will require at least 32GB of RAM.
Things to consider before upgrading RAM in Nepal
There are a few considerations to make whenever upgrading RAM in a system. While it is not applicable to PCs, there are laptops where RAM upgrades are not possible. This is mostly the case with Ultrabook and thin-and-light notebooks, where manufacturers solder the RAM into the motherboard to save space for other components.
If your system has replaceable RAM then you can think of upgrading them. A lot of it will depend on your systems like the no of sticks that can be inserted, the maximum capacity, and the form factor (DIMM/SODIMM).
Do you really need the latest DDR5 technology?
You will also have to pay attention to the generation of the RAM module. The latest RAM standard is DDR5, but being a new-gen product it’s both expensive and hard to get in Nepal. There is just a handful of laptops and PC Motherboards with DDR5 RAM compatibility in Nepal.
The adaption of DDR5 RAM in the Nepali PC market is even slower. Most of the mainstream PC builds in Nepal today still use DDR4 RAM, which is the best option if you want to balance price and performance.
If it is an older system (PC or laptop) that you are trying to give a new life to, you will have to check the compatibility of the motherboard. Your system might just support DDR3 or DDR2 RAM, in which case it won’t be wise to waste money on newer RAM.
The best practice is to use identical RAMs in a system. Most RAM manufacturers sell RAM sticks in pairs or kit packages, and you can find them in Nepal as well. These are the best options if you are planning a new PC Build.
But if you are upgrading an existing system, you might be tempted to use newer RAM with older ones. And it won’t be a problem if you are using RAM modules of exact same model. But mixing two RAMs of different origins can cause a problem.
Theoretically, you can get away by using a stick of the same speed and voltage. Mis-matching RAM sticks of different speeds will result in the faster stick running at a slower speed to match the other stick. It’s the same if you mix RAM sticks of different voltages.
Another factor to consider during RAM upgrade is the channel configuration. System memory can run either in a single channel or a dual-channel configuration. To make out the best of your memory, make sure to install it in a dual-channel configuration.
But the process is not as simple as slotting in two memory sticks. Modern motherboards can have more than two memory slots with certain slots designed to work together. Thus, you need to go deep dive into your motherboard specifications to figure out which slots to use.
It’s possible to use a higher storage RAM with a lower one. In this case, the lower capacity RAM will pair with a certain portion of the other stick in dual-channel RAM. The remaining portion of the higher memory RAM will work in a single channel. This is also called Flex Mode.
PC in Flex Mode won’t work as fast as in dual-channel configuration. However, if you are upgrading an old system, it should not be a major concern.
Memory Timing and CAS Latency
DRAM manufacturers tend to promote speed over any other parameter. And for most users, it is all that matters. However, advanced users, like those into overclocking, also pay attention to the Memory Timings.
You see, the frequency that you see on the product box is the maximum frequency possible. Most often, the RAM won’t run at the advertised speed right out of the box — the actual speed will depend upon the RAM standard and motherboard compatibility.
For you to use the full potential of your RAM, you need to overclock them. In this context, overclocking means tweaking the timing of the RAM. In simple terms, timing represents the interval working of the RAM. It is often represented as a set of four numbers differentiated by a dash “-”.
For example, you might encounter a memory with 16-18-18-36 timing. Each number stands for a certain phase of RAM’s internal mechanism. The most popular parameter of the four is the CAS Latency. It is the first number in RAM Timing and denotes the number of delays (in the clock cycle) between a data being requested and the time that RAM starts sending the data.
As a rule of thumb, the lower the CAS Latency, the better the performance of RAM. The same can be said about the rest of the timing parameters.
Is RGB necessary?
Some RAM even comes with its own RGB lighting. These RGBs do not have any effect on the performance and are there for the purpose of aesthetics alone. Unless you are building a gaming rig that you want to show off to your friends you will be better off with non-RGB RAM modules.
Not all DRAM manufacturers have their official distribution network in Nepal. Some brands do sell their products via official distribution in Nepal, but they are hard to get and even when you do find them the price is usually high. As a result, most consumers turn to individual importers for RAM. These importers bring in a wide range of RAM from different brands and belonging to different price ranges in Nepal.
The price of RAM in Nepal doesn’t remain the same as the market for PC components is always changing. Still, you can use the given price list as a reference whenever you go shopping for a new card. In addition, we will be updating this price list based on the latest market trend.

