Samsung has launched the world’s first Micro RGB TV, with a micro-scale RGB LED backlight. This breakthrough display technology delivers better color reproduction compared to traditional Neo QLED TVs, so let’s learn more about it.
So, what is Micro RGB technology?
To understand simply, Micro RGB uses individually controlled red, green, and blue micro RGB LEDs. Each of them are less than 100µm (micrometer) and are arranged in an “ultra-fine pattern behind the panel”.

And because of this, Micro RGB has better colors and contrast compared to Mini LED TVs. Which only has an array of white or blue LEDs behind the LCD panel.
Samsung Micro RGB TV Overview
Display
This Samsung Micro RGB TV measures 115-inch diagonally. It boasts 4K resolution and also supports 144Hz variable refresh rate if you’d ever feel like gaming on this mammoth of a television. And other than this, it has HDR10+ support and covers 100% of the BT.2020 color gamut. Whereas it also adopts Samsung’s “Glare Free” technology that minimized reflections.
Samsung’s Micro RGB AI engine
Moving on, Samsung has developed a separate “Micro RGB AI engine” to power this TV. The company says this display engine can analyze each and every frame in real time to automatically optimize color rendition. It can even recognize scenes with dull color tones to make them appear more vivid and lifelike.
