With Apple unveiling the iPhone 17 series in just a few weeks, we now have the first rumors about the iPhone 17e. Even though it’s unlikely that Apple will unveil it alongside the rest of the iPhone 17 lineup, the good news is that the iPhone 17e will reportedly abandon the notch for a Dynamic Island.

Bye-bye, notch

Yes, you read that right. According to the reliable tipster Digital Chat Station, Apple has decided to scrap the notch style for the iPhone 17e and replace it with the much-appreciated Dynamic Island instead.

Along with this change, the iPhone will boast a 6.1-inch OLED display.

But the sad news is that it might still ship with the same 60Hz refresh rate as the iPhone 16e. Which makes us think Apple might be repurposing its iPhone 15 (review) design for the iPhone 17e.

And it could have the same 12MP front-facing camera with Face ID and a 48MP shooter at the back.

A19 chip?

The iPhone 17e will be powered by the soon-to-be-released Apple A19 chip. This is the same processor that we will get to see on the iPhone 17 and the iPhone 17 Air. While the iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Pro Max enjoy a more powerful A19 Pro chip instead.