Fantech X16 Thor II
While the Fantech X16 does not provide top-tier performance, it is one of the best gaming mice you can get for around NPR 1600. The design is reminiscent of brands like Logitech and Razer, which is not bad.
The mouse does not feel cheap but neither does it feel too premium. For the price, you get a 1000Hz polling rate, adjustable DPI (200-4,200), tons of RGB, and also macro capabilities. The only downsides of this mouse are its heavy weight, lack of onboard memory, and sub-par skates.
It does not slide as well on the mousepad, but you will likely not face any issues while playing FPS games. However, I suggest you save a bit and consider the next mouse in this list.
Fantech X16 Thor II Key Features:
PixArt 3519 Sensor
Up to 48 IPS / 10G Acceleration
Customizable RGB
Adjustable DPI 200 – 4,200DPI
1000Hz Polling Rate
1.8m Braided USB Cable

Best Under Rs. 4,000
If you have Rs. 4,000 to spend on a mouse, don’t think twice and just get the Razer Viper Mini. The Razer DeathAdder V2 Mini is a valid option, too, as they share a lot in common. These two offer the peak of what you can get for under 4K.
Razer Viper Mini
The Razer Viper Mini is a super lightweight mouse at only 61 grams. The sensor accuracy on this mouse is top tier, and the magnificent low latency is all gamers could ask for. More so, the braided cable does not obstruct mouse movement.
The Razer Synapse software allows the user to reprogram every button on the mouse. Overall, the Razer Viper Mini does not leave any room for complaints.
However, if you have bigger hands, you might face some issues depending on your grip style.

Viper Mini
DeathAdder V2 Mini
As I mentioned, the DeathAdder V2 Mini and the Viper Mini are the same mice. The choice boils down to whether you like Viper’s semi-ambidextrous shape or DeathAdder’s ergonomic one.
Razer Viper Mini Key Features:
61g lightweight ambidextrous design
Razer Optical Mouse Switch
Razer Speedflex Cable
Up to 300 IPS / 35G Acceleration
Up to 8,500 DPI
Razer Chroma RGB Underglow
100% PTFE Mouse Feet
Price in Nepal: Rs. 3,600
Best Under Rs. 10,000
For the best gaming mouse in Nepal under Rs. 10,000, we have three picks, each different from the other. While the DeathAdder V2 and Glorious Model O are wired, Fantech’s Helios Go XD5 offers wireless connectivity as well.
Fantech Helios Go XD5
The Helios Go XD5 from Fantech is a lightweight wireless gaming mouse. It comes with the popular Kailh GM8.0 switches and PixArt 3370 sensor. It can be used both wired and wirelessly. Just make sure you set the debounce to 0ms via the companion software for the best wireless gaming experience.
The provided paracord Type-C cable is lightweight and doesn’t produce drag while gaming. Likewise, the PTFE feet offer minimal resistance.
The build quality is decent but not the best. Due to the removable top cover, the mouse tends to squeak time and again. Also, the scroll wheel steps aren’t as well defined. Regarding performance, the mouse excels with no jitter or lags whatsoever.
Fantech Helios Go XD5 Key Features:
PixArt 3370 Sensor
72g Lightweight Design
Up to 400 IPS / 50G Acceleration
Adjustable DPI 800-19,000 DPI
1000Hz Polling Rate
Kailh GM8.0 Switches
Running RGB with 7 RGB modes
1.8m Type-C Paracord
Up to 40H battery life
Price in Nepal: Rs. 8,499
Razer DeathAdder V2
Razer’s DeathAdder lineup is iconic, and every gamer once had it on their wish list. Best suited for palm grip, the DeathAdder V2 provides super-low latency and a customizable CPI range. Compared to previous models, there is a visible improvement in the cable and feet quality.
The mouse is quite large, so it might not be suitable for claw/fingertip gamers with smaller hands. The Razer Synapse 3 software provides tons of customization but is not available for macOS.
However, as it has onboard memory, you can customize it on a Windows machine and then use it on Mac. But we are here for gaming and nobody games on a Mac. So, it should not be an issue.
Razer DeathAdder V2 Key Features:
Ergonomic Design / 82g weight
Razer Optical Mouse Switch
Razer Focus+ Optical Sensor
Razer Chroma RGB
Up to 650 IPS / 50G Acceleration
Up to 20,000 DPI
Price in Nepal: Rs. 10,000
Glorious Model O
The Glorious Model O features the popular honeycomb design that many desire. Speaking from personal experience, cleaning the dust buildup is a dreadful experience. Nonetheless, almost every best gaming mouse round-up mentions the Model O in one way or the other.
At 67 gm (103 gm with cable), it is one of the lightest mice on this list. Compared to the Deathadder V2, it has higher latency and lower maximum CPI but lower weight.
Pick this over the DeathAdder V2 if you like the lightweight ambidextrous body and the perforated honeycomb design.
Glorious Model O Key Features:
67g lightweight honeycomb design
Pixart 3360 Sensor with 1000Hz polling rate (1ms) and 0.7mm life-off distance
Proprietary 2.0m Ascend Cord braided cable
G-Skate Feet made 100% Virgin PTFE
Up to 12,000 DPI.
Fully customizable RGB lighting
Price in Nepal: Rs. 10,000
Best Under Rs. 15,000
There are plenty of gaming mice available for under 15K. But, in our opinion, the ROCCAT Kone Pro Air is the best gaming mouse in Nepal at this price point. Alongside being priced reasonably, it also packs a ton of features.
There is also the Razer Viper 8KHz which comes with an astonishing 8,000Hz polling rate for fluid mouse movements.
Well, for the MMO gamers, you can’t go wrong with the Razer Naga Trinity and the versatility it provides.
Razer Viper 8KHz
The Razer Viper 8KHz is exactly what the name suggests. It has a truly ambidextrous design with additional buttons on both sides. Compared to a normal Viper, it has a higher 8KHz polling rate, better cable, and better feet.
This means that the mouse provides fluid cursor movement while feeling well-built and lightweight. Despite not having a honeycomb body, the mouse weighs only 101 grams (cable included).
Razer Viper 8KHz Key Features:
71g True-Ambidextrous Design
Razer 8000Hz HyperPolling Technology
Razer Focus+ 20K DPI Optical Sensor
2nd-gen Razer Optical Mouse Switch
Up to 650 IPS / 50G Acceleration
Razer Chroma RGB
Price in Nepal: Rs. 11,500
ROCCAT Kone Pro Air
The ROCCAT Kone Pro Air is an extremely good wireless mouse that weighs only 72 grams. It has 3 connection modes: Bluetooth, 2.4GHz dongle, and wired.
It is a well-balanced ergo mouse suited for claw grip. Likewise, the build quality is very sturdy and it features unique shine-through RGB on the buttons.
You get a top-tier mouse for the top-tier price you pay. However, a wired-only version of the mouse is available for under NPR 10,000.
ROCCAT Kone Pro Air Key Features:
Ergonomic shape
Wireless + Bluetooth, with USB-C Rapid Charge
Lightweight Bionic Shell – 75g
Titan Switch Optical
Heat-treated pure PTFE glides
ROCCAT Owl-Eye 19K DPI optical sensor
Price in Nepal: Rs. 14,000
Razer Naga Trinity
The Razer Naga Trinity is a jack of all trades, but master of none. Three interchangeable side panels allow it to be used for both FPS and MMO games.
The multiple-button layout offers a lot of flexibility. It’s fantastic, especially for MMOs, but its weight, size, and rigid cable keep it from being perfect.
Razer Naga Trinity Key Features:
120g right-handed form factor
Razer 5G optical sensor, 16,000 DPI
Up to 450 IPS / 50 G Acceleration
3 interchangeable side panels: 2, 7, and 12-button configurations
Razer Mechanical Mouse Switches
1000Hz Polling Rate
Price in Nepal: Rs. 14,000
Best Premium Gaming Mouse in Nepal
The Logitech G Pro X Superlight is the best mouse you can buy in Nepal right now, but….. the elephant in the room, it’s incredibly overpriced in Nepal, and the lack of availability is a huge issue.
I’d suggest you go with the Kone Pro Air instead. But, if money is no constraint, you can get the G Pro X Superlight.
Logitech G Pro X Superlight
This is the best mouse money can buy right now in Nepal. From the design to the performance, it outperforms the majority of the competition globally. The mouse’s weight is distributed far better than any other on this list, weighing only 63 grams.
The Logitech G Pro X Superlight has a secure shape, making it suitable for the majority of users. Similarly, the coating Logitech uses on the body is strangely satisfying. Not to mention the star of the show, Logitech’s flagship Hero 25K sensor.
If we’ve to nitpick, the buttons, especially the side ones, are a little underwhelming. Another complaint is the lack of Bluetooth connectivity, which is unimportant for gaming.
The GPX Superlight’s skates work well, but Logitech does not include a replacement. So if you ever need a replacement, go for the Superglide glass skates for optimum performance.
The Logitech G Pro X Superlight Key Features:
63g lightweight design
Hero 25K sensor: 100 – 25,600 DPI
1000Hz Polling Rate
Up to 400 IPS / 40G Acceleration
No-additive PTFE Feet
70h battery life with constant motion
LIGHTSPEED wireless technology, Onboard memory
Price in Nepal: ~Rs. 35,000

It is available in two color options: Force Black and Snowfall White. While this boxy design appears to be rather modern, Infinix has chosen a U-shaped notch on the front.
In terms of display, you’re looking at a 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED panel with a DCI-P3 color gamut. Sadly, there is no support for higher refresh rates here, although it does come with a 180Hz touch sampling rate.
The display also features a peak brightness of 700 nits and a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for further protection against drops and scratches.
Performance
Inside, the phone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 810 chipset with an Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. This is paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It also has a microSD card slot for storage extension of up to 2TB. In terms of software, it runs Infinix’s XOS 10.6 based on Android 12.
Camera
At the back, the Note 12 Pro 5G has a triple camera arrangement, led by a 108MP main sensor. This is complemented by two 2MP depth and macro sensors. Likewise, on the front, there is a 16MP sensor for selfies.
Rest of the specs

Huawei just introduced two new members to its Nova 10 series. In addition, the business has released its first anti-lost tracking gadget, the Huawei Tag. This is a less expensive alternative to Apple AirTags, which are becoming increasingly popular. So, let’s look at the Huawei Tag’s specs, features, availability, and expected price in Nepal.
Huawei Tag Overview:
Body
Huawei Tag is designed in the shape of a pebble and weighs only 6 grams, making it far lighter than Apple AirTags, which weigh 13 grams. Similarly, the body is ridiculously slim, measuring only 5.6mm.
It comes with a single white color option and is IP67 certified, so it can easily withstand dust and spills in your daily life.
The tracker gets up and running with a CR2032 button battery which is claimed to deliver more than a year of battery life. Of course, when the battery expires, it can be readily removed.
Huawei has also designed a leather keychain for it, allowing us to easily hang it in our bags or on our valuables.
Huawei Tag employs NFC for tracking and features a built-in speaker that can blare an alert up to 92 db when you’re looking for your items. It also provides encrypted location data sharing that can be anonymous in both directions. Add to that a long-term security reminder feature to dissuade unknown Huawei trackers.
But its major letdown is that it can only be paired with a Harmony OS 2.0-powered device and relies on Huawei’s “Find” network to track objects. The company can enable Android and iOS environment support with its global launch though.
Huawei Tag Specifications:
Size and Weight: 32 (H) x 31.2 (W) x 5.6 (D) mm, 6 grams
IP certification: IP67 dust and water resistant
Connectivity: NFC
Battery: User-replaceable CR2032 button battery
Others: Built-in speaker
Compatibility: Harmony OS 2.0 device
Huawei Tag Price in Nepal and Availability
The Tag retails at CNY 99 (~ $15) for a single unit and the company also sells a four-pack for CNY 299 (~ $45). The sales for the tracker will start on July 30 in China. We expect the price of Huawei Tag to be NPR 2,500, if and when it launches in Nepal.

Asus has finally unveiled its ROG Phone 6 series. The lineup consists of a regular Phone 6 and a Pro model, the first gaming phones to come equipped with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip. In this article, we will be discussing the official specs, features, expected price of the Asus ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro in Nepal.
Asus ROG Phone 6 Overview:
Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Gaming Phones
As mentioned earlier, the ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro are the first gaming phones to feature Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 on these phones is based on TSMC’s 4nm process, resulting in better performance than the regular 8 Gen 1 while also being power efficient.
According to the company, the new chip boasts a 15% faster CPU and a 50% faster GPU than the Snapdragon 888 on the ROG Phone 5. Furthermore, it is also 20% power efficient.
Asus has paired the chip with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The regular Phone 6 can be configured with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. On the other hand, the Pro model is available in a sole 18GB RAM variant.
GameCool 6
To maintain sustained gaming performance, Asus has fitted the ROG Phone 6 series with the new in-house GameCool 6 cooling system. It consists of three main components: A Boron Nitride (BN) thermal compound, a vapor chamber, and an optional AeroActive Cooler 6 component.
Asus says the new thermal compound has 200% better heat conductivity than the last-gen solution, and just 3,300 milligrams of it can lower the CPU temperature by 10° Celsius. It drives the heat away from one side of the CPU, reducing thermal throttling, and is most effective during short gaming sessions.
For longer gaming sessions, ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro have an enlarged vapor chamber (30% larger) and an 85% larger graphite sheet.
However, if you want the best performance possible out of the new gaming phones, you will have to spend some extra bucks for the AeroActive Cooler 6.
It is an active cooling solution with a Peltier cooling element that snaps at the back of the phone just over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+. With AI cooling mechanism, it can lower the phone’s surface temperature by up to 25° Celsius. In addition to being a cooler, AeroActive Cooler 6 even adds 4 physical buttons for extra controls.
Gaming Controls
Talking about controls, the ROG Phone 6 series phones come with a lot of options. As with their predecessors, ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro come with 2 ultrasonic buttons. They now support new forms of gestures such as Dual Action, Press and lift, and Gyroscope aiming. The latter is said to help MOBA gamers as it helps users scan their environment by simply tilting the phone.
Users can even buy the Kunai 3 gamepad separately for a more console-like gaming experience. 3
Furthermore, the X-axis motor on the Asus ROG Phone 6 series has been improved by 80%. It now supports vibration frequency of up to 130Hz and is 20% more power-efficient as well.
Talking about the design, Asus is sticking to its principle of no notch and no punch-hole for its gaming phone. ROG Phone 6 series continue to sport traditional design with bezels.
Maintaining the Cyberpunk aesthetics, Asus ROG Phone 6 is available in Storm White and Phantom Black color option, whereas the latter is not an option on the Pro.

ROG Phone 6 Pro
ROG Phone 6
One way to distinguish the Asus ROG Phone 6 Pro from its sibling is to look at the back. The Pro model features a second display at the back, whereas the ROG Phone 6 only has an RGB strip.
In addition, Asus is touting the Asus ROG Phone 6 as the first splash-resistant gaming phone as the phone will have IPX4 rating.
Upfront, Asus ROG Phone 6 features a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen with a 165Hz refresh rate. Furthermore, the screen boasts touch sampling rates of up to 720Hz, 111% DCI-P3 coverage, and HDR10+ certification. It even has Gorilla Glass Victus protection.
Rest of the specs
Fueling the Asus ROG Phone 6 is a massive 6,000mAh battery. Both ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro support fast charging of up to 65W. The two phones have two USB-C ports, so you can play games even with them plugged into a charger. You can even cast the phone to a bigger screen using a USB-to-HDMI cable on the side charging port.
You get two front-facing speakers on ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro, backed by Dirac. There is even a 3.5mm headphone jack that you won’t find on mainstream flagships these days. The phone even supports Lossless audio thanks to Snapdragon Sound and aptX Adaptive codec.
It may not hold much significance to hard-core gamers, but the ROG Phone 6 series features a triple camera setup consisting of a 50MP primary, 13MP ultrawide, and a 5MP macro sensor. There is even a 12MP selfie camera on the front. The phones run on Android 12 out of the box with ROG UI on top.
Audio: Front-FacingStereo speaker, Dirac HD, 3.5mm headphone jack
Connectivity: 5G, Wi-Fi 6E a/b/n/ac/ax (2.4GHz, 5GHz), 2×2 MIMO, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, dual-Type-C port (bottom & side)
Battery: 6000mAh with 65W wired charging

In this review, I will be taking an in-depth look at the OnePlus Nord 2T. If you remember, last year’s Nord 2 and the first-gen Nord before it were a couple of very good mid-range phones. So naturally, you would expect its next iteration to also live up to those standards, right? But the Nord 2T is basically the same phone as the Nord 2 with just a few little changes. So, is the Nord 2T a good offering despite the tiny upgrades over its predecessor?
OnePlus Nord 2T Specifications:
Body: 73.2 x 159.1 x 8.2mm, 190gm, Gorilla Glass 5
Okay, on to the review, I have been using the OnePlus Nord 2T as my primary phone for just about 2 weeks now. And there are a few things about it that I appreciate a lot, like the well-built design.
Although its form factor is very similar to the Nord 2, that is not something I would complain about, honestly. It’s such a comfortable phone to use, whereas its glass finish, as well as the slightly curved back, feel great on the hands too.
Also, I cannot emphasize enough how much I love the alert slider.
I mean, it comes so handy when you’re in meetings and you forget to keep your phone in silent mode (which happens to me every time). You just switch the slider and your ongoing conversation goes undisturbed. It just looks very professional, in my opinion.
What’s with that camera module?
The only thing I am not okay with is these camera modules. If you look at it closely, they look so randomly placed! I mean, symmetry can just rest in peace; I think the Nord 2’s camera placement was way cleaner and I would not have complained if they had done something similar here too.
Also, I would like to highlight the fact that this back catches fingerprints quite easily. So if you use the phone without a cover as I do, you will be doing this all day. For durability, OnePlus has included Gorilla Glass 5, both on the front and back of the Nord 2T. Likewise, the power and volume buttons here have a very nice, tactile feedback which has made interacting with this device quite satisfactory.
Besides good design and solid build, the performance on this thing is pretty reliable too. Now, technically, the performance jump from Dimensity 1200 chipset to Dimensity 1300 is not that significant, but I think OnePlus has made some improvements in terms of optimization and thermals with the Nord 2T.
Here, I tested some popular games like PUBG where I was able to get stable 40 fps in the highest possible settings (HDR+Ultra), while it also maintained an impressive 60 fps mark at Smooth graphics and Extreme settings.
The phone is also optimized to play some of the high fps games like Mech Arena at 90 fps where I got 87 to 89 fps on average, even in the Ultra graphic profile.
Decent gaming experience
I also tried playing the newly launched Apex Legends on it, where I got respectable results. It was only when playing GPU-demanding games like Genshin Impact that the device showed some signs of distress. At the highest settings with 60 fps mode turned on, the game would hover around just 30 fps with frequent stutters.
So, you’ll need to turn down to medium graphics for stable gameplay where the fps mark is still around 30 fps only. But the stability this time is so much better. And yes, the OnePlus Nord 2T would heat up to about 41°C when playing Genshin Impact for about 20 minutes or so. But with other games, it would remain relatively cooler.
Smooth performance
Other normal tasks including heavy multitasking and app opening are superb with no hiccups whatsoever. The typing experience is quite nice too and so is the vibration feedback. It’s strong enough so that you don’t miss your phone calls, but it’s irritatingly buzzy either.
However, I did notice that there’s a bit of an aggressive battery optimization going on here, which would kill background processes after a while. But except that, the overall performance has been satisfactory, and that’s partially also due to the well-optimized OxygenOS.
And talking about OxygenOS, I feel like OnePlus has been getting a lot of unnecessary hate because of the whole OnePlus–Oppo merger thing. But for me, the overall usability hasn’t really changed that much.
Yes, there are a couple of minor UI tweaks in the settings and camera app for example, but that’s all there is. Those core OxygenOS functions are still here, it’s still ad-free, and there are very few bloatware apps, so I wouldn’t make a huge fuss about the merger, at least for now. By the way, OnePlus has also pledged to provide 2 years of OS and 3 years of security updates here, which is nice.
Display
6.43-inches FHD+ AMOLED panel
90Hz refresh rate (180Hz touch sampling rate)
Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection
On the display side of things, well it’s pretty much the same stuff as the Nord 2. You get the same 6.43-inch AMOLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ certification on the OnePlus Nord 2T.
It’s a quality screen to look at with nice colors, contrast, and brightness levels. And since the company has optimized the 90Hz refresh rate quite well, I haven’t faced any jitters or micro stutters on this phone either.
Now, one might argue that it’s not a 120Hz screen, so it won’t be as smooth. But I haven’t felt much of a difference honestly. However, I would have liked it if there was an auto-refresh rate option in the settings.
Battery
4500mAh battery with 80W SuperVOOC charging
So during my usage, I had to set the display to 90Hz all the time, which in turn resulted in just average battery life and I always had to charge my phone before leaving my office for home at around 8 PM. But since my smartphone usage pattern is quite demanding, this is common for me.
Therefore, if your usage is a little less taxing, then this phone should easily last you an entire day. On the plus side, its 80W charger only takes around 30 minutes to fully juice this device. That means even if your phone dies in the middle of the day, you can fill it up within a matter of minutes!

Ok, getting to the cameras, we get a very similar triple camera setup that consists of a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary lens, an 8MP ultra-wide, and a 2MP depth sensor.
We have seen the IMX766 at work in many other devices, like the Realme GT 2 Pro, GT Neo 3, and even the OnePlus Nord 2, so we know that it’s a reliable sensor. As a result, the Nord 2T does well in the camera department.

I also gotta appreciate how OnePlus has not gone with overly saturated optimization. Instead, its images have a very digestible level of vibrancy. Having said that, the phone does boost contrast by a bit.

Likewise, the contrast looks slightly boosted in portrait images too and the camera seems to brighten the subject a bit. But since the end results look pleasant, I wouldn’t complain much about it.

I am impressed with the OnePlus Nord 2T’s nighttime shots too, as even without the night mode turned on, it manages to capture well-detailed shots. Turing on night mode makes the exposure and detail levels even better.

However, as with most midrange phones, its ultra-wide camera is strictly average.

It fails to deliver a good dynamic range, there’s distortion around the edges, and detail levels are just subpar as well.
Videography
As for videos, the Nord 2T can shoot up to 4K 30 fps videos from the back camera. But despite the onboard OIS, the stabilization is not so good at this resolution. And the selfie videos are still capped at 1080p 30 fps, which is something OnePlus needs to improve by quite a bit.
Audio
Dual stereo speakers (with custom Dirac drivers)
Lastly, something that I am not impressed with OnePlus Nord 2T is its speaker quality. They’re loud, yes, and there is no distortion in the highest volumes either. But the highs sound very sharp and the overall audio doesn’t sound balanced. They’re okay for casually watching movies and stuff, but if you listen to a lot of music, you will find its audio quality to be just average.
OnePlus Nord 2T Review: Conclusion
Okay, so from everything that I have discussed so far in this review, you must have guessed that the OnePlus Nord 2T is a good phone in its class. And if you buy this phone, you won’t regret it, experience-wise. On the other hand, the phone is quite overpriced in Nepal.
But at the same time, while using the Nord 2, I kept questioning myself if it was an unnecessary addition to OnePlus’ portfolio, to begin with.
I mean, it’s basically the same as the Nord 2 in almost every aspect. I think it would have been better if the company had skipped this phone altogether, and brought the OnePlus Nord 3 instead with upgrades such as a 120Hz screen, a better ultra-wide sensor, some quality of life improvements in terms of battery life, and a 4K selfie video recording option!
